Super friendly staff and fun atmosphere. Love their entire menu but my favorites are their burgers and boneless wings. Walleye dinner is my favorite dinner here.

When you hover over the stars to make a rating when starting this review, the 3 stars is called "A-OK" and that is just how I'd describe Busters. I have lived in Mankato now for nearly 10 years but am surprisingly new to Busters. Sure, I've driven by the place many, many times. I've seen the groups of car enthusiasts in the parking lot. Figured it was a beer joint with typical beer joint food so took a pass. I'm recently discovering that my assumptions are causing me to miss some interesting places :) Have eaten at Buster's now I think 3 times. Its a bit old school, bar and grill type place with pool tables and a very long bar. I tend to stop here for a quick bite with my mom. She enjoys the salads and I have nothing but love for the tuna melt with cole slaw. Gold old world comfort food, good but nothing special or outstanding. Service is always cheerful but on the slow side. Wine selection is poor but hey, this is a beer joint, I get that. Positives: Good solid food and excellent prices. Atmosphere better than a dive but below say...Applebees. Not unpleasant but not memorable. I wish: They had sriracha or Cholula or even Texas Pete's instead of just Tabasco for hot sauce. Tabasco is really only good in a bloody mary - my humble opinion. Overall will be back!

Service was horrible, meals came out after an hour two at a time, and some did not get served until complaining that they were missing a meal. Server did not bother to check on our table to see if we needed anything, no one asked us how our meals were or if we needed anything. Had a beer bottle top in a mountain dew and manager did not feel need to apologize, "must have flew in there when bartender was opening a beer." Apologies did not start until I literally said I don't know how many times I need to say this service is horrible before someone notices, in front of manager. Arrived at 12:00 pm and at 1:29 still do not have bills figured out. Do not eat here, service is awful and food is worse than the service. Ate because we were so hungry, not worth leaving and starting over.

The food was good cannot complain but the service was horrible and I consider myself to be pretty tolerant. I have experience in the food industry.. It was a slow night 20mins to get a menu and the cook brought our food out and our server was blabbing at the bar most the of time. Never even asked if the food was good or needed a refill .. Consumer beware good food poor service.

Pretty much the worst Restaurant/Bar in Kato. Not only are the servers completely horrible but the food isn't that great either. Our server was Gabriel and she had better things to do than wait on customers. We waited 10 minutes before even having the waitress come to our table. She was too busy talking with some apparent friends at the table right next to us. Then we had to ask what was on tap... She didn't even know what Mankato Brewery was. Then we waited about another 10 minutes for a menu and then another 15 to order. It may have been poker night but it was NOT busy. She got our order all wrong and the food was mediocre. Worst waitress ever.. Couldn't even bring myself to give her a tip. But I tipped her a penny. Overall, I spent 30 minutes longer in this dive than I wanted to. It was only worth half of the $30 I paid. Pitiful.

This place is great for greasy hangover breakfast or for a great burger. They recently started updating their interior spaces which is a HUGE improvement. I hated the baby blue walls and I'm happy or the changes. Live music almost every weekend. The reason they are getting 3 stars is for some food quality issues. My husband ordered cheddar broccoli soup and a turkey sandwich. The sandwich was sad looking with cheap gas station bread, some slices of cold cut turkey, and floppy tomato. The soup was so thick that he could turn the spoon upside down and it would stick to the spoon without a drop. He sent the soup back and asked for tomato Basil. It didn't look like an improvement and my husband told the server this. She asked if we'd like to know how they make the Tomato Basil soup and of course we said yes. She told us that they take the tomato basil spaghetti sauce they serve with their pasta and mix it with a little half and half, then abra cadabra you have soup. Are you kidding me? Now I want to know how yet make that cheddar broccoli cement they call soup. I will stick with a burger next time.

This place has some killer burgers bacon peanutbutter burger is one to try suprisingly good they also have great bands on the weekends we saw a Prince tribute called Ovation there they were Great ! I will see the band again and I will eat and drink here again too!

You can always expect to hear a better than average band on the weekends at Buster's. They work pretty hard at getting the local favs regularly... I've seen Hairball, Dazy Head Mazy, Zed-Leppelin and Uncle Chunk. The place gets a decent crowd and they have pretty good grub too. They boast about their sirloin, and have an extensive burger menu. Breakfast & Bloodies on Sundays during football season is usually a good time - plenty of big screen TVs.
