I'll start off by saying that I'm not actually a fan of most of their food. It seems all "homemade" and stuff, but I get the feeling that it comes out of a freezer and bags. I do like fried okra, and I don't really know of anywhere else that has it. But where they really shine (at least in my opinion) are the pancakes. I don't know what it is about them but I sure do like them. The edges get kind of crispy, and the middles are nice and fluffy and do a great job of soaking up the syrup. So food wise, probably a two star place. Unless you get pancakes...

My friends had come here previously and told me about the amazing ribs they tried here so this time me and 2 other people came to try this place out. I was first disappointed by the fact that the menu had changed and no longer had the ribs that I came to try. But if you are a fan of breakfast food all day long, they did have both the breakfast menu and lunch/dinner menu available. I ended up ordering apple raspberry iced tea and salmon patties instead. While waiting for the food, I enjoyed playing some checkers with a friend. There were other board games available so it was not boring at all while waiting for the food. The iced tea was great and who can complain when they give you free refills! :) The salmon patties were alright as well but it wasn't the most amazing food I have had. They also gave us cornbread and biscuits. My friends ordered steak and potroast, which they said tasted good. I will add that the salad that came with the steak was amazing. The lettuce was crisp and fresh with lots of other condiments. I would definitely like to come back for the ribs when they come back on the special menu to see if this restaurant is worth coming for.

If you can beat the after-church rush it is a great Sunday breakfast restaurant. If you can't beat the church rush, well, you'll see a line out the door and people rocking in the 30 rocking chairs outside as they endure their 40 minute wait. This is why we go before church. Tell no one our secret. The wife and I particularly like this place simply based on the price. You get soooo many breakfast feast items for soooo few dollars. We smile when our check arrives which you just don't do anywhere else. It's that cheap. We've ordered one of everything I feel off of the breakfast menu. If you're having grits on the side, always ask for the jam'n'apple butter. Mix this into the grits and go to town. Delicious. Eggs are always cooked properly but be sure to salt and pepper them yourself. Anything with the word "sticky" in it is too sweet. Avoid. You can't go wrong with pancakes but the portions are huge so it's easy to fill up on those. We are still working on how to balance the portions, our taste desires and our hunger level even after being here dozens of times. While we cannot vouch for anything other than breakfast, I bet it is also delicious. This will continue to be our breakfast place in Lakeville over Perkins and Buckboard. The service, food quality and flavor, cleanliness and price just seals the deal. Be sure to buy some retro candy on the way out that you'll think you'll eat later. You won't eat it because you'll be full all day but maybe you can eat it tomorrow. Good luck and wear fatpants.

Always a fan of any Cracker Barrel! The only negative is when it is busy, it is so loud, it is hard to hear others at the table.

This is my favorite restaurant ever. Meatloaf is my favorite and everything is always good. Waiters and waitresses are super friendly and the owner is too. The store is great and has old fashioned candy our kids love. Cute clothing, seasonal items, house stuff, candles, toys etc... I love it. Shop while waiting for your food... It doesn't get any better than that!

I originally had this during my travels in the past (don't recall the state), but I'll rate this location since I visited twice. The service is somewhat slow, so that's a downer. I know the volume of people that come in is high, but I should probably not come starving here, lol. The value for the food is as good as the awesome, homecooked taste of the food. Just order what you feel like, because I haven't had an experience where I wish I didn't order X item, but I have run into the experience of wanting to order what another person in my party has ordered. The country store is a nice treat to pick of novelties while you are waiting, and I always get the candy canes of different flavors. I recommend trying the item of the day, since it rotates (obviously).

Great place for southern cooking. I have only tried breakfast here but what I have had was good. It reminds me of the Perkins chain. Consistent. Service is pretty good but they do get very busy for breakfast on the weekends and then you wish you have more servers as the service gets a little slow. The little store before you enter the dinning room is a nice way to have kids whine about buying something as they have lots of cool stuff. Not a bad place. Worth a stop.

I really do love the home cooked feel that there food has. But I could never get passed the sign as you walk through the front door about who they serve and it never matters about race, creed etc. but they never mention sexual orientation which brings me back to the old lawsuit about them firing someone because they were gay? I dunno, it is just hard for me to patronize a place who "allegedly" segregates people. Once I can get passed that political piece, the food is pretty darn good.

One of our families favorite spots to stop in this area. Probably because of the mind game challenge on the tables but the home cookin as well. Generally fast service even on busy days. I don't think we have ever waited longer then 20minutes at this hot spot. If there is a short wait don't worry plenty of things to look at in their general store...

So dam good. Minne is missing good southern food, and Cracker Barrel delivers. I can't believe I've never been given how close it is to where I grew up! My bf and I were driving back up to Mpls and stopped here on the way in. They have sweet tea, and it is SWEET! I ordered the Country Fried Steak with cheesy grits, hashbrown casserole, and fried okra. My bf ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken with mac and cheese, corn, and fries. We couldn't decide between biscuit or cornbread, so they brought both out - so nice! I liked my steak better than the chicken, and my fave sides were the mac and cheese and hashbrowns. The portions were huge, and I could only eat half of my dish. The service was great - our server was prompt, attentive, and kept the tea flowing. Very happy with my experience and will be back to try breakfast!

I've never liked eating here, but my grandparents love it. Ate here yesterday, (the only thing I ate all day) and now I have one of the worst cases of food poisoning I've ever had!

I have driven by this place every single day for the past 8 years, yet I have never stepped foot in here until just a couple days ago. I always see the parking lot packed from morning to night and always thought that the food must really be that great. But, for me food was just okay. Typical original American fare. We ordered BBQ chicken and broccoli cheddar soup. To our surprise it was seriously brought to our table in under 5 min! Amazing! But, just because it was quick does not mean it was hot. The temperature of the food was warm. I understand that soup is made generally once a day and kept warm in a pot, but I feel as my soup was previously cold and not heated properly. Also it was not the best broccoli Cheddar soup I have had. The chicken was delightful and juicy, but once again it was not very hot. I noticed that a majority of the customers are older folks. So, is Cracker Barrel worried that they will burn themselves? Just a thought. Also, I will pass on corn bread next time, it was some of the worst I have had. Our server was great though and kept our cups full and was very polite. That is why they get 3 stars instead of two. I do plan on coming back and giving breakfast a try though, it will be their last chance to win me over.

Ham slice was overcooked and super salty. Grits were tasteless. Gravy was metallic tasting

Super BUSY on a Sunday morning! The wait was about 45 minutes, I ordered the Chicken Dumplings which was literally water and dough with some chicken pieces. Super bland. I was pretty disappointed. As for my chicken rice soup that was a bit disappointing too, pretty salty! My side order of bacon was not that great either, the bacon was soft and not at all crispy. A return for breakfast joint, I'd say probably not.

It's what I expected... I am from NC so this place was the first since I left NC 7 years ago. I actually go for the vegetables. I miss my fried okra, green beans and mashed potatoes. They had fast service for Memorial day. The parking lot can be a challenge because this restaurant does attract an older age group. So be aware of your other drivers and be patient.

This is my favorite place for breakfast! I've only been here a handful of times for lunch, but breakfast is where it's at. Both my boyfriend and I are early risers so we usually come in on Sunday morning. Biscuits, fried apples, a side of grits and sweet tea are my usual thing. I'm a pescatarian so I'm glad I can come to a place that serves a lot of meat and still get enough to eat and more then just 2 options. I'm a granny at heart, so I'm a fan of the decor and all the old time vintage candy, there are so many fun vintage toys and knick knacks to check out after your meal or while you wait. Eat here, it's the Sugar Honey Iced Tea!!!

Good breakfast joint. Stopped by here today at 12:20 for a late breakfast. There was a half hour wait - which we expected given the time on a Sunday. The breakfast food was very good for the price with large portions. I ordered the Country Boy breakfast which is a grilled to order sirloin steak, pork chops or ham - I went with the Sirloin which I asked to have cooked medium rare and received medium rare. It came with 3 eggs - any style (I picked sunny side up), 2 buttermilk biscuits, country gravy, preserves, fried apples (think fresh made apple pie filling), cheesy hash brown casserole and grits. It was a LOT of food and everything was made freshly from scratch and correctly. The only thing I felt was missing was some toast for the eggs - yes, I understand that I had biscuits, but I wanted to dip some toast (I could have ordered 2 slices of white or wheat sourdough toast for like a 1.45 but I had more than enough food going and frankly didn't think of it right away). The service was exceptional - attentive, friendly, prompt and professional. They clearly have their A-Team working on a Sunday morning. All in all my huge breakfast was like 8.99 and my large orange juice was a bit more - making this mountain of good breakfast food a fair deal. I suggest this place if you are hungry and in the mood for a great fresh breakfast.
