Two rules of food service and retail: 1) Speak to your customers. They are the ones paying your salary. 2) If you are bored or have nothing better to do, standing around talking to your coworkers or getting on the phone is not an option. CLEAN! And now I'm going to add a Yelp rule: Just because the first and closest thing for which you are searching on your Yelp app pops up doesn't make it the best place to go. Yesterday I said I wanted to have Chinese food. Since I was out at the St Louis Park Byerly's, I did a search and King's Wok showed up as being under two miles away on Excelsior Boulevard. We all know you shouldn't judge an establishment by its storefront, however, it can be a good indicator. At first glance the interior looked decent. It wasn't until I went to go wash my hands that I noticed that this place needed some TLC. There were so many water spots on the mirror, all the Spot-X Hard Water Stain & Spot Remover on Amazon.com couldn't remove these spots. Then, looking under the drink machine, there were dust bunnies the likes of which haven't been seen since the last Ice Age. At least it appeared the tables were wiped down. (I hope) The only reason I bring this up is because instead of cleaning, the staff were standing around talking to each other. Later, one of the 'hostesses' was getting a chair massage from someone right there in the restaurant near the register! When that was over, she got on her cell phone and was seating people and running the register while on the phone. If you decide to have a business, focus on your customers! The food was meh. Some of the food didn't look fresh, and as far as selection goes, there wasn't a lot. Seriously, you'd be better off going to Super Moon Buffet on 394 in St Louis Park or 98 Pounds in Bloomington on 98th Street. A food court 'Asian' restaurant would be just as authentic if not better. You'd spend about the same at $10 per person. This place must have really gone down hill since the past reviews. I really would like to give King's Wok 1 1/2 stars, but I'll be a bit generous. How do you screw up rice? They somehow managed. The Hot and Sour Soup and Beef Broccoli were the best items on the menu. I guess I'll need to clarify the next time I look for food: not only look for some place nearby, but make sure it's good.

A place where people remember you come with two others.... :) I make it to this buffet on my lunch hour quite often, even have our own booth, lol. Inexpensive, good classic Chinese buffet food. I typically just go for my five favorites... But my co-workers can't seem to leave without the icy, ice cream. lol

I went here for lunch today and the food was plentiful! With several buffets set up, there's something that is bound to feed everyone. As is true for many Chinese buffets, there are few health-some foods to behold. However, the cream cheese wontons were tasty, as well as the garlic chicken. The hot and sour soup is too salty for my taste though.

This place is a hole in the wall but their food is good & a great value. The sesame chicken, beef & brocolli, & spicy pork are very good & always fresh. You can get their buffet to go & it's a flat rate of only $7.50. So cram as much food as you can in that container!

One of my favorite hole in the wall Chinese joints! Although the service & decor leave something to be desired, the food is great! I love the egg rolls, pepper chicken, Korean chicken, fried fish, sesame chicken & green beans. The other selections are pretty good too, but those are my favorites. I suggest going at peak lunch or dinner because they don't refill the buffet until things are gone. Ask for extra napkins when u sit down, they only give you one and you probably won't see the wait staff again. Overall the food & selection are great, it's not gourmet, but for the price it hits the spot!

Horrible. I ordered beef broccoli to go and it was the worst beef I've ever had. Super fatty and not tender. And there was maybe three heads of broccoli in my small tub portion with mostly white rice. Never going back.

Not fancy but inexpensive and quick. I usually get two nights worth of meals for about $10. I have never had any problem with the food or service for takeout. If you want inexpensive Chinese food, King's Wok is a good place to go. It also has a large dining room if you plan to dine at the restaurant.

Their sesame chicken is good and I love their cream cheese wontons. But it's gone downhill. It once was ham fried rice, but last time I went I'm pretty sure it was bologna fried rice. Too bad, it used to be a good little lunch spot.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
