We've been driving past Dan's every Monday for years and always wanted to stop, but they are closed on Mondays. Yesterday (Sunday) we finally had a chance to go in, and we are glad we did! The food was really good, they have your basic favorites that one would hope most bar and grills have, and then they have some real interesting and unique items on the menu to choose from. I had the Scooter Burger and my friend had the French Dip Burger. Both stuffed burgers were out of this world. The drinks were also very reasonably priced! It did take a little longer than average for the food to come out, but it was well worth the wait!

Quick lunch service and impressive menu given it's rural location. Plan to visit again in the future.

I was pleasantly surprised for a smAll town bar and grill this place is good. Everything I've had there so far has been great. The service has always been excellent. We often take the long way home to hit this one. The bartenders are good too. Never had a complaint and their bloody Mary's, mmmmmm!

Walked in, waited to be seated as the sign said...waited, waited, waited...so we went to sit at the bar. Cramped, but that was all there was. Ordered our drinks, Bud Light for my friend and a double Jameson neat for me with a glass of water. One bartender disappeared and they were SLAMMED! Tried to get the bartenders attention for menu's and finally did. Waited again to order and finally did. Discovered that my seat and the dirty dish/glassware drop-off were one and the same. I would have moved except we were already packed in. Watch your booze. Went to wash my hands, left my wallet, phone and shades at the bar next to my friend, and while I was gone, they took a full glass of booze from inside the circle of my things, then, didn't want to give me new one. Not a fan of people messing with my spirits. My bud didn't notice the theft because he was trying to get the one bartenders attention. But anyway, how do you take a nearly full lowball of booze from a place where someone is OBVIOUSLY sitting (phone, wallet, sunglasses)? I told the bartender what had happened, thinking she might have taken it, and she gave me a smile, like yeah. Finally, she splashes a bit of Jameson in a shot glass and gives me that, the promptly eff's off to parts unknown. Food shows up finally...we're talking about 45 minutes plus and we were sitting at the bar. The food was okay. Nothing great but not bad. As I'm eating my meal, I put down my glass of water, pick up my burger and in that moment, my glass of water was gone. They HAVE to move that drop off, or just lose the seat and put up a rail. This shit is ridiculous. Got another glass of water, and as I'm eating I see a hand coming for my jigger of Jamie...instead of forking it like I wanted to, I grabbed it and pushed the guys hand away. I mean WTH? I think it's safe to say that they were stupidly understaffed considering they were a shuttle to and from a local ball game with a post game happy hour and live band. The dirty dish/glass drop off needs to get moved, or get rid of the seat. And YOU NEVER TOUCH A GLASS OF BOOZE without asking the nearest person if they're done with it. It's the only game in town, so you're FUBAR if you want something different. Me? I think I'll keep riding until I find another place. Paid for a double, got a splash, and their $12 burger isn't worth it.

We've enjoyed our stops at dan's since moving to Rosemount. It's a scenic drive and menu is interesting and incentive (cream cheese wonton burger!). Drawbacks are that staff is friendly but seemingly uninformed, no baby changer in bathroom (mentioned multiple times), they charge for to go orders (though don't mention this when ordering) and fruit cup was old and overripe. Not bad for a small town dive bar but probably not worth the $50 lunch either.

This review is reflective of their Friday Fish Fry. I'm not sure what I would return to try, but I know it won't be their fish! For two years since starting my fish fry adventure in search of the very best, I've been told by so many people that Dan's is the place for Friday Fish Fry's. Well, people definitely like since there is always a wait and the locals will surely wait. There are certainly positives to take away from my first visit to Dan's; the filet's are plentiful, the badder is thin, instead of thick and disgusting and the fries are fantastic. However, I've had better and can certainly make better as well. It was the blandest fish found on the list, that's a guarantee. Might have to head back to try something else on the menu, but I'm not quite sure what it should be!

What is better than a Bloody Mary post-wedding dance morning? Not much. And Dan's Bloody Mary? One of the best. Spicy and smooth, this definitely takes the edge off all that keg beer you drank the night before. You may still feel the martini's but the throb has definitely faded. The triple stacked grilled cheese and sweet potato fries may have something to do with that too. Not only did this place serve up the perfect hangover cure, the service was super friendly, funny and welcoming. "Small town nice" does exist folks, and its right in Hampton, MN. In fact, the cook just so happened to see 3 ladies stumbling across the parking lot looking lost (because Dan's doesn't open till 11) so he opened it 15 minutes early for us. Thank you TJ. Thank you Dan's. We will be back.
