First time here and hearing all the rave... I got the special pasta and LOVED and will love it even more tomorrow. Hubby loved the ribs as did others In our party. I thought wine was a little over priced at $9 a glass for red, but thoroughly enjoyed the live music. Service was excellent. Be aware reservations well in advance are required. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely delicious food and excellent service. Can't wait to go back! The pulled pork and brisket are recommended!

Excellent food in quality, preparation and presentation! And the service? Nothing short of outstanding! We live 30 miles west of Minneapolis. When we want a nice meal we go to the city... Not necessarily the case anymore! The filet mignon was absolutely beautiful and tasted divine! The shrimp appetizer, delish! Everyone loved their dinner! I seriously doubted my husband when he told me this restaurant was incredible!! But I can say it, I was mistaken! This place is well worth the drive!

My husband and I were out for a rainy-day drive near our lake cabin and decided to drive to Grove City to FINALLY try Hog-n-the-Road. (We tried once before, but they're only open Thursday-Saturday and they were closed the day we drove over.) There's not much in Grove City, so the restaurant is a bit unexpected. Based on the name, I assumed this was a biker bar with good BBQ. Wow! When we walked in I was surprised by the modern but comfortable and somewhat rustic decor and that we were asked about a reservation. Who knew?!? We didn't have a reservation, but were happily offered a spot at the bar where we could order from the full menu. The menu had great variety - steaks, burgers, fresh seafood and an impressive wine list - not just BBQ. One really good Bloody Mary with house-made mix and a microbrew or two later my husband settled on Smoked Prime Rib with fries (a hard choice ... Prime or ribs???) and I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich with coleslaw and baked beans (simple, but my fav BBQ option). I'm not a big prime rib-eater, but I've never tasted a better bite of prime. It had a simple Rosemary crust and came out a perfect medium-rare, as ordered. The au jus was really an au jus lie, which is a thicker au jus. Even the skin-on fries were yummy and cooked to a perfect golden color. My pulled pork sandwich on the toasted brioche bun was delish. I really enjoyed their "spicy" sauce and the meat had some "bark" included. The baked beans were really good and I enjoyed the vinegar coleslaw (not too acidic) even though I typically enjoy creamy coleslaw. The service was top-notch - even as Lucas, the bartender serving us, got busier. The bar and wait staff seemed eager to please, worked as a team and seemed genuinely dedicated to providing a great experience. Besides the wonderful food, this is what stood out to me: 1. Be aware of their Thursday-Saturday schedule. 2. Make a reservation unless you'd like to sit at the bar, which is still a fine choice. 3. Arrive early in the evening for a good spot at the bar. Bar opens at 4, kitchen at 5 on Saturday. 4. Chat up the wait staff. They are super friendly! We. Will. Be. Back!

Best pulled pork I've had in the STATE; and I order it whenever-wherever. The brisket melts in your mouth, my husband looked like he was going to cry while he ate it, he thought it was so good. The slaw and beans were great. I was so full from my sandwich, but I just had to finish it. Like my husband said... Even the fries were done perfect. The BBQ sauce was perfect, the original was full of flavor, without being overpowered by anyone ingredient (I hate a tomatoey BBQ sauce). This was our first date night in months, so this time was special and we are always worried that a bad restaurant choice can make it seem like we wasted our precious baby-free time. I also used to waitress for many, many years so I feel I am very critical, but aware of the service and what is going on behind the scenes. Our waitress got 3 tables all within about 15 minutes of each other: a 14, 2 - us, and a 6 top. That's a lot for any waitress to handle. She did the absolute best she child have. Right after we placed our drink and app order, another 12 top showed up. I watched the waitress taking orders, So I know the kitchen got SLAMMED with two very large orders at the same time right before ours. We did wait a long time for our food, but under the circumstances, I think the time was as fast as the kitchen could have gone. We enjoyed our drinks and our baby-free conversation. I enjoyed myself so much, I forgot to continuously pester our babysitter to see how it was going :) which I'm sure she appreciated. I do have one minor complaint, it did get rather noisy. The building has beautiful high ceilings, and the all hard wood is gorgeous, but sound just bounces around. It didn't help that the spirits were flowing especially fast at the large group next to us and they steadily got more boisterous as the night progressed. We were still able to hold our conversation and enjoy some of the live music in the bar side. So like I said... Minor complaint. It was pricey, but if I figured correctly if you just got water, no apps, and sandwiches (amazing!!) you could get out of there for around $20 plus tax and tip. SO JUST GO ALREADY!!!

Living (and frequently dining) in Minneapolis has turned me into a bit of a snob, so when my dad said he was taking me out to dinner in Grove City, I was worried. However, I left after one of the best meals of *my life* feeling satisfied. The service was impeccable, my server tolerated my drunk dining companions with grace and patience and my water was never empty--and I never noticed her fill it (magic!). The atmosphere was loud, and trendy with live music from a local musician. The food was the best part, though. I had the sirloin with fresh green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. The sirloin was incredible! I ordered medium rare and I got medium rare, which is rare (lol). The mashed potatoes were great and the green beans were stellar. I did make a mistake in ordering the garlic potatoes--I had the pleasure of eating half of my dad's mashed sweet potatoes and oh my gosh, order them! They're truly sweet, and taste like Christmas and dessert. For actual dessert, I had a creme brûlée and it too was predictably delicious. Overall, I would recommend this place if you have a bit of extra cash to spend on some great food and vibes.

I feel this place is struggling from an identity crisis. The outside looks like a biker bar, the decor is fine dining-ish, the menu is priced upper scale, but the items are BBQ. The place is nicely decorated. Great bar and nice atmosphere. Live music on the weekends. The service was slow, but the place was busy, so I will extend grace. The low rating is mostly due to the food. It was overpriced and under flavored. The brisket was obviously cooked too long at too high a temp and the sauce was lacking balance. The beans tasted like they had been under a heating lamp for an hour. I will say that nightly special side was sweet potato fries, and they were great. I hope they can fix some things and work on the menu, because the place has a lot of potential. But the value is not there.
