We have a cabin not too far from here. Have been here a lot. Sometimes it is fantastic! Sometimes it is gross. Horribly inconsistent. If you can get it on a fantastic day, great and count yourself lucky. Decor is strange. Feels like I am eating in someone's living room and not a restaurant - and not in a good way. Service, once again, depends on the day. Sometimes awesome and sometimes I just have about walked out. Horribly inconsistent.

Had lunch here on Saturday, September 28th. The service was very good, but I thought the food was rather bland. I didn't care for the bread used for the burger bun. Though, the prices are good and it is a cute place to eat. Great views of Lake Mille Lacs.

The walleye filet sandwich was very good - the batter was unusually light and tender that it didn't overwhelm the fish. Same with the fish & chips which was Alaskan Pollock. Hash browns were perfect, and generous portion. Cole slaw was super fresh.

We love coming here for basic breakfast including eggs, bacon, and hash browns. Service is always good and the staff are friendly.

The food is consistently ok. The real problem I have here is the owners are very political and display their hate of the tribe, the DNR and I saw the wife wearing something derogatory about the pope on a tshirt. That's bad enough, I just want a bite to eat, I don't need the hate and hostility. But what really got me is as I'm biting into my food I look up at the pictures on the ceiling. I see one where maybe a dozen fat white old men are mooning the camera. Super appetizing guys, classy too. Nothing gets your appetite going than staring into a row of assholes. People that can't keep politics, racism and religion out of their business can get bent. I can get mediocre bar food somewhere else. I recommend the Y club, best menu in town.

We were up at our friends cabin by Lake Mille Lacs. This is a cute family owned restaurant. There is a dining area on the left and a bar area on the right. Service here was great. The waitresses were in constant motion taking food and drink orders and bringing out food as soon as it was ready. They give you a coffee carafe for those who drink a lot of it (definitely this girl!). They were very friendly on both occasions and deserve thumbs up! Food one day was ok and the next was good! I tried two different omelets and would definitely recommend the philly steak and cheese. Yum. The hash browns were good but here's the thing... On my first visit they asked if I wanted cheese on the hash browns. Sure because in my mind, everything is better with cheese. Well, when you barely melt a piece of processed sliced cheese, it really wasn't better. Oh well. With their friendly and welcoming environment, I wouldn't mind stopping back. Strong 3.5 from me.

Stopped in for breakfast. Had walleye and eyes. Nice size fillet of walleye, eggs, hash browns, and toast at a resonable price. Good service, older small building, but lots of character and charm. Will stop by again when in the area.
