Andrew the bartender is great! Also, try the sweet potato nachos!! Delicious! Can't wait to come back another pineapple upside down martini!!

No bread, no salad, no seasoning on the food. The fettuccine was horrible and bland. The walleye was just ok. I've given this restaurant 3 tries and none have been good. I don't think I will try again.

My husband was off work for Veteran's Day today, so we thought we would finally take the opportunity to have a nice lunch at Alexander's, as we hadn't checked it out yet. Unfortunately, we were both fairly disappointed in our food. I ordered the Craisin Chicken Salad, which came with what was quite obviously a reheated piece of day-old chicken. It looked and tasted awful! I was so disappointed, as the rest of the salad looked quite delicious! But I just had to send it back, as day-old chicken is just not acceptable. My husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger. He was not asked how he liked it cooked, so we presumed it would be cooked to a standard medium/med-well. His burger came still very pink and so soft in the middle that it really just fell apart when he tried to bite into it. Likewise unacceptable, so he sent his food back, too. On the plus side, the service was very gracious and apologetic, as they gave us something else (I only had 30 minutes left off lunch break, so couldn't wait for a fresh salad to be made.) It will likely be a while before we return to Alexander's, which is really disappointing since we live within walking distance and we were so thrilled to have a new "favorite" neighborhood restaurant to go to. Oh, one more thing.....knowing that there used to be a stone hearth for pizza, when it was Monte's, I was really hoping there would be Neapolitan style pizzas on the menu. No go. Another disappointment.

I'm from Faribault so I went home to visit some friends. This is a small town with very few restaurant options. I heard about Alexander's from my parents and deceided to try it out with friends. It is in a beautifully remodeled old building with exposed piping and brick. There's a nice bar towards the back as well as a lounge/bar in the basement. They have a limited menu but felt there was something for everyone on the menu, fish, pasta, steak burger, etc. This is a bit higher end restaurant and food but felt the prices were reasonable. The service was great from our waitstaff, bartender and host. With a few improvements I would give it five stars, our steaks were a bit over cooked when we asked for medium rare, they came back med to med well and the wine menu was a touch limited. Also, we ordered an oldfashioned in the bar and it wasn't on par with a lot of drinks I've had but all in all it's a good place to go, great addition to Faribault!!!

Loved the atmosphere of the upstairs back bar. Great Cuban Sandwich and Cheese Curds. Look forward to returning for dinner.

Went for lunch. Atmosphere is very nice and cozy and service was attentive without being obnoxious. I got the special, a southwest chicken wrap with tortilla chips, and it was outstanding. Another in my party had what looked like an awesome sandwich and at least a pound of hot, crispy fries. The other was less than satisfied with her soup/sandwich combo. Server offered to bring her something else but she declined. But the offer was appreciated. This could now be our regular lunch spot but I'll also need to make a point of going for dinner.

This establishment should be ashamed of themselves. We went there yesterday morning, Sunday, during the brunch hours. We were greeted by a waitress who never did smile, and acted the entire time as though we were cutting into her day! The service was extremely poor, slow, tedious. When we arrived, there were very few people there. Our table was for 8. When we finally did get a chance to order, she started with "Sorry, we don't have salmon today....", "Sorry, we don't have sour cream today....", "Sorry, we don't have bloody Mary mix today....". (She had just served one of our party a bloody Mary and the table next to us.) Finally we found some items on the menu that they did have. We ordered. Never did get the other drinks that we ordered from her. 15 minutes later she came back to say she was sorry, but the kitchen told her it would be an hour before our food was ready! The entire place that had come in behind us (minus the two tables that were already there), had been served! The time was one hour before closing! She offered us the option of leaving if we didn't want to wait! (3 children with us....tell them to wait an hour!). We left immediately, but have to say I have never experienced an event such as this. It is a relatively new restaurant and my advise to anyone considering going here is to go somewhere else! Avoid the disappointment. We went to another local establishment, The Depot, where we were greeted and seated immediately, given hors doeurves within 5 minutes, treated respectfully and efficiently! Very impressed with The Depot. Extremely unhappy with this Alexanders.
