Joey Nova's pizza is delicious! The chef is outstanding & manager Anna attentive, hard working, and one of the most thoughtful person we've ever met. With great beers on tap - we love the slice & beer combo! We love to take the 4 & 5yo bowling at Country Club Lanes, then over to Joey Nova's. This little date is one of their favorites!

I grew up on slices every day after school and family outings to the local pizza joint on Sunday nights. Thats how it was to be a kid on Long Island in the 60s. College years in Boston - more great tradition from joints named Pino's and Sal's. So I marry a farmer's daughter from northern Minnesota and here I am at 60 in the Twin Cities - with a hankerin for a dynamite slice. And whaddya think - here's Joey Novas !! This is the real deal - old school mozz and oil and crust. And the slices are enormous. When my mom comes out to visit from NY this is her favorite place too - and I m tellin you, it takes me back. This place is a treasure. Don't miss it.

I've been here a few times. Love the thin crust pizza. My kids had the typical cheese and they couldn't get enough. I had pepperoni and green olive. It was delicious! The service was fast too. We enjoyed our little visit here. The kids said it was their favorite pizza! I think we will be back.

I've been around in the Minneapolis - St. Paul pizza scene, and I have to say that Joey Novas is my favorite place in the cities. Nothing extravagant, fancy, or pretentious. Just straight up good New York style pizza. Crust is perfect, and the sausage taste like homemade, which it probably is. The service is always very, very, very friendly, and they will always remember your face. My wife and I consider this our go-to place when we need good comfort food. Do yourself a favor and try this place, you will not be disappointed. Don't get anything too fancy and just try pepperoni and sausage for the best basic pizza you'll find in the cities.

Great pizza ny style. Jalapeños nice and hot. Garlic bread cheese great. Good artisan bread. Top it off one of the cooks gave us half his off menu fish sandwich and IT WAS AWESOME!! Add to menu!

The place is packed on the weekends and rightful so! Delicious, high quality pizza with good service to go with it! We have also ordered the cheese bread which was equally great! Can't wait to get there early enough to try the homemade cheesecake before they sell out!

6 star food, 2 star service so we typically order to go. The pizza is great, in my opinion the fewer toppings the better for the crusts sake. When your dining in its a order at the counter / no server sort of place

So we decided that today was going to be pizza night. Came here to the ever so trusty yelp to find a spot nearby. No dice, so scrolling through and reading a bunch we decided on this place. My girlfriend is from NY and one particular review sold her on this place. On the drive order we made an order, pretty solid deal was given to us on two pizza. Got there and she saw a pizza laying out and she was in love with the sight already. We got our pizza, ordered a couple cannoli and took off. Got home, pizza was fantastic, had a good little bite to it, great flavor. Loved it. Cannoli was also fantastic we are going to go back and order off the menu sometime. I was impressed and she felt like she had a taste of home.

Great version of NY style pizza right here in Minneapolis. After moving to the Midwest from NY years ago, I've been looking for great NY pizza with very limited success, but I can say that here, the cheese, crust, and spicy oil were pretty close to the real thing. Apparently they use a "60 year old recipe" so they must be doing something right. The interior is small with decor reminiscent of an urban pizzeria with the requisite Italian theme. You order at the counter and they bring the pizza to your table- drinks are self serve. I ordered one large plain and one large special- both were great, but if you're a traditionalist like me, go with a plain, maybe with extra cheese or one topping, that way you can appreciate what a good NY style crust should taste like. I went on a Sunday @ lunch and it was not too crowded but I can imagine Sat and Fridays may be a different story. It will definitely be my first choice for pizza when I'm in the western 'burbs. Only negative- they close at 10, even on weekends!

Passed this place 100's of times, finally stopped to try for a quick lunch. Slices are huge, and only 3.75. Best pizza I've had in Minnesota. Wish I would have tried sooner!

I can say things like "pie" and "half plain" and no one gives me the side-eye. The cannoli are a little heavy for my taste, but this pizza rivals some of my favorite spots back home. Service is fast and friendly. Always worth the trip from Chaska whenever I need to fill the northeast-pizza-shapes hole in my heart ... Beats the heck out of smuggling slices back in my luggage

Always have wonderful food and the service here is EXCELLENT. My dad picked up a pizza here two days before Christmas and the person at the cash register overheard him saying that it was my 21st birthday. The manager had everyone sign a pizza box with birthday wishes and had my dad give it to me (since I wasn't even there.) This was two years ago. I still have this box. Love this place. A hometown restaurant you love to support.

Pizza is great. Although, on this particular night the service has been TERRIBLE. It has taken 40 minutes for two slices of pizza. The restaurant isn't even a quarter of the way full. The food is so good though, so it's worth it. 4 stars!

What a find. Was busy on a Friday night but service was friendly and fast. You order at the register, grab a number and find a booth. Big comfortable booths. Big screens everywhere. We ordered the wings and the East Coast Assorted Hot Sub. Both were awesome. No national sub chain can beat Joey Nova's. They also made great suggestions for beer and the manager was kind enough to stop by and ask how our meal was. She was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean. Parking in a strip mall lot. We parked ten feet from the front door on a busy night. Many outdoor tables. Family place. We will be be back.

This is our favorite pizza and much more casual restaurant. Always great service. We love the family environment, from the little ones to the grandparents. We love the single slice "custom" pizzas. Just the right size. The meatballs are always perfect. Then there's the desserts ~ oh my!!!

I love this pizza. They call it East Coast style, and it's the closest to a good NY slice that I've found so far in Minneapolis. They also sell by the slice, and you can customize with the toppings you want. One of the clinchers for me is they also have anchovies available as a topping, and they top it generously. The service is fast and friendly. Order at the counter, find your own table, and they bring the food when it's ready. We ordered a large pizza (16") with two toppings and that came to about $20. There's also a medium and XL option (19") - in the future I'm going XL for sure. We also ordered some wings (decent) and pasta (delicious). They also have microbrew beer/wine and malts/milkshakes, but the real attraction for me is the pizza. I first tried the location in Plymouth but that closed down a couple years ago. After a few years I had to have it again so I made the trek to Excelsior and was reminded of how much I loved this pizza. I will be back more often and definitely any time I'm in the area.

Without a doubt, the best pizza I have had in my 45 years on this planet. It was neat that the cashier also was named the same as my daughter, Anna Maria, too. The crust was absolutely delicious. The pizza was very light, and not heavy, either.

The pizza slices were huge and the thin crust was awesome! Kids said the cheese pizza was the best. My wife raved about the margarita pizza and I loved the Red White and Blue pizza. We split a pretty decent salad, too. The caramel sundaes for desert were unbelievably delicious! But the best part of the whole experience was the staff. Every single employee we interacted with was so nice. There's a lot of good pizza out there but fabulous pizza, fabulous ice cream, and fabulous service and staff is a rare gem. We'll be back soon.

I love this place. Excellent pizzas and calzones. Their crust is perfect. Sauce is great too. (I'm Italian so that's a rare compliment). The manager seems to remember everyone by name. Friendly staff. Inexpensive beer and wine sections available to go with your perfect pizza. They deliver too. So glad to have this place in my neighborhood!

Being a transplanted New Yorker it's hard to get a pizza to taste like home. But then, there is Joey Nova's, one bite I felt like I was shoulder to shoulder in a crowded little place I liked in Brooklyn, but walla! You open your eyes and you are in Kansas actually Tonka Bay just out side Excelsior, but you get what I mean. This has become my favorite Go To pizza place. The service is a little New York, you order at the counter take a number on a stand and one of the local beauties will bring your order. Fountain drinks are self serve too. They have a nice selection of beer and wine.

I LOVE Joey Nova's. I go there way too much but everything on the menu is so good! I have to stop going there because it's unhealthy to eat pizza and wings as much as I do but whatever. They have healthy selections too and their sandwiches are really good and probably the best sandwich place in all of Excelsior and Chanhassen. It's right by my house and all the employees there are extremely friendly and courteous 100 percent of the time. Try this place out in Excelsior! Excelsior' grateful to have this small little gem of a restaurant.

This is the first place I've been to in the Midwest that claims to taste like NYC pizza and actually pulls it off. My family lives in Manhattan and I indulge in NYC slices from various spots throughout the city on my visits. I was worried when my girlfriend suggested we come here, but I'm so happy I did. I've only had the large/x-large cheese, but man is it awesome! Add some parm and sriracha on top to add a little kick to an already great pizza. In addition to the tasty pizza, the customer service is superb. Every time I go in there someone greets me with a hello and smile. There's a great welcoming aura about the place and the employees/cooks always come around to ask how everything is tasting. The attention paid to customers here is, sadly, not seen in many other restaurants. This keeps me coming back and telling people about Joey Nova's. I'll for sure be bringing my rec basketball team here after our games on the weekends and chowing down on those x-larges!

Consistently phenomenal pizza. We get the medium size and the crust is perfect (I've heard that they use the same amount of dough for all pizza sizes). Great service whether we pick up or dine in and a really great family atmosphere.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
