Had lunch here today. Was expecting great things. Sadly I was disappointed. We started with the artichoke dip and crostini bread which was ok, however we ran out of bread and asked for more and we were brought a completely different kind of bread. On to the main corse: My wife eats pasta more than anything and I've never seen her turn it down. Saw her turn down the cheese ravioli! She had one bite and pushed it aside. It was undercooked and definitely not hand rolled. Came straight from a bag that I could buy myself at the grocery store. I had the Reuben...not horrible but not great either. Overall not a great experience. The view is wonderful but so are many restaurants in this area.

My experience here was so bad that it inspired me to write my first yelp review. The food was adequate. The service was terrible. It took half an hour to get our first beverage (most of which was spent waiting for our order to even be taken). That alone might have been forgivable, since the hostess apologized for the delay, but the appetizer order placed at the same time as the beverage order took another 20 minutes to arrive. (Does garlic cheese bread take that long?!?) That's 50 minutes waiting just for garlic bread! This is not my first trip here, but it will be my last. The average-to-good food does not make up for the experience as a whole. Finally, the dining room was half empty, so busy-ness was not the problem.

Everytime I visit here I always have an amazing experience. They have the best Chicken Marsala. The bread is great.... And they aren't cheap like Olive Garden. You get a whole basket of bread rather than 2 bread sticks. And not to mention the desserts they have are to die for. So if you're trying to eat healthy... Stay away! The turtle cheesecake will make you re-think your diet.

I would have put zero stars if possible. Let's start out with the service was terrible. Took 3 times and 10 mins to get a straw. My wife ordered a salad and she brought out penne pasta dish. When we told her the error she said "oh I wondered who that salad was for". The salad plates and bread sat on our table for the entire meal, and it wasn't until all 6 glasses of beverages were completely empty for her to ask us if we wanted more to drink. My daughter ordered the kids ravioli. The plate was 400 degrees, yet the ravioli was almost frozen. We would have sent it back to get heated if our daughter hadn't been so hungry. My wife ordered Mediterranean salad, with grilled chicken. $11.99. It came on a plastic plate, the chicken like the ravioli was still frozen, it was clearly like tyson frozen chicken too. My wife took the chicken off and ate yhe rest of the salad and said it was okay. I had the lemon butter seafood $19.99. There were no scallops, the veggies were clearly a frozen veg that was poorly reheated, the only thing fresh was the cherry tomatoes. I talked to the manager and she said they were having some huge issues tonight. She did comp our meal, I would have preferred to have a really good meal as our family loves itialian style food.

Traveled to Two Harbors for a friend of mine's wedding and the groom's parents rented out the restaurant for the grooms dinner. I figured it would be just a quick and easy meal quickly prepared and served, especially with so many people with our party. Turns out, my expectations were completely wrong! Each of us received the same meal, two samplers of a dish off their menu. one side of the plate was their Homemade Ravioli while the other half was their Spinach Garlic Tortelloni. The ravioli was delicious, but what I want to hit on was their tortelloni. When it comes to Italian dishes, this was easily one of the very best meals I've ever had and I've had plenty of outstanding Italian. The entire dish was devoured and I started eating my wife's as well. If it was just family instead of a room full of strangers, I would have asked for their leftovers as well! I can only imagine what the rest of their dishes taste like, but I can't wait to be back in Duluth to sample them! If you're heading to Duluth and you're in the mood for some delicious Italian food, this is a must a try during your visit.

My fav restaurant in Duluth! I recommend the build you own pasta meal. The Alfredo sauce with penne and sausage is very good. Anything you go with you'll love though. Meals costs around $20 with a drink per person

Pretty tasty food, the atmosphere has an outstanding feel, and the convenient location and prices make this a good choice for Italian in Duluth. I'm torn between 3 and 4 stars; I would have probably given 4 if either the service was a tad more attentive or the food was a bit warmer. I was pleasantly surprised to see the fair and affordable pricing on the menu; from the quality of the food and decor of the restaurant I expected higher. The service was really friendly although sometimes slow; I had to wait 10-15 minutes after finishing my entree to be able to speak to the waitress again. It was pretty busy when I arrived for lunch service, but there were still plenty of open tables and booths available. By the end of my meal it was slowing down quite a bit, and with all the waitresses I was puzzled as to why my waitress wasn't checking back. I tried the meat ravioli and a cup of meatball soup. The soup was terrifically delicious and slightly spicy, and the meat ravioli had good flavor. However, to me the ravioli felt like it was previously frozen (although still made in house) because of the texture. Most of my food was lukewarm and I would have liked it to be a little hotter. The portion sizes were decent for the price and I could easily eat the full size option. Lastly I had to try the Tiramisu since I was at an Italian restaurant; I almost wish I hadn't. I would have liked to leave on a high note after the ravioli and the soup. The Tiramisu wasn't bad, it just didn't have a lot of flavor. The problem with Tiramisu is that there is a fine line between soaking the lady fingers too much which results in a soggy Tiramisu and getting the right amount of flavor. With the portion I received there just wasn't much of any liquor or espresso flavor. It wasn't soggy at all, and the cream was thick and fluffy, but the lady fingers at the bottom were just bland. This would have been better served as a regular dessert rather than a Tiramisu. They do offer lunch specials, half-size orders for their pasta, and what looked to be very good pizza from what I could see being served to other patrons in the restaurant. Very large wine selection and a display case full of home-made dessert when you walk in. Again the staff is really friendly and helpful and I wouldn't mind coming back to try more.

Love the atmosphere and decor of this place. Brand new to London Road. Great food and views.

Italian food done well. The place has a rustic and welcoming feel - probably due to excellent natural lighting and lake front views (Lake Superior). Located close to downtown Duluth, a friend recommended this restaurant and he did not lead us wrong! I had the Walleye & Crab burger. Flavorful, though a bit heavy on the crumbs and a bit too much oil retention. But plenty of crab meat. All in all, a good hearty burger. My wife had the chicken & sausage pizza with pesto & feta cheese. The pizza definitely gets an A. One of the litmus tests I use for an Italian restaurant is Tiramisu. Not only do Valentini's make their own, its light, fluffy and smooth going down. The large helping went down quick between my wife, my toddler daughter and I. Last, I tried their Limoncello. Good one...not too much alcohol, but plenty of lemony flavor. Try it served on the rocks. Refreshing on a summer day by the lake.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
