I stay at this Holiday Inn 20+ nights a year so I've done my time at this joint. Convenience (it's in the hotel) and NTN trivia bring me back frequently; and I'm such a frequent guest that Becky (Wed-Sat) pours me a mean one. If you're looking for something more than booze and grub, take the shuttle to Canal Park.

The restaurant was inside a mall on the second floor. The waitress was pretty good. I ordered the fire cracker wrap and it was tasty, husband ordered the chopped sirloin and he loved it. The kids ordered the chicken and broccoli and they ate it all, so it was good. The women's bathroom was very small and there was not a changing table. Almost all dining tables were high top tables.

Holy cow do whatever you can to stay away from this place. Now I did have an open faced sandwich that was pretty good. I have to say the atmosphere around the place is absolutely horrible! Let me say this again, horrible people who you normally wouldn't hang out with are all around the place. And I walked into the place and there was this guy ( who I suspect is an employee) who was on his phone arguing with someone ( sounded like a girlfriend for the entire time I was there ) - pic enclosed LOL I got bit by fruit flies at the bar and the employees were milling about the entire place ... Holy cow NEVER again - go at your own risk!

my wife and i love the convenience of having this bar right under holiday inn especially when you get the munchies at 11 pm or midnight. service can be slow and depending on what food you order, some are okay and some are pretty tasty. but what did you expect? it's bar food.

Had a late meal due to arrival. Food was good but not fresh made Haven't eaten at enough sports bars to know if this is typical. Service was also good. Due to its convenience to Holiday Inn will probably return.

The main reason I ate here was that it is downstairs from the Holiday Inn and I had just run Grandma's Marathon, so I didn't want to walk far to eat. It had the typical TVs for sports, and it was easy to get a table (it was mid-afternoon). The bartender/waiter was friendly and my food came quickly. But the food was just okay. I ordered the french dip with cheese. Came with french fries. The dipping sauce for the french dip was WAY too salty. Took one dip and stopped using it. Ate half the sandwich. I love french fries, and these were the standard thinner fries. I love thinner fries, but these were nothing special. Bottom line- okay if you're in a pinch.

Sneakers i really tried to like you. I left you bo-coo tips. I practically did cart wheels just to get some er...attention out of your obvious hatred for your J-O-B. You really should try to learn some interpersonal relationship skills - that means uhm talking to your patrons and actually APPEARING like you're interested. But you don't and I'm sure that HI kisses your ass plenty so you will never change. F--K you.

Here's why I'm a fan...food and convenience. I jump in the elevator, hit 2, and I'm at the bar/grill. Jump back in the elevator, and I'm 20 ft from my room. Moral of the story...stay at the Holiday Inn. Food - I might get the same salad tomorrow night. Yummy. Service - I sat at the bar. It was okay. The bartender wasn't at all attentive. Also, I ordered a tall (the size of the tall beer is great) Winter Hook and it wasn't really "winter cold". Probably the warmest beer I've ever been served.

Nice that's it's in the hotel and I don't have to leave. Bar maid was friendly. Food was good.

Late night grub when I got into the hotel. It is located below the Holiday Inn. Food wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. I would eat here again. Rib eye was pretty thin, the wings were good. Blue Moon always tastes good.

Spoiler alert: BurgerDogBoy H-A-T-E-S sports bars. There would have to be something REALLY spectacular inside to get me in one, like the woman of my dreams, or at least the burger of my dreams. Such was not the case at Sneakers Sports Bar & Grill, inside the "Holiday Mall" downtown Duluth, MN. The "Holiday Mall" is basically a couple floors sitting underneath a Holiday Inn, which used to be the Normandy Inn, an offshoot of the Minneapolis hotel of the same name, which has been around since back in the day, and was always known for serving fresh, hot, popovers with every meal. (Whew, that was a long sentence). I don't think the Holiday Inn continued this practice. The Holiday Mall was also home to a large McDonalds, who apparently scooted due to either 1) economic reasons, or 2) getting bored with being the hangout of choice for the local street denizens. Anyway....sports bars. Ho hum. Usually loud, usually obnoxious patrons, usually the same menu coast to coast.... your burgers..your wings.... your...blah blah. Why can't a sports bar have at least a couple of screens on CNN? Or one of those lumberjack reality shows? Then I'd give them a passing glance. But I didn't have to go into Sneakers, tho I did once, and as previously hinted at, for one of my two only reasons....no, not the burger, but in hot pursuit of the woman of my dreams (ok, she was for that month). Minnesota Burger Reporter Kawikamedia and the Minnesota Burger Posse were in sneakers the day of the press conference announcing whether or not that senior citizen footballer Brett Favre was going to return to the Vikings for another season. Most of the Posse thought the food was passable, but the discerning palate of Kawikamedia could tell the patty neath the slice of pepperjack was previously frozen, as were the fries. He and I both share the notion that frozen patties have a certain "taste", which isn't present in fresh ground meat. Neither of us could tell you what precisely that taste is, but it lingers and doesn't make for all that pleasant of a hamburger experience. Add that to blaring TVs, loud and occasionally obnoxious patrons, street people wandering the "mall", and you have reason enough to sneak right past "Sneakers."

Typical food at a sports bar. Atmosphere is what you would also expect at a sports bar. We went during happy hour & the drinks were a good deal! I'd recommend this place if you're looking 4 something quick easy & fast w/out going to a fast food location.

Don't get the Gyro. There are two pieces of meat that are thinner that a thin slice of bacon. Go some place else.

We made the mistake of coming here for dinner while staying at the adjacent Holiday Inn. The food was undesirable, the beer was warm (says the husband) and everything smelled like warm stagnant bleachy water. Not a fan.

We had a late night and stopped in (staying in Holiday Inn). Their wings and beer hit the spot! Great wings and good service!
