We are very excited that The Inn has a new kitchen, remodeled inside and a great sun deck that overlooks the lake. It has sun from morning until sunset which you need in Northern Minnesota to stay warm. They have a limited menu so hope they add a few more thing including some vegetarian items. Our pizza the other night was delicious because of the crisp thin crust and fresh veggies. It was served timely and included a cool serving board, cloth napkins and plates. The thing that keeps being the downer is the service. Not enough good servers and continued service until you have paid your bill and ready to leave. Here's hoping they can get someone in there that knows that side of the business. We want them to succeed because its a great place to go when you need a break from Island Lake. Good luck Inn. Update: just had our recent visit for the start of the summer ( opening fishing at Island Lake) I must say IMPROVEMENT! They have veggie burgers with any topping oh I loved the Jalapeño Popper burger. The service was spot on, even with the Wild playing and the place packed. Well done guy in red shirt. Didn't get your name. Can't wait to be sitting on your deck in the warm sun and travel Island Lake on a pontoon. See you week after week Inn!

The best things about the Inn are, they have a decent beer selection and they are accessible from Island Lake. When the new ownership in 2015 took over, we were all optimistic that better food was coming. Boy were we wrong! Other than a few salads, the choices are pretty much the same. The food quality is usually very poor. Their pizzas are just OK the burgers are just OK and everything else pretty much sucks. The Inn should be a destination restaurant, instead it's a place to have a drink on your way to a destination restaurant. The ownership needs to raise their standards big time or sell.

Went last week with three others on Wed. night. No special on the board. Burgers all around. I had the mushroom and swiss, my go to burger, wish I had added fried onions because it was so dry I resorted to mustard and ketsup~which is an abomination on that burger. The bun was toasted~the only positive. The burger patty itself was unseasoned, dry, overcooked and lacking any flavor. Glad I stuck with chips because the fries my friends had were the homemade uncrispy kind. Margarita on the rocks nothing great either. I have been here before and would rather have frozen pizza or pb&j Two stars not one because my outlaw family ate their burgers and fries with no complaints or stated opinion~they paid and chose the neighborhood place to support. The one waitress was busy busing tables and ignored our attempts to get her attention~no wifi password for us. Oh, the flies were gross!

Excellent little bar with good bar food and daily drink specials. If you have a cabin on the lake, you can boat on over to their dock and have them worry about breakfast. Given how far you are from town and the dearth of other options, the lake is lucky to have a local like this.

Went for breakfast on a Monday holiday. Only one person working, poor gal. Hard to do anything well when you have to hostess, wait, cook, clean up and wash dishes. Food here has been sporadically good.

My parents live around the way from here, so we come here occasionally to get a good pizza or burgers. Its a typical little place, with typical bar food. Love that they have wifi, as my parents house cant get it.

When you pull up outside the ILI you know what you're getting into. I hear the bar side has been remodeled lately. I hope that doesn't affect the townie bar-ness of the place. The atmosphere always seems to be quiet. Not eerie, just... quiet. The food is cheap and good. Nobody here is winning any Michelin stars, but if you want a simple burger and fries you're golden.
