Great new little Sushi restaurant. My family was excited to see we finally were getting a sushi place nearby. My wife and I stopped by for lunch and found the service to be great and the food to be excellent. Prices were very reasonable, too.

Sake Sushi is a great start up restaurant in this area! They have quality sushi and energetic service. Our favorite menu items are the sushi for two platters. Reasonable prices for two with a filling amount of fresh sushi. Now that they've opened their bar I'm sure it's going to take off!

Wow! In the convenience of chaska, we have our own sushi place that is so good! Ordered Edamame: hot and salty California roll and crab and avocado roll is amazing. Super fresh and they make them in front of you. Hibachi chicken and rice is as good as Benihannas! Great and friendly service Beers in bottles $3.50 Highly recommended

I frequent the restaurant often during breaks or after I'm of with my family. I've always been satisfied with both my meal and service since the opening but in recent weeks, with the new waitress, I've had many instances where my order was wrong and who looked impatient when the restaurant isn't busy. I'm hoping this will change as this is one of my faviourite places. I highly recommend the happy hour nigirin if you are a sushi lover. And the hibachi fried rice is awesome!

Fresh and yummy! Didn't know this would be as good as it was. A hidden gem. Great decor inside too. Clean

Newly opened in Chaska Commons - Sake Sushi is great, My wife & I were very happy with our first experience at Sake Sushi. Upon entering you will be surprised and impressed with the remodeling that has taken place. A cool, modern style with warm earth tones and black set the scene. Seating is available at the sushi bar, tables and booths. Service throughout the visit was friendly and professional. The Food - we started with a Garden Salad. The presentation was clean and crisp as were the flavors and the ingredients. The dressing was a soy and vinegar instead of the usual ginger. It was very tasty. Sushi - we tried 3 different rolls, Spicy Tuna, Philadelphia and a Dragon Roll. The Spicy Tuna was very fresh, generously filled and tasty. The Philadelphia roll was also fresh and met our expectations. The Dragon Roll was one of the "special rolls" that always tend to catch my interest. I hope I recall all of the components - rice, spicy tuna, tempura shrimp, topped with lobster salad and a spicy sauce. Not only very beautiful but also tasty with the contrast of the hot shrimp and cold of the other ingredients. Each sushi plate was very nicely decorated and presented an feast for the eye. I would definitely encourage everyone to give Sake Sushi a try. We will be back to further explore the menu including many of the hibachi and other kitchen entrees.

Good sushi -- or Japanese food, for that matter -- is hard to find. Especially in Minnesota. Fortuantely, Sake Sushi which opened this month provides very good quality food, including a healthy variety of sushi offerings. Inside, the restaurant, is modern, clean, and dark, almost to accenctuate the fact that they're trying to be more "upscale and hip" in spite of being in a strip mall on the outskirts of the Twin Cities. That said, it is executed well, with clean decor, even if there is an incongruous filing cabinet next to the bar or an odd bit of artwork here or there that doesn't appear to match the rest of the decor. Service is excellent. Given that they've only opened a few weeks ago, they're probabaly staffed a bit for the time being. At a lunchtime meal, there appeared to be more waitstaff than occupied tables. Finally, the food -- there's a good variety ranging from sushi and hot appetizers to hibachi and noodle dishes. I tried a smattering of hibachi chicken, eel (unagi) and avocado roll, and the yaki soba noodles with shrimp. The hibachi chcken was well done, with good seasoning and a nice side of the sauce. It could have been a little stronger from a flavor profile, but overvall, positive. Presentation was straightforward (chicken on the plate), but the garnish included julienned radish with sprigs of lettuce on the sides, along wth a carrot carved intoa flower with a Maraschino cherry inside the flower. The eel roll was tasty and fresh, although it could have been rolled a bit tighter. The presentation was neat and stylizzed slightly with the eel sauce, and garnished with ginger and wasabi.. The yaki soba noodles were tasty, if just slightly overdone. The shrimp was excellent. The garnish was the same as the hibachi chicken. Overall, very good. The side of rice also had a slight garnish of black and white sesame on top, which is unusual -- a sign of attention to detail. Overall, I was very happy with my meal, the presentation and flavor. textures were good, and for sushi restaurants where freshness is absolutely critical -- everything was very fresh. Prices are a bit on the high side for the metro, but not necessarily outrageous. Kai's in Chanhassen is comparably priced, but this is to be expected for an "exotic" restaurant in the outer ring suburbs.

Excellent sushi! I love going out for sushi and I am super excited to have a place of this quality near home. The happy hour specials (also during lunch) are a great value. Check it out!

A must! I may have my new sushi favorite restaurant. Service and food is spot on. Steve at the sushi bar is an artist and very friendly. He created a great experience. Fish is very fresh, presentation is great, atmosphere is very relaxing, and service with a smile. Great drink menu! I will be back for more.

We are so lucky to have this establishment in Chaska! Everything is fresh and tasty. Nice decor and friendly staff. I highly reccomend the hibachi dinners. Happy hour at Lunch and Dinner! The fried rice and shrimp sauce are my new crave

Great happy hour and good sushi! The only downfall is the place is a bit small and they do mess up on cocktails time to time. Other than that service is good and its hard not to visit once a week!

Wow! All this in Chaska, MN?! My husband and I used to drive to Excelsior for good sushi (Yumi) after many disappointing experiences at the next nearest option (Kona), but no more! We are thrilled to have this gem so close to home. Try the BMW roll, you won't regret it.

I have waited for a sushi place to come to Chaska for years. I would have been happy with a sub-par sushi restaurant, but Sake Sushi is wonderful. The service was great and the servers were very attentive. My husband and I ordered a Black Dragon, Banana Tempura, Salmon Skin, and Shrimp Tempura roll, as well as the mango tuna special they had that evening. I love Dragon Rolls normally but it was my least favorite (and I still loved it) - their rolls are so delicious and unique! We also ordered the Tempura Banana for dessert, which was perfect. I'm so pleased with this place and I look forward to coming back many more times!

We finally checked out the newest restaurant in Chaska. I was a little skeptical with the low rent, strip mall exterior. However, the interior is much nicer. We only had takeout sushi on this first visit. The Angry Dragon, Yum Yum (w/tuna subbed for eel) and Amazing Tuna specialty rolls were what we ordered. All were very good. You get 8 pieces per roll, although some pieces were a little on the small side. We will definitely be back. The fire cracker shrimp and calamari aps sound good. Not sure where they fire up the hibachi stuff (they didn't have a grill table) but I'd be willing to check that out too. Ignore the tacky exterior and enjoy.

What a surprise; charming deco, reasonable price, full bar, and great food. I had the MJ Roll and it was fantastic.

This is an exceptional restaurant. My family has eaten here (including take-out) four times. Each meal was way beyond expectations. The dining room is not what anyone would expect to find in a suburban strip mall - shadowy, comfortable, functional, and relaxed. The people who work here are very good at what they do. Kitchen, sushi chefs, waitstaff, front-of-house are all there for one reason - to see that you have the best dining experience possible. It's nice to eat in a place where the staff is so obviously glad to have you there. I would rate their food the equal of any other Japanese restaurant in Minnesota. They wisely keep the sushi selections limited to what they can provide with the utmost freshness while maintaining an impressive variety. The rest of the menu is extensive, and from what I've tried so far, very well executed. Some plates are so well composed that it is a shame to eat them. Prices are reasonable. Sushi prices are about the same as Target/Byerly's, but the quality is at a much higher level, as you would expect. Once Sake Sushi gets its liquor license (in a week or two) I will never have to drive any farther to enjoy quality Japanese cuisine.

I tried this new sushi place in Chaska today. Overall, I was very happy with my first experience dining there - from food, great service, presentation, cleanliness...everything! I will definitely come back again. Try happy hour there too :)

I had noticed that Sake Sushi was new to Chaska, and wanted to try it out. I ordered Carry Out for lunch, and was happy to hear I could pick up in only 10 minutes. When I arrived, I was amazed at how beautiful the interior of the restaurant is. It looks like a high end sushi restaurant downtown. I was overall very impressed by the food, service and setting!

This place is a great little gem in Chaska. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The ambiance in the restaurant is very good and it is kept very clean. I truly hope this restaurant does very well as I have seen too many restaurants fail in that location. The prices are fair, I wouldn't say overpriced, but I wouldn't say cheap either. Let's be honest though, do you really want "cheap" when it comes to sushi? Highly recommend this place, check it out!

Sake Sushi arrived at just the right time for my local neighborhood. We have nothing but fast food and a local dive bar. Stop in, check it out. Not your normal strip mall "asian" establishment. This is an upscale, very tastefully designed local dinner spot that I will frequent on a regular basis. Sake menu was limited, but hit the spot. At $5 for a small carafe of Sho Chiku Bai Sake, I thought this was a nice way to kick-off dinner after a long day at work. I enjoyed the Sashimi Entree with 21 pcs of fresh, tasty nicely presented cuts of fish. My wife, not a fan of sushi or sashimi had plenty to choose from with a great selection of Hibachi dishes, but settled on the very light, tasty Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura. We ordered a large side of vegetable fried rice - extremely tasty, non greasy, some of the best I have tasted. Staff was great. Price was fair. Well done Sake Sushi! I will be back.
