Excellent and authentic. You walk up to the counter and order. There are photos of the items, but no descriptions. No fountain pop; bottled mexican favorites and other bottled soda. The staff was friendly and helpful and explained the ingredients and menu options. The food was prepared very quickly and brought to our booth. I had #21, chips and guacamole, $4. The guacamole was made to order, and was excellent and fresh. I also had #13, 4 tacos, $6. I asked for beans instead of meat as I'm a vegetarian. Instead of the refried beans you normally get at Mexican restaurants, these were like pureed black beans. The beans were very tasty and had a great texture. The tacos were very good, I would order them again. My husband ordered #7, enchiladas, $7. His options were chicken, beef, or cheese. He chose chicken. He really liked them. They came with the black beans and rice. The rice was moist. I didn't love the regular red salsa that came with the chips, but the green salsa and the salsa with the tacos were excellent. Restroom was clean. Lots of hispanic patrons, which I think is a good sign!

I can't tell you how amazing this food is. For those of you with tastebuds that crave predictability, stick to the other Mexican place in town. For those of you that want a fiesta en tu boca, go to Chaska My Love! Their menu is numbers based, and I couldn't make up my mind because everything looked delicious. I asked the cashier, "Ques es tu favorito?" and he replied with "Numero tres!" I took his suggestion and I couldn't have been happier. What is the numero tres? You'll have to go there and find out! Unique spices and flavors that you definitely won't find at the other Mexican place in town! I have a pretty high tolerance for spiciness and asked if I could get some spicier salsa than the red salsa that came with the chips. What they brought me was some of the best salsa I've ever had--it was a green jalapeno based salsa that had a good amount of heat, but some fantastic citrusy flavor too. There's no doubt that I'll be back here many times to try everything on the menu. Viva Chaska My Love!

Great place to grab authentic Mexican food. Some of the items you can't even make out or understand the name, which should tell you its authentic. There are pictures though. The staff is very friendly. They can tell you in English what an item is if you are confused.

It's real. More like Mexico Mexican food than what we're used to here from the southwestern part of the country. Think torta over taco. So why does it only merit 3 stars? Because I have no spicy taste buds. Seriously, give me Hunt's over Heinz. That's a warning to my taste bud deficient brethren. But if you insist on going, I recommend the flautas. Now, on the other hand, stating it's spicy might be heaven for some of you. If you're a spicy, sabroso needing type of person, order anything. They even have lengue. Dine-in, watch some Univision and if you're feeling really adventurous, culinarily speaking, have that tongue.

Husband saw restaurant & we finally gave it a try. Employees are very pleasant, just wish I can say the same about the food. Food was not fresh & seeing the microwave being used to make my food was disappointing! Over priced for microwaved food. This is not at all authentic & is very flavorless.

Used a groupon for this restaurant. Drove by it twice before finally seeing the small sign saying Mexican Restaurant. No Chaska My Love. My husband had the steak enchilada dinner which he said was very good. I had the tacos which were a disappointment. Luckily I added some of my husbands lettuce and fried beans and the guacamole we ordered with chips. I finally realized that the green salsa was meant to go with the tacos but the waitress/cook had placed it in front of my husband instead. Also forgot to give me a fork. A family came in and the food came out at different times and they had to be reminded of the nachos they ordered. Sorry, but this is one groupon that did not work for us. Restaurant at 66th and Nicollet in Richfield gets my 5 stars.

Excellent Find- the real deal if you want real, great tasting Mexican, real cheap- very authentic food, ok decor, funny name. Very fresh tasting food, Guacamole is as good as any place in Twin Cities. New booths are a real plus. Well worth a stop. Best lunch value in western 'burbs.

This is not a fancy restaurant, but rather a solidly good place that serves authentic Mexican fare to people who want to eat good food without spending a lot of money. It is popular with the small, but growing Mexican community in Chaska, and really seems to see this as its target audience. A personal favorite is the Torta Cubana, a sandwich that is one of those foods that everyone should, at some point in their lives, experience. Bring your appetite and a couple of bucks. You will leave happy.

Delicious, authentic Mexican in downtown Chaska. This restaurant is a walk up and order style place. The menu is small, but reasonably priced. There are pictures, but no descriptions of the dishes. There are no fountain drinks or alcohol, just bottles or cans of soda or water. I would highly recommend this place for a quick casual meal.

Food was pretty good, I think reasonably authentic. Prices are reasonable. But it is not a dining out experience type restaurant. More in the fast food category. There are no fountain drinks so no drink refills. Tables and booths are small so even tight for a group of 4. I will go back again but more for a fast food lunch than a dinner out.

Got a lunch to go. The guac is outstanding with big hunks of avacado and onion all over it and covered with fresh limes. Great little family place with warm meals that are good for your soul.

I don't often eat authentic Mexican, but when I do, I prefer Chaska My Love.

A small Mexican restaurant in the middle of an old strip mall doesn't sound like a great idea, but you'd be wrong. Authentic Mexican food served quickly with a lot of flavor. The seating isn't elegant, and the place needs a good redesign so that it doesn't feel like they just moved in, but the tastes more than make up for it.

It's great to see some authentic Mexican food in chaska. The staff was sort of friendly, coulda been better. The food was only okay. It lacked flavor. Maybe try a touch of seasoning when you cook? Bland. I eat a lot of authentic Mexican food in Minneapolis and this isn't as good . Not sure what other people are talking about but this is far from the best Mexican food. the people of chaska most likely aren't as familiar with authentic Mexican food and you are kind of giving it a bad reputation. It is one of my favorite foods. Also it is located in a shabby looking run down strip mall. Not very inviting. The place looks dirty. It is still nice to have something different in this small town. But with a little more effort you guys could be great. Or leave it the same and your reputation will remain below average. Sorry guys. Whomp whomp.

We used a groupon for our visit. I love visiting local small businesses, actually they are my favorite. This place had the look and smells but didnt deliver. 1. Chips were cold but were shinny due to all the great that had been absorbed. 2. I ordered the alambres tacos, good portion of chorizo, asada and al pastor. All the tortillas that came with it were greasy!! I had to use napkins to soak up the grease. 3. My wife had the chile relleno dinner plater, she said the food had no taste just grease. I would suggest that the business ease up on the grease or frier and concentrate on the flavor of the food.

If you're looking for a fancy place, this isn't it. But if you're looking for good food and you don't mind a slight straying for the typical mexican restaurant, you're in good hands! This place is very small, so don't be expecting fountain sodas and kids menus (or any menus, for that matter) or anything like that. But they do deliver on friendliness and good food! They have great guac. Almost every dish I've ordered has been great. Sure, the ambiance is lacking, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for their great mexican fare.

Not that bad for lunch Nothing for entertainment but Univision I've been wanting to check this place out for some time now based on the Yelp reviews as work brings me down to Chaska from time to time. Torn between a three and a four. Four for the food, two for everything else, so three it is. Place is a little tricky to find. It is located in a strip mall with several other markets and eateries. Most of the stores in the strip mall have entrances right at the sidewalk. To get to Chaska My Love, you need to go inside an enclosed portion of the strip mall. From the outside driving by, all you can see is a small sign that says "Mexican Restaurant." Went with the enchilada plate for $8.00 and a can of diet soda (yes, soda - I live in Wisconsin) for a buck. Order up at the counter, and they bring the food out to you. I would say it took about ten minutes from ordering until I had the food brought out to my table. They did bring out some complimentary chips and salsa while I was waiting. Nothing mind blowing, but nice touch. The enchiladas were tasty. The sauce was kind of sweet which I am not accustomed to on enchiladas. I really liked it. The rice was also great, perfect texture and kind of buttery with no frills. Just the way I like it. The beans were standard. Be prepared to keep yourself busy on your cellphone if you decide to eat there. There is only one television which is on Univision with no sound. It looked like there was some kind of soap opera going on with two chicks who were yelling and screaming at each other. In my mind, I was chanting "CATFIGHT, CATFIGHT!" Alas, no such luck. They went their separate ways without coming to fisticuffs. If I lived in the area, I would be a semi-regular for lunch - probably for take-out only. There is also no cerveza and no outdoor seating. It also had really poor lighting for my tastes. They had lights on over the counter and kitchen, but no lights on in the seating area. Lastly, I'm not sure if they have air conditioning or not - it was a bit on the hot side in there today.

Flavors I can taste! As authentic as I can find in MSP! Fair prices and friendly staff. I found this place strictly based on Yelp recommendations, which is funny because all of the other reviews are from Groupon related visitors. I didn't have any coupon, but was yearning for some down and dirty mexican favorites. This place surely delivered. I have to say, my wife is quite picky about the restaurants we visit, meaning they have to be quite clean, and "safe" as she would call it. This isn't either of those. But I could tell it was family owned, authentic, and genuine. The food tasted that way too. Cilantro in my burrito? Yes please! Thick cut deep fried chips in my nachos? Yup! The location is odd, next to a dingy laundry mat. The interior is very Spanish. They sell cell phone cases at the same counter you order your dinner for example. The TV mounted to the wall seemed to have failed, so they brought in the nearest 42" tube TV they could find and popped it down on a table. Sure, this place could be cleaned up a bit and use some new furniture, flooring, and menu - but the food is why I came and why I will come back. Get it to go, call ahead if you think of it. You'll love the flavor and taste that you wouldn't find going to some place like Don Pablo's chains.

The food here is truly spectacular, for authentic Mexican food--best I've ever had in the US.

I purchased a restaurant.com certificate for this place a few weeks ago and was going to give it a try for dine in but decided to try take out instead. That was a good choice as I would never eat in at this place, never its in a run down strip mall and it's pretty dingy. That being said the food was great! We had enchiladas, burrito, guacamole and a quesadilla the burrito was prob one of the best I've had! Check it out amazing food!

Tucked away in a small strip mall in the heart of downtown Chaska that's seen better days, the aroma of the laundromat next door greets visitors in the hallway before you step through to a slice of Mexico. Authentic tacqueria favorites such as carne asada tacos, tamales and bistec, are well portioned, hearty, and tasty. On the weekends, they offer Mexican specialties such as menudo. The TV hanging from the wall permanently tuned to Univision adds background ambiance to the spartan tables and cafeteria-grade chairs. But then again, noone comes to a restaurant like this to impress a date. Nope -- people come for the delicious food and excellent value.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
