Great customer service. Food always tastes fresh. I have eaten the and also used for catering...both have been great

I think they forgot about us because we were one of the first lunch tables seated and we ordered almost right away. But we saw people that ordered much later than us getting their food before us. We weren't in a hurry so that didn't bother us. The food was amazing and the server was attentive. I would go back because the food was great

Highly recommend the wood fire roasted wings. The cheese bread is also excellent. I enjoyed the bar staff. Very friendly and accommodating.

I ate here with my wife and kids. The menu on the high side that doesn't have anything jump out at me. Yes, I know they have a great martini...I am with the family and don't usually drink around my kids. In summary, if you want to drink - okay, go here. As for a dinner, especially with kids, nothing special here unless you just in the mood to spend money.

I have only been here once for the roasted pear pizza, the pears were extremely sweet and cinnamon flavored, which was a bit much for me for a dinner pizza. The crust and cheese were decent, but not a place I would highly recommend.

My daughter and I stopped for lunch at the Roasted Pear after nearly 400 highway miles. Very friendly staff. Our waitress was great but the server must have had cataracts because she said, "I hope you ladies enjoy," as she handed us our food. It was just me and my daughter. I know I don't look like Bruce Jenner, never been mistaken for a woman, even when I dressed up as a Hooters girl in 1988, so she is blind or the women of Minnesota are more manly than I thought. Salad was pretty good not enough chicken in it for me. Tomato basil soup was excellent.

Good. That sums it up. Everything was good. Service was attentive and patient with us as we spent 30 minutes looking over the menu. Then did a great job of timing the dishes out of the kitchen, each course came out at the right time. The drinks were well made and cold. The food was tasty. Good wings, tasty lasagna, and my bleu cheese shrimp were excellent. Nothing is going to blow your socks off, but you will be happy with the experience. A nice suburban restaurant that gives you a good option in a world of Applebee's and Olive Gardens.

I recommend the filet mignon which is butter knife worthy, they also have a petite version. Option with bacon and Bleu cheese is also worth it. Mashed potatoes are excellent and salad dressing is handmade. Name of the restaurant comes from one of their flatbread pizzas which are all pretty good. I haven't tried much more because the filet is always so well prepared and tender. Outdoor patio Is nice in the summer but faces the south so in the evening you get sun rays all up in your eyes. Parking gets crowded but if there is a spot available there will be a table inside.

After reading rave reviews, my husband and I were disappointed in the meals we received. I ordered the pear spinach Gorgonzola salad- while the greens were quite fresh and the candied pears were tasty, the salad was overwhelmed with balsamic vinaigrette. I couldn't finish it. My husband ordered the Cajun burger. His comment, "meh." The service wasn't great either. Waited quite awhile to get a beer and soda refills. Not worth the price, unfortunately.

Roasted pear is the place to go if you like pizza. Their pizzas are fired in their brick over and are absolutely delicious. Crust is in-between thick and thin and is amazing. Their sauce is delicious and they put plenty of cheese on. Fantastic pizza, you will not be disappointed.

Decided to try this place for Thanksgiving, they had a wonderful brunch almost better than moms don't tell her I said that . We had a lovely waitress delicious drinks and even better food! I can't say enough if you have nothing to do on Thanksgiving or you don't want to cook this is the place to go!

Great food!! I loved the wood-fired oven. Service was good and the menu selection was great. From pasta to pizza to steak, everything that we saw looked wonderful. Our food was prepared well and very tasty. Definitely a place to frequent often.

The atmosphere was nice, and they had an extensive martini menu, although I don't drink martini's so I have no idea if they are any good. It was a little bit over priced, but the steak was excellent and the soup was really good as well. Quiet, with a friendly staff

Tonight we went to Roasted Pear and we had an experience that will guarantee our return. We walked in out of the rain to a smiling face that got us seated right away. We were greeted with a smile by our waitress and looked over the menu. We had something specific in mind with what we wanted to eat for the night and so we ordered our food. We started with an appetizer, the chicken wings- DELICIOUS! We ordered the filet mignon and with that comes vegetables, a potato, and a salad or soup. We picked the soup; tomato basil- DELICIOUS. The timing between dishes was perfect and the food all was warm and tasty. We did have one little hiccup in our experience, but the customer service and understanding we received from not only our waitress, but the manager as well definitely went above any expectations we had. When we were given our entree for the night we cut into the steak and it was definitely not done to the "medium" standard, so the meat went back to be cooked up more. When it returned the plate looked good and the meat looked like it was going to be yummy. It was very tender, cooked just right, and good; the only thing was it did not have much flavor, so salt and steak sauce was needed to give the meat some flavor. We told our waitress just that when we were asked how everything was, and that is when some of the best customer service we have seen took place. Not only did the manager come out and talk to us and genuinely wanted to know our thoughts, they offered us a dessert and because we were too full we declined. In the long run our intent was to just inform the restaurant of our experience, because we will go back' but we got our appetizer comped. Needless to say good food will get me to go back to a restaurant, but good customer service will get me to remember the experience as well.

Food was excellent, mashed potatoes are chunky and amazing! Good comfort food. Service was mediocre, wasn't asked about dessert or another drink. The server was a bit distant throughout. Overall, we'll be back!

Went to their lounge with some friends. Waiter poured and refilled our wine glasses but, finding that our glasses were not evenly filled, he started dumping the wine from one glass to another to even them out! Woah man! Huge faux pas! How about a little staff training?!?!

The prices are a little higher, & although the food is pretty good, it doesn't make the price seem worthwhile. Also wouldn't recommend for those gluten free, no GF menu & servers/cooks didn't seem to know or exactly agree on which items were GF.

the only plus is it is locally owned (i think). food, ok, prices high for what it is. too bad there aren't more independent restarants out here in the boonies.

I don't mind stopping by the Pear with a couple friends after work from time to time. They have a decent Wednesday happy hour (free mini burgers). Their menu boasts a couple of creative choices (Roasted Pear & Gorgonzola pizza--it's not for everyone), but mostly it's the standard restaurant/bar fare (artichoke and spinach dip, French dip, and a variety of beef portions). I've never had anything too objectionable here, but I've never been overly impressed either. I wish they had a few more beers on tap, but I've seen worse beer selections too.

Went for a Sunday brunch and I must say... this place was not bad. We didn't know that there was a buffet when we got there but after I learned it came with a complimentary mimosa, I was sold. The cost was $15 and I would say it was worth it. There were plenty of options to choose from. There were two long tables of breakfast and lunch entrées, a table for soups, salads and appetizers and a table for desserts. Overall, the food was not the best I've had but it was good. The atmosphere was nothing special but the staff was friendly and it was a clean/ nice restaurant. A very family-friendly place, there were lots of kiddies when we were there. Would I go back? Sure why not but probably not for another month or two.

Been here a few times now and had a positive experience each time. Overall, great food and a balenced menu with good service. Only downside (if you want to call it that) is their portion sizes are *crazy* large. There is no possible way that two people can share an appitizer, each have an entree (which most come with a salad on a 10" plate) and share dessert. It's all great food, but sometimes less is more.

    (3)
  • Tina W.

Consistently good. I especially like the lunch offerings. You can eat here for less than $10 with a drink. Hard to do that at any sit-down restaurant these days. Been there for Easter and Thanksgiving as well and not as satisfied. Of course, I'm not a big buffet person, so that may impact my reaction. Soups are good; sandwiches are good. I especially like their salads and their pizzas.

Went to the Roasted Pear a couple of weeks ago, everyone enjoyed it. Food was great, atmosphere was pleasant. Very nice. But since then, I've attempted to order delivery from them twice. The first time, the brought me the wrong food and I had to wait for the right food to be delivered. The second time, my food was never delivered. After an hour and a half, I called and the woman who answered the phone said no one saw it. Not pleased.

The Roasted Pear seems like the restaurant that time has forgotten about. From the decor to the drinks to the food, everything seems just... uninspired. The pasta dish I had was unseasoned and bland. My friend ordered a sandwich and was equally unimpressed. The drink menu was the best part of what we had to choose from. The decor seems like a sports bar from the 80s without the cheesy memorabilia. When I was there, there were beer signs all over the place. For the prices of their entrees, I would have assumed that element wouldn't be there. Also, when your restaurant has "pear" in the name, I would think that this ingredient would be more heavily featured. The pear dishes were things that I could have goten elsewhere. That was pretty disappointing. No pear dessert?! What a missed opportunity. The patio was the best part of our meal. Unfortunately to say, I don't think I'll be back.

I love this place. It's my in-laws go-to-place on Saturday's after church, if they're meeting new people, or just want good food. And I can't argue - it's good! We usually sit in the bar when we go in - it's more entertaining than the regular portion of the restaurant. The owners and staff do a great job touching base with their "usual" customers and being friendly and inviting to all. They have a nice bar with the usual selections of beers on tap and wines available. They're appetizers are AWESOME. They actually catered my wedding which was in St. Paul this past fall and they did a great job. The food was fresh and hot the entire time and we never ran out. I thought the staff did a great job that night! Definitely check into them for catering. Bottomline: love this place.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner, and was told by the host there was a booth available, but it had to be cleaned off first. While we were waiting another couple came in, and were also told it would be a few minutes. The host came back and sat the couple that came in after us in the booth that was meant for us! When he came back to the front he saw us, you could tell he knew he made a mistake, but he didn't say anything to us. We waited for another 20 minutes before getting a table. Our server was training a new employee, so we thought we might get some good, fast service. Well, it was quite the opposite. It took another 10 minutes just to get water. By the time we were finally able to order our food, the couple that came in after us had already finished their meal and were leaving! The food finally came out and it was mediocre at best. Very greasy and overpriced. We finished eating, and waited for our server to come by with the check, and it was obvious we were done eating. We watched the server and her trainee come in and out of the section 5 times, and not once were we acknowledged. I spoke with a manager before I left, not because I was trying to get anything for free, but because I feel a business should know when their guests are not happy so they can correct the mistakes. The manager was very nice and said he would send something in the mail, which I thought was a nice touch. A few weeks passed and I received nothing, so I sent a PM on Facebook. The owner wrote back that she was sorry for the experience and she would put something in the mail that week. Another few weeks passed so I sent another message on FB. I finally received a letter in the mail that was backdated a month. Even though they acknowledged and apologized for the problem, and sent a gift certificate, I won't be going back due to the first experience, and the length of time it took to address the issue.

I stopped by last week to meet up with my family who was already there. I was starving after getting off work. My family had closed their bill but I was able to order a drink and get a menu. 45 minutes later, after being ignored completely, I had to walk up to the server to ask for my drink check. I was going to eat there but after the terrible customer service I said nuh uh.. She didn't even look at me when she gave me the check....or apologize. I won't be back.

It's OK. The ambiance is nice - not too noisy, not too busy, not too big. The TVs showing sports seemed out of place, though, I have to say. Live music on Saturday nights (tonight was 'smooth jazz'). The food was overpriced for what it is. I ordered a walleye sandwich and it was overcooked and too much breading. The pulled pork was just ok. We stuck to sandwiches (they were around $10; entrees were around $20). They are good with kids, though. Instead of crayons they gave out wiki-stix which are like wax pipe cleaners. Much more fun instead of crayons! A+ for that. Staff was excellent and attentive and worked really hard. No complaints whatsoever about the staff! I want to like this place, because there are a lot of things they get right (ambiance, kids treatment, staff), but the food is overpriced and not worth the drive. People wore a variety of clothing. Mostly it was weekend/business casual. One guy was wearing a nice t-shirt and jeans, but mostly people were wearing khakis or slacks with dress shirts.

The Roasted Pear is a great place for dinner. They have a very large bar section on one side and dinner seating on the opposite. Between is the visible wood fire oven I assume they use for their pizzas. Its a cross between California Pizza kitchen and Applebee's. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and was provided with great service even with the crowds inside. I thought the prices were in par with other restaurants and was impressed with the choices on the menu as there was a little something for everyone. I quite enjoyed their pear cran-crisp desert. It was definitely different than the standard apple crisp that is offered elsewhere. While other reviews seem to focus on what the building looks like, I would rather focus on the food and service which I give 2 thumbs up. I would definitely go back there again.

  • Jennifer L.

I want to like this place but they didn't give me much reason to. They asked how we wanted the burgers cooked and then overcooked them. The prices were on the high end - but the food didn't live up to it. (The size of the patty and the quality of the bun were less than they could have been.) The waitress pretty much gave up on us when we said no desert. She never came back to refill our coffee after our meal was served - and she slid our bill onto our table while talking to the next table. There were some interesting things on the menu, but I am not sure if the experience I had this time will push me toward coming back and trying something else.

I was expecting something totally different. Based on the menu, I thought this place would be a smallish place, kinda hip. It was not a small place and everyone there was 50+. The soundtrack was not great. The atmosphere was a typical boring sports bar. We got the baked brie appetizer: brie baked with pears inside some bread thing. I wanted more cheese, less breading. It also comes WITH garlic bread toasts, why? My husband got the pork chop special, he seemed to like it. The grilled veggies that came with it were bathed in butter, yuck. My pizza was good, I got the Thai chicken pizza, very good and right amount of spices. The inventive menu and somewhat good food saves this place from a lower score, but I probably won't come back.

We go to Roasted Pear for happy hour only because its decent and really cheap. Their pizza and appetizers are decent and the drink specials are great. Don't bother with their regular menu. It's way over priced for what it is. Someone needs to reevaluate what is actually on their menu. They really need some improvements. When you can't get a walleye sandwich right in MN you have a problem. Every time I've ordered from their normal menu, I'm disappointed. The staff is really hit or miss. We usually get a really nice server but the hostesses suck. They are all rude and awkward. A few times we've waited a year and a half for our bill and several times they don't apply the happy hour promotions and have to run the bill again. I do think the quality of food has improved, I just think its been the SAME for too long. People get bored. And they need to decide if they are catering or sit down restaurant. More than a few times, we have been trying to dine while a catering boxing, assembly line is taking place right in the middle of the dining room! Not a great atmosphere. Also more than a few times, we've put up with listening to a woman who is either a manager or owner or something go ON and ON and ONNNNNN about their catering services to another customer while we're trying to enjoy our experience. Get a flyer that you can hand out and answer questions later- don't stand there and monopolize the whole dining room with your sales pitch. We DON'T care!!!!! We couldn't even talk over her three tables down- she completely ruined it!!!!!

Went ţhere the other night for a business meeting. Got told it would be 15 min wait. No biggy, so we went to the bar. Bartender was great. Asked 20 min later about our table. Nope none opened up yet but ţhere were 2 dirty ones, 2 clean ones, and 1-1.5 without chair behind ism. I pointed that out to the host, and he said he would put something together for us. 5 min later, he tells us he has 3 other groups of 4 to sit before the 3 of us. Kinda irked me when I pointed all this out to him. Move forward to dinner. We get the waitress that's a little slow upstairs. Waited 20 minutes for salads, got about 1/4 done with them and our food is up. My steak had 1/4 inch of burnt crust on top, the thai pizza had so much hot spice you could only eat half a slice, etc. Asked for a few things like a steak knife, the right salad dressing that we ordered, refills, etc, nothing like that ever happened. I didn't make a stink of it cause the waitress was slow upstairs. Went to pay and learned they only take one gift card at a time that was bought from them. Really??? Why buy, get or give gift cards then. The whole night left me with a half assed feeling. The only reason for me to go ţhere again is to use this $25 gift card I have.

I just dropped a star because I just learned they took their best-in-town bruschetta off the menu. What a shame. It's what we have ordered every time we dined there. Now it's gone, I hear. If you like the bruschetta like we do and want it back, heap on a bunch of grief about this until they bring it back! Otherwise, haven't found anything on the regular dinner/lunch menu we don't like, yet.

The Roasted Pear just gets the job done. I ordered the meatloaf, and truly, 'twas the finest meatloaf I've eaten. Better than Mom's meatloaf (my mom didn't make meatloaf growing up, so I can say that). It came with generously-portioned roasted vegetables - they were roasted to perfection, and a great blend of flavors. The mashed potatoes were done to perfection. If you read the reviews here on Yelp, you will notice Yelpsters are consistently impressed by the food, while the ambiance is kind of a yawn. The meals are affordable, our service was friendly, and the portion sizes were big enough for a grown man such as myself. All in all, very pleased with this suburban option.

I am so sad. This used to be one of my favorite places. Then, they opened another location and the owner was never there. The last few times I've been there, I've noticed a slow decline. It's been going down hill over the last year or so and the last straw was today when my son and I had lunch there. I had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and my son had the cob salad. I never finished mine because the cream tasted a bit off and you needed a magnifying glass to find the chicken. My son was sick an hour after he finished his. I normally know at least half of the staff there...today, I recognized nobody. The last few times that I've been there have been very disappointing so I think I'm done. Such a shame...used to be a great place.

I've been here 2 times with family now and everything has been so good. Everyone enjoyed what they ate. The service is awesome too. One of the best Reuben's I've had in the twin cities. You won't be disappointed with this place!

I really like this place. We've only come here for HH so far. The chicken eggrolls rock. And we normally get the asian wings too. I would like to try the flatbreads soon. One thing to note though is everytime I've gone here and went in the bar area to use the restrooms the floors are crazy sticky! Its gross and bothers me. Do they ever mop that floor properly or do they just spill pop all the time that makes it sticky!? Ick

The best wings you can get! Fire roasted and great seasoning, don't even need the sauce, but they give you Buffalo, BBQ, and Teriyaki sauce on the side anyway. Mondays are half price bottle of wine. a lot of other fire roasted items on menu and everything is great.

Went to Roasted Pear for Mother's Day with my children and grandchild. The host, as usual, was incompetent and outright rude. We all arrived separately, with me arriving last, and she went as far as to argue with me as to whether or not my group was there .... and yes, they were, and had a pager .... The server was good; busy, and a bit inattentive, but it was a busy night. I ordered the broccoli cheese soup and it was COLD ... not just tepid, but COLD .... as in bacteria growing, board of health violation COLD!!!!! If you ate here on mother's day and had that nasty "24 hour flu" after eating the soup .... well, you now have your explanation. My server told me that the warming table had been turned off all day, and until I complained, no one had noticed. Lets think about that .... this was broccoli cheese soup, meaning that the person who got the soup ready had to scrape off a later of cold slime to get it ready .... and no one thought to check the temperature???? Ugh.

  • Rhonda G.

Went for brunch with Linda H. Jensen's was way too crowded, I was tempted by broccoli cheese soup, which I liked a lot. Nothing looked any different than any other chain type menu, so I settled on a lettuce wedge. This was like half a head of iceburg lettuce, which was very green, that made me very happy. Covered in blue cheese, and bacon bits, I made the right choice. Our server, Christine was great. The buffet didn't look appealing at all. My curiosity is finally satisfied, and I will not likely be back, because the menu is just average. I liked what I had and you may also.

I have been going here for over 6 years now and not once have I been disappointed. Every item on their menu is homemade and delicious! Their tomato basil soup and artichoke dip are out of this world. If you get the chance to stop there I would recommend those. I have tried mostly every dish off their menu and every dessert they have as well and everything I have had there is amazing. I completely recommend going here and giving it a shot!

Great service and delicious food!!!! This was our first time here and we will definitely be back! They have free tacos on Tuesday's too/ yes - free!! With a drink order of course. Nice atmosphere too.

It was pretty good! Went for lunch right when they opened for the day, around 11am. They have wonderful lunch size portions & pricing - I ordered the pasta/salad combo - it was a peanut sauce pasta and was perfectly spiced. My friend ordered the "stacker" - your choice of protein over a bed of vegtables. It looked delicious.

RP (BURNSVILLE) is definitely one of my favorite restaurants. I've been here probably 40 times (not even an exaggeration) and everything I've ever eaten there has been delicious. I thought I would always be an RP Wrapper kind of gal, but I think I might have found a new favorite tonight. Chicken Thai Pizza. Holy cow, this stuff is good! The first few bites are a little strange as your mind tries to get past pizza-y expectations, but the peanut sauce adds excellent flavor while the raw sprouts and carrots add a level of freshness. YUMMM. I literally had to unbutton my pants on the ride home. Because I ate an entire pizza. In other news. House-made strawberry lemonade. Let's get something straight here. I am a 23 year old woman who considers herself *very* dedicated to alcohol, but I have never had an alcoholic drink here, because DAMN. That lemonade. I live 30 minutes away (without traffic) and this place is worth every second of that drive. Every time.

I am all about brunch and all about buffets so I was looking forward to checking this out. Came here with my kiddo, who likes to give his input for my yelp reviews, and he also gave it a 2. The buffet is cheap, $15 for adults and $9 for kiddos, comes with a mimosa, juice, or champagne. I asked if I could have coffee instead of a mimosa and they don't do that. The buffet was okay, nothing special. Standard brunch food: waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, veggies, salads, roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes, green, beans, lasagna, desserts. They also have made to order benedicts, which was the best thing by far. Most of the food from the buffet was cold. Eggs were very bland. My kiddo liked his waffles even though they were not hot. The salmon benedict was good, but I ordered it sauce on the side and they brought it out with sauce, so they had to make me a new one. The server was slow to clear our dirty plates from the table so we had to sit with a pile of dishes. The floors in the bathroom were sticky. Overall I was not impressed with anything except the benedict. I doubt I will come back for the brunch again or even to try their dinner.

when in from out of town visiting a friend who lives nearby "the pear" - we dine here often. I'm honestly surprised to see a lower than I'd expect rating. Parking: plentiful in private lot. Seating: don't think I've ever waited, perhaps once at 7pm on a weekend but sat at the bar for a great drink. Don't expect long waits. Atmosphere: I would call it classy casual, think a step up from Olive Garden, or maybe a step and a half. Can't otherwise find words to describe - bistro like, maybe an Italian feel to it? Not sure but its clean, nice, upscale. Service: consistently excellent, professional, friendly. Food comes out quick but not rushed. No complaints. Food: I love, love, love the Reuben Pizza! I've also tried different seafood selections which have always been tasty and well prepared. Bar: Nice wine selection, nice wine glasses and the specialty drinks are delicious. Can't remember the name of it but there's some pear martini that is excellent. Also make a great bloody and cosmo. Why not five stars? Bit too pricey for 5 stars but 4 means I really like it and recommend it to all!

Oh my gawd. Get yourself to the Pear ' s Sunday brunch. 10-2, $15.00 and a free mimosa! Brunch was a fabulous spread: breakfast staples, made - to - order Eggs Benedict, some lunch dishes (pasta, chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes) a carving station, smoked salmon and plenty of delicious desserts. A little more spendy than a typical breakfast, but the value is totally there.
