We enjoyed the Big Lake location. Great burgers, service, and clean restrooms. Many screens to watch a variety of television.

We were going to Rack's for the 1st time for a 50th birthday party. We called a couple days in advance to make reservations for 10 at 7pm. When we got there, no one acknowledged us and we had to flag down a waitress to show us to our table, which was for 8. We ended up asking people around us for 2 more chairs. 20 minutes later, we received our 1st round of drinks. 20 minutes after that, she came back to take our orders and we asked for another round of drinks. 2 of the orders were the prime rib, 1 medium, 1 med well, which was the special of the night. 30 minutes later, the waitress came back to tell us they were out of prime rib (the special) so rib eye steaks were substituted. Waitress said she'd bring us another round of drinks on the house. 15 minutes later, 2 rib eye dinners came out 1 medium, 1 bleeding raw and cold in the middle. No drinks, no salads, no soups, no clue where the rest of the food was. Time to talk to the manager. He was friendly and understanding. Offered to comp our meals and gave us a gift card. 10 minutes after that, 10 people who enjoy cocktails and food walked out of Racks after 1 round of drinks and no food. This wasn't anyone's fault, it was everyone's fault. This place seemed unorganized and chaotic from the minute we walked in. Will I go back to give it another try? Not sure. I keep hearing how good the food there is... I guess I wouldn't know, maybe we should've stayed another 20 minutes.....

This is not a foodie place. Nor is it, in my opinion, a family place. That said, I know guys that'll take their mother to Hooter's for a birthday dinner. Granted those guys are red neck buddies in Arkansas and Mississippi. This place is a lot like a Hooter's without high prices and the "memorabilia" counter. Pretty girls in short-shorts slinging beer and wings to a place 80% full y-chromosome carriers. Cool with me. Cheap beer, cheap food, TV's everywhere to watch a handful of games at the same time, and all the servers and bartenders are attractive enough to turn your head on the beach. Then throw in the stuffed fish and other wild game on the wall and the country music that's blaring just a little too loud - it's a much better alternative to the strip club for a married man that needs a testosterone refill.

Heard about the new opening and went with a friend to try it out. First thought when I walked in: it reminds me of a tamed Hooters. Girls wearing loads of make up and short, short shorts. Being a married man I was definitely more interested in what was on the menu but I guess they were going for a testosterone induced theme for uniform. Loved all the taxidermy animals on the walls, made it seem like a northern hunting lodge. It looks to be your standard fare of bar food. Wings, burgers, sandwiches. We asked our waitress what was good and she recommended a burger. I got the Westy Burger (BBQ Burger) and ordered it medium rare. Burger was cooked perfectly. It came with what appeared to be homemade BBQ sauce which was very good too. My friend's burger was cooked perfectly for him and he really enjoyed it too. The fries were nothing special, very over salted. But what really peaked my interest was the onion ring that came on the burger. It had some of the BEST beer batter taste I have had in a long time. You could actually taste the BEER! It was amazing. I almost wanted to order an extra order of onion rings so I could indulge in the deliciousness more (I wasn't paying so I didn't). Overall, good place to grab a drink, watch sports (multiple TVs), and maybe grab some wings or a burger. Staff were friendly, maybe a bit too flirty at times, but friendly. If you are in town, give it a shot!

Always great to come to Racks. I've been pretty consistent in the last couple years. Rack 1.0 was the adolescent version, and while it was indeed a great amount of fun for a single guy... I have to admit I like the revamped version. The food is better, the service is still good and who doesn't love sports? Beer.. I mean.. But honestly, Kevin has done a phenomenal job making the place his own and successful at that. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Nice atmosphere and wait staff was fairly good. We both ordered ribs and neither of us were impressed! No flavor and fatty meat. Drinks are good and strong tho!!

Like the new location and revamped menu. Severs are always smiling and the food is so much better now. The owner did an excellent job in reinventing this sport's bar!! Get one of their excellent burgers with tots or a Caesar salad with Cajun seasoned chicken. You won't be disappointed.

The beer is cold and the burgers are great. Throw in some sports on the TVs and some 80's rock in the background and you have me as a happy customer. Service was friendly and the accommodations were clean and pleasant with a hunting lodge vibe. Good place for regular guys to grab a bite.

Welp, the water and ice tea was fine! After sitting for nearly twenty minutes and watching our server walk past our table several times without stopping to take our order we elected to walk out. We left $3 on the table for the iced tea. As we were leaving I said to the hostess your "service" is terrible she said with a dazed and confused look..."really". Like she never heard that before. Don't waste your time! Default is giving them one star. Please subtract 2 stars for a minus 1 rating.

Welp... The doors worked OK (they opened and shut nicely) and uhh... There weren't any cracks in the windows. OH... AND... They had TVs with surprisingly wonderful HD. That's about it for the things that aren't bad. Racks is formerly "The Rack" which used to be located at 35W and Burnsville Parkway. They moved, got a new menu, got a new owner and things just didn't work out as planned in my most valuable, professional opinion. The 3 things I look for in a restaurant is the service, ambiance and the food. They have about .75 of these things. Our server seemed to be distracted with other things today at both the start and end of our meal; which is odd considering there were 5 cars in the parking lot. She did stop by and check in on us a few times while we were chewing. I lied to her every time and said everything was good. Sorry mom! Most annoying was waiting forever for our check. Karl W. had to dangle the credit card off the edge of the table to give the bat-signal that we're ready to go. Other than that, service was decent. If you love the scent of old wood and dirty drop-ceiling tiles, this is your jam. We had the pleasure of sitting directly under a dirty vent which was emitting a heavy cigarette scent. Was someone smoking in the back? This place could definitely use some renovating from the bottom up. Just because you're on a dirty part of Cliff, doesn't mean you have to dress the part. I would say this is possibly a nice place to come watch a sporting event or two but just make sure you eat beforehand (more on that in a sentence or two). The bar area seemed clean and stocked and as stated before, TVs were everywhere with some nice HD signal. I was forced to choose something from the "meh"nu. I opted for something a little unique and that was the french onion soup burger. It definitely appeared to be a frozen patty and not fresh as exclaimed on the menu. It consisted of sauteed onions, swiss cheese and a side of French Onion soup "to dip your burger in" says the menu. I'll dip it where I please tyvm. This was an interesting take on the burger but I think actual fresh ground beef could be the thing to tip it over the edge. The fries that I chose to come on the side were dense. They looked identical to McDonald's fries but again, had a weird density to them. Maybe they were simply reheated for me in the deep fryer? Not sure. They were just not good. I ended up leaving a 1/4th of my burger and 3/4 of my fries on the plate. The server was surprised when I told her I was finished. I can't eat what isn't good :( We also ordered some wings which arrived TERRIBLY dry. I sat and watched Karl W. stomach these things and he looked miserable. He couldn't get over how bad they were. He did say every 3rd wing or so was semi-decent but it was definitely looking like misery for the rest. Overall there is definite room for improvement here. The menu may be new but it is basic and standard fare. I saw some bar food on it as well as some out of place culinary delights like "Alfredo". If there is no renovation money in the budget then I foresee failure. Even if you're cleaning the old, dated decor, it will always appear old and dated (and dirty) and WILL affect appetites. The semi-dressed servers make this a bad place for children. So does the food though.. and the decor. Moving doesn't fix bad, it just moves the bad.

The food is great here. The steaks are cooked to order. Great burgers. family friendly, we come three times a week. The girls are great to.

I like my wings and beer, and I was excited to see this place show up in the neighborhood a few blocks away. on a Friday after work, I decided to check out the wings. I ordered traditional with wings...12 spicy peanut and 12 diablo. When I got my order, I looked at the spicy peanut wings and thought they were kidding. They looked like they had been deep fried for about a half-hour, and, they tasted like it too. All crunch (I'm not sure exactly what the crunch was...grissle?), and very little meat. The diablo with wings were so-so and not the meatiest either. I went back a few weeks later and decided to try boneless wings this time. I ordered boneless buffalo. The cuts were whole cuts of white meat, and simply deep fried until just past the point of forming a crust from deep frying. Then, they're tossed around in buffalo sauce. I'm not sure this is my kind of boneless wings...but some sort of coating or breading might have been worthwhile (although many places have some crappy breaded boneless wings for that matter). If your going to just make "naked" boneless wings...maybe just keep it simple and bake the chicken cutlets instead of trying to create a crunchy texture by over-deep frying them...leaving them wrinkled and dry. I've since also had other food entrées and will say its been average to good food otherwise. But, if you're a "wing nut", use your gas to go somewhere else for your wing fix. If you want some cold beer and don't mind looking at a few cute waitresses with tight t-shirts and jean shorts, you might enjoy this place. 3 stars for good atmosphere and OK food, no stars for the wings.
