Oh! Morgan's! You had me at hello, but left me feeling down later. Service here is exceptional. Everyone was friendly and kept me very happy and never wondering when they are going to give me a refill, A+. The food was pretty decent. I had walleye, crab cakes and rib tips. Portions are generous and even my sons grilled cheese was great, B-. The place was quite busy, so people do like it. They only get 3 stars because about an hour later my husband and I had a bit of an upset stomach ( feeing like we ate to much candy). It is vary rare that I get sick from food, but this was the only meal my husband and I had in common that day. Everything tasted fine to us, so I can't quite pin point the culprit. But, I am willing to go one more time just to make sure. They offer a great happy hour, so I probably pop back in at that time. If I feel like crap again, they are going to have to lose some more stars, I hope they don't disappoint.

Alyssa got a call at work from our family friend. She wanted to watch Pheona on Friday night so we could go out for a supper by ourselves. We gladly took her up on this offer. When it came time to pick a place, we choose the All-You-Can-Eat Friday Night Fish Fry closest to her apartment. That ended up being Morgan's on Nicollet. The restaurant is located inside the Best Western. However, you don't need to go into the hotel to get into Morgan's. They have their own entrance. Which is very convenient. Walking up to the door, we passed an outdoor patio. Complete with tables and chairs. You could enjoy service out here if you'd like. We walked inside and had our hearts set on a drink at the bar before supper. That is off to the right of the main entrance. It is a large bar with seats all around. Lots of high top tables are set around it. The bar was about half full, so we found a couple of seats easy. Our bartender asked us what we were drinking quickly and Alyssa asked about any Happy Hour specials. These had already expired because of it being past 6 o'clock. We sat right in front of the tap lines they offered, so I got a good look at what I wanted. I ordered a Moose Drool. Alyssa got a Blue Moon. We were asked if we wanted a tall or a short. Alyssa did a short. I did the opposite. Mine came in a 25oz tanker. Alyssa got a pint. There is a popcorn machine in a corner that offers up free popped corn for patrons. I scooped us up a basket. Our bartender inquired if we were eating. He provided us with menus to look at even after we told him we were going to be seated at a table for supper rather than eating at the bar. He even went as far to set a table up for us and point it out so as to when we were ready, we could take it. Very kind of him! When we wanted to settle up our drinks, he waved us off and said it would be on our total bill at the end. We took our seats at a booth. Our server came by to ask if we were wanting another round of beverages. We did and both went for the same. When those were brought we placed our order for supper. Alyssa was going to get Smoked Gouda stuffed Meatloaf. However, she decided against that when she figured out we have all the makings for this at home. This ended up being what we made for supper the next night. So, she figured on the American Dip Sandwich. Shaved Prime Rib, Cheddar Cheese, & Horseradish on a Hoagie Bun. I, of course, ordered the AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry. The Fish Fry comes standard with Beer Battered Cod, Coleslaw, & Potato Wedges. While waiting, I took in the restaurant. It has a contemporary look. Everything is fresh & new. There is a nice fireplace area with seating around it. The restaurant was dead. So much so, I don't think one table was occupied. Everyone was sitting in the bar area, as were we. Right about the time our suppers were delivered, a large group arrived. They were there for a grooms dinner. They had a whole section all to themselves. My Fish Fry was served in a metal cone. They had wrapped paper inside the cone and stuffed it full of Fries & Fish. I dumped everything out of the cone onto the plate it came on. Woo Wee. Lots & lots of Potato Wedges. The Wedges reminded me of the kind you would get with Broasted Fried Chicken. Jo-Jos. The Cod was golden fried. The loins were skinny, but long. Cutting in, if I didn't know ahead of time, I would have figured the Fish to be Pollack. It didn't have the fresh white pearl color I've come to know with Cod. It had the darker grey color Pollack has. I'll take Morgan's at their word that it was Cod. It sure tasted good. The batter was crunchy and flavorful. The Cod was moist and mild in flavor. Alyssa wasn't totally impressed with her sandwich. It was adequate, but for the price, she was expecting more. I took a couple of bites and it just lacked flavor. Our service was prompt. I got asked about a reorder in a timely fashion. I asked for two more pieces. I ended up getting three. They were just as fine as the initial order. When it came time to settle up our bill, Alyssa & I decided to go Dutch. Our server split the bill with no issues. The All-You-Can-Eat Friday Night Fish Fry costs $12.95. That price is high for what you get. Only the Fish is AYCE. Plus, it comes in a cone. For $13, please put my supper on a plate. The service here stands out. Great teamwork throughout the staff. As I look into my crystal ball, I foresee a meet up here with Burnsville Yelper Dita & her hubby Steve.

The service this evening was brutally slow. We had a group of seven people and there were roughly six to eight other tables full, so a pretty tame night. We arrived at 6:15 and didn't receive drinks until 6:45. We ordered, saw the staff yelling at each other in the kitchen, and our meals arrived at 7:40! As expected half our meals were cold, you couldn't even feel the warmth that was once in the food. The waitress was kind and took them off our bill and even offered free desserts. This brought the tables hopes back up a little. Those hopes faded quickly as it took 20 minutes to bring cheesecake and icecream to the table. When the desserts arrived we quickly asked for our bill which we promptly received but couldn't pay for another 30 minutes because the waitress was no where to be found. Turns out the bartender can't ring up bills without the waitresses code. We finally were able to hastily exit the restaurant at 9. My sisters birthday dinner was a fail. I sadly won't be back here again until I hear changes have been made.

The staff is the best thing about Morgans, they are always very nice and helpful. The food is average to above average. Nothing that I can highly recommend but it's never busy so it's a great weekend dinner spot. You will get the same quality (if not better) as the Burnsville Olive Garden or Outback but you won't have To wait an hour.

Second visit I had a choped salad that was soaked in a disgusting sweet dressing and a piece of chicken like shoe leather. Not in a hurry to return.

I was pleasantly surprised, this was a mid level restaurant with a large bar and multiple hdtv's. blue burger is recommended, just be sure you say med. rare. medium was done a bit too much.

Stayed at the Best Western Inn that is connected to Morgans. There were 9 in our group for dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the prime rib, which was very good. Breakfast was a different story. There were just two of us and we came in at 9:30, were seated immediately & our order was taken. Forty minutes later our food started to arrive. I had the vegy omelet - broccoli tasted old, outside of omelet over cooked to a brown crusty color. I love omelets, but this one left a lot to be desired. My hubby ordered biscuits and gravy, two eggs sunny side up and toast. The biscuits and gravy were brought first and he told the waitress he was supposed to have eggs and toast with it. She said yes, just a minute, they're coming. A few minutes went by and she brought him his two eggs. He then said, I also ordered toast. She said yes, it's coming. A few minutes went by and she brought him his toast. It did not look like the bread was even toasted, it was pure white. By now his eggs were cold and he had basically white bread to eat with his eggs. He also said the biscuits and gravy were some of the worst he has had. He was pretty much disgruntled with the place On a positive note, the staff is very pleasant and helpful.

Went here while my parents were in town and staying at the best western; we hadn't tried it yet so thought "why not, it's right there?" No one (party of 5) really liked their food (fish and chips, club sandwich was dry, scallops were too salty, and walleye was eh). Our server was nice, refilled drinks as needed and engaging. Their location is convenient for those staying at the hotel but we won't be back.

I recently had dinner at Morgan's for the second time. It was greatness. See, however many months back, we attended the Taste of Lakeville and sampled what Morgan's had to offer, which we remembered being very impressed with. So I immediately found it on the menu and waited to order. Oh, "it" being the grass fed filet which is served on top of a creamy onion risotto and topped with a deliciously smokey tomato-demi glaze. It was pretty much perfect. Filet was ordered rare plus and came out just right. It was more tender and flavorful that I expected. The risotto and sauce are killer accompaniments (their sides of veggies are usually very "bleh" though, you can just go ahead + slide that plate on out of your way) Needless to say, this visit in particular was very worthy of 5 stars.

Yesterday (9/13/2015) was their first Sunday Brunch. It was outstanding. Huge selection of fresh organic food plus an omelette station. The servers were constantly checking our table to see if there was anything else they could do for us. This is the best Sunday Brunch in the south metro.

It's lent season and as a non-religious person I'm all about exploiting it for my personal benefit as I visit all you can eat fish fry places. I came across this one on my search. The food was decent and our waitress was nice, however I was disappointed with the overall experience. This place is attached to a hotel and I'm not sure how the staffing works. Our waitress had a name tag with the hotel on it so I'm guessing they share staff. The beer selection was quite poor and for a Friday night the place seemed under staffed. I ordered the all you can eat fish fry special, and the prolonged wait in between getting orders of fish killed my appetite. It's fairly priced for $15.99, however if you're looking for a better experience I'd say go to Buffalo Tap and try the fish fry there for $10.99 (it's all year round too).

Food was ok and reasonably priced, but service was subpar. Had dinner with my book club. Took quite awhile to have our orders taken and then quite awhile to have our food served. My appetizer (French onion soup) was served at the same time as my meal, despite my order that I would "start with a bowl of the French onion soup." The server also made several errors when delivering our checks.

My wife and I had a $40 Crowd Cut voucher for Morgan's which was about to expire, so dim-diddly-do, we hopped in the car and made the trek south to Burnsville. The restaurant is attached to a Best Western and we swaggered in and there were like crickets chirping at 11:45 on a Saturday. We were literally the only two patrons in the establishment. The bartender told us to sit anywhere we wanted, so we chose a raised table nearby some college football games going on. I ordered a 25 oz O'dell IPA (Not bad at $7.50, perfect price for a big hand crafted beer) My wife got a Diet Coke. Our server (The bartender was a pretty cool guy, very nice and professional) I ordered the Reuben stuffed burger with fruit and my wife got a bowl of the daily soup, a broth based chicken, spicy type soup. We got a muffaleta to go. I finished the beer and ordered another to go with the meal. After about 15 minutes the burger came out and I attacked the pickle spear first. Good stuff, and then I finished off the fruit. It was a good mix of fruit, pineapple and melon and stuff. The bun was awesome, large and in charge. The burger spat out a juicy melange of 1000 island and briny goodness. I ordered it medium and it was a nice and succulent burger, but I really expected a lot of Reuben accents to it. I didn't really get the Reuben feel to it at all. I think one bite had a little saltiness from a corned beef slice. I was really disappointed because I had been anticipating this burger for at least 5 days by now. I am not a big burger guy, so when I get one, I want it to be extra special. There was nothing bad about this one, but it just didn't blow me away like I wanted it too. My wife's soup on the other hand was AMAZING! She gave me a bit, and it had the perfect amount of spiciness and it reminded me of a chicken tortilla soup, without the tortilla strips. Such good stuff. The muffaleta is sitting in the fridge waiting to be eaten, but it was a normal size, not like a lot of muffaletas that are the size of your head. This was normal size with a great looking bun that seemed like foccacia with some melted cheese on top. The meat is plentiful and a few slices of cheese added to the happiness. Good times. Can't wait to try it. Again, the service was fantastic. i think our bill came to $47.50 for the two of us. Not bad. It was kind of creepy having the whole restaurant to ourselves. Overall, I really wanted a blow away Reuben Burger, but ehh. Nothing bad, but nothing great.

Pot roast was really tough. Mashed potatoes & gravy were really good. Server was awesome. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty dead, which I like.

I feel like I want to give this place a 3.5/5 not a 4/5 however I rounded up because the food is very good. I have eaten here 3x now. I love their menu. I eat mostly organic and a very clean diet at home so I like how their meats are grass fed and use local and organic ingredients in all of their dishes. With that being said. Their food is good. I can't really complain about that. However their service is debatable. Maybe it is a fluke, and it isn't terrible enough that I would never return, the best word is UN-Attentive. It has taken me several minutes to even be acknowledged or seated (it's never very busy) and then even when seated it takes forever to be acknowledged or given a menu, or better yet a glass of water for when you are waiting for a menu. At one point I just got up and grabbed our own menus and went to the bar to order our breakfast. (I was pretty annoyed at this). So. I guess my advice is that you should definitely give this place a chance. Their food and menu is good. I have had the steak and eggs, and the pork chop (dinner menu), and bacon wrapped scallops. Just don't expect to be seated quickly or very attentive servers. I know they have new management and I hope these things will be improving. I will be coming back here to eat. I am sure a lot because it is the only place near by that offers decent quality food with a good menu. Just wish the service was better.

Morgan's surprised me. I wasn't expecting much from a hotel restaurant, but the plating was beautiful and the food was delicious. My boyfriend had an impressive glazed pork chop with chutney, and I had the smoked gouda meatloaf. My meatloaf was tender and flavorful, and the mashed potatoes were a delight. The pricing was just a touch higher than I expected, but for the quality of our dinner I think it's fair. I'm giving three stars for the time being because I would like to go back and confirm the quality. Update Edit: I'm keeping the rating the same. The food has always been great, but the service has been so slow every time we've been in.

New menu and new manager. This place is a new gem. The Filet might be the best steak I have had. I have a feeling you are going to hear more about this place in the next few month, right now it's a secret. I have a feeling that's going to change.

I was in town for work and met a friend at Morgan's- it was awesome! The atmosphere was great- neat water and fire features and stone everywhere. The service was perfect- enough care without too much hovering. My friend and I each loved our meal- I had the rueben stuffed burger, it was excellent- I was worried it would be too much but it was savory without being too intense to eat. The sweet potato fries were delish. My friend had the buffalo chicken wrap and loved it. I can't wait until I'm back for business in July so I can try one of the great looking chops. I cannot comment without a cheers to the wine list - great selection! Morgan's (and the hotel) have come a long way since my last visit!

My husband and I are frequent customers for both breakfast and lunch. We went for breakfast this morning, and as usual, we were the only customers in the restaurant. Therefore, I would expect excelllent service, but instead it was awful. First, they couldn't locate the champagne to make our mimosas, took over 15 minutes to get our drinks. Then the food took over 40 minutes, for pancakes and eggs!! My pancakes were practically burnt, my husband's sausage was raw and completely undercooked, his potatoes were so salty he couldn't eat them and the eggs were like rubber. We would have sent the food back, but our waitress disappeared and never asked how our meal was, instead she was busy with her cell phone. We finally flagged down the bartender who was busy chatting with another employee and 10 minutes later our waitress appeared and said she was busy folding napkins. Seriously!! I explained the food issue and she continued to get defensive and didn't offer any resolution. We wasted $50 on crummy drinks and food. Won't be going back for breakfast, and may not go back ever!

We were looking for a steak house on the way out of Minneapolis and this one was conveniently located right off the interstate. Our group of 6 got steaks prime rib and salmon. The food was pretty good and the steak was actually cooked to the correct level of done-ness. Portions were good and the cuts were big but average in taste and quality. Service was lacking but I'm going to cut the waitress some slack as she seemed new. I might come back here if I was in the area but I would NOT make a trip to come back

Dakota County Steakhouse, while not located in the best location (Inside a Hotel), proved to be a delicious dinner option. My wife and I had the Filet, salad, wine and dessert. It was all excellently prepared. Our waiter was very friendly and made sure we had a good time. It is a bit on the spendy side (not any more than other steak houses however). So, if you are interested in a good quiet dinner with great service, give DCS a try.
