I'm a frequent diner at Jensen's cafe in Burnsville. Love the place--quick friendly service, reasonable pricing, fresh ingredients, nice selection of menu choices (senior menu is nice--no sense paying extra for food I don't have room for). Here are my tips and suggestions for improvement: Bacon is very good. Cafe potatoes are yummy. The Ultimate BLT and various sandwich melts are great. All the omelet dishes are good and include large portions. Senior meal portions are pretty generous for the price. Things I wish were different: only romaine and iceberg lettuce (no spinach?) for salad choices. Side salad is iceberg only with two cucumber slices and tired tomatoes--You guys can do better than that! Lemon ricotta cakes are light on the fresh lemon flavor and heavy on nutmeg--Way too much nutmeg. The only syrup choice is Jensens special syrup--sure would love to be able to have good old plain maple syrup. Guess I'm just a purist. All that being said, love the place, bring my friends and family there, and always leave with a smile!

I love their breakfast sooo much and the fact that they serve it all day long everyday rocks my socks. They lost a star for closing by 8pm why not stay open for just a hour longer like most restuarants? Their tex mex food isn't great at all actually it was quite bland I would not recommend eatting anything else BUT the breakfast menu. Thanks for have a few patio tables to sit at when the sun is out during summer months I also love that Jensen's!

I have no idea how you could give this place less than five stars. I've been here 5 times now and it has been terrific every time. The omelets are to die for and the peach french toast is one of the most interesting breakfast flavor combos ever.

Food/Drink: The food is probably the most consistent good breakfast/brunch stuff I've had. I go for a waffle combo (changing it to a blueberry waffle because I can) and go at it. Other people have ordered the hashes, huervos or benedicts without any complaints. But really, if you haven't already figured it out, make sure you order something that comes with syrup (butter, caramel, homemade awesome). You're doing yourself a disservice by not having it. In fact, order the syrup and a side of waffles or pancakes instead. Ambiance: No complaints here. When you're waiting (which you'll most likey be doing during the peak breakfast/brunch times, you're outside in the hallway so there's no stress. When inside, you get the idea that they're efficient and organized. The tables, booths and chairs are just normal. Pick up some parts of the newspaper on the way to your table and get a cup of coffee and enjoy it. Service: Brunch/Breakfast can get notably complicated, especially in large groups. These guys have it down to a science. Get seated and you've got coffee or your drink moving quickly. Back in a perfect time to get your orders in and I've rarely (if ever) seen a mistake and we can be a little high maintenance at times. The bills at your table when everyone's finished. If you need anything else during the meal, they're there and available, always checking in. Overall: Good solid food and the syrup alone is worth it. Kid friendly and adults can relax and not stress out. Be aware of the wait during rush hours (not for your food, just for the table) and you'll be fine. Best to put your name on the list and go for a little pre-game walk in the neighborhood

YUM! Just YUM! The first time we tried to come here it was a Sunday afternoon & expected we were going to get in right away like idiots. There was a 30 minute wait and we were starving so we left and was left with a bad expeience. We have now been here 3 times. This is a great spot to go for breakfast and lunch. The food is good and the service is good as well. The price is reasonable and not expensive at all. Blindly you'd probably be able to guess almost every single item on the menu. They do eggs, waffles, pancakes, sandwiches, and everything else you'd imagine a cafe to be doing. What you wouldn't expect is that their burgers are amazing insanely juicy the meat cooked to my medium-well preference perfection and super tasty. The food is amazing! hands down. One suggestions come during lunch on a weekday otherwise you will have to wait.

Before I mention why I'm not likely to return, shout out for Garrett, our server; excellent service. So here's the thing; the food. It truly is not worth the price. My wife and kids ordered breakfast food. The kids dinners were off the children's menu. I ordered the Jensen's Club. Dissecting the order, let's start with my daughters "Jonny Cakes". Dry. Dry as in use a knife to cut a pancake dry. My sons? The toast was burnt and I later found out the eggs were underdone. Hmmm. My wife's eggs were also undercooked. As an argument, they did order "over easy". Last I checked, that's only defined as runny yolk. Out of curiosity, I'm going to look into that more. Perhaps not. My club was rather under par. Bland comes to mind. Or boring? Okay stop. I ordered the chipotle mayo on the side. Ok go! Still boring. A (very) slight touch of heat with no smokiness (remember chipotle) with a bunch of green peppers (or something) in it. The cheese in this grilled sandwich was also unmelted. Unimpressed. Is yet another establishment succumbing to cutting back to the point where quality is affected as well? Was the cook just distracted? Does the food just honestly suck? Perhaps you'll decide for yourself. Keep in mind I'm stuggling to give a 3-star. If not for the good service... Oh! I'll mention as well, with tip but no alcohol, $57.00. Kids meals off the kids menu.

Came for lunch. Place is nice and bright. Ordered turkey burger with apples and chutney. Extremely dry and overlooked. Apples and chutney were not on top of burger and if they did cook in with the meat it didn't help. Sweet potato fries warm and over done. Disappointed.

Onion scramble with Onion Browns topped with Cheesy Onions. My mother (unintentionally) taught me that cramming onions in all your food doesn't make it taste any better. Unfortunately Jensen's hasn't learned this lesson and they try to cover up their sub-par entrees with a dollop of onions. To make matters worse they aren't even fully cooked onions so you get the apple crunchiness with every bite. I have given more than enough attempts at having a good meal here (3 times) and each time I can't run away with onions constantly making their way into my meals. First time it came mixed in the omelet, second attempt it was in the hash browns with cheese which does not note that it has onions in it. Lastly, it was in my omelet again despite requesting no onions. In fact when I asked about the Cafe! potatoes or hash browns without onions they told me that both come pre-mixed with onions in it so fruit is your only side option to escape the onion madness. Its an "onion cover-up" and I'm not falling for it. A lot of natives rave that Jensen's is one of the best around, but I'm not on board. Jensen's is not on level-awful, but they are internationally adding onions to everything to cover up the real taste. Venture to the Jensen's supper club in Eagan (same owners) about 5 miles away and the food their is much better and centered around dinner vs a breakfast theme at the Cafe.

I am giving a review of three stars because the Oatmeal Cakes and coffee that I purchased was pretty damn good;) I usually make my own pancakes from a box of Kodiak cakes at home. The coffee is unusually delicious and hot, my waitress kept it hot. The home made syrup must be a mixture of caramel and real maple syrup as it was delicious. Nicely done but I'd try to improve on the over all quality of ingredients. Thanks for a midwestern breakfast. Good country music to!

Pretty tasty breakfast - well prepared and fresh - had the egg white omelette, which can be very bland, but this was distinctive. Will be returning soon!

For breakfast, french toast and eggs benedict were delicious. Lunch, turkey club had a tasty flavored mayo on it. The portions were generous and we knew exactly what we were getting when ordering off the menu. The line can be long, but they provide free coffee and there is a shop to browse while waiting. Park in the lot next door to avoid the tiny parking lot. I'm looking forward to trying out the patio tables this summer.

There is no public wifi eventhough you always have to wait a half hour to be seated for brunch. The person at the counter maybe did not mean to have such a snoty tone about her when we asked abiut the wifi password. Coffee while you wait is a nice touch. It must the lack of choice out here that makes people wait so long for just slightly above average food. I stopped coming here a year ago for those reasons' nothing has changed. Maybe next year.

I don't think it is an unreasonable expectation to go to a restaurant and expect to stay for a comfortable amount of time without being rushed the entire meal, or asked to leave to make room for another party. I had fond memories of going to Jensen's years ago with my family so I was excited to go out for brunch with my mom and sister just like we had years ago. Apparently Jensen's has changed quite a bit since then.... During the entire meal our waitress rushed us in every way possible, she made it clear she wanted us out ASAP. As soon as we paid (much earlier than we would have liked to) another staff member came up to our table and asked us to leave because "we have a large party who has been waiting to sit down for a long time." Excuse me?? Not only are you kicking us out but now you are making us feel guilty for making other people wait? I could understand if we were there for an unreasonable amount of time long after we paid, or if we were being loud/obnoxious but this was a very quick brunch, totally uncalled for. It is not an unreasonable expectation to go to a restaurant and stay for a comfortable amount of time without being kicked out at the end as soon as you pay. Needless to say, we will not be back.
