There was quite a wait, although it wasn't busy. The food was decent. I ordered bacon-wrapped scallops with Fettuccine Alfredo. The bacon was unevenly cooked and was not crispy at all. The Fettuccine Alfredo wasn't fresh, and its sauce was dry and bland for my taste. This restaurant is probably a little overpriced for the overall quality and taste of what is served. I liked the atmosphere though, and the service was great- I'll give it that.

Just SKIP Shrimp and Lobster linguini. .. Menu describes: "Sumptuous Lobster and Plump Shrimp...." Actual: Salad sized shrimp and lobster fragments from the tip of the tip of the claw. 1/8" thick at most. Less than 1 inch long. Sad. This review is for this entree. Service = 5 Taste= 4 Value for this entree = 1. Avoid. You WILL be disappointed in the seafood amount for 22 bucks. No lobster tiny shrimp. It's basically creamy pasta.

Normally I would give Chianti grill 4-5 stars, but their service today was horrible. Our group of 6 was told happy hour seating in the bar area was first come first served, and the server refused to seat three of our group by pulling a table together to enable us to be seated together. The attitude of the wait staff and hostess was unwelcoming and almost hostile to seating us as a group. Although this is a favorite restaurant with good food, we will not be returning anytime soon.

I really enjoyed the Bacon Wrapped Scallops, Blackened Ribeye, and Tiramisu. The service was excellent. The server was very attentive to my table. The bread at the beginning was alright but the butter tasted extremely good.

I miss when it was Ciaiti's, but the taste still is amazing! I still love their lasagna! I always ask for the original breadsticks too-even though I know the servers get annoyed! But i don't care-it's not a trip to Ciaiti's/Chianti grill without the breadsticks!

I have eaten here several times because it is a favorite place of a friend. She likes to sit and drink $9 glasses of wine and I enjoy the buffet. We have also ordered off the menu. I have had the spicy chicken pasta entree and been able to bring home enough for another meal. However, it wasn't very spicy/tasty on the first day but it got better. However, the dishes are swimming in oil or butter. I usually order buffet which changes daily and is reasonable at $10. There is usually at least one good item plus a salad on the buffet. Unfortunately, I agree with the reviews about the poor service as I have noticed the servers standing around visiting with each other while we wait for water, wine, our appetizer or the check. The staff is friendly with long time employees so maybe they just take it for granted that we will keep returning. I have had much better Italian food than what is served here but unfortunately not in Minnesota. This place is close and convenient for us.

The Sunday brunch is AMAZING. We have eaten here dozens of times and it is consistently good! Never had anything but good service and great food.

I have been here a couple times before and it has been superb. Food is great, usually super good service. Until today... It took us at least 20 minutes to get menus after our drinks at the bar and the servers are more about bull shitting than expediting. It was less than crowded, and the bartender seemed incredibly under-whelmed with her job. I don't think I saw someone so anti-customer service in my entire time frequenting restaurants. I feel terrible writing such a terrible review for somewhere that I like so much, but the staff needs some work.

My family has been going here for a long time, always a great experience. When you do not want to leave the Burnsville area its one of three other restaurants you can rely on in Burnsville/Apple Valley for delicious food and a great experience. Anything we order here is delicious. They do a great job doing "Americanized" Italian food. I usually get the Spinach Ravioli with both pesto and marinara (because I am indecisive) and it is delicious and fulfills my Italian food craving. Other dishes we always order that are always great: Ribeye, Chicken Marsala, Chicken Saltimbocca, and any Gnocchi dish. Service has always been wonderful and the layout of the restaurant is comfortable and provides privacy for your table. There is an abundance of private-feeling booths and I love that! (Also they have great take-out here, but on the downside, they make you wait in the bar area awkwardly for it rather than having some other designated area for take-out).

Good food, good cocktails, good atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience here. Always plenty of food with good flavor and a pleasant staff. One of my go-to's in the South Metro.

Went here for the first time today. The lunch buffet is modest but a good value for $9.99. I had the Tortellini Straw & Hay , it was good. Our server was very nice and friendly and the service itself was quick and timely

I was really surprised to see so many favorable reviews of Chianti Grill on here. My husband and I tried it for the first time this weekend and found the it just didn't meet expectations at all. We've driven by it many times and the outside of the building lead me to expect upscale Italian food in an elegant atmosphere. And truly they only got that half right - the restaurant itself has a very classy decor and vibe to it. But from the moment we were greeted something just seemed "off" First of all we walked in at a very slow time, before the dinner rush, but when we asked for a table for two we were told it was a 60 minute wait. But we were the only guests in the lobby waiting and I could see multiple open tables behind the host stand. I've worked in the service industry before so I know that what a guest sees isn't always the full picture. But I also know that what a guest sees is important because it colors their experience. Anyways, we opted to sit on the patio instead, even though it was in the 90's outside. The service, beyond the initial impression at the host stand, was fine. It wasn't exemplary or outstanding, but it wasn't terrible either. Where I was grossly disappointed was in the lackluster quality of the food. We ordered an appetizer, the calamari, and when it came, I literally thought it could have been from Costco. There was not one hint of seasoning in the batter, including salt and pepper. It was so bland, and tasteless that it was like eating rubber bands. The garnish was awkward, just a piece of lettuce, off to the side, and there were only calamari rings, not the typical rings and tentacles you get at other restaurants. There was one small, dried up lemon wedge, which I couldn't even get a drop of juice from and two mediocre dipping sauces, only half full in their tiny metal cups. Next we received our salads, I had the balsamic Gorgonzola side salad and he had the garden salad with house Italian. The lettuce on my plate was rusty, and that's all there was, lettuce. No tomatoes, croutons, other veggies, literally just a plate of rusty lettuce with some balsamic dressing on it, for an up charge above the price of the garden salad that comes with an entree. My husbands salad was literally iceberg lettuce and shredded carrots, with a bright orange dressing that looked more like Western than Italian. His salad looked like it was out of a Dole bag. During the time before our entrees came out, we never received bread either, though it finally came out with dinner. The bread was not house made, but just a pre bought bread in a basket. It wasn't even warm. For our entrees my husband had the bacon wrapped scallops and I had the Gnocchi Alla Campagna. When his plate came, the bacon around the scallops was falling off onto the side of the plate and was so unevenly cooked that parts were crispy and parts were so raw as to be inedible. He also had the garlic mashed potatoes which came in shallow ramekin with only about three tablespoons of potatoes in it. My Gnocchi had small parts of severely overlooked asparagus spears in it, though the dish said nothing about asparagus on the menu. And it was just the yellowing, over cooked stems, no heads. It was supposed to have tomatoes on it, but didn't. The sauce lacked any flavor or seasoning, but the Gnocchi themselves were soft and pillowy, which honestly made me think that they had to be store bought or frozen because their quality was so inconsistent with the rest of the meal. All in all, including beverages, our bill was over $80, which was a terrible value considering the horrible quality of the food. I have NEVER said this before, but I seriously think we could have got a better meal at the Olive Garden! You know something is truly awful when even Olive Garden food tastes better than it. We will never be going back to Chianti Grill again.

Service is always excellent ....food is always delicious ....ambience is very nice..., what can I say.... consistently a great restaurant... I have been going here for years and years and I cannot say one bad thing!!

Way too expensive for what is offered. Wife and I have gone here a couple times but only on gift cards we were given. We waited 10-15 minutes before anyone came to give us menus and take our drink order. This was around 3 pm on a quiet Sunday afternoon Tried the crab claws they were ok but nothing to write home about. On previous visits I've tried the filet Mignon as well and for 30-35 dollars it's just not that good. Don't think we will be back.

I always have great service every time I come here. We have become regulars. They are very accommodating and do pretty well with reservations. Great for groups and any event you are planning. I held a baby reveal party here for my best friend and it turned out great. The food is excellent!! I recommend the blackened tenderloin beef tips cooked to perfection at a medium and Cajun lightly seasoned. You can choose to cook it longer but I feel it loses it's juicy flavor the longer you cook it. Their Bruschetta app is also delicious with grilled bread topped with fresh tomatoes, basil, garlic, olive oil and dusted with Parmesan cheese. The stuffed mushrooms are delicious too and I don't even like mushrooms. Those were my favorite appetizers. Now for entrées I recommend the Spicy Chicken Flatbread. It is a thin pizza with a Cajun cream sauce, grilled chicken, pepperoncini, red onion and mozzarella. I tried this at the party I threw and loved it! Another mouthwatering delicious flatbread they have is their Sausage Basil. So good! It's also a thin pizza with a light tomato sauce, sausage, chopped basil, crushed red pepper and mozzarella. I like that they cook their flatbread in a way that doesn't scorch the bottom. I don't like that burnt taste at other places I order flatbreads but Chianti does an amazing job of not burning it. I could go through all the things I've eaten here but those are my top choices every time I come here! You will have to try it for yourself and let me know what is your favorite!

What a nice surprise. Great Italian comfort food. Loved the bruschetta and the spaghetti with meatballs.

Went there for dinner with my wife tonight. My veal parmigiana was hot and tasty. My wife's dish was cold. They comped her meal and served some good calamari (wife's request). The service was great and did well to turn a negative to a positive.

Excellent food and service for a surprisingly reasonable price. I would recommend as a 'special occasions' restaurant in Burnsville, instead of going into the metro.

  • Mike D.

From the minute you walk into the restaurant, you will be impressed by it's openness as well as subtle class. Casual attire is fine, but not too casual. Service was on par for this class of restaurant and the food was delicious. The wait was minimal at 8:00 on a Friday night and the waiting chairs were both comfy and continue the subtle classiness of the restaurant.

Wonderful food and ambiance! The filet mignon was Amazing! Expensive, but worth it for special occasions.

This place never disappoints! Food is consistently wonderful. Service is fabulous. 4 examples of how great they are I every situation. Took my Gluten free mom there....they have the best GF menu. My mom loves she can get great GF in such a ice restaurant Took my Sister in law and her "meat and potatoes" husband. Their plates were clean when they left and they said even though it looks fancy very comfortable and easy going place. They said it was a great choice and they were glad to be introduced to such a great restaurant. Went there for a Holiday party of 8 that turned into 6... no problem... they rolled with the punches got rid of chairs and everyone found something tasty on the menu. Service was fantastic and not one complaint out of the whole group... Went for brunch...with out of town friends. Service was fabulous and the food selection was great even though they were busy they did great at restocking and keeping people happy On a whim we went to a chain pasta place one night when we were left with no plans. Screaming children were literally running between the tables and the dad was screaming at them but never actually got up. The food was bland. We said for $2-3 more for an entrée we could have eaten at Chianti grill.... never make that mistake again.

We went on a Saturday evening. The service was fantastic. The food was delicious, and I just had standard lasagna. The portions were plentiful. We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated, but that was no problem because a waiter came over and served us drinks while we sat on the waiting couches. We also tried their desserts, which were great. Next time I will try their giant slice of carrot cake, which is the size of my face.

    (5)
  • Nicole H.

Stopped in for the first time, drinks were delicious! Hubby and I tried 4 different and all four were great. Artichoke dip was great and everything we had was great! We had to sit in the bar and our tiny table was wobbly and we had a lot of traffic of people waiting for a table, but other than that, we would come back.

  • Jen S.

Buyer beware! Juice and coffee are not included during brunch! You will also be charged for refills! Most servers will not disclose this. We were charged $8 for 2 orange juices, which came in a glass filled with ice. Who puts orange juice on ice? I was also charged $3 for 1 small cup of coffee. Brunch itself is very good, but they charge a ridiculous amount for coffee and juice without informing you what you are being charged for :( Go to brunch, drink water.

Terrific evening! I ordered the shrimp lobster pasta dish, very tasty and came out nice and hot! My husband had a pasta dish with spicey sausage with a red sauce. Server was great and knowledgable. My only complaint was the menu that I received was very dirty with something that had spilled on it. Wish we had enough room for dessert the carrot cake looked amazing!!

Great visit to Chianti. Chianti Grill is pretty much our "go to" to place for a great dining experience. I had the blackened Ribeye which was huge and cooked perfectly. It was very tender and cut like butter. I really enjoyed it. I always get the garlic mashed potato side and it was great as well. Also, the Caramelized onions we re so, so good. My wife had the chicken Fettuccine Alfredo. It was loaded with veggies and very fresh and good. She said it was one of the better Alfredo's she has had. The restaurant is really cool inside and always has great ambiance. You really feel you are someplace special when you dine there. The beer and wine lists are really good. Many good beers on tap and bottle as well. Our server was good, however, he preferred to kneel down at our table which I didn't really like. And he spoke very softly which can be bad at a full house restaurant. But he was polite and prompt. They took us right at our reservation time which was good considering it was a Friday. Overall a great dinner out and I gave 5 stars. Once again, our favorite local restaurant. It never disappoints.

I have had some exquisite food here, especially the bacon wrapped scallops. Even the things I didn't care for as much were always good. The staff has always been kind, cheerful and knowledgeable.

One dish to definitely start with..bacon wrapped scallops! The best! Walnut Gorgonzola chicken salad...never had a bad meal or poor service here. Servers actually know their wines too! DELICIOUS!!

My wife and live this place so much we debated giving it a single star to keep y'all away. Friendly service, fantastic Italian dishes that leave you craving more. In fall the pumpkin tiramisu is, well so good I become depressed it's only seasonal.

Very welcoming place. Good food and excellent service. Our waiter Xavier was delightful. Try the prosciutto arugula flatbread.

  • Karl W.

Most of the menu is always good. Bread club member and nearly 25 dining experiences. My top recommendations include any steak, the lunch buffet (especially the Gorgonzola salad) or the Sunday brunch buffet that is loaded with baked goodies. Any of their pastas are a wise choice as well. Same owners as Porterhouse in Lakeville which has some of the finest steaks around.

A favorite of both my husband and I, Chianti Grill never disappoints. Tonight I had the Cashew Crusted Sea Bass. It was incredible. My husband had his favorite, Spicy Chicken Penne. It's still his favorite. Over the years, we have sampled most of their phenomenal steaks. The Ahi tuna appetizer is nothing short of outstanding. The ravioli is wonderful. Honestly, you cant go wrong. Just be sure to upgrade to the Gorg-Walnut Salad. It's a must in my book. Wonderful food and service!

  • Rachael L.

Been to brunch numerous times. It is a nice buffet with a lot of selection from the traditional eggs, bacon, waffles, to broccoli salad, steamed veggies and fish. Not to mention the dessert table with a ton of selection - I had the traditional cheesecake with blackberry sauce and a slice of cookies n cream cheesecake. Good place to go with groups, we always go for a family birthday, however it does get pretty loud. I've also been for dinner, always been good!

  • Tony K.

The food is awesome. Brunch is a great value...With that being said, they've seemed to have some staff turn around. The last three times we've gone for dinner the service has been horrendous. These experiences varied from busy times to 830 on a weeknight when they weren't busy at all. We ended up leaving the table to order a drink directly from the bar. Our friends who frequent there at least twice a week have made the same observation. You spend too much money not to have decent service even when the place is dead.

  • J L.

This was my second time eating here and again I was satisfied. The ambiance, service, and food were excellent. I had the bruschetta, cream of broccoli soup, and veal sorento. All excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Surprisingly, my wife suggested Chianti Grill; it's been a while since we'd been here. With the no gluten thing going on in our family, Italian restaurants are generally out. However, they do have a gluten free menu w/ good options! I always think Bloody Mary when Chianti Grill comes up in conversation. The drink comes with a little meal on a stick with cheese and stuff. The actual drink is good too. For beer buffs, they have an expanded menu of craft beers! Judy, our server, was great! We only ordered appetisers and drinks this time. Everything, other than the bill (which was a bit pricy) was good.

Delicious margherita pizza and yummy crab claws. The food is fantastic and the service is great. Kind staff and lovely atmosphere. My favorite restaurant!

Always amazing! Tonight though we had their bacon wrapped pork tenderloin special, which was so amazing!! I can see why the chef won three awards for it. They said it will be going on the menu. As it should!! A must get!!

  • Joe B.

Three stars at best. I felt like the waiter was trying to sell me a used car and kept telling me how great of a time I was having. The food was alright- I could have had better shrimp Alfredo at Olive Garden and the baked pasta was pretty flavorless. Overall just not the upscale italian I was hoping for.

Seated very quickly after I made reservation on Open Table. Food was really good and so was service. 2 minor complaints I did feel a little rushed my the waitress. I was here on business and are alone. I guess I didn't spend enough money to have a relaxing slow dinner. Only other thing is my salad came with cracked pepper on it. I didn't ask for it nor do I like it. Even with these things YES I will be back next time I am in town.

I will say upfront that I'm a regular. And, why wouldn't I be? The food and the service is what I want in a good restaurant. Last night, I had the Seafood Cannelloni. My three partners in the food festival loved their food as well. We topped the evening off with a wedge of carrot cake, wow! The menu is varied--I've enjoyed steaks there as well. My wife used to think I overdid my visits there, but she's hooked now, too!

My husband and I went in for lunch on Valentine's Day. He ordered the lunch buffet, which he said was great, and I ordered a cheeseburger well done (don't judge). The burger came out under done (surprise). I had taken a few bites before I realized it. The waitress must have see it walking up because she asked if it was cooked enough. I requested one that had no pink in the middle. Not a problem she said, and she whisked the plate away. 5 minutes later, some guy brought out a plate with my partially eaten burger on it! Kind of gross if you ask me (and it was burned). I wasn't going to complain again, so I ate a little and took the rest home. I wrote to them via their website, and received a notification that I would be contacted soon about my experience. Of course, no one contacted me. I'd heard great things about the food and service, but didn't have that experience.

I was just passing by and saw this place and figured it might be a good place to catch a sandwich. But at the end of the day when I did stop in I was really surprised. Very nice decor, friendly greeters and very good Italian food. Just the right portions. I and my associate, were very pleased with the food and the service. We will be back when in town for the next event at the St. Paul Fairgrounds.

I am a regular here! Great food, and such a nice atmosphere! Lunch is good too! I love the spicy steak tips for an appetizer, the flatbreads are great (try the prosciutto arugula) and of course you can't go wrong with the pastas and salads (calamari!) the waitstaff is always great and very professional. Go to chianti!!

  • Westley E.

Went to Chianti Grill with 6 other friends. The server seemed confused most of the time. two at our table ordered the full Caesar's salad. Twenty minute after ordering, we're told they were out of Caesar's Salad. They got the side salads wrong as well. Three people at our table ordered the ribeye steak. Two of the steaks were beautiful cuts, tender and cooked near requested. Mine was an odd shaped cut and tough. Tasted good, but my jaw hurt after dinner. I'm hoping we came on a bad night. May try again.

This was a lovely bar & grill. My aunt and I shut the place down. I think they would have let us stay longer, but we felt bad and we thought they should get to go home too. They kept are drinks full and were very friendly. Thanks for an awesome visit.

Everytime I'm here, it just keeps getting BETTER! Hubs and I made reservations for Sunday Brunch since its close to home and I wanted to check it out. Tons of food choices at a reasonable price for Brunch ($12.95). The place is busy so I would recommend reservations, but they would accomodate you if you just stopped in as well. Hostesses are always friendly when we arrrive. Servers are top notch and while you are there... order a Bloody Mary. Its an appetizer on a stick!!

  • Jennie D.

Great place for lunch/dinner, but wouldn't eat brunch there again. They do not take call ahead seating. It was a 45 minute wait (got there at 12:30 pm) and they had several large parties which they didn't seem to anticipate because my party of two got to the buffet and there were no plates and most of the food was in need of a refill. The scrambled eggs were very under cooked and there wasn't really anything being served that would have made me want to go back. They did have some good looking desserts, but other than that I was disappointed.

The hospitality is hard to beat at the Chianti Grill. The gorgonzola salad is fabulous. The chicken marsala is even better than that. My two favorites.

Stopped here for dessert and after dinner drinks. Carrot cake was wonderful and the service was excellent. Prices seemed a tad high for the market though. Overall, I look forward to returning for dinner.

My wife and I have been eating here for years even when it was Ciattis on the other side of the parking lot. I have ventured out across much of the menu but my favorite by far is the spicy chicken penne pasta. If you are carbing up for a 5k and happen to also like pesto and Cajun flavor- it's a must. Yeah who am I kidding... I'm not running a 5k so I'm just going to stuff my face. The only thing that ticks me off about this place is when you show up on a Sunday and they have the stupid "Brunch" setup. I want my penne pasta and the manager is telling me "no you would much rather eat from a sterno heated bucket of pasta that we premade for you." Stupid. Why not give your customers a freaking choice?

  • David H.

Stopped in for brunch on the recommendation of a friend and unfortunately didn't have the same type of experience. Server dumped one glass of water all over the table and chair....did he replace it...nope....and he only checked on us once. Most of the brunch offerings were continually out upon multiple attempts up to see about replenishment. The only decent thing was he Bloody Mary .... There are too many better options with better service to ever make a return.

This restaurant is newly remodeled and they did a good job. It's a brand new building, across from the old one. It's a beautiful building with vaulted ceilings. It's very roomy and open in there. Very romantic, lights are turned down and dim. Definitely a date restaurant. Bring your sweety here! The food was awesome. The appetizers we had were Frittura di Calamari, Seared- Rare Sushi Grade Ahi Tuna and Crab Claws. All three appetizers are delicious and I highly recommend all three. Yes after all the appetizers, we had entrees, too. I had the Seafood Cannelloni and my date had Steak. My Cannelloni was so creamy and had tons of seafood in it, but I was full by the time my entree came. The steak was cooked very well. I would recommend both entrees. The server was aewsome, knew the menu very well. Had great suggestions. If you go to their website, you can make reservations online which is a great perk.

My wife and I had dinner at Chianti Grill with my son and his girlfriend, and really enjoyed our evening out together. We arrived about 6:00 pm on a Saturday evening, and had to wait about 35 minutes for a table, which is not too bad. I ordered the special of the evening, seafood lasagna, and thought it was excellent. My wife had chicken campanelli, and she said her food was great too. My son and his girlfriend both had steak, and were both very pleased with their meals. The customer service we received was excellent, as we had 3 service people check on us to see how the steaks were done. And although we did not have any this evening, Chianti Grill also has a very extensive wine list as well. Chianti Grill is definitely going on my short list.

My wife and I have been here many times over the past several years. We have always enjoyed the food and never had a bad experience with a server. I have yet to order a dish that I didn't want seconds of! Whenever we want to treat ourselves, we come here!

First, if Sarah is working as the manager and you have any problems I promise she will take care of you and make sure your experience is great...treat here well and she will treat you well twice-fold. Everything I have had at this place is great and I have been here about 20 times...the cost is big city style, but worth it. Friendly people, good atmosphere, and great food!

Family and I grabbed dinner here about a week ago. It was a great experience. We all had different assortments of fish and everybody enjoyed them. The service was friendly and attentive, the drinks were as good as you should expect. Atmosphere is very classy and comfortable. The price was a bit bit high, but not ridiculous.

We were first timers there, finding it on yelp in the first place. Very nice atmosphere. We were there on a Sat nite at 9pm, so wasn't real busy. Service was ok to start, after our drinks came she seemed to disappear for a while before coming back to take our order. The five of us all ordered different menu items and apps. We were all very satisfied in the taste and portion of the meals. Very tasty. Service was much better second half of the meal. Didn't have any room for dessert, maybe next time. Would definitely recommend to others to try.

I have been here a couple times with a group of extended family. Both times I ordered the Seafood Cannelloni. The first time I was completely blown away, took a picture of the dish, sang it's praises on the mountain tops, declared it the best dish I have ever eaten and made several attempts to duplicate it at home (with varying success). The second time it was quite delicious but not quite as mind blowing. Everyone at the table seemed satisfied with their meal albeit until the check came. It's a bit spendy but I really liked the decor and the waitstaff was friendly and quick. Besides, I didn't actually have to PAY the bill, I just caught a glimpse of it. In short, for me, it's above Macaroni Grill but just a bit below Buca.

Great service! Always had someone there to help and answer questions or get anything I need. Delicious food! The prosciutto was too salty for my taste but thats how it's suppose to be. Definitely a place to go back and try as many menu items as possible!

I have been dining here since they were in their old location at the end of the shopping center next door. Always great service and great food. They have great happy hour specials. Also a pretty tasty brunch buffet on Sundays! A great restaurant that is a sister to their upscale steakhouse "Porterhouse" just down the road in Lakeville.

Amazing food, staff nothing close in the south metro let alone the comparing to the choices offered in MN twin city area. Please don't compare to chain restaurants, it is insulting to my food palate and shows the ignorance of yours!

Great tasting food, we had the classics Spaghetti & Meatballs and my wife had the lasagna. Both dishes were very tasty and plenty full. The only complaint was service, our appetizer came in way before our order was taken, then the plates sat in a corner of the table for several minutes. The soups and salads arrived within seconds of finishing the appetizer. All in all we will repeat since the food was very good for reasonable prices.

I really, really like this place. That said, I don't eat dinner here often but my boyfriend and I stop in here when we want to sneak out for a quick happy hour. The bar is cozy and the staff is always really friendly. Their specialty drinks are fun and interesting too. We decided to try their brunch last weekend with the kids and it was great! We arrived at 11:00 on a Sunday and there was about a 30 minute wait. The bar was completely empty, however, so they let us all sit there with OJs for the kidlets and mimosas for the adults. The brunch itself was really good and pricing was reasonable. The only gripe is the chef at the omelette bar was kicking out 'scrambles' rather than omelettes, but they were still good.

As a retired couple who eat out a lot from Minnesota to Florida we had one of our worst meals in years at the Chianti Grill in Burnsville. We had lasagna and a seafood linguini. They could best be described as plates of "mush" . The other couple were guests had steaks and offered no comments. A cake desert was ordered and when trying to put a fork into it just slid off the plate. It was so hard it could not be cut. We will never return to this establishment.

Oh the whole southern metro likes Chianti Grill. Just not me. It's just ok; reminds me of what I make at home. Prices are pretty high. I just can't find a really good Italian restaurant here!

Yu-mazing! It was so, so delicious and fresh. We went for Sunday brunch and I can't wait to go again...it was awesome! They had this amazing almond, cherry canoli with chocolate fudge dripped on it...so good! Everything was delicous, can't wait to go back!

A very nice place to dine, for two or a group of friends. The open room had just the perfect amount of room noise (enough to add an bustling ambiance, not too much to interfere with conversation). The food was terrific. The wait staff were top notch. And their wine flights are a great deal.

This was my second time at Chianti Grill. My experience has been identical both times. I really like the place - but the food doesn't stay in your body. Both times I have eaten here I was running for the bathroom after I left. This time I had the Chicken Sorrento and coffee. The food was really tasty. The atmosphere was very comfortable. The service was excellent. And within 30 minutes of eating I am running for the bathroom. Repeatedly. I just don't think I can go back to this place a third time when the first two times have resulted in me not feeling well and having to stay near a bathroom for hours. I hate it when I want to write a review telling people how good a restaurant is and then can't. And in case anyone is wondering - the first time both my husband and I had the rental food reaction - where as this visit it was just me.

Went out the night after Christmas- super busy! It was a very nice experience, our waiter was very fun and knowledgeable. I knew I wanted to drink some reds, but didn't have anything specific in mind, so the wine flight was perfect.

Try it at your own risk. I guess it just does not work for me. There are just better Italian food places in the twin cities.

After several months of noticing Chianti Grill, we decided to stop by for dinner. Too bad the food is not better. I ordered the salmon with risotto. There was still bone in the fish. The risotto was undercooked and overseasoned totally over-powering the fish. The only thing going for Chianti is that there's no competition in the area.

The Chianti Grill Sangria is what it says it is: "A Fruit Explosion". They boast a giant wine menu and a sampler wine menu if you're unsure. They have a beautiful bar area with a roaring fireplace. When you do get served, the staff is very happy-go-lucky and helpful. It just takes them a while to get around to serving you. I hope to add a food review soon, since I've only drank at the Chianti.

I do like this place over some bigger chains of Italian fare. Very open dinning room was the only drawback. Food was good. Wine was good. I would go back and also recommend others.

This place is not bad at all. The atmosphere is delightful and the food it VERY good. The staff are very attentive, and though the establishment appears higher class, you can get the same excellent service even if you show up in biking attire just looking for a frosty beer. Well done, Chianti.

I had lunch here with a client, and it was really good. There are a few locations in the area, but this specific one has a very open, airy interior with high ceilings. That means it's going to get a bit noisy if they're busy. The menu is extensive with the expected pastas, traditional dishes like chicken parm and flatbreads. At lunch, they do a buffet for under $10 so that might be the way to go if you want to try a bunch of things or are short on carbs. I went with a basil sausage flatbread and really liked it. It was about 1/2 of a 12" super thin crust pizza. The crust probably could have used another minute in the oven to crisp up but the overall flavor was really good. As a bonus, it wasn't greasy in the least bit. If pizza could ever be described as "light" this one was. Our server was great also - friendly and attentive and on top of refills. Definitely a good option for lunch if you're nearby.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
