Had it one time and was good but ordered delivery, sweet and sour pork with egg drop soup, and it was tasteless and tiny pieces of pork with too much dough. They forgot our sweet and sour and got it an hour later (we live 10 min away if that). We won't go or call them again. Noodles are good hence my one star.

Chan's offers some really good lunch specials. All under 5 bucks and cooked up fresh to order. Their menu is definitely American style, but done very well. For lunch you get an entree and chicken fried rice (real chicken) and cream cheese wontons all for under $5. The ingredients always seem to be fresh and good quality. I don't know how they do it. I like the szechuan chicken. If I had a criticism, I think there is too much sauce. I wouldn't say this strip mall spot is worth a special trip, but if you are south of the river, try it.

I usually order something with seafood here, or the classic general tso's or sesame chicken. Today, I decided to take a huge chance and got the Singapore chow mei fun. The protion size is HUGE! I pretty much just ate it throughout the day. Also got a side order of garlic sauce and added a bit to the noodles because I like noodles a little more saucy. I always recommend the pot stickers, too. I prefer them fried rather than steamed. The dipping sauce is lovely (I've tried to create it myself and can't).

If you want cheap Chinese food this is a good place to go. I ordered the general tso chicken lunch special and it was good. The portion was pretty big for the price so I can't complain too much.

Very disappointed. Sesame chicken was extremely soggy and bland. Donuts had very little sugar. Cutting corners in all the wrong places.

Family of 6 looking for something on a rainy sunday night, we have been nothing but disappointed with Chinese carryout in this area since we moved here last november from SoCal. Dont let the fact that this restaurant is in a strip mall fool you. The smells that greet you as you leave your car to go in are a great indicator of what is to come. The staff were friendly and had our order in the time they told us. We ordered 3 entree's, lo mein and shrimp friend rice...total bill a smidge over $30. The takeout bag felt like it weighed 5 pounds and was double bagged, the inside brown bag stapled at the top, nice touch. Upon arrial at home, the food was packaged in fantastic to-go containers. Removal of the lids revealed fresh ingredients,; large pieces of chicken, beef and vegetables. Our children can be picky about chinese, but they loved this food and ate more than they normally would. Our only insight was the lo mein noodles were cooked with a fish sauce and it was somewhat of a strong flavor. I think we will quit looking for new Chinese takeout for the time being and order from Chans the next few times and see how the consistency is..give it a try.

Don't waste your time on this strip mall Chinese Restaurant. I went there to order some take-out food cause I was craving good Chow Mein and Egg Foo Young. I was very disappointed when I got home to find that the chow mein had only celery in it and it was not cooked to order. Celery should have been crunchy and it was limp and cooked to death. On top was laid the chicken pieces. Their chow mein noodles were like fried strips of wontons so I threw them in the garbage. The Egg Foo Young was also a great disappointment. The egg pancakes had carrot and peas in them. I was looking for bean sprouts, strips of Chinese cabbage, maybe some water chestnuts. The gravy was awful too, some funny flavor reminiscent of Chinese 5 spice. Geez! I can make better than this. The gravy should be flavored with some oyster sauce, soy sauce and some chx bouillon if you want and thickened with corn starch. Lastly I ordered a small container of House Lo Mein. FLAVORLESS. I could taste the oil but where were the spices? The vegetables were laid on top, so they were not cooked in with the noodles. My bill was just under $20 and I will never go back. I don't know where these people learned to cook, but it was not the traditional Chinese take-out food I remember from the 60's and 70's. All of these strip mall Asian Restaurants seem to have the exact same menu with the same pictures. Must be some sort of large franchise chain, but they are a cheap knock off of the real thing. Stay away from these places. If you want to some quality Chinese food, go to the Chinese Gourmet on the Burnsville Parkway. You won't be disappointed.

I was a little skeptical based on the other reviews but I ordered take-out online (love that option!) and the food was delicious. I got sweet and sour chicken (which came with an egg roll and chicken fried rice) and cream cheese wontons and the order totaled $12. I picked it up about 10 minutes later and the girl who rang me up was extremely surly and did not crack a smile or say two words but the food was delicious so I will definitely be going back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
