I heard about this place from the state fair. They had a booth promoting their ghost wing challenge. I tried out one of the wings just for the sake of trying out a ghost wing. It sure had some spicceeee! I was in the Brooklyn Park area and was craving some beer and wangs so I decided to check the place out during happy hour because the menu looked pretty good! Atmosphere- It's a golf club restaraunt and it was pretty nice!. There was still snow out but the view outside was great. Would like to see it when the snow melts and the golfers are outside playing. When first arriving there (around 5pm), there were a few customers which were more of an older crowd (40s & 50s). Later on, younger customers came and the place started to fill up! Lucky for us we already ordered! Service- Was her name Mel? I was just there, but forgot her name. She was our waitres and was super nice! Pretty prompted on everything, but had to wave her down once when it was busy because we neeeeeeded water (get to that later). She was knowledgable about their menu and was just a delight! Food- Well I knew what I was going to eat already!...WANGS!! I had an order of their dragon wings because I actually wanted to eat wings instead of just eating fire lol! But my other guest ordered the ghost wings because she loooooves and can handle spicy food! I decided to eat some dragon wings first because I actually wanted to taste them. The wings were pretty good if you like the sweeter type of sauce. Its kinda of an equivilant to asian zing from bdubs. Now onto the ghost wings.. daaaaaaan they spicy!!.. I had a few here and there, but they are seriously damn spicy!! much more spicy than bdubs blazin. I almost busted out a tear but sucked it back in to not let it drop! My guest on the other hand.....female......took it like it was nothin and swears to come back to do the challenge and get a free t-shirt lol. It was St. Patty's day so they had a special menu. Grabbed a beef brisket slider... It was nothing special, but good!! Had some onion fries and they seriously give u a LOT. I think it was 2 onions worth! Also on their happy hour menu was Korean tacos. This was something I haven't tried before so I gave it a go. They were soft shells. I believe the meat was chicken bulgogi with some nappa cabbage made to taste like kimchi. The taco shells were soft in the middle but stiffer towards the outer shell. Overall I liked these, but am wondering how it would taste with real kimchi... somthin I'll have to try at home of course. Overall- -ghost wangs -dragon wings -2 sliders -onion fries -1 wine -3 summits only $35 or so!! man that's a preeeety good deal. Great ghost wings if u can handle them. Great view of the golf course with sun shining in, (felt like I was in happy gilmore) and friendly staff. I'm definately comming back for some wings and very cheap happy hour beer. They also have a full menu, which I might try someday, but from my initial experience there I'll definately be back for some more wangs and beer!

Girvan gets 3 stars instead of 2 based on their hot wings. They are 2nd only to Runyon's. The atmosphere is pleasant. It's family friendly so I wouldn't suggest it for a romantic date night. They have a great Sunday brunch that's worth waiting about 15-20 minutes for, however they lose points with me for their pretentious and absurd spin on Eggs Benedict. Don't mess with Eggs Benedict. It's perfect the way it is. Trying to soup it up with modern nonsense is a mistake. Also, the eggs weren't poached properly which reveals the level of skill in the kitchen. I'd recommend Girvan for wings, brunch, or a casual dinner.

Amazing! I wasn't expecting much but it was the best prime rib and cream of chicken with wild five soup of my life! As a Chicagoan I can be a snob about my meat. It was cooked perfectly and was huge! The plate was beautiful! Service was stellar as well. Can't wait to go back!

Good food good service. Not as expensive as people might think being connected to a golf course. Menu has nice variety, food fresh, prices avg for the times $10 & up. I remember liking the pulled pork & also a burger I had there. Nice to have the view of the golf course.

We went here for my grandma's birthday. When we arrived our waiter took our drink order. 10 minutes later he still hadn't come back. I saw our drinks sitting at the bar. He came back and said is there anything else I can get you...... Seriously, well you can get our drinks we ordered over 10 minutes ago. I order the Thia shrimp. The description nor the title exclaimed that the dish was SPICY and I mean burn your mouth crazy spicy. I can't believe he didn't warn me at least. I took maybe 5 bites and I had to chug 5 goblets of water. I asked if I could order something else as the dish was inedible. I ordered the Sirlion salad with the steak med-rare more close to rare- My dish finally came once everyone else at the table was done eating. The steak was completely grey. Over well done but I didn't say anything as by this point I wasn't even hungry anymore because of all the water. We asked if they offered dessert for a birthday and that our cousin at the tables birthday was in a few days and if it was possible to get a dessert for her too. We got 2 giant pieces of cake. We get the bill and we were charged $9 for each cake! what the heck he didn't say anything about that not offering free dessert for a birthday! Honestly, the waiter was an idiot and the service was horrible. We will never visit this place again what a waste of money.

Very good food. Elegant atmosphere. Service was slow and food came out in delayed stages so that I was almost finished when others in our group of 7 received their food. The restaurant was almost empty at the time. It may have been an unusual experience because our server seemed new. I recommend the seven layer cake for dessert.

I don't recommend the Easter Brunch. The food was cold and the servers were overwhelmed. For almost $27 a head I would like to say it was overpriced, but that would imply that the food had some monetary value.

Been here a few times for happy hour and Sunday brunch. Today, went for brunch. Much worse experience than the past for a couple of reasons: 1) service. Our server was way too busy, so we had to wait for an ordered item as a brunch add-on. We had to ask for water twice and the promised Carmel rolls never arrived 2) The food on the buffet was fine. The ham was very good as well as the other items. 3) The Eggs Benedict (at an extra charge) were not good. I should have complained - and would have except for the business of the server. The ham was very salty, the poached egg was overdone, and the hollandaise was separated. I suspect the dish sat under a heat lamp for an extended period while the server was busy doing other things. All in all, it never should have been served in the condition it was. Dissapointing.

The only reason I come out here is for the Ghost Wings. Otherwise this place is nothing special. Me, my husband and my brothers have all dominated the wing challenge and display our shirts proudly. The wings here not not to be under estimated. If you think Blazin are to hot to handle, then don't torture your self with the ghost wings. So, what to say about the rest of the menu? Not a lot to say actually. The food is not bad, just nothing to write home about. The service on the other hand is a little disappointing, especially since this restaurant is based out of a high class golf club, but the service is far from high class. The last time I was here I was annoyed that I had to pay my server big party gratuity. He did not deserve half of what he got. He messed up three times. First, I asked for milk for my son, he brought chocolate milk. I never said chocolate! Second, my son wanted apple sauce, when his food came out they gave him french fries. Third, my sister in law ordered Macadamia Crusted Chicken, he brought her Chicken Marsala. So, then my sister had to wait 10 minutes for he new food, but he never bothered to comp her meal. I had to complain to the manager ( who is very nice) to make my sister happier with her bill. I hate when places screw up, but don't offer any thing to make it better. It should be done without us asking!

5/5 for exceptional service and food. Although expensive, its worth the price. The atmosphere is also really pleasant. BTW the Ghost wings are not actually something you can passively eat with a meal, they should be on some sort of food channel show for their spiciness.

Stopped here for date night last night. A starter, 2 specialty entrees and a dessert for $25 which they have every thursday night. Cant beat that! The pork chop was delicious. It was smoky and tender. The chicken Marsala was just ok. The chocolate cake was awesome! Will go here again for date night

I live in the area, they are located on a great golf course, but deserve their own attention. The food is very good with very nice wait staff. Tuesday night is burger night and reason enough to go.

Good food and specials. Lover there burgers and sweet potato fries. Don't forget the bead pudding. I'm usually not a bead pudding fan but this place I generally don't leave with out having it.

It's a nice restaurant situated in a golf course. We went there for dinner last night. It was already kind of crowded at 6:30 pm even though there wasnt any golfers since the golf course was still covered with snow. The restaurant is not super huge probably almost 30 tables, and it has big panel windows overlooking the golf course. It's probably pretty nice during summer. I ordered steakhouse salad, and my bf ordered the edinburger. The salad was huge. The steak in the salad was well prepared. .. with just a little hint of pink inside and a dark charred outside, and was very tender. My only complaint was that it was topped with too much fried onion strings. The salad already had the blue cheese, which provided salty flavor, and the onion strings kind of made the whole salad a tiny bit too salty. My bf's burger came with tots. He loved tots so he was super happy. However, he told me that the burger was just ok .. nothing to write home about. The service was also kind of slow last night, but we could see that the place was under staff. The whole place was almost full, but we could see only 1 hostess, 2 servers, and 1 busboy. Our server was very apologetic at the end, and we understood and didnt want to give her any hard times. Over all, it was a nice restaurant .. not too expensive, and the food was also decent. We will probably be back to try something else on the menu.

"The hottest wings in the Midwest!" If you're looking for the hottest of the hot wings, you found it! My (pregnant) sister and I have came to bare the challenge and won, but this is no ordinary hot sauce.. It will have you crying, begging to go to the hospital, and burning IN and OUT! If you dare bare the ghost wings..BE PREPARED, a little of pepto, greasy peanuts before the challenge will help you. I found this place on one of Minnesota food challenges sites: eatfeats.com/calendar/Mi… Girvan Grille is a fancy restaurant you can impress someone with the atmosphere, but the food is a up scale Champs or Applebee's, so nothing special. I hope you get a chance to try the delicious wings, if you can finish it, you get a free T-shirt and a picture on there site as a winner. Good Luck!! girvangrille.com/ghostWi…

A regular destination if we are both in the mood for pot roast! FABULOUS! Their burgers are good, too.

We've been going to Girvan Grille for Easter and Mother's Day brunch for years. It was alwasy a solid place for a brunch buffet with lots of options and the best stuffed French toast. Unfortunately, the Easter brunch this year fell flat. This brunch is on the spendy side at $25.95 per person. For that amount of money, I expect a lot of food and definitely a made-to-order omelet station. They have always had the omelet station in the past, until this year. The brunch price stayed the same, but they decided to remove a lot of food options and the made-to-order omelets! Let's just say we were all very dissapointed. If you are going to remove a key item of the brunch buffet, you better at least reduce the price. In my opinion, this brunch is no longer worth the hefty price tag. Our meal cost $75 with tip for 2 people! That's a lot of money for brunch.

Have come to Girvan several times for Sunday brunch, and it's always been ok. We usually hit a bucket of balls at the driving range and then settle in for nice meal. You have to go out into the hallway for your food, but the walk isn't too far. Just seemed weird at first. The brunch fare is pretty typical, and it's only $10. Beverages, including coffee are extra. Considering the brunch experience, we went to Girvan for their Friday night fish fry this week. It was a breaded talapia, served with fries. Although the staff was pretty good at offering seconds, the quality was so poor that it was difficult to do so. The breading and fish were absolutely flavorless. I had to douse it with ketchup just to add some taste. We'll likely return for brunch and may even try something else on the menu for dinner, but based on our recent experience, we won't be having the Friday Night Fish Fry.

Sunday Brunch was not to our liking, 6 of us and only 1 liked it and she only ate the waffles. Beef Borscht soup no beef, biscuits and gravy= hardly any sausage and small white lumps in gravy-yup you guessed it =flour lumps. Eggs Benedict awful, the yolk of the egg so over cooked it rolled to side of plate, it was over 2 strings of pork on potatoes chunks with a drizzle of hollandaise. We did complain and they took it off the bill. Thought I would end on high note and went back for fresh fruit, unfortunately the plates were not cold, not warm but hot. Five of us gave it 2 or less stars and 1 gave it 4 stars. The bloody Mary was $4.50, the juice was $2.50 and the eggs benedict was $2.00 on top of the brunch bill. Would not go back.

Although Girvan Grille has pretty good service, I was very disappointed in their Easter Brunch selection! Our family has gone here for years and were loyal brunchgoers for Easter and Mother's Day, however, this year they decided to skimp on the selection and completely cut out the omelette station. But they kept the hefty price tag! We will be going somewhere else for brunch on Mother's Day.

Beautiful Ambience, Lovely views of the golf course and good food. I took a couple of friends for lunch and we enjoyed the place as well as the food. The place seems to have a decent happy hour and every day specials for dinner. Will go back to try the specials as well as the brunch.
