Looking for local and found it. Just a block off the faded downtown in the same building (but separate) as the elks club is this. A fairly modern, spacious, clean bar with pool tables , TVs, pinball and dart machines scattered about. Lots of seating around the bar and at a dozen or so tables of various heights. The bar features a surprisingly good selection of tap beers! All listed by alc and ibu. Very friendly and helpful bar tender who seemed to be managing a small Wednesday crowd well by himself. Oh, the food you ask? Very good. I recommend the onion rings. They specialize in burgers it seems, and the burgers are very good. One note is that the burgers are ala carte another is that they were cooked about a step more than requested (med rare was med etc) A good place to stop for burgers and beer!

We walked in at about 4:00pm on a Wednesday afternoon and it was a ghost town! I think a tumbleweed blew past my leg. I was immediately displeased. Luckily my boyfriend insisted we stay and eat some food. This was our first visit to Brainerd ad new were a little scared we had ventured into the wrong place. This place is a dive. This is a dive bars dive bar. But guess what?!?! The food was really good!! I had a chicken, mushroom, Swiss burger. My boyfriend had a regular mushroom, Swiss burger and they both turned out great! I was really surprised. I was just so expecting to be disappointed. I can honestly say that I don't think I would want to spend my Friday or Saturday night hanging out here (it just felt depressing), but if traveling through again I would entertain the idea of stopping for another burger. Ps. The bartender was super friendly. Pss. The jalapeño fritters are HOT and delicious. Cash only establishment!

Don't judge a book by its cover. The burgers here are very good. The beef is never frozen and it shows. Great beer selection. Gyro meat was super flavorful. Was hesitant to visit the first time, but are now return customers. Our go to place for good bar food when we are in Brainerd area. Service is super friendly!

Super cheap food but cash only. Big servings, and the food itself was decent tasting. Definitely felt a little weird not being a local when I grabbed food there with a few friends on the way back to the Twin Cities, but the service was great and helped us feel more welcome.

Ordered an American burger medium well. It was bloody and very rare. Waitress asked if we wanted them to make a new one in a tone making it clear they didn't want to make this right. My husband wouldn't even eat it it was so raw! We won't be back. Too bad too because brainerd doesn't have that many restaurants. We had to pay up front too because of a fund raising event.

All these great reviews are true! Burgers are very good, staff is friendly and the price reasonable. The place may look a little uninviting on the outside, but it's a good time on the inside!

Great hambergers, fries, and onion rings in a simple bar setting. We were very happy with the service and the restrooms were clean. We would return.

Almost the only place open on Sunday night downtown, we were pleasantly surprised. Very casual atmosphere, but welcoming. But excellent food, with no hassle when we asked for sandwiches with no bread- the waiter offered lettuce leaves. Not strictly paleo but close!

Very good place to eat had a gyro which had some bomb cucumber sauce, the place was busy but got a free beer for having to wait ten minutes which is no big deal but a very nice gesture by the waitress

Got a huge chef salad for a reasonable price and the habanero ranch dressing tasted homemade. Great place to stop for lunch in downtown Brainerd.

For a small town bar and restaurant, this place was fantastic. Food is super tasty. Large selection of beers. Bartender was real friendly. What more could you want?

Been here a few times now and have not been disappointed ! Known for the burgers but I had a chicken wrap and onion rings ... Very good food ... Reasonable prices ... Friendly servers :)

My family ate there on this past weekend...we were looking for a great burger. Wow-it was delicious. If you're in the Brainerd, Minnesota area and hungry for a burger, check out Yesterday's Gone. And, don't be fooled by the lack of curb appeal when you pull up. P.s. The service was great too!! -- LJLE

My favorite bar in town. Good prices on drinks, pool tables, and usually a bit quieter than other bars downtown as it's on the edge of downtown. Friendly bartenders.
