This is a 4 star restaurant serving 1 star beef brisket. My wife tells me I should have ordered the chicken which was delicious, but I have trouble walking away from BBQ beef brisket. In this case I should have walked - - - it was as tender as new shoe leather! The rest of the meal was great - - - highly recommend the baked beans and cole slaw. The service was excellent as well.

We stopped in on our way through town for a Saturday lunch. They had quick service at a great price point. The bacon Bloody Mary was delish. The bar area was a little tired looking but it was what you would expect at your typical sports bar. I would come back.

Great place. Atmosphere was nice with awesome service. Their wings were a little soggy though with them just slapping some sauce on the wings. Waitresses worked quick to accommodate our large party of 20. Their prices were reasonable. Definitely recommend this place. I'll be back for sure.

Fabulous place staff is super knowledgeable and their smoked "anything" is awesome Definitely a place to stop in Brainerd and the staff is cute as well :)

We've seen Grizzly's and driven by it a number of times, never stopping in for a bite to eat. But we finally made it there and have to say that we were pleasantly surprised. The flavors and quality of meats were really good. I had the brisket sandwich and my wife had the chicken dinner...both were very tasty! The meat on both choices were full of good flavor/spices and extra tender. There are plenty of side dishes to chose from -- none of which you can go wrong with. I do have to say that we'll be back to try some of the other good looking meals on the menu. There were plenty to pick from and it was hard to make a decision. The solution to that . . . just gotta go back again!

I thought it was really good. My mom and I split a meal and it turned out being the perfect size for doing that. We got the chicken/steak meal. It was all very delicious! Plus, the whole building smelled so good! I'll definitely go back.

The staff was pretty friendly & attentive. But the cheesecake is a must have!!! Make sure you save some space for it.

I was reluctant to try as I had some bad experiences in the Twin Cities. So glad I did. The service was excellent and the food was just as good. Cheese curds were great and you get plenty to share. Had the roasted chicken fajitas and they were delicious. The building itself will definitely give you that up north feel. We will definitely return.

I have been here multiple times and never had a bad experience. Highlight is the food for sure! Tried multiple things and really liked all of it!

I must have not understood the menu. I got the Pulled Pork Philly. It did not look grilled. Tasted like it was boiled in water, and had enough fat/grease to cause me to question if my life insurance was up to date. I politely asked for my bill, so I could pay and leave. Somehow this ended up with the manager coming to speak to me. I was not looking for anything else, or a discount I just wanted to leave. The manager said she would not charge me for the sandwich. Which was overly kind and unexpected, as I did order it. But in the end, I don't think I will be going back. Food was not good. And I felt a bit trapped when I only wanted to pay my bill and go someplace else to grab something for lunch.

we ate there 2 nights ago. waitress forgot to serve our salad. the meat was tough, shrimp was undercooked. never refilled the ice tea. horrible experience.

The food here has really gone down hill over the years. They used to have great salads that they customized and tossed at your table. They were huge, fresh and tasty. Those days are gone. The place is in need of a make over, things seem dirty, greasy and worn out. The food is unimaginative, drowning in heavy sauces and white bread. There are no fresh vegetables on the menu at all. Everything is processed, over-cooked, bland, soggy and boring. The wait staff is nice enough but nothing special.

This restaurant is great! The service is always fast and helpful. There are quite a few tap beers to choose from, and the bread with that apple butter is amazing! I very much enjoy their burgers, real swiss cheese and large thick burger patties.

I thought for sure this was going to be Perkins with a liquor license but we were starving and it was late. Glad we tried it. Their rotisserie chicken was excellent. Next time I visit the area I am going to get one to go for our room.

Wood fired food that is decent. Ate here twice once with chicken and once with steak and both were fine. I always sit at the bar because your wait person but because I don't drink I think they either ignored me or service is just mediocre. Food was way better than the service.

Great up-north dinner atmosphere, service and food. Make sure to roast marshmallows for dessert with the kids.

Visted with two other couples for a birthday dinner and was pleased to find prompt seating on a Friday night. Server greeted us promplty and took and brought beverage orders without delay. Entrees ordered ran the gamut including burger, brisket, chicken, ribs, steak, salmon and chicken stack sandwich. Burger rated very good. Brisket was called tender (compared to previous experience of tough and dry). Salmon was called excellent along with the peppered sirloin. Chicken stacker included moist tasty chicken. Chicken and Rib combo I'll give an 9 to the roast chicken (dark) and a 5 to the ribs (little dry and in need of a side of sauce, not bad but nothing special). Good sides and salads, decent price on a bottle of wine and very good service. Given a rating of 4 as I'm comparing it to many reataurants in the Lakes area, but would rate them only three in a larger metropolitan area.

If you've read any of my other reviews, you will see that I am a big fan of real BBQ, and have been to most of the best BBQ places in all of the "capitals" of BBQ - Kansas City, Memphis, Carolina (not Texas yet, but soon :-) ). One thing that even the great, real wood pit BBQ places seem to always have trouble doing is chicken. It's often dry, the skin is rubbery, or not cooked all the way through. A real crap shoot. That said, the 1/2 chicken I had at Grizzly's was PERFECT! Who would have thought that some of the best wood fired chicken to be found would be in Baxter Minnesota. Nicely flavored rub / marinade, moist, just cant complain about the chicken. Try it, you won't regret it. The cheesy hash browns that accompanied it however, not so much. Try a different side, and maybe you can give it five stars. I just couldn't. Service was efficient, but just a little longer between visits than I would like. Nothing terrible, just enough to make you wonder a bit... especially given that only three other tables were occupied, and my waitress had only me (alone again, naturally) and one other table.

Decent food. After a long work day, I stopped by around 7 PM (Wed). I was promptly greeted and immediately seated. I was alone. Server came to my table pretty quickly. I ordered a salad, which was very good, the artichoke dip, okay, and a silroin. The sirloin was supposed to be medium rare, but was medium, definately not medium rare. There was little to no fat. Overall, I was pleased with the food, and very happy with the service. The steak was nothing to write home about, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The chicken is great here. The wild rice soup is very good as well. The service is ho hum at best. They brought my food out at the same time as my appetizer soup, which is a HUGE NO NO in my opinion. They also forgot some of my details to my order. The place itself is large inside and there is plenty of seating in both the bar and the dining area. The restrooms were clean. I didn't like the old fashioned pull down towel system in the restrooms. Parking is a little cramped. Overall, a good place for lunch or dinner. I would go back but I will look for another place next time I am in town.

This rating is based on expectations. I had not been here for a few years. Their new menu is an improvement over what I was used to. My choice this time around was the spicy rotisserie chicken sandwich. It was a tasty choice. My only complaint is the bread was a touch soft on the bottom. It wasn't soggy but a little soft for being toasted. Also, it definitely wasn't spicy but that's not to mean it is labeled improperly (has jalapenos on it). Not too bad for a chain restaurant.

Blackened wings were great! Service not so much, dirty dishes sat in front of me until I left. Bartender to busy chatting with the regulars, there were 3 causal / business diners we all waited for drinks and food service.

It was our family's first time eating here. The service was great, food was plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced. Great options on main and kids menu. Great atmosphere and quick seating. MUST try the chicken!

It's a Grizzly's, veritably impossible to screw up a chain like that. And they don't. Food is good, decor and lighting are good, standard somewhat drab alcohol selection. If you are looking for a Grizzly's in the Brainerd area, this one will not disappoint.

Poor service had cheeseburger ,,,,way overdone

Visited Grizzly's on a business with co-worker. She had broiled walleye and I had the pan-fried walleye. They were both awesome! Also the bread served was fresh, soft, and great. I highly recommend for walleye! Atmosphere was outstanding.

Wood-Roasted Chicken Cannot Be Beat! Great restaurant! You can start to smell the wood-roasted chicken from the parking lot and it instantly makes your mouth water! Then you walk in the door and right away you can actually see the chicken on the spits over the wood fire! Anything with the chicken on it is great but there are so many other tasty items too. A great place for a full meal with the family or to grab a quick drink and appetizer! Sign-up for the email club too and you will get some great coupons to use.

Visited Baxter on a business trip and was looking for a decent place for dinner - Grizzly's hit the spot! Traditional, good ole bar food, but cooked well and at a reasonable price. The brisket with Big Bear ale hit the spot well!

I cant tell you how much I loved the food here. I went for the soup and sandwich deal. It was the best that I have ever had. Plus our server Tiffany was vary helpful when I ask what places I need to check out around town. Seeing how I was not from the area. With friendly staff and great food, this place will definitely make in on my top ten list.
