Diabetics at TGI Friday
If you're a diabetic, then you must be extra careful while dining at TGI Friday. Try the salad menu at TGI Friday to keep your sugar and sodium intake in check. Soups are great to keep you full and satisfied without munching on the unhealthy greased meat-based dishes on TGI Friday menu.
Foods to Avoid at TGI Friday for Diabetics:
Sugar and sodium intake are crucial if you have diabetes. While the salads are the best option for you at TGI Friday, it is recommended to avoid the Pecan-Crusted Chicken Salad containing over 1000 calories and 1,650mg sodium. Also, skip Warm Pretzels with Craft Beer-Cheese dipping sauce as it contains more than 3000mg sodium. It is wise to skip the dessert for diabetics, especially the Brownie Obsession topped with Vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and pecans.

About TGI Friday
TGI Friday is a casual dining American restaurant chain founded in 1965. The term “TGI” is an acronym for Thank God It's and together the name of the restaurant is often announced as Thank God It's Friday. Over the years of its existence, the TV commercials and other advertisement streams have also twisted the phrase a bit and used it as Thank Goodness It's Friday. The restaurant serves alcoholic beverages primarily. However, they are also known for their low-carbohydrate and low-fat menu items to promote a healthy lifestyle. TGI Friday also offers gluten-free items on its menu for those with gluten intolerance.
Besides the cool name, TGI Friday also has an interesting background story of its origin. The founder of the restaurant Alan Stillman lived in a New York-based neighbourhood full of a young crowd, especially girls from the airline and fashion industry. He started the first TGI Friday restaurant in New York in the hope of meeting single women as there weren't any such public place for young men and women to meet. He invested $5000 on his own and borrowed another $5000 from his mother to buy a bar named The Good Tavern and renamed the premise to Thank God It's Friday, inspired from an expression during his time at Bucknell University.

Heard about Jack Tuesdays and I love me a steak so we had to try it! $5 Jack drinks, $5 Jack apps, and $10 Jack entrees. We had the petite sirloin and the half rack of rib entrees. They both came with 2 sides but you really do get what you pay for. I left feeling less than full. The entrees and sides were good, flavorful. I knocked off 2 stars because my steak came out under done. The odd thing wax when there server brought it out. It's like she expected me to tell her it was under done. She apologized, took just the steak back and left me with my sides... By the time the steak came out it was delivered by the manager. Again, as if they expected a ruckus. I thanked him and proceeded to eat my now cold sides. We don't eat out at franchise places often so maybe this is to be expected? Either way, the food itself was good. You get what you pay for!

Ordered a salad for quick lunch. It took as long to get that as it would to cook something and get it.

Worst tgi ive ever been to. Every single staff member was extremely rude. Bartender "lost"my card and then acted like it wasn't his problem. I cancelled it as soon as I left because he probably stole it.

We had a great experience here tonight. Our waitress, Rachel, was great! The restaurant was busy and she was so efficient and capable. Loved the new menu and the food was just as delicious as it looked. Definitely will be going back!
(5)James C.
10 min wait at the door and the kitchen is understaffed and they still rocked and got the food out quickly, nice teamwork by all employees, food always awesome, tanner the server #1 all in all wish I could give more than 5 stars
(5)CJ T.
Decent food, cold beers, funny waiter (who helped me save money)! Sometimes the food doesn't have to be 5 star to have a great experience. Saturday night, we got right in when every other place around had a 2 hour wait! Very handy having this attached to our hotel :). Beers + no driving = relaxation! I highly recommend this place.

The bartender Rocked, I believe his name was Travis. He provided professional service and was super cool to talk to - certainly great for all the business folks coming through at this particular TGIF location near Mall of America and all the business hotels...The food was great and yes I know it's a chain restaurant, the restaurant was clean, and all the employees were spot on this night...The bar is a great spot to watch a sporting event - the bar had both out of town folks and local folks, which always gives for great conversation.

So if I were to go to any Friday's on the planet it would be this one seriously if you are willing to hit up a corporate chain stop here Matt is a fabulous bartender and he has been there forever you food and drinks really will be perfect everyone else at the joint is pretty much your average server bartender but not mattt the drinks were yummy and the food was perfect thanks Matt

I usually love TGIs so naturally I was excited to go but was very unimpressed with the whole restaurant. 1. they wanted to sit us right next to the waiter station which was packed with dirty dishes and servers running back and forth. 2. My burger was basically burnt and when I told the server my food was bad she just apologized but I wasn't offered any replacement. 3. I moved on from all of that but after they took our plates away we noticed a MAGGOT crawling on our table!!! I pointed it out to the server who basically laughed and wiped it up. Then the manager apologized and gave me a free dessert (yeah like I want more food from that disgusting place) Needless to say I will not ever go back.
(1)Mandy H.
Food here was decent. Not too bad, not too good. The service was okay. It would be nice for the servers to know what kind of specials they are having. Our server recommended the wrong drinks, so we got charged for something that we thought was on the special/happy hour. It wasn't a big deal, but it would have been nice to know after we've asked. Appetizers were decent. Food was decent.
(3)Joshua A.
The hostesses were extremely rude. The food was mediocre at best. Half of it was incorrect. The server was attentive and cheerful at least. Will not return.
(1)Steve G.
Lousy service, and $8 for a Summit??? That's absolutely ridiculous, regardless of how close it is to the airport! If I ever return, I will not get anything other than water! I've paid less for long islands at other places and never more than $5 for summit anywhere.
(1)Bill F.
It's a Friday's. I came on a Saturday night and it was comfortably full, yet I was greeted twice on entry and as I walked up to the bar. Nice cold beer in my hand from friendly bartender. Couldn't ask for more!

I first went to a TGI Friday's restaurant around 30 years (?) ago, and had potato skins, which were a new appetizer trend back then. Went to this one yesterday, and ordered appetizers for a light meal. Really BAD. Not just, 'Okay'. BAD. How do you ruin something as simple as potato skins, sour cream, and bacon, with that many years of experience? The potato skins were deep fried, or something; like someone thought they were making pork rinds? The bacon was barely recognizable, and tasted less like bacon than the textured vegetable protein substitute. There was something yellow, that must have been standing in for melted cheese. Just tasted greasy and BAD. I also had some deep fried mozzarella sticks, which had no taste, except for the residual taste of whatever they had fried in the same oil just before. Looked like Mrs. Paul's fish sticks, which might have been a better choice. Third app was bone-in chicken wings, in some type of barbecue sauce, which were fair - not a ringing endorsement when they are 'the least bad of the 3'. Dipping sauces tasted like salad dressing from a Wishbone bottle. Guess that is why they can offer 'all you can eat apps'? Maybe people eat a lot of these AFTER drinking several beers? Really disappointing for an established restaurant. Somebody forgot that food should come first, and focused on 'flair'.

Service is really slow waited and waited for another drink after our dinner but waitress never came around we had to track someone down to get the bill which was about 100,00 for the 2 of us. Will not be going back there again. The waitresses name was Rachel. We were not the only one waiting for our bill. The worst service i have has so far. The really bad thing is no apology from anyone. While i was waiting up front for the bill 3 different employees asked if i have been helped yet so i told them about the waitress and the service but not even a sorry.
(1)T S.
4 star on the food 2 on the service. Was never offered a refill on my drink and maybe the waitress thought I wasn't going to be a big tipper because of being by my self and not drinking alcohol. However even tho her service wasn't great I still left her a 25% tip. Hopefully to tech her that l, that one person can tip as much as the 3 at the table beside of me. You never know who works in the service industry and understands what it's like to work for tips.
(3)Art T.
Slow service. Finally waiter brings the drink and guess what wrong drink. Got food after a while but pretty impressed with the burger.
(3)Sam S.
Pretty horrible. Burger was pretty much a piece of charcoal. Bad enough for me to want to download yelp and actually post a review

I visited Friday's for a friend's birthday lunch this weekend, and had an absolutely lovely experience! I had always lumped Friday's in with the corporate bar-and-grill chains you find in every city, which can be really unpleasant (Applebee's... retch!), so I was a little apprehensive before we entered. By the time we received our beverages, I was completely at-ease: our waitress was wonderfully friendly and attentive, and the menu looked lovely and had lots of unique options that I completely did not expect (WAY beyond burgers, chicken breast, blah, blah). We received well-poured drinks from the bar, and everyone enjoyed the food they ordered immensely. They even brought my friend a complimentary caramel and fudge sundae for her birthday (and didn't sing an embarrassing birthday song)!
(4)Logan A.
Worst food ever took them 5 steaks just to get us 2 correctly cook steaks the way we ordered them. This is pretty ridiclous. Wouldnt recommend this location to anyone
(1)Cari M.
We went in for dinner because the restaurant was attached to the hotel. Server couldn't remember who order what at our table of two. Also brought me boneless wings instead of classic and messed up who ordered what salads. He said it was a kitchen error. We heard him say the same thing to two other tables. My husband ordered a steak and said the sauce was good. I ordered an appetizer as my meal, mozzarella sticks (which had more air then cheese), loaded potatoes, and bone in buffalo wings that came out boneless, crusty and burnt tasting. At the end of the night we ended up with someone else's alcohol on our ticket and had to flag down another server to fix it because ours had gone missing.
(1)Matthew R.
Bad food and even worse service. Avoid this place.
(1)Joshua W.
Just had some beers. Atmosphere was friendly and the waitress was prompt and courteous.
(4)Daniel T.
The management at this place is awful. I asked for a simple request and was denied. Must have thought I was not important enough to go slightly out of his way to accommodate. The food is on the below average side as well.
(1)Cletis H.
I like this place and meet friends here frequently. Usually meet in the bar and either sit at the bar rail or the high top tables. Service is great and the food is consistent with Friday's national menu. They have also updated their loyalty program "Stripes".
(4)Lester A.
I would usually rate a fridays 3 stars cuz the food is decent and is consistently ok, but this place was just so convenient being attached to my hotel and the servers there were extremely friendly and remembered you if you came in a couple times a week. Was just so easy to grab a quick bite without walking out into the cold. Never had a complaint about the food or the drinks, always had drink specials each day of the week, like 3 dollar long islands or 2 dollar beers. No complaints when my work would put me up in that hotel. An IHOP and a TGIF connected, then of course Mall of America right across the street.
