Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

This was my first time at a Panchero's and it was delicious! The homemade tortillas are awesome. And the 2 tacos I got were a perfect amount of food. (A certain competitor Ch... has way too much food per order which is frustrating.) I had the pork which was really tasty and the toppings were really good. The lettuce looked a little brown though. The price was fantastic. I think it was $16-$17 for 4 tacos, 1 side of chips and salsa, and one pop. I should have signed up for the Panchero's club because I will most likely be back!

I'm going to admit I am a bit biased because I have grown up on Panchero's being from Iowa City where the original Panchero's was created. I was very happy to learn that they began to franchise the business since I only get back to Iowa City a few times a year to visit family. I like Chipotle just fine, however, I would pick Panchero's any day of the week. We were just at the Bloomington location today and it made me remember how much I love this place. Why? 1. The tortillas are better. Fresh pressed, heated on the grill, delicious. 2. Queso. Queso and chips. Yes, the chips can be a bit salty but the fact that they have queso - good queso, to boot - is just a step ahead of any competitor. 3. Fresh veggies outside of just peppers and onions. When I want a vegetarian burrito, I like being able to have a a bigger variety of fresh veggies especially the red peppers. 4. Quesadillas that aren't just on the kids menu. Sometimes I just want a simple quesadilla and Panchero's delivers that. There is not a Panchero's close to where I live in the north metro (can someone change that, please?!), but my husband and I will travel to the south metro to grab this for lunch when we are really feeling a hankering.

I'm with Wendy B. on the queso: nom! The rest, meh. Desperately in need of cilantro. And onions. If I had known there was no cilantro - at all - it would have been a deal breaker. Was expecting something at least on par with Baja Fresh. But, alas, no salsa bar, no cilantro, no me.

Let's get this out of the way. Chipotle is way better. Anyway, I got the steak bowl. Steak tastes like spaghetti o's Chefboy R D meat and it's super dry and flavorless. The guacamole tastes pre-packaged and disgusting, the queso is however super delicious, and the lettuce does not taste fresh. Panchero's is better than QDoba but Chipotle is way better than both. Would I come here again? Only if there was no Chipotle around.

Let's just say I no longer go to chipotel! This is my new spot once a week that isn't good on my hips but soo good.

The only reason I'm giving them one star is because I'd marry the queso if it were a legal option. And it may be soon since the gays can marry in Minnesota now*. The tacos looked like my dog ate part of it and what little food was left in the damp shell may have tasted on par with that same dog's food. The big bag of blue corn chips and cup of queso made up for the craptastic chicken tacos, but not enough for me to recommend Panchero's as a regular lunch spot unless you're ordering six things of queso. If that's the case, please invite me along. *Easy. I'm a gay that just got married.

I have to say that even though I have only dined here once, it has moved to my favorite "big burrito" joint outside of TX (Freebirds). They press their fresh tortilla's right in front of you, they offer queso for the burrito, and the corn salsa was delish......will be back!!!
