After flying into Minneapolis from Austin, my wife and I were cruising around outside the mall looking for someplace that had some decent vegetarian options on the menu. She remembered Chevy's from a eating at one previously, so we stopped in. We were both pleased with our meals. I had a fajita burrito and my wife had mushroom and asparagus fajitas. What bumped a good 3-star place up to 4-stars... 1) Free wi-fi 2) Delicious salsa. Wasn't spicy but it tasted awesome. 3) Apparently our meals took longer than they should have, although we didn't notice. Without asking, the manager came over and offered us free dessert or a discount off our bill.

Don't order the nachos if you are alone and you don't need a main course either. The nachos come out on plate piled high with all kinds of cheese, guac, jalapenos, etc. Really the nachos appetizer plate is a meal for two. And, quite tasty.

You could go here if you were hungry. Would it be the first place I would go? No. I like the salsa - it's a different chipotle than others I have tried. Other than the salsa the burrito and taco I ordered reminded me of a frozen dinner that you can buy and reheat. If I wanted that I would go to the grocery store and pay $2 instead of $10. Very bland food. Service was a little slow but they were training someone new in so I can understand that. Also tried the watermelon lemonade. Yup it tasted just like watermelon but for $3.50 wasn't worth it.

One of my favorite dives. The flautas (and especially the sauce on them) are one of my favorite things ever. Pretty good happy hour specials, and you really can't complain about the free chips and salsa (also great). Let's face it, Chevy's isn't going to win any awards for decor or originality, but HH or a Marg after a mall/IKEA trip? Mayhaps I will! Get the 3 item combo with a chicken chimichanga, cheese enchilada, and flautas with rice and beans if you're really hungry!

Great service! We were quickly seted for an early dinner on a Friday. The waitress we had was very helpful and patient with us. The steak quesadillas were GREAT - as far as the steak goes. The food does tend to be quite bland, but if you just throw on some of the hot sauce that's on the table, you're good!

We had a great waitress "Annie", she knew her menu, was outgoing and very pleasant. The chips and salsa were good, I had one of there salads that was very delicious ... but I should have ordered a half salad as it was just too much.

So I land a job at the airport and one of its perks was that I get to FLY FOR FREE as an employee, so the first place I go is MINNESOTA to check out the MALL of AMERICA. I arrive and I am quite hungry (and thirsty) so the first restaurant I arrive at is CHEVYS. Staff was friendly, food took a little long to be served but when it WAS SERVED I was in HEAVEN. I ordered CHICKEN QUESADILLAS and they were MASSIVE. I also ordered a STRAWBERRY MARGARITA and that thing was HUGE. I was so buzzed when I got done but back to the food. It was delicious and did return for a 2nd and a 3rd time and when I return to MINNESOTA I will be heading for CHEVYS again. Though they say they are a MEXICAN restaurant, the food tastes more like AMERICANIZED MEXICAN CUZINE, thought NOT COMPLAINING because the food was DELICIOUS. Give it a try if you are in town.

4 stars with the guys, 2 stars with the gf, (she says). One start deduction for being in MN and a little pricy for a tex mex meal. Okay, not the best Tex Mex I've ever had, but it's right across the street from the Mall of America and after being trapped in the mall for 6 hours with my gf, I needed to get some air. Very hookie, dimmly light so you can't see the dirt and food all over the floor, reminds me of the time I was lost in Texas and grabbed a taco to eat at a roadhouse dive. I love it! Freshly fried tortilla chips, sassy waitresses, cold beer, and huge portions. My fajita half steak/half chicken was a little over cooked, but perfectly spiced. This is a guys night out!

Excellent place for fun and drinks! Cinco de Mayo was a blast there and eating there is always great. Go to their website for a coupon for a free appetizer. The salsa has great flavor and the chips are light and airy. They make the best margaritas! Try the watermelon!

The food here is tremendous. Try the mixed grill fajitas. Very tasty. The chip n salsa are equally good. This is the place for great Tex Mex.

Cheveys has great food, but over priced. Servers are pretty good. It is not very clean. Usually busy. There is outdoor seating but not the best location for that because of the train and all of the airplanes. Love the cheese dip and flautas, awesome! Chips and salsa are good too.

There is a Chevys that I go to in Orlando. Thinking that the food would be the same, we came her for HH and some appetizers. Salsa was disgusting. We asked for no beans - they gave is EXTRA beans. Margaritas are pre-mixed like a 7-11 slurpee machine. Seriously the whole experience for us was awful. Never again Sorry guys. Just being honest.

I was pleasantly surprised of how good the food is here. The table salsa tastes better than it looks and the entrees were great. The chicken chimichanga was good but the crispy chicken flautas were great. Friendly staff as well.

Eaten here 3 different times while visiting from Southern California and I hope to be lucky enough to go once again on my next visit late December. Yummy yummy, the streak fajita is awesome, more then you would ever see on your plate in Cali, the fresh homemade tortilla's are off the chart's, rare, very rare to get homemade fresh HOT tortilla's, I was in my glory, I would go there for those alone, fresh and hot. Customer service was pretty good all 3 times I went, no complaints there. Awesome Mexican food!. Drinks are pretty good too.

My husband and I were out shopping and decided we better eat before we ventured into IKEA. There is little in the shopping world that is worse than IKEA on an empty stomach. Anyway, we ended up at Chevy's. Loved the ambiance of this place. Energetic and bright, clean and friendly. We decided IKEA would be better sober so we opted for no drinks. I kept seeing our fellow diners with their colorful boozy drinks and was jealous, but kept drinking my water like a good girl. Damn good thing I did too....this is some salty food! We started with chips and salsa...and dumped a bunch of hot sauce into it since it was so bland. I had to force myself to stop eating chips so I would have room to eat my chicken tacos. When food arrived I was so surprised to see how thick the flour tortillas were for my tacos. Way too bready...I peeled half of it off. My plate was covered in chunks of torn tortilla at the end of my meal. The tacos themselves were palatable. Mexican food has such good flavor-all that salt is just unnecessary. I drank two large glasses of water with my meal and would have had more had our waitress returned to fill our glasses. Erick had a smothered burrito that he appeared to enjoy a lot. While he said he liked my refried beans more than the pintos he ordered, his plate was clean in the end. In sum, it was fine. I realize (and you may too based on my reviews) that I'm a seriously picky eater. If I'm out eating a meal, I expect it to be better than what I can make at home. I could do better chicken tacos than this. I make a pretty damn good margarita too.

We visit Chevys in Orlando when we visit Mickey. When we saw the Chevys here we stopped for dinner. Pleasant atmosphere and fresh food. Robert, our server, was pleasant, acurate, checked back often, & kept our drinks filled. He knew the menu too. Huge plate, so we shared. Loved the casa.

When the dinner conversation encapsulated is that Taco Bell is better and more appealing, you know there is a problem. The food is covered in unnecessary sauces to cover for its lack of appeal and quality flavor. Very disappointing meal.

It is close to the mall and we were in a hurry, but there are better places to go. The food is fine, but for Mexican this is on the pricier side without being anything special. The chips are good. The salsa isn't bad either, but has a peppery taste that makes it a bit different than most. It will do, but there are better. Sometimes it is just about getting lunch - Chevy's is good for that.

Walked in just after midnight on a Friday. Yelp says they're open until 2:00 am. Not so. Apparently they close early if they don't feel like staying open later. The bar was about half full but they turned us away. Shame on you Chevy's!

I managed to escape the behemoth MOA and hoofed it for a good thirty minutes (I got lost inside MOA - it's a 2 minute walk if you know where you are going!) hoping to find respite in a shitty chain restaurant that was purported to have outdoor seating. Fully aware my plight might end sans redemption I knew I had to attempt the journey for being confined to the terror that is the MOA on a day with temperatures peaking around 70 I would probably intentionally swerve into oncoming traffic on the return home. I arrived to my oasis with said patio, happy hour drinks, and the Muzak station set to classic rock with a playlist containing thus far ccr Bowie and shitty but far preferable to Katy pary Lou reed. And now Cream, Jack Bruce the rock hating but playing it anyway world renowned stick beater. Ever heard of Fela Kuti? Wouldn't say his best work was with Bruce but they make a good combo nonetheless. Just like my server, Andrew and the patio sun. One could rarely feel such peace, as I did, reading my book and listening to decent tunes with the midsummer sun on my back, with cheap drinks and an attentive server to boot. I'm damned sure there are better places in this town. But walking distance from the belly of the beast, respites like this I assure you are few and far between.

First time here. The food was very good and reasonably priced. We had a wait for our food order as our server told us that someone hadn't turned up for their shift. This left only 2 servers for the room. Our server was friendly and attentive, in spite of having other patrons to attend. The fresh chips and salsa were good. I liked the tortilla soup and chicken quesadilla.

The most worthless Mexican restaurant on the planet. Worst service of any restaurant in the area. They take, on average, ten minutes to greet you once you're seated. You have to ask three times for chips and salsa, or drink refills. They consistently get orders wrong. The food is ridiculously sub-par and incredibly overpriced. They use a lot of imitation Velveeta in their food. Their evening staff regularly appear drunk. I work across the street, will never set foot in this place again. I refuse to go out with co-workers if they plan on margaritas at this rat trap. Please drive two miles down the road to El Loro Grill. Infinitely better in every way.

Had a great lunch with a friend. We shared the chicken fajitas...full size...for two ladies...it was great for sharing. I absolutely loved the homemade tortillas, made fresh minutes before your plate arrives. Amazing!!! Even took the extras home to eat later. The little tiny bit of sweet corn they give you delicious!! Wish it was more than a garnish :) Salsa wasn't my favorite...but pretty good. Everyone likes a different style tho. The corn tortilla chips are super thin and wonderful and slightly addicting. Hope you have a good experience like me.

We've been going here every time we've been to Mall of America. Though it's located on the outer edge within sight of the mall, I always prefer Chevy's to mall food courts any day. They make the most awesome fresh tortillas and their fajita platter is enough to feed 2 people and still have some food left over. For the kids, the quesadillas are richer looking than what a grilled cheese looks like at some places. The festive atmosphere and Mexican divey decor makes it an excellent dining experience overall. And I can't say it enough - the little scoop of sweet corn meal is the ultimate item on the menu. I can probably chow down a quart sized container of the stuff if you turned me loose in their kitchen.

Beer is good, but I am not much of a fan of the food. We were seated in the bar area, which is decorated with a bunch of beer memorabilia. They start you off with a basket of chips and salsa. The chips are delicious, however, the salsa is nasty! I ordered the taco dinner, so I had 2 soft and 1 ground beef. The soft shells ended up getting super soggy and ended up falling apart. On top of that, there was hardly any meet on the tacos. I'd recommend hitting up one of the more authentic choices in the area.

First clue that it's going to be good: The tortillas and chips are made on site. The chips are so fresh that a light fry and an indistinguishable amount of salt is all that's needed. Second clue that it's going to be good: Cholula hot sauce on every table The masa garnish is wonderfully sweet. The vegetable side isn't overlooked. The veg = perfectly treated. I'll be back. Tip: the add on for sour cream and guacamole is outrageous. Ask if your meal comes with it and if you can have a little extra.

Food might be tasty but don't think you'll eat anytime soon, get something you ask for when you ask for it, or .... ok ok....I just won't be making this my spot of choice. Perhaps it was just a fluke in the service. I doubt I go back to find out though.

The last time I ate at a Chevy's was more than a decade ago when I lived in Denver. The food is still good, service was quick to get it to the table. Which was an improvement from when we first walked in. The host wanted to sit us at the bar, but we wanted a table. He seemed annoyed by that. The only thing he didn't do was walk by the table and throw the menus down. Service improved with the waiter. Manager kept cruising by to see if we were okay. If I didn't have an issue five minutes ago I won't have one now. Oddly, when we were leaving she didn't even notice us as we walked by her. Ah, the food was still good and not overly priced.

Food was disappointing. Service was friendly, but a little slow. I had a chimichanga, which is my typical test item for a Mexican restaurant I've never been to. I mean, it's a deep fried burrito, so it's like trying a slice of cheese pizza or a burger. Hardly any meat, tortilla was tough, not crispy at all like something fried should be. Then they smothered it in fake nacho cheese sauce. Not that there's a "real" nacho cheese sauce, but you know...that Velveta cheese, or Elmer's glue stuff you get with chips at the gas station. I ended up just eating the filling out of the burrito, which was very sparse and consisted of ground taco meat and a few pinto beans. The side dishes were black beans and rice, which were just ok. Chips and salsa were good. All in all, it just isn't good Mexican food. More like a TV dinner.

Stopped at Chevys after a holiday shopping trip to at the mall. We ended up sitting in the bar and were able to watch college football. Food was good; however I thought it was a bit over priced for sitting in the bar at a slightly cramped hi-top. I had nachos and hubs ordered the fish tacos. Our server forgot to enter his order, so I ended up sharing my food while we waited for his tacos. By the time his arrived, we were both pretty much full. The server apologized for the mistake; however there was no discount or compensation for his meal arriving 15 minutes after my food was delivered to the table. Not a bad place, but there are lots of other options out there.

My wife and I stopped in the other night after some shopping in the area. She had never eaten at Chevys and thought it looked fun. I haven't set foot in a Chevys in ages, so I was up for it. The service was good, and our waitress recommended the shrimp and crab quesadillas. We took her suggestion and ordered just that with a few beverages. The Cadillac margarita was very tasty, and Chevys stocked all of the "south of the border" beers one would expect to find. Our food arrived, and just as our server had promised, the quesadilla platter was enormous. As I was chatting with my sweetheart while she ate her quesadillas, I noticed that she didn't seem thrilled with the quality. She began to peel apart the layers, and found completely different ingredients than what were listed on the menu. We're not "picky", and rarely take issue with our meals - but the delivery must match the menu. Our server politely took the dish away and checked with the kitchen only to discover that the cooks on staff preferred to make the quesadillas as they were served to us. I was a bit surprised by such a response from the kitchen since I could never agree with such a practice in a restaurant of any level. Though my wife and I don't have any food allergies, caution should always be taken and a plated dish should always reflect what is listed on the menu. We ordered a different shrimp dish after verifying the ingredients with our server, but were unfortunately let down by that dish as well. If we were ever to find ourselves in Chevys again, it certainly would not be for a meal. The food and preparation quality is (in my experience) severely lacking, but the saving grace here is the wonderland of mixed drinks and beers. Overall, I would have expected better quality and consistency from a chain like Chevys. Drinks, yes. . . Dining, no thank you!

Awful service. Wanted more chips & salsa, as every table around us was getting, but was as if we were invisible. Could have gotten past that, but my 9-year old's fajitas came w/no tortillas. The waitress was nowhere to be found, went inside (sat on the patio to eat - couldn't be more flies, BTW) to see if someone could or would help & was completely ignored, even when I asked the other server from the patio. 15 minutes later, after his meal was cold, we finally got them. they acted as if nothing was wrong & we didn't even receive an apology, nor was it even addressed that they missed that or that there was any issue. Your staff is either oblivious or awful. Either way we won't be back.

Went here this past Thursday with a friend of mine and had a good time. The drinks were good, but food had an issue and the service was slightly slow. Our server was very friendly and energetic, but had a lot of tables and was spread thin. The bar could have used a 2nd server. My friend ordered a single shrimp enchilada with the sauce on the side as it was listed as spicy; she doesn't do spicy very well. I ordered the vegetarian burrito without cheese, no meat on the place, and told the server I was vegan. As our food arrived, my friend's enchilada has sauce on it and she immediately sent it back to be remade. No cheese on my plate, bonus! However, the beans on the plate I took a bite of had MEAT in them! I had to empty my mouth out into a napkin and gag as I have never eaten meat in my life. Ever. Got the server's attention and he immediately took the food back. Several misses here.... Server knew I didn't eat meat, yet allowed the beans with meat in them to make it on my plate, secondly, the menu lists vegetarian beans, yet delivers meat beans on the plate. The server did agree to give me a free drink for the error on the food, which made this a 3 stars and not a two. The server was quite nice to get us directions to places we were going and was just fun to have as a server. The mishaps on the food ordering just can't allow me to give more stars.

While the food here is not exceptional for a Tex-Mex styled restaurant, it was still good. I do have one qualm though. When I order avocado on my salad, I would actually like to have some avocado on it... not just two pitiful little hunks that have already started to brown. That sad looking avocado took my salad from being slightly better than the average, to saddeningly below. Other than that, the drinks are a little pricey but delicious, and the servers that work here are fantastic! For the life of me you wonderful girl waitress, I cannot remember your name, but you were AWESOME!

I hate places that claim to be Mexican when they really are Texican. Mexican restaurants offer their tacos on CORN tortillas not flour. I like flour tortillas fine, but not for my tacos. I got fish tacos, and they were ok. I had a terrible stomachache after eating here. They didn't have horchata or agua de jamaica. They didn't even have tres leches cake. And you claim to be Mexican?? Please!

This food reminds of the delicious Tex-Mex restaurants in Houston. The fajitas are really delicious and the tortillas appear to be made from scratch. Homemade tortillas make all of the difference. They place a scoop of this warm luscious cornmeal and sweet corn side with each dinner and it is so delicious. The margaritas are fantastics (salted). Skip the mall across the street and just come to Chevy's!

I went here with a need for nachos. I should have ordered them. I have in the past and they are great (the actual nachos with a pile of chips and stuff piled on top). Instead, I opted for the sampler platter appetizer (fajita nachos, wings, quesadilla and flautas). Oddly, the only thing on the plate that stood out to me was not mexican food... It was the sauce for the flautas - which was asian tasting - sweet and delicious! Otherwise, the plate really did not impress me... Things were pretty bland - they were fine, but nothing too special. Beyond the food though - service was good and there is a patio at this place... a definite plus. Chips and salsa are also provided which are both pretty good. One thing to "know before you go.." check the happy hour times. We went on week day and happened to hit right between the late night and regular happy hours - there is a span of about an hour and a half where this drops off. The prices are a bit steep ($`0.50 for a basic -albeit very large- margarita), but at happy hour prices, I would bet they are more reasonable.

Just got back from Chevys and I have to say I'm very impressed. Ordered the fajitas and man oh man, the steak and pork are just out of this world great. Also ordered the guacamole and it was very tasty. Made right at the table. A great place. Sure it's a chain, but this is one of the finest chains around. The price wasn't too bad, the service was great...even on a very busy night, and the prices were very reasonable. Great restaurant.

I went here for a happy hour with a couple girlfriends tonight. The menu looked delicious and there was a lot to choose from. The chips and salsa that gets brought to your table is soooo good. The salsa is a little smokey and so good. I ordered off the choose 2 menu and got a chicken taco and an enchilada. They were so yummy. The portion sizes were huge, everything was a high quality, i was totally completely filled up and satisfied. I would recommend this place to anyone that likes "Tex-Mex" food. The drinks that the girls ordered were really tall though so they kinda had to almost stand to get their mouths to the straws. They could have shorter, wider alcoholic drinks. They were skinny and tall but looked yummy.

This was close to the hotel that we were staying at on NHL Draft weekend and we really, really did not want to go inside MoA. So when our choices appeared to be TGI Friday's, IHOP and Chevy's...well...there aren't Chevy's in Tennessee, so that's where we went. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was that I felt like I had been there before. About 10 years ago, there was a chain of restaurants called Rio Bravo Cantina that had several locations throughout Tennessee...and the menu appeared to be the exact same, right down to the fried ice cream. Then the server brought the salsa. Yup, same salsa. Good salsa, but it was like stepping into a bizarro time machine. Then I googled "Rio Bravo"...turns out that it IS the same restaurant...Chevy's bought Rio Bravo in 1999. Changed the concept to "fresh mex" and eventually shut down all of the Rio Bravo locations. Anywho, it was as good as I remember it being ...I ordered the chicken fajitas, they came out mesquite grilled with tortillas that - if they weren't made in house - at least had the appearance of being fresh out of the oven. They lose a slight star for cilantro making a magic appearance in the vegetables for my chicken fajita. Seriously, I hate cilantro...stay away vile intruder.

I really love this place. This is by far my favorite Mexican/TexMex place in the cities. There are lots of more "authentic" places in the cities, but they usually require a trip to 20th and Chicago and a good stomach pumping after said trip. So, what exactly do I like about this place? To begin, I absolutely love their chips. They are the best because they're made from scratch as I was told by our waitress. They are so light as a feather (I wish I knew how they did that; every other tortilla chip I've ever had is much more dense and thick.), and the salsa is the tasty. It's not spicy, but it has a flavor unlike any other salsa I've ever tried. When I go there, I only ordered the fajitas; so, I can't speak to the other items, but I can tell that the fajitas rock. I love both the steak fajitas and the carnitas fajitas are my favorite. Also, the freshly made tortillas were well executed. They actually have a machine-interestingly enough called "el machino"-that mass produces scratch-made fresh tortillas. It's definitely unlike anything you've ever seen in a TexMex restaurant before, and it's fun to watch the show.

I admit. I do have a weakness for Mexican food. I always "forget" that afterwards, I nearly want to vomit and I pay for an upset stomach/food coma for the rest of the night. But it's always worth it. I was sad to see the Chevy's in downtown Mpls close, but not surprised. So every so often, we make the trek to Bloomington to eat at the only location left in Minnesota (!!!). Of course, who can go wrong with unlimited chips and salsa? The margaritas are decent but not strong. Maybe a bit too sweet, if you ask me. More tequila, por favor! I've always gotten the Pick Two combo for $10.99. The flautas and chimichangas are delicious. A recent complaint of my dining companion has been that they are now putting dark meat in the food which has turned him off from Chevys. But I dunno. I think I'd still go back. Expect to pay around $25 for a couple without drinks. Food comes out fast, service is good.

Okay, I'm a little embarrassed to review a chain restaurant, but Chevy's was the first place I ever tried fish tacos and that remains one of my favorite dishes. Last weekend my husband, daughter and I came to this location for dinner following an afternoon at Nickelodeon Universe and had a really great customer service experience: We sat at our table for about 10 minutes, but a server never showed up. So, I went to the hostess and mentioned (nicely) that we had been waiting for a while but just as I said it, I looked back and -- lo and behold -- a server was at our table. I said, "Oh, nevermind, there she is!" and returned to the table. We ordered some drinks, then a second server showed up (so there seemed to be some confusion about who was supposed to be serving us). I was thinking we were in for a complete disaster experience, but a few minutes later the manager showed up, apologized for our wait and the ensuing confusion and said that our dinner would be free. Following that, we had one server who was very attentive and nice. I thought it was incredibly cool of them to do that; we only ended up having to pay for the one cocktail my husband ordered (but, don't worry, we tipped our great server on what the full bill would have been). Unfortunately, our fish tacos tasted a little too fishy but since that was my first sub-par fish taco experience with Chevy's and they were so nice, I'm willing to let it slide. They won me over with their customer service. And their tableside guacamole.

Came down for a weekend and have eaten at Chevy's countless times and other than some highly spicy selections have really enjoyed it. Last night was the exception. Granted ,it was a but after 10pm, but I ordered the veggie burrito and my husband had a chicken burrito. His was fine, mine was lousy. My message to the cook is: just because it's not meat you can't chuck it into a veggie burrito. It has some rice and beans- good; some broccoli and onions- good, but broccoli isn't my first choice with burritos. But the whole raw garlic cloves and whole baby carrots were not appropriate. Yuk, and I love carrots and garlic. Our beans and rice were cold and our waitress brought us 2 glasses of pop right away instead of refilling when it got low- lazy. We will try some other places I think. It was also $13 for that lousy burrito.

The salsa at this place is like a drug you get immediately addicted to. I have bought gallons upon gallons of it and never tire of it. Having lived in CA this is what you may get there - roasted chipotle peppers tasting so smoky and fresh with cilantro makes the salsa. It's served cold and is thin. Not too spicey. Service not so great but the salsa and the chips and the homemade tortillas and the drinks are worth it.

The food was okay. We got the ultimate fajita platter - there was nothing wrong with it but certainly nothing exceptional - 20 dollars for it which is a little ridiculous for what you get. I also got a margarita there because they were on happy hour. It tasted just like a virgin strawberry daquri. Don't get me wrong, I love virgin strawberry daquri's, but usually when I order them. For somewhere that has Mexican food as there specialty, I hoped there would be more to it. Upon asking how much alcohol there was in it she said 1 shot of tequila..... Seven dollars for one shot of tequila and strawberry daquri mix? Yeah, no. I can buy a whole bottle of tequila for that. Altogether my bill was 30$ for a fajita platter and a half price margarita. I'll go to el Loro next time I want Mexican food and get 4x as much food and alcohol.

I had not eatin at Chevys in years. While in town on business for 21 days I had just about ran out of places to eat and Minnesota is not known for its Mexican food. I found this place tucked behind Mall of America and decided I needed tequila. Had the green chile burro and it was excellent. Marg wasnt all that great but im a marg snob so thats no suprise. I would def go back for some more food and try the fresh guac.

Had the Dos Equis Shrimp Tacos, they where actually pretty good. First time I have been to one of these, had heard bad things about them but decided to give it a shot. Sat outside on the patio on a beautiful day but definitely not good because you have to listed to the light rail horn and planes flying overhead every few minutes. Quite annoying. Was really turned off by the poor service.

Wow has this place gone down hill...we used to love it, so stopped in for dinner tonight. I've had better food and service at taco bell. Zero seasoning, watered down drinks, poor service, overpriced. Stay away.

YUCK! I am so sick of Minnesota and their godforsaken chain restaurants.. I want real Mexican food, not some nasty tasting low-grade "beef" fajitas with extra oil sprayed on them so they come out sizzling. WTF! Eh, people actually like this place? I don't get it. That food is disgusting!

We stopped for dinner on our way home from a shopping trip. I love fresh, well prepared mexican and had high hopes. I ordered the Shrimp and Blue Crab enchiladas, sadly the first bite yeiled nothing but cubed potato and corn. I split both enchiladas open and they were stuffed primariliy with potatoes, corn and peppers. I found 2 small shrimp in one enchilada and 1 in the other, as to crab it was basically non existant. Wanted to ad that despite the resturaing nearly empty we were seated at a booth facing a not terribly clean area that was some sort of serving station, can't imagine why they didn't place us at a more appealing booth.

Yikes. I can't believe I'm actually admitting to the fact that I absolutely love Chevy's. ;) There are a couple of things that make this place standout in my mind: 1. Amazing chips and salsa. I just can't get enough of their chips and salsa. I always order an extra salsa right off the bat as it is phenomenal. I could go to Chevy's and just eat chips and salsa 2. I always order the same thing: the 3-item combo. I get two enchiladas (one chicken, one cheese) and Fiery Hot Flautas*. The dish comes with rice and beans (I get black) as sides. * Chevy's Fiery Hot Flautas are nominated for one of my absolute favorite sides/appetizers around. They're drizzled with a mango-habanero sauce and have a jalapeno jelly dipping sauce to compliment. I've made the mistake of ordering flautas at other restaurants, and they've never (ever) even come close. Conclusion: The food is always super tasty for TexMex. However, you need to keep that in mind, it's _still_ TexMex. They do have a full bar which helps (I've had a couple margaritas here, but never been super impressed). The only shortcoming I have is that the rice is dry, but if you mix with the beans or cheese sauce, it's much better.

Wanted something other than the food offered at the "Mall of America". Stopped in at Chevy's, was pleasantly surprised. Waiter told us it was Happy Hour 1/2 priice Margarittas... Woo hoo! Got a large and when I say it was big, it was fish bowl sized. Then came the great chips and salsa. Was almost too full to eat my main course which was equally as good. Highly recommend.

Took my kid there one afternoon for lunch. Service was a little slow for how busy they were but the food was pretty decent. Kid friendly. Its a chain place so expect "chain" food and atmosphere. I would maybe go back but I would prefer to try something a little more authentic and not so tex-mex.

Please!

Had the Dos Equis Shrimp Tacos, they where actually pretty good. First time I have been to one of these, had heard bad things about them but decided to give it a shot. Was really turned off by the poor service.

Took my kid there one afternoon for lunch. Service was a little slow for how busy they were but the food was pretty decent. Kid friendly. Its a chain place so expect "chain" food and atmosphere. I would maybe go back but I would prefer to try something a little more authentic and not so tex-mex.

Don't order the nachos if you are alone and you don't need a main course either. The nachos come out on plate piled high with all kinds of cheese, guac, jalapenos, etc. Really the nachos appetizer plate is a meal for two. And, quite tasty.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(3)Lex A.

Last time when I went with my friends and had a bad experience the servers look like there were drinking alcohol they look on dirty it wasn't that professional.... I had a bad experience... it was in August 29th of 2015..

(4)Greg M.
When the dinner conversation encapsulated is that Taco Bell is better and more appealing, you know there is a problem. The food is covered in unnecessary sauces to cover for its lack of appeal and quality flavor. Very disappointing meal.
(2)Darcy B.
(3)Jennifer F.
Walked in just after midnight on a Friday. Yelp says they're open until 2:00 am. Not so. Apparently they close early if they don't feel like staying open later. The bar was about half full but they turned us away. Shame on you Chevy's!

Food quality was good. Service was excellent. I especially liked the house made salsa .I ordered the tortilla soup and it was fresh and savory . Good family restaurant.

(4)Deborah N.
(4)Greg D.
(1)Rachel S.
(4)Mike O.
(4)Jason G.
(2)Gerry S.
(4)Angela B.
Food might be tasty but don't think you'll eat anytime soon, get something you ask for when you ask for it, or .... ok ok....I just won't be making this my spot of choice. Perhaps it was just a fluke in the service. I doubt I go back to find out though.
(2)Walter C.
(4)Caitlin W.
Food is absolutely disgusting and it smells like dirt as soon as you walk in the place.

It has some great chips and salsa. Perfect for snacking and drinking with friends or a date. The food is very good as well and comes with decent customer service. The price is very good as well. Overall, I would recommend this place for any occasions.
(4)Jason K.
(1)Jeff L.
Food was very good and margaritas were excellent. Service was friendly although not very efficient. We would return again.
(3)Jennifer H.
Right off the bat, the wait staff was AMAZING. That said...who puts velveeta on a chimi? Just gross.
(2)Amy C.
Large portions. Could share most platters. Had the beige burrito and added chicken. Great flavor, hot and quick. Place looks a little dated, but over good atmosphere and good service.
(3)Joy M.
Terrible service ... Our drinks stayed empty from the get go. Server had no clue about the menu items. Ordered our food and server never filled our chips or salsa up. When we finally got our food beans super hot and rice cold. Never again will we eat here.
(1)Katie C.
I love this place. I could eat their chips and salsa all day long. Their house made flour tortillas are to die for and have never had a reason to complain eating there. Love their chicken tacos!
(5)Karin M.

Great food! I got the lunch steak fajitas, perfect portion perfect price and tasted great!! The margarita was pretty good too. Service was great I got my food really quickly. Awesome place.

(3)Cristina G.
Please!
(2)Brad E.

Despite nice coupon values this isn't worth the effort unless you are a room-bound traveler. Heavy and bland food isn't worth the money.
(1)Brad B.

(5)Micah B.
carnitas bowl was most excellent! Service was okie dokie...

I sure miss your downtown location for convenience living on this side of town. Excellent food and service.

(1)J D.
(5)Kyle L.
(1)Richie C.
I do hate to review chain restaurants but I very much love the chips an salsa!!! That is all
(2)Jim L.
The Flautas are great. The chips, salsa and margaritas are good too.
(5)Ashley A.
Can't beat the margaritas here. The seafood quesadilla is awesome and the chips and salsa are so good and homemade it can't get any better!
(4)Evan H.
(3)Jason S.
(3)Brian K.
Wow has this place gone down hill...we used to love it, so stopped in for dinner tonight. I've had better food and service at taco bell. Zero seasoning, watered down drinks, poor service, overpriced. Stay away.
(1)Emily S.
(1)Kelly F.
(1)Mark D.
(5)Ray C.
(4)Ryan B.
Took my kid there one afternoon for lunch. Service was a little slow for how busy they were but the food was pretty decent. Kid friendly. Its a chain place so expect "chain" food and atmosphere. I would maybe go back but I would prefer to try something a little more authentic and not so tex-mex.
(3)Mike B.
The food here is tremendous. Try the mixed grill fajitas. Very tasty. The chip n salsa are equally good. This is the place for great Tex Mex.
(5)Angie O.
Cheveys has great food, but over priced. Servers are pretty good. It is not very clean. Usually busy. There is outdoor seating but not the best location for that because of the train and all of the airplanes. Love the cheese dip and flautas, awesome! Chips and salsa are good too.

(3)Karina B.
Last time when I went with my friends and had a bad experience the servers look like there were drinking alcohol they look on dirty it wasn't that professional.... I had a bad experience... it was in August 29th of 2015..

(4)Greg M.
When the dinner conversation encapsulated is that Taco Bell is better and more appealing, you know there is a problem. The food is covered in unnecessary sauces to cover for its lack of appeal and quality flavor. Very disappointing meal.
(2)Darcy B.
(3)Jennifer F.
Walked in just after midnight on a Friday. Yelp says they're open until 2:00 am. Not so. Apparently they close early if they don't feel like staying open later. The bar was about half full but they turned us away. Shame on you Chevy's!
(1)Lex A.
(1)Stephen R.
I was pleasantly surprised of how good the food is here. The table salsa tastes better than it looks and the entrees were great. The chicken chimichanga was good but the crispy chicken flautas were great. Friendly staff as well.
(5)Sugar C.
(5)Bill H.
Food quality was good. Service was excellent. I especially liked the house made salsa .I ordered the tortilla soup and it was fresh and savory . Good family restaurant.
(4)Jordon B.
(4)Deborah N.
(4)Greg D.
(1)Rachel S.
(4)Mike O.
(4)Jason G.
(2)Gerry S.
(4)Caitlin W.
Food is absolutely disgusting and it smells like dirt as soon as you walk in the place.
(1)Banha S.
It has some great chips and salsa. Perfect for snacking and drinking with friends or a date. The food is very good as well and comes with decent customer service. The price is very good as well. Overall, I would recommend this place for any occasions.
(4)Jason K.

Can't beat the margaritas here. The seafood quesadilla is awesome and the chips and salsa are so good and homemade it can't get any better!

Pretty good food and drink prices weren't bad.

Great food! I got the lunch steak fajitas, perfect portion perfect price and tasted great!! The margarita was pretty good too. Service was great I got my food really quickly. Awesome place.

Please!

They were skinny and tall but looked yummy.

carnitas bowl was most excellent! Service was okie dokie...

I sure miss your downtown location for convenience living on this side of town. Excellent food and service.

Despite nice coupon values this isn't worth the effort unless you are a room-bound traveler. Heavy and bland food isn't worth the money.

Stay away.
(1)Emily S.
(1)Kelly F.

(3)Ryan B.
Took my kid there one afternoon for lunch. Service was a little slow for how busy they were but the food was pretty decent. Kid friendly. Its a chain place so expect "chain" food and atmosphere. I would maybe go back but I would prefer to try something a little more authentic and not so tex-mex.
(3)Patrick C.

(4)Tommy M.
Don't order the nachos if you are alone and you don't need a main course either. The nachos come out on plate piled high with all kinds of cheese, guac, jalapenos, etc. Really the nachos appetizer plate is a meal for two. And, quite tasty.
(3)Ian S.
(4)Karilee K.
best margaritas and best chimichungas on the planet!! my favorite tex mex restraunt on the planet!! recommend it totally! xo

(3)Gene W.

(4)Lynn M.
Excellent place for fun and drinks! Cinco de Mayo was a blast there and eating there is always great. Go to their website for a coupon for a free appetizer. The salsa has great flavor and the chips are light and airy. They make the best margaritas! Try the watermelon!
(4)Nikki B.
