Went this morning for breakfast! I won't go back! Gross! I ordered the biscuits and hash! The hash was the most disgusting thing ever! It was made up if shoestring French fries cut up with regular deli corned beef! It was so dry! Plus the biscuits came out covered in gravy, no where in the menu did it say it would be served with gravy! But the gravy was good, it was the only thing that was! But no amount of gravy would have recovered the way too dry biscuits! Don't spend your money here! Go somewhere else!

The Quinoa was excellent. The fish tacos were just OK, not enough fish. The Bruschetta was great. The strawberry walnut salad was very good. The decor was very nice too.

Writing a review in the first week of a restaurant's business requires a different perspective: you have to think about potential and what it offers relative to local options more than how the experience actually subjectively was. And so, dinner last night. We ordered a few dishes. I'll give it three stars based on what I'd expect a restaurant to be in its first week, with the intention of giving a real review after a couple months. Some pros and cons, offered with the hope that the owners/management read them and see them as opportunities for improvement. Pro: 1. Tasty food. This is most important, right? 2. Friendly, speedy, competent service. (The latter two are surprisingly hard to find around here.) 3. Unusual beers from out west! Very exciting. Con: 1. Atmosphere is very sterile, and the bright, direct lighting that casts strange shadows on faces is a real bummer. 2. Overpriced. $12.50 for a shrimp po' boy? Ok, fine, but give me more than four shrimp on a five-inch roll. Twice as big and half that price in Louisiana. 3. Sandwiches come with seasoned Ore Ida waffle fries. I can buy those in the supermarket. Make them fresh. It's very easy. 4. Lack of menu diversity. Nothing on this menu sets it apart from any other resto in town. Broaden your options, stick your neck out, and give us a real reason to show up. Generally speaking, I was really excited for this place to open as I got the impression that it would be more upscale. Maybe it will become so, but right now, it's just another casual dining place in Bemidji. The good beer and wine selection sets them apart a bit, but a more original menu would really help. Regardless, I hope they succeed and look forward to seeing where they are in a couple months.

Fair food. Good service. Slightly pricey. They need to figure out what they are concept wise. Sports bar? Gastro pub? Fine dining? Foodie hangout? Excited to visit after watching the restaurant go up on top of the old Maid Rite. Advance press indicating a focus on locally grown produce and unique cuisine was promising. Exactly what Bemidji needs. Unfortunately, our first visit did not match our hopes. The servers were very attentive and friendly. The menu seemed to be more Perkins/cafe like than anything special. We all ordered wraps. Soups were good with cream, chicken, and bacon. Waffle fries were hot but needed some type of sauce. Wraps were just ok. Beyond burgers and sandwiches, entrees seemed pricey for what they were (pasta heavy.) Happy hour was weak with only a special on a short Surly. Why don't they even have Bemidji Brewery on tap??? Hate having TVs visible in the dining room. Bar seemed kind of cheesy and awkwardly placed. Need to lose the rope lighting! We will give it another try but hope they up their game and decide to truly be something unique. Bemidji needs that.

We are new to Bemidji and we have been trying out many different restaurants, and this has been one of our favorite's so far. I got the queso burger and it was literally one of the best burgers I have ever had! All of the food there is hand made and cooked perfectly. In addition to the good food was a great selection of tap beers, great for any microbrewery fans.

Great home made food. Salads are fresh! Also a nice selection of tap beers and wine.

The food was kind of awful. Broccoli and cheese soup was powdery consistency, mushroom pasta was soaked in sauce and way too much truffle, but our server Wendy was very sweet and cordial. Maybe fun for just drinking but food is sub par.

the 1st time we ate here, it was fantastic...and then the next few times, not so much. the servers are very nice and prompt, however the quality of the food seems to be going down over time. also the building itself doesn't have a great flow to it (it's just oddly angled and decorated) it's not very relaxing to dine there.

Good food and good service. I ordered the Sirloin Provencal (w/scallops) and the Creamed Brussel Sprouts. They were both very tasty. I'm not sure they are still on the menu. I went shortly after they opened and the menu online doesn't have either of these things anymore. It's a great place for a nice dinner out.

Let me start by saying I was excited to try a new place in Bemidji. When you first walk the the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired - as does the service. We weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves or if we should wait to be seated. We were eventually told to seat ourselves after awkwardly standing in the entryway for about 5 minutes. After finding a table we were greeted immediately which was great, however the waitress had no idea about the beer on tap or the cocktails. This was followed by a complete lack of knowledge about the menu. My burger came out cold and over cooked. The food was adequate and the mojito was dreadfully sugary. TLDR: I doubt I will return, the food left a lot to be desired.

We have been to Novo 3 times now and we have enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. I know some people mention price and we have always used coupons so we can't complain about that. We have had the pasta, a few burgers, and appetizers. Everything that we have had has been very good. The pasta which I usually don't order from restaurants was better than most. Burgers while I feel are overpriced are good. David has the burger with basil and it suffered from basil overkill. The apps have been very good and they have a great Sunday buy one get one all day. The beer is GREAT we have tried a few my favorite is the pear beer. With Redds being all the rage these days this pear beer was a must try it's delicious and not to sweet. The beer pushed them to 4 in my opinion and cucumber waters (love the cuke it's simple and a nice touch) however food I would go 3 without coupons. Also I have to add every time we have gone the place has been empty so our service is good. Don't know if they were busy it would affect wait times and prompt refills.

This restaurant is a disappointment given all of the hype that has surrounded it opening. I visited the restaurant for lunch today slightly later than the normal lunch time so the restaurant was not that busy. It took them over 45 min to make my order which was nothing special just Fettuccine Alfredo without meat. When our food arrived i was greeted with chicken on my plate! I don't like to eat meat with pasta but i tried a piece of the chicken and it was extremely dry, i think that it was from a microwave cause it didn't taste like it was "homemade". The small amount of pasta that was on my plate was a disappointment considering the price and it was VERY salty. The bread that came with the meal was toasted but not warm so i didn't eat much of that cause it tasted kinda bad. I don't not grasp that other people think that this place is really good cause its mediocre at the very best and it is not what it is advertised to be as a healthy and made from scratch restaurant. There are problems here that go beyond the food as well and first being that the building is weird that it is in and where it is located. First off is the location. It is located in a part of town that is not that nice and it is shoved into a spot between a busy road and dumpy apartments that great your eyes as you look out the windows that go along the wall of the building. Then there is the atmosphere, its not that welcoming when you come in the door there is a hostess stand that is shoved in a corner next to the door and you aren't shure if you should seat yourself or if someone is going to do that for you it can make for a awkward entrance. Also you get to look at blank walls and a ugly kitchen door. It was a disappointment and I don't think that i will be coming back here soon.

We ate there several wks ago. My husband ordered the shrimp scampi, which isn't your typical shrimp scampi, but sautéed shrimp on risotto, he said it was the best he has ever had. My daughter had the rib eye. Cooked perfectly, and the Brussels sprout side was wonderful!! I ordered the seafood trio. The crab cake was disappointing. It was fishy tasting and didn't have the nice chunks of crab. The other shrimp in the trio was great! Oldest daughter had the fry burger, and she loved it. The menu is spendy. A bit high priced for this area I think. Our servers were just ok. When we asked what were the specials, they didn't know, and then gestured towards the back of the room at a chalk board which was hard to read from way across the restaurant. I agree with the other person about the layout. Did they not plan on having a hostess station? It seems out of placed, and very crammed in to a corner. It makes the whole front of the room seem squished. We will give it another try, as overall the food was great! I hope they decrease their prices though, or I think it will be a short lived place.
