When this place does it right, it's average. When it drops the ball, it's downright inedible. Inedible, peppered with the whining screams of children and slathered with the paralyzing claustrophobia of being crammed into a building far past capacity. YUMMMMMMMM! They had a special burger they were pumping out a couple months ago (they might still be)--a smoke and pepper burger--and the description sounded seriously mouthwatering. Who the hell -wouldn't- love a burger with sharp cheddar, thick-cut peppered bacon and smoky ketchup? But, alas, much like everything else here, the mental imagery of the burger far exceeded the reality. I made just one substitution; I asked if I could have it on an egg bun as opposed to a ciabatta roll. My friend ordered the same burger (with the ciabatta roll) and the waitress trotted off. When the burgers arrived, my friend and I shared a sideways "seriously?" glance. This 'premium' burger cost more than any other burger on the menu by a considerable amount and it was very unimpressive looking. I shrugged it off--appearances aren't everything, right?--and prepared to take a bite. The bottom bun was so completely saturated in oil that it almost instantly disintegrated in my hands. I managed to get one bite in before it fell back onto my plate in a soupy mess. The meat itself (which I requested slightly pink) was quite raw and oozing liquid meat jizz everywhere. And the taste? Old fryer oil, raw meat juice, funky 'fake smoke' flavored ketchup, wilted lettuce and soggy bun. When I decided the burger was a total inedible bust, I turned to my fries. Something seemed amiss about them, however, and when I lifted the metal ring to free them, a gigantic pool of oil completely blanketed the whole platter. If it hadn't been so damn dark in there--honestly, how the hell are you going to get your mack on with so many screaming fuck trophies running around--I would've snapped a pic. My friend was -appalled- with my plate but equally as disgusted with her burger. The tough ciabatta roll was unable to stand up to the oily mess and it, too, crumbled like a waterlogged feminine product. The waitress came back sometime later. We showed her the meals and her only comment was, "Yeah, that little beast can totally get messy! The buns smoosh apart all the time!". ... Yeah... might want to re-evaluate that, then. My friend got a cod sandwich and I got some chicken sandwich thing. She said hers was edible and mine, though an absolute gift after what I'd just wrapped my lips around, was just all right as well. Annnnd that's about as good as it ever gets. If I take a bite of something and think, "Hm... i don't feel like violently regurgitating", I consider it a positive experience. A few standouts, good and bad: - "Bottomless" Fries: IT'S A TRAP. I've NEVER gotten a fry refill here, nor have I ever been asked if I've wanted one. I've even been denied these 'bottomless' fries when I've requested them. - Service: It's hit or miss, and it's usually a miss. Most of the servers don't move fast and if they do, they're moving quickly past you. I've never encountered anyone rude, per se, but I've faced many of the 'careless sloth' type. - Freckled Lemonades/Limeades: These kick ass and are actually bottomless. The guys at work love coming here, and there have been a couple times when I've just gotten one of these to pull me through. They're refreshing and completely worth the 3.99 price tag.

The burgers are alright. There are many other places to get a great burger. But if you want to take the kids out take them here, and leave the great burgers for the places where the atmosphere is not like a playground with children running amok.. that sounds good to me! The steak fries are ok and if you like them you are in luck because they are bottomless. But there's a lot of potato in those fries and i prefer mine a little thinner and crispy. This is definitely the kind of place to bring the kids and judging how many times you'll hear the waitstaff sing happy birthday songs it's always at least 1/2 of their birthdays.. I usually go when I'm out with friends with kids and we we want somewhere kid- friendly out in the burbs. I usually get the patty melt or a bowl of chili. For not being a chili fan theirs is actually pretty good.

There are two reasons Red Robin irritates me beyond belief. One, this place is PACKED weekend nights. Expect a 45 minute wait amongst many screaming children and while holding a greasy buzzer. Two, I cannot recreate their spicy ketchup. What is in it? TELL ME!!! Most times I put myself through the 45 minute wait is usually after telling the wife "let's swing by Red Robin for a QUICK bite and drink before a movie at Carmike". The "quick" part never pans out so we often find ourselves sacrificing food and drink time or our movie plans. Bleh. Service has always been hit or miss. During our most recent visit, we were in an extra rush for the movie and of course we had the most neglectful server. Nothing is more frustrating than rushing through your meal and having to flail your arms in the air to get your check. During times when this place isn't packed, service is usually quite good. The burger options are aplenty. I like to bug servers and get tips and recommendations often so I have learned some good burger combos here. They don't mind, ask away! I enjoy most the Royal Red Robin burger with texas toast for the bun. While you feel guilty eating it, it makes the tastebuds happy. Cooking here has been consistent for me and I have yet to have a food complaint. Aside from the most recent server delivering the incorrect side, all is well in the food department. This place is definitely worth a stop once in a while. I recommend avoiding any type of potential prime time unless you like screaming children and families of 12 in the tiny front waiting area (it's ok to leave the kids home sometimes, people!). Prepare yourself mentally for a vast amount of burger options and don't hesitate to add that fried egg.

I said before I'm a pretty positive person. I like to cheer on there underdog and see good rise from a difficult situation. One of the folks from RR has reached out to me. I'm hopeful that some great things come from it because I've heard how good the chain is elsewhere.

So far the service has sucked. Walked in and was told it would be a 10 minute wait. It has now been 35 minutes. The hostesses don't seem to care. I guess the bigger the group you are and the later you come the faster you get seated. Our server Jeanna was the greatest. That is the only thing that saved them this time.

Well, after my 2-star review last time, the general manager contacted me to try and resolve any issue and to learn what exactly I found unsatisfactory about my last experience. After some phone tag we chatted and I was told that Red Robin would pick up the tab next time if I was willing to give them another try. They would send me a gift card or something. Fair enough. I'm still waiting, that was October. As it turns out, we have returned (without the gift card). It was better this last time, but still a bit slow getting our check so we can pay and get out. I would bump up the rating, but they did say they would send us something, which by the way I didnt ask for. My thing now is do what you say you are going to do if you want to keep customers. Right?

We love Red Robins burgers . We always get take out though because the service is horrible .we waited 45 minutes for our food and it was not busy in the place. Our server was no where to be found. So our drinks were empty quite a bit. When we do order we make sure the order is right before leaving the parking lot. Fool us once .... Overpriced but sometimes we get a craving

Came here one night with my 7 year old sister. She had the spaghetti and I had a burger with an egg on top. The service was ok, nothing standout about it. That's about all the good for this location. The wait time for a burger and spaghetti should never be 25-30 minutes. The spaghetti tasted terrible. The sauce was off, I don't know if it was expired or had been sitting around all day, but it smelled as bad as it tasted. The burger was decent, but I could tell that it had been sitting too. The egg that is supposed to be over easy had coagulated. Onion rings were not crispy. Fries were a little soggy. Will not be going back.

The only reason why I'm giving this place 3-stars is because...well, it's not terrible. That, and they have bottomless rootbeer floats, which, in my mind, is awesome. That being said, the service? I am not sure what I was expecting, but it was all just very "meh". And SLOW. And sort of awkward....as in you've pretty much ignored us the entire meal and now that it's getting close to tip-consideration time, you're suddenly hovering awkward. Our food was meh (I had an overpriced, lackluster chicken caesar wrap with WAY too much dressing, boyfriend had a burger). Our experience was meh. This place = meh. But then again, judging from the long stretch of nothing but chain restaurants, maybe this is the best Apple Valley has to offer? Hope I'm wrong in that assumption.

The good- - Bottomless Steak Fries - (Good ranch but runny ranch so bib up or you end up with the ranch stain next to the beer stain on your shirt. - $6.99 Double Tavern bottomless Steak fries seems to be the price and amount to fill the void. - Wife likes the sweet potato fry option as well. - REWARDS CARD! Promotion deals and free food 10th burger free or something of that nature. Bar doesn't allow kids! I can see where this adds value for certain groups. The Bad- - Don't try the weekend lunch hour or dinner hour hit the mid afternoon or you could be sitting in the den for awhile. - Parking is a bit small for anything close during rush hours and entrance/exit in and out is a bit small for any sizeable SUV.

To be honest I've never been that impressed with the burgers but this place gets 3 stars for having gluten free burger buns and fries. I wish they had more gluten free beer options.

Best restaurant chain in the country by far. Food and service are pretty consistent and we've been to many different locations in 3 different states. This location just had a renovation and looks nice and is always clean. Great burgers and chicken. We love the "bottomless" fries and I personally like to shake some of the red robin seasoning salt on my fries. Almost every server is outgoing and very friendly. Great chain restaurant!

I am giving four stars because our waitress, Amber, was really good, as was the food. I can't give five stars because I was very disappointed to be charged an additional dollar PER CHILD because they ordered a kiddie cocktail as their drink. When I was questioned, I was told that anything with syrup was no longer free. I really doubt it cost two dollars to put a squirt if grenadine in a kids drink, and it would have been he courteous thing to do to mention that would be an extra cost when it was ordered.

Have visited this place many times over the years and it's definitely hit or miss. Tonight our server was awesome, very friendly and attentive until we made a light hearted complaint about the fries but that's cool. We normally wait forever to get seated but tonight got in pretty quick. The food was okay. Nobody was thinking this is the best food ever and we need to come back ASAP. The fries are normally delicious but it tastes like maybe they got cheaper fries because they were inedible. Margaritas are too sour or too sweet and way overpriced. $8 mixed drinks and they are not good. I'm sure we will be back but it will be a while. Forgot to mention management gave us a discount for the bad fries which we didn't expect and was appreciated.

Love, love their burgers! I think I could use one now actually. Forget about any other restaurant and bring you bottom over here if you are looking for a burger for dinner. There are quite a few to choose from and I have had them all! You can't really go wrong! If you love fries, you can have as much as you want since it is bottomless. I suggest you ask for the garlic parmesan fries, those are awesome. Their chicken sandwiches are good too, as well as the wraps. Prices are affordable and you will leave full. Service most of the time is pretty good, but they don't get 5 start because I have had some disappointing service a couple times, but not bad enough to keep me away. Overall it is a fun atmosphere good for gatherings and you get free dessert on your birthday.

We have always had great service at the Apple Valley location but tonights service was horrible. Four wait staff and the place was packed. Our server said they cut the staff tonight. No slam on the wait staff but this was a bad call on management.

Long story short... We've been going here for 2 years and the first 1.75 years were filled with inconsistent service, inconsistent food, overall inconsistent experiences. A couple months ago we were told after one of the bad experiences by the new manager that he was brought in to make some changes. He gave us a gift card and told us to give him a few weeks and come back and try it again. We did and it was very good. A few weeks later we came back again and had the pleasure of being served by Derek. He's a young guy with an excellent personality that truly takes to heart what his job is in the service industry. Well, we went back again last night. Lucky us, we were in Derek's section again. He even recognized that we had been there weeks ago and welcomed us back. He again displayed the type of service, personality, attentiveness, and genuine drive to do the best he could for everyone of the tables we saw him serve. Derek and his manager both now know how much we appreciate what he brings to this restaurant. The only reason this is 4 and not 5 stars is that it took a little longer than we thought is should to get our food once it was ordered. However, Derek made the wait pleasant and worth it. ASK FOR DEREK'S SECTION WHEN YOU GO HERE!!!

Menu looked good so I order the prime rib Sammie...... What a joke. Think of 2 little roast beef sliders from White Castle. To accompany them, they gave me 7 fries with it. All of it was luke warm. Got a refill on da fries and they were hot and got twice as many. We weren't even done with dinner and Ricky asked us if we wanted our check yet.... I should leave 1 star but I'm being nice tonight... Tip? Hmmmm

We haven't been to Red Robin in a long time. We were really disappointed in the change of the interior. Too cramped. Seemed like they are trying to be a fancier restaurant the they are. My Whiskey River chicken was bland. This was always my go to order but doubt I would get it again. Hate the new menu format. We will probably go back but not very soon.

HELP! HELP!!! This chain needs new management! I'm a winnie the pooh sized girl--well, maybe a little less than pooh sized, but I overheard the server tell the bartender that, "those chubby girls can really drink those iced teas." I was mortified! The food is ok--love the fries. I'm just so over the place after that experience. It's gettin' expensive here too!

Love their burgers and service. Everytime we've been here, it's been great! Order a burger. You can't go wrong. If you're a person that doesn't like to be around a bunch of kids/families, this isn't the place for you. If you have a family with kids, it is. The mgmt is also great and very understanding, polite and courteous. I also don't care for chains... But this one is an exception.

Red Robin is your typical chain restaurant. What they do, they do pretty consistently. The burgers are good, but should be served with a bib. I always need utensils to manage to eat one without wearing it. I am not a fan of steak fries so am not excited by the bottomless fries side. I would rather have an option. Service has always been attentive and friendly. Recently I found that they have great happy hour specials. Not the place I usually think of for HH, but worth consideration.

I love there bottomless steak fries!! The burgers are fabulous, so are the spinach wraps. I recommend the buffalo chicken wrap or the red robin Gourmet cheeseburger. The staff is really friendly, polite and on top of everything, and the atmosphere is very lively - good place for families with kids but also couples too. Not too expensive - you definitely get your money's worth! Yummmm

This place rocks if you have kids and don't want to eat on a cafeteria tray. The service is always fast and they are SUPER kid friendly. The kid menu is good and the normal menu for adults is fantastic! The Blue Ribbon Burger is my fave and the Crispy Chicken Burger is great too! The "all you can eat" steak fries are a favorite of my kids. They are fast and my drink is alway refilled (which is one of my tip metrics - more fills, more tips). Birthdays - they come sing to you : )
(4)
Sarah L.
If I am craving for a good burger, I go to Red Robin. They are fast and friendly, and if I tell them I like my burgers cut in half, they will do it! And they are pretty good. I always get the cheeseburger and once in a while I'd venture into trying a different one. The price is right, not to bad, and I think you get your money's worth. Great place for a group of people, kids, and what have you. I will say I hate hearing them singing happy birthday to someone every 5 minutes during my meal. But that's what you get when you are going to a kid friendly place, I suppose.

I am not the world's biggest supporter of fast food chains, but this burger joint really rubs me the right way. Well, at least their Whiskey River BBQ Burger substituted with a Boca Burger rubs me the right way. The service has always been fast and friendly, and it's definitely a family-friendly environment. There are always lots of kids, and plenty of tvs to keep their little minds occupied while the adults digest a beer and lean back for a bit. Nothing much more to say about it, other than great burgers, good service, and doesn't hurt your pockets too badly. OH! And I thought it was really nice that the other night when I was there, the manager came over to our table near the end of the meal to ask us what we thought of everything, and thanked us for coming. I always feel like that is a great gesture.

Had a horrible experience the last two times here. Will not be going back. Last visit I received my drink in a glass that had food all over inside of it. Server and manager did nothing. It was disgusting.

I was very surprised how attentive management was at catching what could have been a bad experience. They did a nice job making things right.

HELP!

Waitstaff wasn't friendly. Burgers don't even come close to Five Guys.and they never asked us for a fry refill!

Royal Robin, what more needs to be said.

Red Robin is a fun, lively, kid-friendly place to enjoy great burgers fries and a beverage. I like the rootbeer float. Adult drinks can be ordered from the bar.
