I went here cause the other review was good and the place looked pretty legit. It wasn't that good. The food was just mediocre, nothing about it stood out. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled with Asian cuisine on the west coast but this just didn't do it for me. My curry wasn't hardly spicy at all and I ordered it 5. I will say though, the prices were more than fair.

I have only had their beef noodle soup aka pho at Vietnamese kitchens. It is very good and close yo home. I work from home and get the pho at least once a week! Great on cold days and friendly local owners.

I was teetering between 3 and 4 stars but the service here pushed me up to the 4. Granted, I did let the very nice waitress talk me out of ordering hot and spicy chicken ("it's kind of boring unless you really like bamboo shoots" or something to that effect) and instead convinced me to try the Thai fried rice. The summary: Cream cheese wontons - i saw rave reviews here about the cheese puffs so I had to try them. I wouldn't do that again. They are actually puff shaped, which means they came out crispy on the outside but kind of mushy/soggy in the middle. I consider myself a cheese wonton connoisseur and these were simply not good - the cheese to wonton ratio was good and I think the flavors would have been OK but the shape and/or the preparation resulted in the unthinkable: I couldn't even finish them. Fried Rice: it was OK but certainly not anything special and definitely not "extra spicy" as she assured me the cook could do. It was good fried rice. Period. So I'll probably return as it's a convenient stop when head up 94 or coming home and I need to try some other items to get a better feel for the place. But for now I'm going to say 3 1/2 stars.

Spring rolls are awesome.... When they have not run out, this has happened to me 3 times when ordering takeout. The pad Thai is also great. The staff is super friendly and service fAst! Our go to "too lazy to cook" place!

COCKROACHES. While we were sitting at the table a cockroach ran across us. Grossed me out to where I couldn't even eat. It was my 2nd time going here and that has completely ruined it for me the food is good. But they get 2 stars because they didn't even try to give me a discount or sincerely apologize I had to tell them that I'm not paying full price because of the cockroach so they have me 15% off. Never going back

I got the chicken lo mein which was lacking in flavor and overall lack luster. The eggrolls were good but unfortunately not enough to make me come back.

Clean atmosphere. Clean/crisp meals. Much more than "standard" Thai food to chose from. We don't live near here but we make it a point to stop EVERY TIME we drive by! As for the egg rolls, the meat to cabbage ratio is mostly meat unlike most places that use cabbage as the filler. The wontons are crisp and delicate and bursting with yummy cream cheese. We've never been disappointed in any of the meals we have ordered here .

This place was recommended by several friends, so we gave it a try. Tried the Sesame Chicken and Chicken Lo Mien. Food quality was average. I found it over priced for what you got to eat. Would not recommend.

I love Thai food. Hong Thai is not the best if you want real authentic Thai food. I was disappointed the first time I tried it. Decided to give it another try and I'll have to say, it will be my last time. If you want great Thai food and you don't mind driving, Nong's in Golden Valley is super delicious. I ordered the Pad see ewe and it tasted a little burnt and dry. The fried rice was just average or below average. The food just wasn't up to par like how I expect Thai food to be.

Holy Hannah, Hong Thai is good!! We're a vegan family and I am a no oil, plant-based eater and right away our waiter told us that they make everything fresh and could accommodate our diets. My husband told the waiter to recommend a dish and he chose the Drunken Noodles which my husband loved and my daughter had vegetarian egg rolls and vegetable Pho which was huge and delicious, served with fresh bean sprouts and mint. I started with the cucumber salad which was so good I could have eaten 2 more plates. It was really fresh and ice cold with cilantro and mint and for my main dish I had steamed vegetables and rice which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert we split a serving of sticky rice with mango and coconut which was hands down the best version we've ever had in a Thai restaurant. Our waiter (the owner's son) was knowledgeable, helpful and kind and very easy to talk to. We can't wait to return!!

Good is always delicious and the meat and vegetables used are very high quality. The pad Thai is the best we've had and egg rolls are also great. Stir fried broccoli is another favorite of our family.

Authentic Thai food outside of the city! I have enjoyed every dish that I have tried. The crispy shrimp rolls are amazing! The only downside is that they are a bit skimpy on the meat in their dishes.

Great Thai. Very surprising to get this variety of food in Albertville. Friendly staff, food quality is consistently good. We have found this location is better overall than the sister restaurant in Rogers.

Best egg rolls and the dipping sauce-they are a must! Fried rice, chicken lo mein and sweet and sour chicken are some of our other family favorites.

The egg rolls are the best. I love the curry and spicy Papaya salad. If you're in the area and crave some authentic Thai food this is the best place in town.

I know Thai food and this place definitely cannot make Thai food. Very disappointing. I tried this place before and didn't think highly of it, but decided to give it a second chance---super disappointed. Hong Thai is probably a great place for people who want something different, but as for the authentic taste of thai food, they should try in the cities.

AMAZING!! The chicken pad Thai was delicious and the service was awesome :) my boyfriend and I went in and the restaurant was empty, I guess that was an advantage but it felt like we reserved the whole place to ourselves and the waitress was so sweet and kind!! It's one of our favorite restaurants now :)

We typically try to make a stop here when we are in the area - great food and friendly people.

We stopped on Valentine's Day and the staff was overwhelmed, place was packed and only two servers. We waited for an hour and had appetizers during that time. I finally asked how much longer and they weren't able to start ours yet so we paid for what we ate and left. Staff was very nice and apologized repeatedly. The appetizers were delicious, we just won't visit again during a very busy day. Looking forward to the next try though.

The egg rolls, spring rolls, cream cheese wonton and Thai Curry are excellent! The potato stir fry sucks - it consists of what look to be store shelf potato chips!

Real pad thai and excellent egg rolls. The curries are all very good too. Typically get take out as the service can be slow.

My Husband and I love this little Thai place. We have been getting their chicken pad Thai for years! And, of course, their yummy egg rolls!!!!!! Kind of a small place with small staff, but the food is always bomb. !!!!

This place is a gem. Who would ever guess that some of the best Thai food would be found in Rogers, MN or Albbertville, MN. To start simple this place has "to die for" egg rolls and the best cream cheese puffs in MN. Simple things but they are simply very good. The rest of the menu is a treat. Great traditional dishes and very consistant quality. The selection of curried dishes mixes things up with the different curry sauces and different leves of heat. I you like it hot ask for the 5 star treatment and enjoy the sweat under the eye sockets but not and unearthy burning of the mouth. Great find!

Hong Thai is a decent option in Albertville. My Pad Thai was pretty good. My Thai wife had the Tom Ka Gai and she said it was exactly average.

I really wish I could give negative stars for this restaurant. First of all, I'm Thai so I do know Thai food and how Thai food is supposed to be and supposed to taste like. This restaurant served me and my friends (also all Thai) the worst food we've ever tasted. We went there on Sunday evening while on the way back from Itasca state park. We called and asked when would they close. After they told us that they would close at 8 pm, we then informed them that we (a party of 6) were on the way to the restaurant and would get there by 7:35 pm. They said ok for us to go there. Once we were there (exactly at 7:35 pm), the American guy standing at the back of the restaurant immediately shouted at us and told us that we had to order the food right away. He said everyone at the restaurant was in a hurry so we had to order and eat fast and leave. We were a party of 6 and the restaurant did not any table big enough for us 6 so we had to arrange the table by ourselves while that American person standing, watching, and shouting at us to order the food BUT NOT HELPING US. We ordered a bunch of items, and they all tasted just horrid. I seriously have never tasted any food this bad before. We ordered stir-fried bean thread noodle, lemon coconut milk soup with chicken, papaya salad, spicy seafood stir-fried. The soup tasted really weird. .. bland with no hint of lemongrass or galanga smell. The papaya salad and the seafood stir-fried were horribly sweet. Stir-fried bean thread noodle was the only dish that was just so-so. Overall, we were not impressed. .. rude manner with the worst food. I'm for sure not coming back.

I've had a lot of Thai in my day and this is a place where I can see myself eating at 1-2 times per week. The place is pretty quaint but can get busy. The wait staff is pretty fast and helpful. The price, not too bad. I ordered a Thai Tea and wasn't blown away. I feel like it wasn't homemade, maybe a powder used with water. My family ordered an egg roll appetizer to start. The egg rolls were amazing. Super crunchy, think, and nice flavors. For entrees we ordered the Pad Se Eew with Chicken, Thai Curry Rice, and Pad Thai. All three of these dishes were outstanding. The Pad Thai was definitely my favorite even though I almost never order it when I go to Thai Restaurants (It's usually the Pad Se Eew). The Thai Curry Rice had that explosive flavor you would expect from Thai Curry but it wasn't overbearing. The Pad Se Eew had a different flavor than I'm used to, but not in a bad way. In a place that has almost no small mom and pop type restaurants (especially Asian), this is a welcome relief. For the price, for the food, you can't go wrong here.

The food and service are really awesome. However the LOUD TV is horrible. I don't want to watch or hear any movie! Please get rid of this! It was really sad to see three of four families ignoring each other and watching the tv. Ugh. Really bad vibes. I don't think anyone would ever come here for the tv. Hong Thai is not a BAR! Please sell the tv and loud little speakers.

Hong Thai is a saving grace for me here in suburban hell. It's a food oasis in a foodie desert. Surprisingly authentic, fresh, and delicious Thai cuisine is prepared here (and in the other location in Rogers). Decor is nothing to write home about but it's clean and the service is fine to good. Prices are reasonable with well-sized portions. I usually stick to the curries, which are divine. The Pad Thai is good as well, as are the house Thai fried rice and the soups. They also serve beer and wine (a bonus!). Hard to believe this joint is in a strip mall, but don't let that scare you.

This place came highly recommended by my sister and her husband, so my wife and I went there on a Saturday night. The place was dead - one other couple. That was fine. We didn't mind that. The atmosphere was not great. If kind of felt like a bar, but without the bar. There was a TV on turned up a bit loud showing Entertainment Tonight. The table was dirty - they cleaned it up quickly when we asked. It was cold in the restaurant (maybe due to the lack of people), but they turned up the heat when we asked. We still kept our jackets on the whole time. This was in December 2009. The food was not bad, but nothing special. Thai is our favorite food and this place just didn't compare to Minneapolis institutions like Chiang Mai Thai, The King and I or True Thai. We had the spring rolls (very good) and two stir fry dishes (average). We heard afterwards that we should have tried the Panang curry. If we ever go back, we will give that a shot. But honestly, I am not sure when we will go back. Like I said, the place is average at best. There aren't too many places in the St. Michael/Elk River area so maybe this could be considered one of the best.

As Adam Richman would say, Ooh my goodness....Ooh my goodness! This place is soooo good. You really wouldn't think one of the best Thai restaurants would be up in this area but.... Holy crap! This is the real deal! Like Kyle said, the egg rolls aren't even egg rolls, they're like the best creation ever, and the cream cheese wantons are the best I've ever had. I can't recommend any one particular item on the menu as everything that I've tried so far has been excellent. This place is so good that I bet there vegetarian dishes are even good!

Really good food. The Thai Beef Jerky and Sticky Rice (#40) is off the hook!
