Seafood Express is ok. It's greasy but that's to be expected when the majority of the menu items are deep fried. Their lemon pepper seasoning is so good, you can purchase it separately. It is spicy with the perfect amount of heat. I've had the chicken wings, shrimp, and catfish. The chicken is decent. Nothing to brag about. Catfish is pretty good. Not impressed with the shrimp. The large shrimp is no where near large. Prices are ok. You can see the seafood on ice in the clear glass refrigerated section so you know what you are getting before they cook it, which is a plus. There are a few tables but it's pretty much a carry out spot. I noticed people waiting in their cars so they obviously rather sit in a car than wait inside. It's best to call ahead.

Figured we would give express a try. My order was somple, 2 lbs fresh jumbo shrimp. Figured it would be ready to cook, and fresh.....NOPE! They came out and handed me a bag of store bought frozen shrimp, what the hell is this crap? Also, couldn't be very fresh being that the bag said product of India. I drove 30 minutes each way for the same garbage I could buy from kroger.

Delicious! Best seafood we've had since our trip to Annapolis, MD. The two guys running it were very attentive and took wonderful care of us. We had the number 1 & 2, walleye and catfish sandwiches with 5 shrimp and fries. Coleslaw and hushpuppies were spot on, too. A hidden treasure.

Slow service - and greasy, greasy, GREASY! It's my opinion that they don't keep the fryers hot enough, and the fish drips with congealing grease.

***Do NOT go here!*** I will NOT support a business that does not respect its customers. Point blank. I have been dissatisfied with the service given to me by this place twice. The first time, I waited a ridiculous amount of time for an order of fried fish. They had forgotten about my order, and all they could say was "We are sorry", and offered nothing in return. The second time, the fish was DISGUSTING. I called and asked if they had changed their recipe, the worker responded no. When I continued to let him know how dissatisfied I was with the fish, he began to question me like I was lying and began asking questions irrelevant to the situation. Ultimately, he told me to call back in 30 minutes when someone else who could resolve this issue would be available. I call back in 30 minutes and apparently the manager is not available. Additionally, I have always felt that the food is too expensive for what is given. Anyways, I do not care. From now on, they can keep their nasty, new fish recipe AND my money, because I will not be back. On top of that, this employee needs to be fired. On top of that, this company should remember that in America the customer is always right.

Delicious! The seasoning in the batter is amazing, especially the shrimp!

I ordered fish n chips, and it was said that it came with bread/roll. What I got with it was sandwhich bread from Krogers (the ones that cost $1 for the entire loaf). I didn't like the coleslaw and the frenchfries were unsalted. The fried fish was very blend and flavorless (I dont know if its just cod, but I think the original fish n chips should taste good!) The coleslaw tasted old, and the fried shrimp that I had were very salty. It was pretty pricey for what we got; about $11 for each plate.

If you like fried fish urban/southern style then this is the place. It's the best fish place to get fried fish and shrimp in the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area. There's nothing fancy about it. It's like going to the fish market and getting your fish cooked for you. On that note, order ahead for pick up or you'll smell like grease when you leave. But definitely worth smelling like it.

Pretty good fried fish. Very fresh and not greasy. The batter fried catfish was outstanding and the medium shrimp were excellent. Got the breaded perch cause I LOVE perch, not so good.

I want to give a rounded review, so I'll say first that I've had good soul food type chicken and fish here two or three times. Yummy. No complaints. However, I just placed a larger catering order this week, and was VERY disappointed. Here's the story: Very unprofessional. I placed a large order in person for a party and put down a deposit. The business doesn't open until 11, but I talked to the manager/owner in person and he told me that I could pick up the order at 11am. The phone connection was really terrible, and I couldn't here well at first -- I actually thought it was another business calling about pie I'm having delivered. I was really surprised when the person on the other end of the line rather rudely insisted that I had not ordered delivery -- this was quickly sorted out when I realized they were calling about the chicken, but my feathers were ruffled from the employee's rude tone. Then she told me the order wouldn't be ready until 11:30 because they don't open until 11. I explained to her that I had made the order in person and was told that I could pick up the order at 11. She didn't really make any effort to accommodate me, but rather just reiterated that can't have the order . Her manner seemed unprofessional and argumentative. She had an attitude. I agreed to pick up the order at 11:30 and hung up, angry. A few minutes later I called back and asked to speak to the manager; the girl on the phone told me she is the manager. I asked to speak to the gentleman with whom I placed the order (her father); she put me on hold. She eventually came back and said that he was busy and couldn't speak to me. I asked when he could call me back. She then admitted that they'd taken another large order and couldn't have both ready by 11. I told her that it was rude/incorrect to move my order back because I had placed mine first; she said that she didn't want to disappoint her customers. I told her that she was disappointing ME by moving my pickup time back. After a rather unpleasant exchange she agreed to have my order ready by 11am. I want to support any business that provides halal food, but I won't be recommending this business to anyone else because they gave me the distinct impression that they didn't care about me as a customer. This could have all been avoided if the employee with whom I spoke had been polite and professional instead of rude, defensive, and evasive.
