If you're a no-frills, strictly meat sandwich lover, this place is for you. I ordered a pastrami on rye, and that is exactly what I got. No fru-fru veggies or dressing here. Plus they put enough meat in the sandwich to make it almost as big as my head. Seriously. Overall, it's tasty, but I think a little overpriced. Plus, I'm not a big fan of American cheese, and that's what they smother their cheese fries with. Their pickles are pretty darn tasty though. To sum up: Not necessarily for me, but I can see why people love this place.

How in the world can anyone not love this place? Enormously-sized and mouth-watering sandwiches! Reasonably priced menu! Perhaps I am a bit bias having grown up on these sandwiches since I was a young lad, but the fact of the matter is that this place is second to none in terms of value and taste. Maize and Blue Deli and Zingerman's may receive all of the hype in this town, but Bread Basket will always prevail in my heart, mind, and most importantly, stomach! As an FYI try their cheesesteak hoagie and you will instantly become a fan of it as well...

Love the sandwiches here! Sometimes it can take a little while to get your order but it's totally worth it. I'm a huge fan of the turkey club. Some days though the meat is a little dry so that's why I took a star off. The sandwiches are massive though, I do wish though that they had a smaller version than the 6oz as I can never finish the sandwich. I always take off some excess meat or lettuce because there is just too much to fit in my mouth!

The Reuben sandwich is so filling and I would recommend just the sandwich. The sandwich was big enough for me and once I got to the fries I felt over stuffed. The service was awesome and didn't feel rushed or that anyone was rude to the customers.

Great food but they do NOT allow you to change what is on the menu. So if you ordered a sandwich that normally comes with mayo and you don't want it. Too bad. Never going back especially for the atrocious prices

Delicious - the kind of place I'd take my dad to for lunch. Classic deli with fantastic sandwiches

Bread Basket Deli is a charming little restaurant near Meijer on Carptener rd in the Ypsilanti/Pittsfield Charter Township area. They've got a huge selection of sandwiches and deep fried appetizers, as well as desserts. I've gotten the Reuben on an onion roll twice. I get the regular size, which is the size of two reasonably sized sandwiches. Compared to the Reubens I've had overall, this is a good one. However, as they pride themselves on having a superior Reuben, I'm going to compare them to other places where the Reuben is their specialty. Though the Bread Basket Deli's Reuben is a very good size, the taste is a bit one-note. There's not much tang from either the sauerkraut or the Russian dressing. It's heavy and savory with a hint of sweetness, but the flavors meld together and lose their individual characters (and the kraut and dressing just kind of get lost in it). Again, it's not a bad Reuben by any stretch - I'd rate it as good, but not great. I've also had the Reuben egg roll, which I recommend. It's filled with corned beef, sauerkraut, Russian dressing etc and, well, wrapped and fried like an egg roll. It's super crispy. I definitely think it's worth getting one to try. I've also had their jalapeno poppers. Poppers could probably bring world peace, and the BBD has some righteous poppers. Lastly, I've had their pickles, which I think taste pretty great. Overall, the Bread Basket Deli offers huge portions, nice service, and good food. The price of the food isn't cheap ($10-12 for a 'regular' sized sandwich, though you and someone else could split it and each have enough to eat). I give 3 stars because neither the food or price blew me away.

This place has delicious, huge sandwiches. I would recommend the corned beef over the pastrami to anyone, the fries are nothing too special and aren't seasoned, The potato salad was very mushy and boring but their menu is very extensive and they have so many options!

I do love me a bread basket reuben sandwich. It's amazing and really hits the spot. Crunchy buttered bread, russian dressing, kraut, and a thick serving of tender corned beef with an iced-cold coke. Their pickle needs work, but the sandwich and fountain drinks (good carbonation) are solid here. They now honor a 10% off student discount. The sandwiches are still not cheap though: the "regular" sandwiches, which are ginormous, are around $10-$11 and the smaller versions, 6oz of meat, are still going to come out around $8. But I think it's so worth it if you're craving a good sandwich. Ann Arbor is famous for Zingerman's Reuben sandwich, but I feel this place is just as good without the sandwich clocking it at $17.

Ate here once.. It was okay. The matzo ball soup was way too salty. My sandwich was pretty good, albeit a little greasy. I was disappointed by their carry out packaging.. Not earth friendly. :(

OK, I'm probably flying in the face of conventional wisdom with this review, but for my first time eating here, it was just OK. It's close to work and gotten rave reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. I REALLY wanted to just love everything about the place, but... I ordered the #11 Heather's Banquet. Baked ham, melted Swiss cheese, turkey, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. It wasn't that it was bad, it just wasn't as great as I had imagined. For the hefty $10.75 price tag, I was a little let down. The most flavor came from the mayo, of which there was a little too much for me. I was left feeling greasy and short changed. This is not an inexpensive lunch place. I also had a side of macaroni salad, which was actually pretty good. It's not something I would normally order in a deli, so I was pleasantly surprised. I have to admit, the selection of sandwiches, sides, and deserts is incredible. I especially liked the pictures representing the different items on the menu. Very Asian inspired, and something I think more restaurants should do. The people working there were very helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. They all exuded an air of happiness! All-in-all, I will go back and try a different sandwich. It could have been my choice that just didn't match up to my expectations, by there's certainly many more to try. Next time - A Turkey Rueben!

Yelp yanked my first update as my husband had picked it up for me :(. I have since returned all by my lonesome so I am re-reupdating. Confused? Me too. I am in no mood to wax poetic. Long story short then, ok? I complained. The owner saw my complaint quickly. He offered explanations, no excuses but a real explanation offered for each problem I had outlined. He wanted me to contact him when I was inclined to return. I have to avoid any hint of influence for an improved review so I did nothing of the sort. I sent hubby in for a carryout, was happy, wrote re-review. Yelp yanked it due to violation (as I was not actually there but was on the phone with him). Pouted. Not proud but it is true. Went back on my own. Had another happy experience. Have been too busy working to write yet ANOTHER review. Felt guilty. And there you go. Come here. Eat giant corned beef sammies and eat tasty new pickles. Be happy. Everything is all better. Owner rocks. If you have any kind of issue he will make it all better apparently :). My apologies for this piss poor review effort.

To me, when it comes to bread basket, the standard is the one in Livonia. On the flip side, this one in Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor is probably the worse one(when it comes to the corn beef sandwich in particular). Now its still really good (cheesesteak, fries, wings, etc), but its just lacking something that the other ones has and I just can't put my finger on it (maybe its the way the corn beef is cooked/chopped here). Overall it is a good value place because of the prices, the generous amount they give you, and it is good, just not up to the standard of bread basket that i know and love.

Just so good. We got the #12 (like a Reuben club) and coleslaw to share. Delicious! Honestly a great place. So many yummy sandwiches on the menu it is hard to decide!

Fast friendly service, if you like messy over stuffed sandwichs this is the place. I odered a veggie sandwich and it was overstuffed and messy which turned into a few pieces of bread with a salad. I would have prefered a smaller more manageable sandwich with more flavor.

This was my second time to this deli. I was very disappointed twice. For calling themselves the bread basket the bread sucks. My Ruben that they compare to Zingermans was dry tasteless and didn't even have 1,000 island dressing on it. The potato salad is like eating out of a mustard jar because that's all it tasted like. I will personally never go back and I live less then a mile away. I would suggest gas station food before this place.

The Bread Basket is a great made in Michigan brand. The sandwiches are HUGE, and can definitely feed two people. My favorite is the BB Special. Corned beef, lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, on an onion roll, "MMMmmm" SO good... You wont go wrong with a classic Ruben either! Also I really like the fact that the Bread Basket offers other made in Michigan brand products too, like Better Made chips and Faygo pop. With the RAVE theater right across the street, this is a great place to take a date on movie night... I really cant say enough good things about this place! If you live on the east side you have to check it out!

If you're hungry and loooove sandwiches, you'll love this place. Their menu is quite large. I am in love with #13- honey smoked turkey sandwich. On onion focaccia bun, there is 1 pound of smoked turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, melted swiss, with a hefty portion of honey mustard. It probably sits about 5 inches tall and you will not be able to finish it in one sitting. My boyfriend always gets their reuben. It also has about a pound of lean corned beef, delicious saurkraut with optional russian dressing (which is a must) on grilled rye bread. Again, about 5 inches tall. The restaurant is VERY casual. There are a few tables, plasticware, etc. It's nothing fancy but they know how to make great sandwiches!

Oh my. I feel so bloated.... I mean stuffed. Want a joy to find that the Bread Basket Deli hasn't changed a bit in all these years. I used to go to the Southfield BB Deli many years ago and always enjoyed their fantastic large sandwiches. Now, aside from some other locations, they've come to Ypsilanti. And with it comes huge deli sandwiches coming close to the perfection that can be found in NYC. I ordered a United Meat. Now don't get the wrong idea here. This is a large onion roll stacked high with corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, and some thousand island dressing. (Don't forget to check out the photos). The corned beef was full of flavor, the pastrami had just the right peppery taste and a the right lean/fat ratio. There must have been a pound of meat on my sandwich and 5 hours later, I'm still feeling it keeping my tummy all cozy. All other area delis seem to be cheating their customer when you see the portions that you get at the bread basket. My wife had the corned beef sandwich on an onion roll. She though it was just a bit on the dry side, although the deli serves it without any condiments. So yes, to me the Bread Basket Deli is better than most. If you look on the website or on the walls of the restaurants you'll see that they've been winning awards for quite a while. And you'll also find that they make around 20,000 lbs of corned beef a week. That's a whole lot of meat and a sure sign that they are loved by many. Yes I love NY delis better, but it's a long way to go for a sandwich. Bread Basket Deli does just fine.

I was at home - tired of the same ole, same ole. Had been craving something different and also a "Reuben Sandwich" had recently been on my mind. So I started a search to see what I could locate in the area. There were plenty of options - and I wanted something a little more "homegrown" and authentic. I didn't realize Detroit Metro has a pretty broad association of "great" sandwich shops. Being that I wanted something close by - I caught a good review of Bread Basket Deli and that prompted me to take a drive and check it out. In the end - it was well worth the trip and I was glad I took the chance. The deli is ironically - located right next to a Subway at the corner of Carpenter and Elsworth - across from the Meijer. The reason I bring this up is I occasionally drive by the area and I have even frequented that Subway once before - but this place never even caught my eye (I need to take the blinders off). It is not the most elegant or eye catching signage and exterior - but don't' let that influence you. On the inside - you get the feel this really is a "humble" sort of sandwich shop. Nothing flashing. In fact everyone coming and going was taking their food out (even though they have a small dine in area). I of course ordered a Reuben (traditional with Sauerkraut - although I was told their cole slaw is a top seller) and a Pastrami with Swiss. Both were delicious and made my night. I must say - we ordered the "regular" size and that was more than we could handle. So that size is more than enough (and I might have ventured towards the smallest size if I had known better). But - only because the portions are extremely generous (my mind was bigger than my stomach and I wanted more but had to take it slow). The best tip I received was by another patron who came in to order a lobster bisque. I inquired and he provide a high review - so I asked for a "small cup" just to try it out on the side. I'm not a soup connoisseur and I do not go out of my way to order it when I'm out - but this may have been the best lobster bisque I have had in a while (certainly beating out Zoup which is probably the last time I ordered it). Thumbs up all around. I have to give kudos to that gentleman for the tip! Mind you - this isn't the place for the weak hearted. If you are trying to diet / or don't care for heavy protein sandwich - you may not be as thrilled as I was. In my opinion though - this is a "splurge" type meal when you are craving a solid deli experience - and absolutely worth it! I might also mention that pricing (although comparable to other deli and high quality sandwich's) is going to be on the higher end. But - you are getting great quality and tasty returns. I wanted something that was different and satisfying - and I was willing to pay a little more to get it. It wasn't really until after we frequented that I got online and actually checked out their website. It was then I noticed they were voted best Deli in 2012 - which is something I would whole heartedly agree with. I'm anxious to go back and try some other items in the future.

The Bread Basket has set the standard for deli sandwiches in metro Detroit for years. The opening of this location made it so much more convenient for me to get my fix on. My favorite is a toss up between the corned beef and the turkey rueben. The meats are always fresh and flavorful. Both sandwiches are huge and plenty for a second meal. The counter staff always throws in enough pickles for two meals. I really appreciate that little touch. The pickles themselves are worthy of comment. Two kinds, new and old with just the right zing and levels of crunchiness. Old world type bread is used. Meaning substantial, non-wimpy with alot of flavor on it's own. Soup is offerred but I have never tried any of these. A variety of desserts is also available. I have tried the seven layer cake, the chocolate cake and the peach cobbler. Never a disappointment here.

Food is good but my issue is with their customer service. Dont bother taking any coupons to this place unless you read the tiny fine print. Had a coupon for free can of pop and chips with a regular sandwich. The sandwichs are quite large so I usually get a small but i ordered up due to the coupon. Upon presenting my copon they point to some tiny fine print at the bottom coupon saying it was only good from 2-5pm, I was there at 1:30pm. I asked the manager for leniancy and the guy couldn't even formulate a sentence all he could say was "2-5" english was obviously not his first language but why put this guy in charge if he cant properlly comunicate with the customers. Maybe if the manager could have given a better explanation then muttering the same 3 words over and over I would think about going back, but after his response I feel like I was duped into ordering a larger sandwich.

The bread's good, but you eat here for pastrami! Huge portions, and the meat is done right! I really like their commitment to support locally grown and/or produced products. I like the quaint atmosphere, and the friendly service. Try a pastrami on rye: oh man, it is good!

Really good sandwiches here...why can't there be more places like this?!?! I had the Reuben on an onion roll and it was SUPER filling and really good (no Star Deli in Southfield, but I've yet to find a better corned beef in Detroit). Portions are HUGE here, I was more than fine ordering the smallest size sandwich.

I've searched a long time for the perfect reuben and Bread Basket is the best I've found. I'm the type of reuben lover that as soon as I see one on the menu it is hard for me to order something else. I don't see how people complain about the prices for 10 bucks you get a quarter of a cow, for 2 bucks more they give you half a cow. It is so much meat I would put it on my resume if I was fortunate enough to shake the hand of the man or woman who could fit a full bite into their mouth. Enough about the meat. Also right balance of kraut, maybe would of added a little more sauce, but this is personal so ask for a side if you want extra.

  • Mark A.

The food is Very Good. The service is okay, but could use improvement. The atmosphere overall is very hole in the wall, but not in a good way. The prices are a little high considering the overall experience. This place could use a bit of a makeover and maybe more combinations or specials such as soup and sandwich or sandwich, fries and a drink.

  • Stuart D.

When I have a really nice bit of corned beef, I tend to shed a tear. When I come across a well-done pastrami, I choke up a bit. In either of those cases, when I can forego the mustard and enjoy a good russian dressing, I begin to do a little dance in my chair. But when you go the distance and put all three together, the result is an uncontrollable flood of emotions. Thus, I introduce you to the "United Meats" sandwich. I'm pretty sure that I will be 95% of what I will ever order at Bread Basket Deli... and I'm fine with that. It is a great sandwich. The store itself lacks character in my opinion. It always seems that the dining area is in shambles. The pictures of the menu items on the walls don't really do it for me. But, in this particular case, I've never dined or intended to dine in, so I generally let that all slide. Give their creations a try.

I grew up going to the Bread Basket deli in Oak Park, and worked at the old Embers Deli in Bloomfield hills. I know deli, and to be honest I like this bread basket. Great Corned Beef. Splitable sandwiches, fresh ingredients. Its not the Zingermans experience but its great stuff.

  • George A.

Biggest and best corned beef sandwiches! Portions are enormous! You definitely get your moneys worth plus more. Mouth watering Corned Beef that is second to none! I'm glad I know of the Bread Basket because now, I cannot see myself going to one of those sub shop chains or burger joints and knowingly pay almost as much for half the meal. The place is pretty quiet but this is one of those places where you go purely for the food! One of those "hidden gems" that gets easily overshadowed by the big guys. I would highly suggest you try this place if you have a chance. Definitely go the Corned Beef route.

FINALLY, THEY OPENED ONE UP IN ANN ARBOR... okay okay, it's on the border of A2 and Ypsi, but it's closer to me then before :) Now I don' t have to go far to enjoy the sandwich... an alternative to Zingerman's Empire and overpriced sandwich! I got the Reuben and added the combo - fries and a drink for $2.50 extra. While it took little longer to get the food, it was excellent, tasted the same and delicious just like the first time! They have this challenge... eat this huge sandwich in 20 minutes and you get a picture and a t-shirt (among other unknown factors after consuming the sandwich)... all for $25.99... I noticed three out of like 20 people completed the challenge and looking at the pictures they put up, not sure if I would do the challenge... I would have to be drunk or out of my mind!!! I could only eat half of my reuben, but hey, mid afternoon snack!! Swing by if you are in the area!!

This place is amazing. I am stupid with excitement that it is soo close to my place now. The Livonia location is where i discovered the amazing grub that is the Bread Basket close to my office. This could do serious damage to my healthy eating having a Bread Basket so close. Make sure you get the Uni Meat sandwhich and enjoy!

Was beyond excited when I learned this place was opening right near where I live. I used to go to the one in Oak Park years ago and still missed. I haven't been disappointed at all! The reuben is the best around and I have tried them all. I love their potato salad because it has the right amount of mustard. I get carry-out often and it's awesome. Given the amount of high quality meat you get, and certainly compared to Zingermans' prices the prices are not high here. I get the reuben every time and it's a good price for what you get. Quality, local ingredients are worth paying for. Sadly I cannot say anything good about how they handle their "delivery" service. 1. Only take cash 2. It ends at 8pm 3. Sometimes they send the delivery dude home 3 hours early without telling the girl working the phone. So she takes your order and totals it out and then says "oh, sorry about that." Really?! .

  • Cantonite P.

My wife and I came here a couple weeks ago on a great journey to find a reuben that wasn't made with lunchmeat corned beef. This was my suggestion and we found it to be perfect. While my previous five star review still stands for the most part, I had to downgrade one star because the meat quality and quantity has gone down as prices have gone up. What used to be the small size is now a regular price-- so for the same sandwich experience, we have to pay $10+ for the sandwich, which while not unreasonable, is slightly disappointing as we used to eat here for less than an Andrew Jackson. But you can't do much about food prices going up...at the very least they could give us more cole slaw on the sandwich... but anyways, still a good place for deli food overall and plenty of variety so that you never get tired of the Bread Basket... the price points are getting closer to Zingerman's territory, that's all.

Went here because I had heard they had good sandwiches. First of all the Sign is so bright pink and blurry that I couldn't tell where it was until I pulled into the parking lot and was able to read the decal on the door. The clerk made it seem like I was talking a foreign language and unless it was her first day it was really slow. My girlfriend thought the food was decent but I don't think I'd go out of my way to eat there again

I wish they would let you give half stars here on Yelp. I would give The Bread Basket a three and a half. This place is, as has been noted by previous reviewers, a no frills place to get sandwiches FILLED with meat. And my preference is the 17 1/2. Yet...and there is sadness in this yet... While the Bread Basket is capable of greatness, consistency is a huge area where this place sometimes falls flat on its face. I have had the best corned beef sandwich of my life here and I have had one so fatty I couldn't stomach it. And at $9 a sandwich...there is really no excuse for a let-down. I returned with some trepidation yesterday. And I got a pretty decent sandwich (the pickles have never let me down). So...I guess I give a recommendation and a warning. This place can be good...really good. But it can also go horribly wrong... ...in which case, let me say in advance: I told you so.

I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this place. But they failed me in a bad way. One of the things that drew me here was that they serve "new" pickles. Dark green, garlicky, barely brined, oh so tasty, I loved these as a kid and haven't been able to find them in ages. So when I walked in and saw they sell them by the jar, as well as selling their deli meats by the pound, I decided to get some "bulk" food, as they call it, and go home to enjoy. They get points for being overly accommodating to me. I cannot stand in line so when I saw there was one (albeit short) I sat down to wait my turn. The person behind the counter was understanding and helpful about this, keeping my time on my feet to the absolute minimum. I got some of their corned beef and their pastrami to go, and after being given a taste of their new pickles, I got two jars, too. When I got home I sampled the meats. The pastrami was a little fattier than I expected but still well done and tasty. The corned beef was not as tasty as I'd hoped but still good. And then I tried the pickles. The first jar opened and started fizzing and spilling everywhere. After I cleaned that up I noticed that the pickles were the grayer-green of pickles that have been pickled longer. Sure enough, they were missing that snap and taste of a proper new pickle. They also had that metallic, bitter taste that comes from things that have over-fermented [kim chee, for example, can also get like this]. When I pulled the second jar out of the bag to put it away I found it was wet and the paper bag it had been in soaked through, and the top bulging. Smartly moving over the sink this time, I opened it to let some air out and it fizzed and bubbled over for minutes. Later I looked online and found that this is a common problem when the jars are overfilled. (They had been packed to the top.) Worse because of the extra pressure, the "bulging" can mean bacteria has gotten in. I didn't get sick from the pickles I ate but I did throw the rest out. The jars were, I believe, $4 each, so I got an $8 lesson on buying pickles without checking the jars first. Blech.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'll begin by saying the original Bread Basket has been a family favorite for as long as I can remember! When I was a little girl we'd eat out every Friday and the Bread Basket was a constant in the rotation of restaurants. It was my personal choice, always!!! I have since moved to Canton and work in the Ann Arbor/Saline area. Low and behold, I was so excited to learn that there was a Bread Basket right up the street from my job. Several co-workers have since been and raved about the sandwiches. The only reason I didn't give a five star rating is because I have fond memories of the original owners and the sandwiches were larger when they were running things! Otherwise...the Ypsilanti Bread Basket is the BOMB!!!!!

Bread Basket Deli - Cnr. of Carpenter and Ellsworth Rd's. (worth a trek!) What a great option for those of us who don't drink the Zingerman's koolaid here in Washtenaw County and there are a growing number of us who are refusing to buy into the well-oiled machine of their P.R. My friends and I have been there about four times and ordered an assortment of deli sandwiches. I got some Chicken Liver to go - it was delicious and flavorful. The Beef & Barley soup tasted homemade and was packed with the taste of honest beef and vegetables. The staff were very informative and helpful each time. It's easy to miss the location of Bread Basket Deli, tucked away into the strip mall near the corner of Meijer and Showcase Cinema on Carpeneter Rd. but it WAS worth it. Sandwiches will run you around $8.00 - $9.00 depending on what you have. You can order party trays and I'm going to do just that during my weeks here in Ann Arbor to see what its like. Bread Basket is a welcome sight and I hope they keep the quality and service consistent. We deserve to have a real choice when it comes to deli's like this. The decor isin't much but the tables and floors and tidy and clean. The staff is friendly and it's relatively inexpensive. What's not to like?

The first visit was great right from the order taker to the food corn beef on rye with yellow mustard and mediocre pickles.Second visit the order taker couldn't get anything right, I ordered the same sandwich pretty simple right. Well after repeating my order twice off it went to the kitchen and 25 minutes later it arrived, by the way there where 3 other people in the place. Sandwich looked good nice lean corn beef with absolutely no taste it must have brined without spices. The bread was nice while it was warm, after cooling off it was just average. Will I return, maybe.

A friend of mind told me that Bread Basket Deli was opening up a location in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area. Well low and behold it has arrived. I guess it officially opened Jan. 11th 2010. My wife and I were very pleased with reuben sandwich. We split half a sandwich for lunch and hope to split the other half for dinner. Yes the sandwich is that big. You know the kind, that makes the pieces of bread look really silly when there stuffed with that much meat. I hear they make there own corn beef. Its thinly sliced and very flavorful. I'm going to try to post a picture of my sandwich, because in this case a picture is worth a thousand words. Expect to pay about 10 bucks a sandwich, but when you compare it to a 15 dollar zingermans sandwich, its a very good value. I'd say the sandwich is twice the size. You can get there sandwiches as singles, 3 deckers, or 4 deckers for a little extra cash if you want to make it more manageable. They lady behind the counter said they all come with the same amount of meat. They also have soups, salads, and desserts. I noticed that others raved about there soups at some of there other locations.

Yuck. My first time here and it was awful. Service was friendly and portions were generous, but that's the end of it. I ordered# 5, a roast beef sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. The meat was disgusting. It smelled and tasted simply repulsive. Guess I won't be coming back to try anything else. Oh yes, and sandwiches are pricey, ranging from $6-10. My small size was plenty big enough. Too bad it was so nasty!

deeee friggin licious. i got the #25, the veggie, which was piled high with delectable goodness. if you eat meat, this is the place to go too, because they put a ton of meat on their sandwiches. they also have unusual stuff like knish or tongue sandwich. i tried their german chocolate cake and it was AMAZING! staff is friendly too.

Good food but way over priced 5 dollars for a grilled cheese! 9 dollars for a sandwich will not be back!

Didn't realize this gem existed so close to home until we drove by a couple of weeks ago. We used to drive to the one on Plymouth Rd. To get our corned beef fix. We ate there last night and were not disappointed. The corned beef on rye and the united meat were delicious! Probably the only downside to eating there was our clothes smelled like a deep fried kitchen. Will probably do takeout next time.
