.El Dorado Is truly a hidden treasure.... I feel so awful that we missed out on this great little family owned place for the last 40 years! How did we NEVER hear about this "old school" steak house... ???? It's a place Like where Frank Sinatra and his "rat pack" would hang! We walked in...to hear a sweet musical 1man show-Kenny Vosh..... Singing and Strumming the guitar -a rendition of Neil Young "Harvest Moon".... We took a table right by the beautiful, soft music. Service was attentive and friendly. We ordered a craft of wine( is that what used to be called a " Caraffe" ? ) I don't know... But I am really loving the '70's live music ambiance . No TV, No Phones or IPads.... Refreshing! Our conversation is lively. The home made pierogis were perfect... With a bonus of perfectly fried onions on top. Hubby's rib eye was right on the Mark ! Crusty spice on the outside .... And a perfect medium rare! I ordered the all you can eat cod and great seasoned French fries. The fish was beer battered and Crispy perfection!! Did I say that the musician (Kenny) sang my favorite OBSCURE. Song.... "Hallaelueh" by Leonard Cohen.... Wow.... I am in Heaven!! Great meal, great entertainment, great date night! Great talking with other friendly people in this quaint little family restaurant. A party of 10 seemed to really be having a fun time, too. ( we have to remember this... For our next group party night) We will be back. The prices were also fair. Not cheap. We read that they used to serve Prime Rib on the week end.... Sounds like a great idea.

Truly is a hidden gem, while the decor is a little dated and could use a pick me up, the food surely makes up for it. The paprika chicken is delicious and definitely worth a try!

Pretty good food! We had the steaks and the cabbage rolls and all were scrumptious. The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. If I lived in the area I would definitely go back to try other dishes.

Overall this place has really good food. The steaks are always a great choice here. The potato pancakes and paprika chicken are also excellent. The service in here tends to be on the slow side but the food is worth the wait.

Eating here as I write this review. It is Tuesday night and I am the only one eating here. What a shame. The steak I am eating is great. Everything I have eaten in this place is excellent. They say they will be having prime rib on weekends soon. I think more people should spread the word about this restaurant.

Been coming here for years. I'm telling you, you want to order the chicken and dumplings. AMAZING. The fried chicken breaststeak is awesome, and the sauce that goes along with that and the dumplings is to die for. I love it, can't get the same thing anywhere else :)

This is not a Mexican restaurant like a previous reviewer said. It is an old fashioned steak house with a polish/hungarian flair if anything. This place is actually a well kept secret as they serve one of the best steaks you can get downriver at a very reasonable price. You can also get chicken paprikash, stuffed cabbage and I have heard they have an excellent hamburger. Haven't tried it as there are too many other goodies here. It is easy to miss this place so be on the lookout when you are headed north on Fort Street about a half of mile south of Eureka. The decor is nothing fancy and probably has not been remodeled in decades but don't let that stop you from some of the best food downriver. Don't miss this place.

I haven't been here in a number of years and i hope it is still around because I've got to give them this plug. This place is a hidden gem. No, it's not fine dining. It's one of those old fashioned family dining establishments with a diverse old fashioned menu delivered at a tolerable price. There just aren't many of these types of places left. It reminds me of the kind of place I would have gone to eat with my family as a kid, when eating out as no more than once a week if not once a month treat. I think there may be some peculiarities with their hours, so if you're going, call ahead and make sure.

I would have to agree with all the other reviewers for the "old" Eldorado. But of recent days, the son has taken over and those dumplings are water logged, the paprikas sauce is brown gravy, and the prices have skyrocketed and the quality plummeted. It hurts to even say those things because this was one of our favorite places. There was us and one other table of people. Next changes will be a closed sign on the door because of no business.

My boyfriend highly recommended this place. He previously had excellent prime rib there but they no longer serve it. He was very disappointed when we went there and prime rib was off the menue. We ended up having the best NY Strip steak I ever had. It was thick, seasoned to perfection and we topped it off with fresh sauteed mushrooms. Donna gave us some great service. I think she has been there a long time. Our advice is to bring the prime rib back on the weekends. My boyfriend really missed it but enjoyed his steak anyway. We had fried onion that rivaled the bloomin onion at Outback Steakhouse as an appetizer. We also for an additional charge had a tossed salad with some awesome blue cheese dressing. I think that anyone that enjoys a good steak better try this place instead of some of the chain steak houses. A shout out to the owners whose cousin is our mail lady. Please bring back the prime rib. It would make my boyfriend so happy!

Really great Mexican food. As authentic as it gets. Very intimate, not noisy. Owner is very friendly and attentive to customers.

This a great place to get ethnic food, not to many downriver, also they have been in business for years. They did get a facelift a few years back and most of the people have worked there for some time, to me that says a lot if you can keep the help. They do have a big steak for ones who don't care for stuffed cabbage or paprikash, so yes I will be going back.

This is truly a hidden gem. Hopefully more people will give it a try if they haven't been here recently. Delicious and cooked to order comfort food you can't get in other places. Loved the chicken paprika. Very friendly wait staff. Only downside is the decor (tables and chairs) are a bit outdated but the bar is beautiful and has some TV's. I couldn't believe there were so few tables occupied on a Friday night. Please give it a try so this old gem can keep its doors open. Take your mother, father and grandparents and friends who love authentic home cooked meals. They will love it. We loved it so much we made reservations for Mother's Day.

We were in the Wyandotte area and looking for a place to grab a bite and chose this place based on all of the glowing Yelp reviews. Maybe I'm missing something. The food I had wasn't bad. They has a homemade Italian dressing on the salad that was pretty good. I ordered the Polish combo. It had kielbasa, kraut, stuffed cabbage, and two pierogis. All of it was good, but nothing that stood out from a place like Polish Village. I think where it mostly lost points was service and decor. The service wasn't terrible, just a bit slow and inattentive. I would totally understand this if they were busy but including us there were 6 customers (3 tables) in the whole restaurant. When the waiter gave us our bread basket, he asked if we wanted butter with it. It was just your standard sealed butter packets. Why not just have a few in the basket assuming that the vast majority of customers will want it. It's not that it was some big deal, it was just kind of weird. I also got the sense that I knew what was in the dish I ordered better than the waiter did. The thing that really stood our was some of the decor choices. It looks like the owner came across a yellow old water-stained newspaper from the late 60's and saw some pages that had some auto dealership ads on them and thought" These would look great framed!". They then apparently had a young child cut the pages out of the paper with some safety scissors, bought a frame that was a little too big, and then put them in the frame with visible scotch tape. I'm usually not picky about decor. I'm all for a place with rough edges, but the newspaper pages were just puzzling.

Very tasty little restaurant we stumbled upon. Breaded pork chop and frog legs were delicious. I had higher hopes for the perogies but the rest was very good. Sydney was super attentive and a great server!
