I hadn't been to a Steak'n Shake in years. I was out of town and it was the only place open that late. I was kind of bummed out that I had to eat there, but it ended up being good food. I got the portobello and Swiss burger with a salted pretzel & caramel jr. sized shake. The service and the food were both good. There was a huge group of high school kids there, the waitress looked frazzled. I left a $10 tip (that was more than my bill, but I was afraid the kids wouldn't tip her well, so I hope my tip helped her a bit.) I will definitely go there again.

Okay. I'm really done with this place. The service is terrible. I ordered my usual chili 5 way and when I got it, it was the smallest portion I'd ever seen. I've been getting that on a frequent basis for the past 10 years and it has been double the size. I mentioned it to the waitress, and she said that the size it's supposed to be. Also, We ordered our food right away, when the waitress asked for our drinks, hoping to get it quicker. It took even longer than I've ever expected. I didn't get my shake until about 10 minutes after I was done with my meal. This place sucks.

We go for the milkshakes. I think they are very tasty. Thick and served with a spoon. I believe it is a good value for the amount given. We used the drive thru and didn't have any problems.

I keep going back here because I like the food, but every time I go I am disappointed. There are so many problems with the service employees give to customers it's too many to list. They need new management or someone who can manage to train their employees to at least refill a drink.

Awful experience! Waiter never checked on us, drinks stayed empty the entire time (not a single refill). We had to go to the counter and ask go our bill. Your 0.26 was higher than it should have been. Lucky for you I like round numbers.

I really enjoy their burgers, so many different kind. I Love their guac burger, western burger and they have geat chicken sandwiches. The fries ugggh could use some help shoestring not great although they're seasoning they sell by the bottle does help to spice them up, that being said fries not that important to me. It is a full service sit down type place reminiscent of a 50's dinner. Kinda cool my kids love they're milkshakes and they do half price early afternoon special on shakes. The prices are amazing and coupons are sent with good savings. A great family value for families on a budget. All in all as far as I am concerned one of the best east coast chains comparing burgers almost as good as In-n-out with a high definition. They also have decent chili which can be substituted for fries with a slight upcharge. Cute place good burgers and shakes. Nostalgic 50 type little dinner= A thumbs up!

Sadly we ordered 2 number 1 combos large with Coke, and a Steak burger....our fries were still FROZEN when we finally got them, this was after several minutes of trying to place the order because the delivery semitrailer truck was stuck in low grinding gears and honking the whole time. A very bad experience I hope nobody has to repeat. As long as you don't want good food and good service it's a great place to go.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Web order wasn't ready...or even on their radar. They forgot two items in the order after we re-ordered, and we had to go in again. Got home, and the burger was badly constructed with so much garlic sauce that it was inedible, and they forgot the cheese. Sadly enough, the best thing in the bag was a side salad. I won't be back to this location.

Ugh. Why do I keep going here? Why does anyone keep going here? They are always busy. Service is always an issue. We were seated relatively quickly, but it took a long time for us to get greeted. We gave drink and food order at the same time. We received our meals before our salad/soup and we had our whole meal before I got my shake. I am a sucker for punishment. Their food is good and I keep going back. Curse the delicious salted carmel pretzel shake!

The food is pretty good and the prices are great, however, everytime I visit this location the service is terrible. I visited yesterday for lunch with my husband, our 15 month old daughter, and my parents. Once we were seated it took our waitress 15 minutes before she even came to offer us drinks. The entire time we were there that was how it went. The waitress was friendly and kept apologizing but the service was still extremely slow. Slow at bringing our food, slow at bringing refills, slow at bringing our check.

Not even my delicious Frisco Melt could save this review! Where do I start? I know that this is just a fast food burger joint, but oh my.. My grandmother wanted Steak and Shake for a late lunch, however I had a few errands to run before I would give her the food she requested so I placed an online order so that I could pick it up for her later..that is when the chaos ensued. I got there about 20 minutes after my order was supposed to ready, and it wasn't. Then my account was charged twice, until the manager cleared the second transaction, and also upon my approaching the counter the employees shouted among themselves "NOT IT!", now let me tell you, that made me feel special. So before I even left they were trying to get me out the door without even giving me the shake I purchased. Fast forward a few minutes, and after we got the food, and I let my grandma attempt to enjoy her food she then realized that her burger had no cheese, and her fries were cold. Cheers Steak and Shake! Even for a fast food joint you fail!

I've never had good service at this Steak N Shake. My last experience was no different than all the rest. I was seated by a hostess and studied the menu for about 5 minutes. I then closed my menu to signal to whoever my waitress was that I was ready to order. After looking around like a lost child in a WalMart, i resorted to just reading the news on my cell phone for a few minutes. Finally, a waitress came over to me. I ordered my fancy burger and fries and went back to my cell phone. The food took about 15 minutes to get to me. I thought I remembered food taking less time there... They have a drive-thru, after all. Whatever. My food was alright. I love their fries... mmm shoestrings, so delicious. The burger patty itself was pretty tasteless but the cheddar cheese melted on top was awesome. It was average for Steak N Shake. My biggest annoyance was sitting at my table for about 5-10 minutes after I was done with my plate at the edge of the table. Obviously, in restaurant manners, this means I'm done and want my bill. After waiting long enough, I just got up and went to the cashier stand without my bill. The waitress came over and apologized, saying she had the bill and was about to bring it... Too late, I had somewhere to be in 15 minutes and couldn't wait any longer. Steak N Shake. Mediocre food with even worse service!
