Good food, lots of TVs to catch any sport the potato Beer soup was pretty good but the Mr Cs burger was great and the home made potato chips darn good too, had the onion rings as an app and the breading was real good

I would have absolutely loved this place if the waitress was more attentive and the kitchen was faster at preparing meals. We were there on a Monday night. There was literally no one else in the restaurant except for two guys at the bar. We were warmly greeted and sat immediately. I love the look and feel of this place. It had that mountain lodge feel, with the all wood interior, etc. The food was great and very reasonably priced. I had a burger and it was delicious. But the food took about 25 minutes to arrive. I'd understand if the place was packed, but it was desolate. And it took us a while to flag down our waitress at the end of our meals to get the check. If this places steps up its service and food times it will be successful.

Can I say this place is awesome. The beef brisket sandwich is one of the best I've had. The service is spectacular. I would recommend making a stop here for lunch and a nice cold local brew.

Don't. Just don't. We "tried" this place three times. Each time worse than the one before it. We live close by and options are limited. The first time there were fruit flies IN my salad. Nope. The second time, I stuck with dessert and it was ok, but service was awful, which made no sense because we were the only people in there. The last time we had about ten people with us as a family gathering. We needed a place that could accommodate our group and I knew they wouldn't be busy near the casino. My dessert (again, I wasn't going to take a chance) came out solid. Like a rock. It was supposed to be cake. One person in the group was satisfied with her meal. One. It took us more than two hours to eat (we were the only people in there) and when they took my dessert off the bill they took it off of everyone's bills. Uh??! It's a big joke now. We will be trying to decide where to go for dinner and say, "how about Mr. C's?" and then laugh. I even saw my uncle recently and he said, "oh, that place where the meal was horrible?" Try it if you'd like, we kept hoping it would improve but over 6 months it never did.

Stopped in for dinner - Blue Gill dinner, one piece had a fishy taste but other than that, very good along with an order of the Portobello mushrooms which were excellent.

I haven't been in this place in a while. I am pleasantly surprised. They have live music, there is a good crowd. The menu has been updated and the food is good. Fairly good beer selection. Most standards in bottles and some good local micros mixed in on tap. The bar area is nice, a few TVs for you to watch whatever you want. Come on in and give CJs a try. Enjoy!

Had great service...if you love chicken wings, these are as good as it gets! We also had the brisket- can't miss!

Great place to stop. The building is nice and clean and the staff is very friendly! Look forward to stopping here when we are working in the area.

Thought I would give a second chance. Or third. Waiter approach with a drink request. Asked got a White wine was out. Thought server was energetic and was attentive. Ordered a flat bread pizza. Was almost 30 min. Pizza OK. Just was not impressive at all. Owner of bar sat drinking and flirty with bartender.

Been a few times and haven't been impressed with service or food. To clarify though I was there very early on after opening the first time but the second time was midday on Saturday after Iceman and the service was still a little slow and food was mediocre. I got back on here to see if things have improved, it seems things are somewhat better I think I will give it one more chance??

Great service, atmosphere, food and prices! Will be visiting again!!! Beef brisket was tasty and the mashed potatoes were a perfect compliment. Portion was large enough to fill us both. The salmon pate was delicious and was a great value for the amount of food. With a yelp check in we got a free carrot cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I have had better carrot cake but it was still pretty good. Service from Amanda was very attentive and the appetizer and entree came out very fast. The beer selection was diverse with plenty of local selections and your usual variety of domestic and imports. Full service bar. Lots of nice TVs to catch a peek of your team. Decor was a nice northern MI ambiance and a local musician was playing a wide selection of genre hits. Very glad to see the building in use again and to have a decent sit down relaxed restaurant closer to Kalkaska. Keep it up!

Very nice, warm, cozy, up north, cabin-like atmosphere. Menu could have more items, the choices seem somewhat limited. Looks like they have nice nightly specials, though. The service was good, Barb was out server. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. My drowned beef sandwich was excellent! The horseradish sauce on it gave it a great kick. Fries were good. My husband had a double order of the kids chicken tenders because they did not have an adult option. He said the chicken seemed processed, didn't taste very good. The barbecue dipping sauce was very thin/runny and tasted nothing like barbecue sauce when I tried it. It was very sweet. My mother-in-law had the tips of meat (not sure exactly what it is called) over a piece of bread. She said the meat was excellent, but the bread was very soggy and didn't "smell" good, She said it had a weird smell coming from it. Will definitely be going back. Would love to try the entrees, but they seem pretty pricy for the portion sizes you receive. Will try them when they are on special

I decided to check it out, as they are relatively new I'm the local market. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was very well prepared and properly seasoned. Just because I love wings, I tried theirs and was impressed. Made in-house, not breaded, great house made hot sauce...try the dry rub with a side of their sauce. Not just a pub, they are a very good restaurant.

Had a wonderful experience at this place. Was not sure what to expect but was beyond impressed! The restaurant alone was clean, spacious and very comfortable. But above all the food was so delicious! Probably the best meal I have had in a long time in the traverse area! I would recommend this to anyone! And the prices as well are great, they have a happy hour from 3-7 and the deals are amazing!! On the way you can stop at hoxies or the casino and then enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner!

We ate here late Saturday night at 4:00, our first time. Prior to going we checked out their website/menu to get an idea of the food and what to order. I LOVE bloody Mary's and seeing how they serve one up on their website with all the goodies on top of the drink, olive, ham, cheese, and shrimp.... inspired me to go....well, nothing worse than NOT getting what is advertised/pictured on a restaurants website!!!! Ugh.... I ordered their bloody Mary and got a piece of sausage and a whole jalapeno sprinkled with inedible peppercorns on top of the pepper and also in the drink which sank to the bottom... As I sipped through the straw, I was spitting out the peppercorns...Who eats whole peppercorns? I questioned the jalapeno and the waitress said it was stuffed with Gorgonzola....which I love...so I thought...fine, at least I can eat the inside.......cut into it, its empty! Questioned the "empty" jalapeno....she's puzzled...and goes to question the bartender, returns and tells me that she was sorry but stuffed jalapenos are served on another drink....her mistake....in my waitressing years, in addition to admitting to my mistake, I would have brought the customer that stuffed jalapeno, she did not....bad start....I ordered the Haddock sandwich with additional cost of a side of fries ...11.49. Hubby ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich with additional cost of onion rings, 11.49. ...When our meals came, the buns were no more than 3 inches in diameter. My haddock was very good, great light breading but flavorless! No salt added to the batter... The tartar sauce was spicy/hot....I personally didn't mind it because there was not much...any more would have been overpowering. Should be served on the side or choice given, regular/spicy. Tomato slices served were quarter size and old. My fresh cut fries with skins on. Lots of skin ends and about 3 tablespoons of bottom of the basket burnt pieces....not appealing... Hubbies sandwich, not much brisket maybe 3 ounces......he could have eaten two....he was not impressed. His onion rings, same batter as the Haddock....again, good rings but flavorless and served about 6-7 medium to small rings.... 11.49 for our meals was overpriced to say the least. Total was 36.00 without tip.......with tip 42 dollars.... He had two beers, me my bloody Mary. Overpriced for 2 mediocre sandwiches/fries and 3 drinks.... ....nice clean place....overpriced, will not return....

Excellent food! I had the Mac & Cheese which was the best I've had! my husband had the Beer Braised Chicken which had a lot of flavor. A very unique dish and I mean that in a very good way. There were many items on the menu that I would love to try if we ever get back up here. Service was a little disappointing. our server was more interested in cleaning up so she could get out than taking care of us. I would definitely recommend Mr C's just don't go in 45 minutes before they close! We didn't get to use our free dessert for checking in because it took so long to get served and to get our bill we didn't want to see how much longer it would take to get a dessert.

Nice service and atmosphere. Beef vegtable soup and burger - good! Onion rings a little greasy. Apple crisp large and delicious and free for checking in!

Nice atmosphere and good food. Extremely slooooow service.... Took 30 minutes to get an appetizer and over 50 minutes to get our food. Very disappointing!

I've been to Mr. C's twice now, and both times have been a pleasant experience. The ambiance is nice, the food is ok and on the pricey side. The first time I was there, there was a trainee server who did an ok job. You could tell it was her first week on the job so I didn't hold any of that against the restaurant. I ordered one of the flatbreads, and I wasn't impressed. It had some kind of Drambuie (sp?) dijon sauce on it, but it overwhelmed the flavor of everything else and not in a good way. It was dry. I took the leftovers home but I didn't eat them. It became dog food. The second time I went, I sat at the bar. The bartender was great. She was very friendly and attentive. They offer free wi-fi, which is a bonus. They have nice TV's too. It was happy hour and we ordered a Battle Creek pizza. It was delicious. The beer was nice & cold, and at happy hour pricing it was $1 off. There is a small outdoor dining patio and it's really nice with a firepit and everything. I haven't been out there yet, but the only thing I could imagine people complaining about is the noise off of M-72. I'll go back because it's the only nicer dinner restaurants outside of the casino in Williamsburg area, but it's not my favorite pick due to the value.
