French dip is the goodness. 3 other ppl eating and not a bad bite to be had. Really nice outdoor dining area and just all n all a must stop.

1st time dining here...came in for lunch. I just moved from Florida and coming from a busy town with hundreds of different restaurants, this place is AMAZING!!!! And so far tops all the sandwich shops I've been to back home... Will be back again and possibly my new favorite new place to eat as I consider myself a foodie. My husband is from Whitehall and remembers coming here long before he moved to Florida... He loves the place as well!

Love, love, love Pekadill's! And John is so nice and welcoming. We are here every year for our summer vacation. We used to just come for the ice cream, but quickly realized the food is fabulous. We've been here for a week and been to Pekadill's at least 4 times now. Make sure to come for Fri/Sat night BBQ chicken and ribs

This place is really good. I was bummed that their ice cream wasn't in yet, but their fantastic sandwiches more than made up for it. My hubby had the pot roast sandwich, which when I had a bite wished I had gotten. My tuna was one of the best tuna sandwiches I've ever had. The wheat bread was think, soft and fresh and the tuna was plentiful covered in lettuce. Their hot apples are to die for. We hope to get back in the summer and try their ice cream. Highly recommended.

Yum. I just want to personally thank the reviewers who have gone down this road before us. You did us right! The hubs and I were in the area to celebrate our anniversary. Being completely unfamiliar with the area, I relied solely on Yelp for our food consumption. You guys were spot on with this place. We walked in to this incredibly cute and quaint sandwich and malt shop, and I knew the food was going to be good. They don't spend this much time making an adorable atmosphere only to have crappy food. I ordered a grilled cheese and chili and the hubs ordered a ham and swiss. Everything was out of this world good. The chili was perfectly spiced and not over-beaned, and the sandwiches were grilled to where the cheese is just gooey enough. Unfortunately we stuffed ourselves to the point where we couldn't enjoy their ice cream, but that looked good too. The hubs said if we lived in the area he would gain about 1000lbs just from this place, and would enjoy every minute.

My wife and I stopped in for ice cream because of the high ratings and reviews from YELP. This place is amazing. The back garden area is beautiful. Can't think of a better place to sit and relax with family on a warm summer day.

I was brought here by a friend who's been coming here for years - her all-time favorite sandwich shop. My sandwich was perfect. The whole wheat bread was light, airy and just a bit toasty on the edges - mmm! Generous portions of ham and turkey, the exact right amount of mayo...Yum-Oh! The inside of the restaurant is retro and very cool, including photos from the past. We sat outside in the garden - it is beautiful and relaxing.

Dece food but great service! I had the SW chicken wrap: first couple bites were the best and then it started to get a little soggy but still ate the whole thing! The garden patio is just the most fabulous esp because the tables are separated the perfect amount from each other. I had the Cole slaw, I loved that it wasn't creamy. Great dill flavor Mom had chicken caesar wrap and added avocado, liked it, not loved Friend, who introduced us to pekadill's and had eaten here before, had the chicken salad wrap and took half home Sister had the super salad (the turkey Cobb but twice the size) she lovedd it! We wanted to go back for the ice cream since that's what greets you in the store front but we never made it. I hope you get to try that part of this place!! Oh and we had a pickle, really good flavor, could've been a bit crunchier:/ nothing beats a claussen.

Yummy soups and salads. I look forward to Tuesday's when they have Butternut Squash bisque. Please consider chopping the lettuce into smaller pieces in your salads, or provide a knife for carry-out or catering.

Go here! We were just passing through and decided to try Pekadill's. We both tried a cup of the chicken dumpling soup and agreed that it was very good, almost as good as my granny used to make. They have a good sandwich selection/salads/soups/hotdogs along with ice creams that looked wonderful. The half sandwich with the soup was great on a cold day and more than enough food. Service is deli style, order at the counter get your food and pay at the end. Two more dining areas at the back one with a good toasty stove. Staff is friendly and the place is kept clean I will be adding this place to our stop when traveling north. We almost settled for a place closer to the middle of town, I'm so glad we stuck it out and ended up at this place. I gave them 4 stars because it is very good I reserve 5 stars for exceptional.

Whenever I think about "Old Tymey" ice cream goodness, my mental default is set to "Pekadill's." This place is SERIOUSLY tasty - so many great flavors in a genuine old ice cream parlor, complete with a wide array of candy toppings and neat-o keen period furniture. How to compare it? Have you ever seen a movie like "It's a Wonderful Life," set in a sleepy town like Bedford Falls? Well, Whitehall may not be QUITE as quaint, (whoa...unintentional and unfortunate alliteration, that!)but it still hosts amazingly authentic places like Pekadill's. Seriously, do NOT miss this place...just don't. I mean, I never tested it, but I'm pretty sure there's even a law against missing it. ...and if there's not, there should be!

We searched yelp to find a good lunch spot in the area to enjoy on our way north to a park on the lake. Pekadill's sounded promising and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was even better than we expected. The building itself is quaint and attractive. The front is decked out like a vintage ice cream parlor and serves West Michigan's own Hudsonville ice cream. The sandwich menu is fairly extensive, with nearly 40 sandwiches and several salad and soup options. Since it was a beautiful day, we decided to skip the indoor dining rooms and head out back to the patio. We were delighted to find a beautiful and interesting garden with tables tucked here and there. After a short wait our food arrived at our table, and it was delicious. Our lunch companions made several comments about the lovely spot and the great tasting food. Both the breads and fillings were good quality, though the bagged chip selection was a little underwhelming. As an alternative, Pekadill's offers "hot apples" on the side, which we're interested in trying on a cooler day. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

Pekadill's is a great little old fashioned deli in the beautiful, small Lake Michigan resort town of White Hall, MI. They have great sandwiches and ice cream, and a wonderful garden patio area for outside dining. My wife used to eat here as a child in the early 1990s while in dock on boating trips. She says nothing has changed, and when you're there it does feel a bit like going back in time.

We found Pekadill's years ago, and it's now a must-visit each year as we return on vacation. Their soups and breads are top-notch- everything super fresh. The outdoor garden and dining area is lush, and full of shady spots to wait for your order to be brought to you. Interestingly, our family has not skipped a beat here as the kids have progressed from hot dogs to cool sandwiches with alfalfa sprouts. The one constant has been the ice cream, which is as good as noted in other reviews. There is also a sugar-free option and sherbet, for those who prefer.

I was in the area on vacation and stumbled across Pekadill's in a local advertisement, so I took the family there for lunch. It was an absolutely perfect lunch experience. The sandwich selection is dizzying, but I finally picked one along with some coleslaw. Perhaps that style of coleslaw is regional, but I've never seen anything like it. In any case, it was very good. I loved how the cabbage was shredded into fine little strips. I really enjoyed it. The sandwich (the #9 for those keeping track) was awesome as well. The bread was soft and wonderful, the deli meat was tasty, and the veggies were fresh. Oh, and the lettuce was cut into super thin little strips that just take the sandwich to the next level. I don't know why that makes it better, but it does. Believe me. I had the whole sandwich, which in retrospect was almost too much food for me. It was around $6.95 for the whole sandwich and a side, which is a fair price for the quality and quantity I got. I could have been pleasantly full with the half sandwich which was (I think) $4.95. That seems really reasonable to me. My wife wife had a sandwich on a croissant, and she thought hers was excellent too. Also, I should mention the kids menu is very nice with options like hot dogs and toasted cheese sandwiches, which come with a side and a drink, and the kicker is that the kids combos are only three bucks and change. The icing on the cake is that Pekadill's has great ice cream too. The kids had the "real" bubble gum ice cream that most places don't carry: the kind that has actual gum in the ice cream. I had some sugar-free butter pecan; it was nice to see they had some sugar free options. I can't forget to mention the really friendly service (everyone was so helpful!) and great atmosphere (vintage ice cream shop) too. And finally, it is always a bonus to find a place that offers a pleasant outdoor dining environment when you're in the mood to dine under the open sky. I can't say enough about this place. Great food, great service, and great atmosphere. My only complaint is that I live 4 hours away.

We make a "girls' day out" trip to Pekadill's when they open in the spring. Soups/salads/sandwiches are wonderfully fresh. You order at a cafeteria-style line; your food is brought to you by friendly wait staff. If it's a nice day, sit out back in their garden area. Spend the rest of your day in Whitehall in area shops and don't miss the world's biggest anchor. :-)

What a great place! The sandwiches were wonderful. The ice cream is Hudsonville so, of course, it's good. The garden out back is a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the food. They have a gluten free bun they can use to make any of their sandwiches, and it's so good you don't feel like you're "settling" for gluten free. Yum!

Very cute place with a retro feel. Sandwiches were great and I'm pretty picky with food. My husband and I shared the French dip and the sueben. Both were good but the sueben was better. Soft French bread and the dill in the coleslaw was a nice surprise. They were friendly and clean. There was also a beautiful garden out back but it was raining so we didn't sit back there. I am definitely glad we came and I'd recommend it to anyone.
