Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Buffet, along with the menu items, are very satisfying. Buffet is a little small. Prices are average.

Meh. I've experienced better is correct... We headed here after Mi's Adventure because the kids were starved for an all you can eat. The food was ok. Hot and sour soup is good but I like it sour. The selection was pretty good. The waitstaff was prompt considering she was the only one waiting. There were 6 tables full of people at 7:30 on a Thursday. Oooo, Lo Mein! The kids love that. Well, apparently, if they are within an hour of closing, they aren't going to restock the buffet. We emptied it out. Good for them, but the kids were a bit hungry still. Inside was a little sketch. Price was ok (10 bucks for dinner). I would have driven into Muskegon and found another place had I known. Keep driving.

We ordered a couple meals to try there. When we brought it home, couldn't tell what was what. All was covered in a greasy orangish red sauce that tasted like ketchup and Siracha mixed together. Whichever one was The bean curd with Szechuan didn't have a bean curd! Clearly frozen veggies since some were still frozen while the others were over cooked. There is no to describe the taste. One of the worst foods I have ever tried! Oh, also, they don't accept any cards. Cash only. Wish they would have mentioned that when I placed my order over the phone.

No good. We were told they stayed open till 9:30. Show up at 8 and said they were closing.

Decent quality for a small town Chinese restaurant. This is not the Chinese/Thai that you would find in a larger metropolitan area, so don't go in with that attitude. What you will get is food that is hot, fast, tasty and reasonable priced! We get take-out on a regular basis.

Hands down one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. I'm going to put the "food" item names in quotations for this review because everything we ate barely resembled food. The "fried rice" appeared to be heated up from a frozen mix - probably microwaved - texture and smell were just terrible. "Crab Rangoon" were not fried, but clearly pre-processed and microwaved as well, and I have no idea what the filling was made of. "Orange Chicken" consisted of random mysterious pieces of "meat" covered in a strange ketchup-like sauce. The food was just awful - I can't stress that enough - and way overpriced, especially considering the blatant lack of quality. My guess is this place is fully aware they are the only Chinese food option in town and have no problem suckering unsuspecting tourist like us into purchasing their low-grade pre-processed slop - clearly they just don't give a sh*t. I felt bad that I served this to my children and felt robbed that I paid what I did for such a horrible meal. The owner of this place should be ashamed to serve what they do to not only visitors like us, but to the residents of the community they do business in. I'm begging you, dear reader: DO NOT EAT HERE.

I wanted to love Chen's. When my boyfriend and I were in town last weekend we saw "Chinese & Thai buffet" and were very excited - Chinese for him and Thai for me. Or maybe not. The only "Thai" food offered was overcooked satay. Almost everything else was mediocre Chinese food. It wasn't all bad, though. Our server was very friendly and attentive, a couple of the dishes were worth going up for seconds, and the price for the lunch buffet was very reasonable.

Here is the deal folks........ Chen's has a 7 day week all you can eat buffet and one cold and snowy night my family decided we were giong to try it out. In en effort not to be mean or hurtful I will just say you should perhaps look for other places to eat when in Whitehall or Montague, MI. I would have a hard time coming back if they paid me.

Our family has been going to Chen's for years. I recently returned after 11 years away to see a new spiffy paint job on the interior and a new sign out side. Chen's has a buffet that has a selection of a bit of everything off the menu. They also have a soft serve machine. I think for the location Chen's has ok food but after living in the Bay Area I have to admit to having found better chinese food since moving away. Its a good location for family and friends to get together for any occasion.

Not a ton to eat in Montague/ Whitehall. We wanted to give this a try although we weren't expecting great things. 3 of us had the buffet and 2 ordered off the menu. The soup in the buffet was pretty good and the egg rolls and crab Rangoon were not bad. That was pretty much everything good in the Buffet. The chicken was way too fried and the sauce was too heavy. The low mein had hardly any flavor and the fried rice had a few peas but nothing else. Price for the buffet was just under $9 for dinner. One ordered chicken fried rice which looked average to under average but had a hair mixed in the dish. Another one of us ordered the Chicken Pad Thai which actually looked pretty good. Don't think I will be going back but might be OK if your looking to eat a lot of food.
