Drove by this place several times and one day was looking for somewhere to have breakfast. When I drove by, the parking lot was crowded so I did a turn and went back. When I sat down, I noticed the woman next to me was having hash browns with ONIONS. Yum! The food was REALLY good and another surprise was the price. If you get there before 11 a.m., it's $1.99 for the regular - which mine was. 2 eggs, hash browns with ONIONS, 4 link sausage and toast and coffee. What's not to like?

This is a regular breakfast spot for my husband and I. Food is good, prices are good, staff are great! So friendly. The $1.99 breakfast can't be beat. Clean, homey atmosphere. Fyi- They do not take American express.

Staff Is Always Friendly Wife and I go for the Fish on Friday's . Mac and cheese is like Moms Home made as is everything there. They Have a Prime rib dinner for 11.99 on Fridays Haven't tried it yet (Lent) but can't wait to try . Love the place. Food is good for the Money. Just a Family restaurant but a lot better than the surrounding coney Islands and Family restaurants. Highly recommend

I have been eating in this restaurant for quite some time now, it never ceases to amaze me how they can do what they do. They serve an excellent breakfast, lots of food to eat for such an inexpensive price. $1.99, yes you heard me correct a dollar 99. Not only is the food good, but the service is impeccable. If you're in a hurry in the morning to go somewhere but yet need time for breakfast this is the place you need to go . The waitress their treat you like your family, you even get a big hug on your way in and a rub on the back as you leave. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for a family style restaurant to eat. It may not be a five star restaurant but the food is really great and the service is even better. If you are a veteran, which I am, they even acknowledge it from time to time, by buying you a breakfast and thanking you for your service. What more could a customer asked for....

I keep telling myself that this is the last time I'm coming here for carryout. And trust me, this IS the last time I'm coming here. Why do I come to this Sysco truck of a restaurant? It's close to home. That's it. The sad thing is, there's nearly a buhzillion diners in the immediate area. I just paid $10 for a side order of silver-dollar pancakes, a cheeseburger, and a soda. I got the pancakes for one of my kids, who had the day off of school, and the burger for myself. The pancakes were "meh", according to my kid. The burger was garbage. I think it may have been made of rubber. Ditto for the cheese and the bun. But the biggest kick in the teeth was that this tripe cost me $10. When I grumbled about the price, the waitress that took my order said "you said you didn't want fries. We don't sell just a cheeseburger" as she walked away from me. 1. Real professional response. 2. What restaurant doesn't sell just a burger???? In all, stay away from this joint. It's terrible. There's only one waitress there that's worth a damn. And the "gem" of a waitress I dealt with definitely wasn't her. My past visits were no better. Flavorless food, all day everyday. There is NOTHING worth coming here for. N-O-T-H-I-N-G.

Westland Diner has a great $2.99 breakfast special. The food is good, nothing too fancy. The servers are nice and attentive. I'd like to give them a 3.5 if I could. I've actualy only eaten breakfast so far. Maybe soon I'll branch out and try a lunch or dinner entre!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I wanted to be surprised. I wanted a nice dining experience. *Sigh* I wanted there to be a good independent place near my house. Every restaurant in Westland that calls itself a "Family" place seems to operate from the same manual of mediocrity. WFD is no exception. I just can't stand that places like this think you can make one or two things homemade and get the rest from GFS and call it good. You could tell that someone was just cooking in the back....no one here cared if you had a great dining experience or thought the food was tasty. Oh the food. It tasted exactly like bad cafeteria food- Pre-frozen gunk with some bottled sauces and condiments on it. For some reason, the majority of Westlanders think that this kind of place is ok. They are filled with clusters of older women and older couples eating the fish and chips special. There is also the typical "we'll eat anything fried" group of younger people. Neither of these groups seem to want to demand anything better for our city. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for service. Food took forever to get to us, but we were sitting right by the kitchen, so I know it was their fault, not the servers. She was the only one working, and did a good job of keeping our water filled, etc. While the people inside are friendly, the idea has gone really wrong. I honestly believe that you shouldn't open a restaurant if you don't have a passion for sharing really good food with people. It seems whomever opened this place either wanted to make a quick buck, or didn't have any other options. I suppose I will keep hoping for something original in my hometown.
