One of my favorite restaurants! Unfortunately I don't get here as much as I would like anymore since we moved to north Oakland County. There are no locations out this way and we have to drive at least thirty minutes to get to one but it is still well worth it if we have the time. Believe me there are plenty of (overpriced) steak houses near us. Don't get me wrong...I don't mind paying for a great meal as long as it tastes wonderful and comes with great service. Unfortunately I have found we usually do not get what we pay for in food or in service. Texas Roadhouse is never a disappointment. The food is fabulous. I usually get the Ribeye and Rib combo even though I can never eat it all because they are both so delicious and I can't decide between the two. Steak is always cooked perfectly and the ribs fall off the bone. Mash potatoes are my favorite and I love the side salad and rolls. Never had a dessert...always too stuffed! My husband usually always gets steak...sometimes with the ribs too but sometimes has the shrimp or fish. Always good!! We always use the call ahead seating so we never wait more than a few minutes. I noticed someone mentioned plastic plates in a previous review. I have not eaten on a plastic plate at Roadhouse so I don't understand this. This place is the best!!!

It is a Texas Roadhouse. A three star rating is average. So this is what they are getting. It is exactly what you would expect from a corporate owned restaurant. They make a decent steak. The service is always average. I do enjoy the peanuts on every table.

Same as the other reviews: It's a corporate run place that attempts a TX vibe. Steaks are ok, throwing peanuts helps pass the time while you wait for your food. Saltgrass is better if you can get to one.

This is by far my favorite restaurant when I want steak. Excellent service, consistently excellent food, great portion sizes and great prices.

I had eaten here a few years ago and hadn't been back since....no reason really, except that I remembered the Taylor location had a very loooooong wait and I didn't want to go through that again. What I also remembered, my friends, is that their menu boasted "fall off the bone" ribs which truly did have meat falling off the bone. So, I gave it another whirl. Ordered the ribs, ate the fresh rolls and cinnamon butter while we waited. The half-rack that arrived in front of me was a bit tough to pull apart, or even cut through in the meaty cracks between the bones. I pried a meat chunk off of the end and it was very dry and not too enjoyable. Decision time. To whine or not to whine? When making a decision on whether or not to send anything back at any restaurant, one must consider this....scenes from the movie "Waiting" started running through my head. I didn't want my plate returning with any special "guacamole" or "fromunda cheese". The waitress came by to check on us and, through beads of sweat, I complained as politely as possible that the ribs were a bit dry. She apologetically removed the plate. I ate my baked potato side and waited. Within a few minutes, the manager arrived with a fresh plate of ribs and a second backed potato, apologizing profusely. The second set of ribs were delicious, most of which I had to take home. These were the fall-off-the-bone ribs I remembered. They made a great lunch the next day. I was impressed with their quick willingness to correct my bad ribs, and also that I tasted nothing foreign or scary on the second plate.

My favorite steak house. They aren't perfect and people can always make mistakes. What's really impressive beyond their great food is the desire to provide great customer service. On our last visit I didn't care for something on my plate. The waitress noticed it wasn't eaten and asked about it. I told her I just care for it so she removed it from my bill and sent the manager over. I wasn't complaining at all but they wanted to make sure we left happy. So nice!

I hate to post a disappointed review, just because we were disappointed this last time we went there - last night, but the best steak they have on the menu is the bone in ribeye, and this was the first time we've ordered it - and it was really gristly - I mean we all leaned over and tried to cut it just to see after she said it was hard to cut - and really, it was. On the other hand, my steak was fine, the kids full rack of ribs were good, everything else was OK and the service was great - though there was some disconnect when we sent the gristle steak back, ehhh, I am probably more upset because it was a birthday dinner (on the QT - our 15 year old was adamant he didn't want the attention) and we dine here about once a month, sometimes also for lunch - we also hit the Logans nearby and the Hibachi Grill, so maybe we'll try to trend those ways more often. I always feel bad when we have to send something back - I was a waiter in college myself - but I felt uncomfortable tonight. Not a great experience - it wasn't our fault the steak was gristly. Also - suggestion, the baked potatoes should come with more butter if they are ordered with butter only, though I'm a sour cream man myself and had no complaints in that regard.

I give them 5 stars on customer service alone. I went in one day, and I'm not sure if the waiter misheard me, but I asked for a medium-rare New York strip. It came out medium. When I complained, they gave my husband and I free dessert, took off the price of the steak, and then gave us a 30 dollar gift certificate for the next time we went out. It wasn't like it was even bad food! It just wasn't what I ordered. Incredible service... just like being in, well, Texas.

Probably some of the best baby back ribs I've had. The flavor was tantalizing while the texture was perfect for my taste. I like my ribs where the meat just melts off the bone into your mouth, and that's what these ribs do. Their sirloin steak is pretty good, too! Nothing out of the ordinary, but good nonetheless. I had mine cooked medium rare, however, I think the flavor of the ribs I had obscured the flavor of the steak. Texture wise, the steak was a tad too chewy over all. While I was there, another customer was celebrating a birthday and they do a very western birthday chant which was both uplifting and embarrassing at the same time, which made the whole experience even more fun. Customer service was unique, and the environment is very unique as well. Set in a wild-wild-west kind of backdrop with complimentary peanuts, and cinnamon dinner rolls that are just to die for, Texas Roadhouse will have you savoring every last bite on your plate. Unfortunately, this place doesn't exist in Southern California, and I would love to see a branch open here.

Steak!!!! Really good high quality well cooked steak!!!!!!!!! Medium rare, with sauteed mushrooms and onions........ I love steak and I eat a lot of it. My wife makes the best steak I've ever eaten, but Texas Roadhouse is one of the better reasonbly-priced options if you need to eat out. Always cooked correctly, well seasoned, free of gristle, and darn tasty. The sides and salads are good too (the ranch dressing is awesome). Every time we go the place is packed, but the food comes in a reasonable time and the service is good. Only thing I could live without us the corny peanut-shells-on-the-floor shtick, but that's a minor quibble for such a fine slab of beef. Yum.

We eat here quite a bit. I used to order a steak, but the last few times I have done so, they have either been undercooked or overcooked (I order medium well). Also, I ordered the filet medallions and they were full of stringy fat throughout; had them before and they were better. Lately, I've been ordering the salmon (blackened) or pulled pork, and both have been very good. I love the fresh side dishes, and always get the green beans; mashed potatoes and rice are good too. Once got the vegetables, which were boring. The rolls and butter are delicious. The orders are usually large enough for leftovers, which is nice, especially if you can get the early dining deal.

The roadhouse was packed on a Thursday evening last week. This was my first visit so I was interested to see how everything would go. I normally don't order steak from a restaurant because it's usually sub-par to what I can grill at home. This time I figured I'd give it a try. I ordered the 20 ounce bone-in tenderloin cooked rare with a side Caesar salad and loaded baked potato. Washing it all down was a nice Corona, appropriately limed. The rolls brought to the table were good and yeasty, served with a cinnamon whipped butter. The Corona was extra cold, just the way I like it. The Cesar was good, chilled, and not drowning in dressing. The steak arrived and was cooked to perfection...nice and rare! The flavor was good and char-grilled, and it was obviously at least 20 oz worth. The potato was well cooked and dressed as well. All in all was pleasantly surprised. I'd go back, but I'd try a smaller & leaner cut next time. As it was I could only finish less than half of the main course. OBTW, if you've got peanut allergies, or are around someone with the, stay away from this place. They have the overly obnoxious bucket-o-peanuts thing going on where everyone throws the shells on the floor. I always cringe when I watch the kids digging through them, tasting them and putting them back...yuck! This practice could certainly be skipped in my opinion.

We've gone "nuts" over this place. That's how we "roll." This restaurant is consistently good. It all starts with the service, accompanied by the delectable rolls and cinnamon butter. Rolls not your thing? Start digging into the bucket of nuts. Then comes the crisp and fresh chilled salad. What meal is complete without the savory steak and vegetable? Certainly not this one. And done for an affordable price, who can go wrong? This is one restaurant my wife and I will be at once a month.

Really wondering where the friendly staff that everyone else talked about was. We been to this restaurant a few times, and never been particularly wowed, but decided to try it one more time for my mom's birthday. Our waitress didn't seem too interested in our table. Never came by to check on us, and had to flag her down every time we wanted a refill or had a request. Ordered the peppercorn steak and got the mushroom one instead. The steaks and burgers we ordered were all rare, which only made one person at our 8-top happy. And despite our waitress's insistence that my daughter's burger was medium well, a medium well burger does not leave a puddle of blood on the plate! We cut our losses, ate what we had, and scratched this restaurant off our list. Take my advice... go one street over to Warren and eat at LongHorn Steakhouse by Westland Mall. Much more enjoyable.

This place is to BBQ what Olive Garden is to Italian food. Which is to say, it's edible, but completely unremarkable. I can't believe how many good reviews it's gotten, but I guess if you're the kind of person who is super into Applebees and gets excited by phrases like "Margarita Mondays" then, you know, you'll probably dig it. But with so many far better BBQ options around, I can't imagine I'll ever go here again- we only tried it because almost nothing is open on Mondays :-P

Usually never any issues but this past time was horrifying. Waitress sat at a table an talked for over 15 minutes. A manager proceeded to come by an ask us how our visit was we asked for a side of melted butter an she never returned!!! The waitress gave us our bill an we still never seen the manager!!! The waitress wasn't to terrible made sure we had refills before our glasses were empty an was very attentive other the 15 minute convo she wanted to have towards the end. Our food was delicious as always!!

I feel 4 stars is a smidgen high but it was a good experience overall. After watching a competing similar restaurant drive off a cliff, we drove 1 mile east and ate here after seeing the Yelp reviews. First impressions, terrific! Happy employees. The place was packed. The person seating us grabbed piping hot bread and showed us to our table. Brilliant leaving the bread at the table immediately. Not a huge fan of the cinnamon butter tho. Waitress came shortly and took our drink order. She was back with them in only a couple minutes. Mixed drinks were garnished. (Reference to the other restaurant that didn't garnish). We both got steaks. She got filet and I got ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that the ribeye was super thin. It does not convey a quality piece of meat to have it so thin. It reminded me of a Ponderosa steak in appearance. The baked potato was an insult to baked potatoes. I know how they cook them which is pretty consistent in the industry but it was especially bad. Withered and overcooked. But her filet was nice and thick and perfectly cooked. She got sweet potato and it was fine. We both had the Caesar salad and at first glance it appeared terribly over dressed, but the dressing was not strong and it was a perfect tasting salad. I'd prefer a stronger dressing and less of it, but this is a minor issue at this sort of restaurant. The service was perfect. Not too intrusive and relatively quick. The manager went around to all the tables to quickly check on their experience. That is a nice touch, though you never see this at swankier places. I think this will be in our regular rotation of restaurants now, replacing the one up the road

This place is everything you would expect for a Texas Road House. The buns are great, the stake is good for the price, however this place is super busy on the weekends.

Apparently this is the place to eat in Westland. We came on Friday and it was PACKED. According to the gentleman sitting next to us, it's packed every night. There was a wait, but we ended up squeezing in to two seats at the bar. They have a pager system if you need to wait for a table. They give you a pager and you can wait in the lobby or outside and enjoy your peanuts there. It was dinner time, so my husband ended up ordering a 16oz ribeye. Dinners come with two sides (salads, soups, vegetables, potatoes, mac and cheese, etc). He got mashed potatoes and applesauce. The steak was cooked to his liking and he was very satisfied. Despite all the options on the menu, I couldn't anything that really seemed to be of interest to me, so I ordered the half chicken with a loaded baked potato and side salad. The chicken was extremely juicy and nicely seasoned. The service was extremely friendly and given how large the crowd was, pretty quick. I would come back, but on a Saturday for lunch or during the week when I had a day off. With it being so packed it was a little too loud and uncomfortable for me, but if you call ahead, you might be in luck.

This place is so popular and there's ALWAYS a line to get in. How we managed to get there on a Saturday at 5:30 and have no wait is beyond me. Every time we go, we have a great experience. I love that their kid menu has a lot of options and comes with unlimited refills on the chocolate milk. I always order the filet and loaded mashed potato. The house salad is probably one of my favorite house salads from all the places that we go (with the exception of Outback-- that's my ultimate favorite). The rolls and cinnamon butter cannot be beat and I love their ranch dressing. My only complaint is when you go and you need a high chair-- it seems like parents with kids needing a high chair are treated like a PITA and are smushed into a corner with their kids. Thankfully, this last visit we were given a booth chair and it was the first time that I've seen one or used one. It's basically a booster seat with straps and it's brilliant!! We will be back and will be sending my parents a $50 gift card for Christmas.

This is another chain that's going to get a good review from me. The steak is good, cooked the way you order it, and is always tender. You can pick it out yourself if you want to! The little dinner salad is great, I order the low-fat Ranch...that can't be too low-fat because it's delicious. The rolls and cinnamon butter are great. Cold beer in a 22oz mug...mmm. The "legendary Margaritas" however leave a little to be desired. The sides are good. They also have some good "early dine" specials before 6 that are worth checking out. I've always found the staff to be efficient and friendly. The prices for the food you get are reasonable. I like this place, check 'em out. you'll be leaving a good review, too.

The food is absolutely delicious. I usually get a sirloin steak with shrimp and garlic potatoes. The price is quite reasonable since the food is of great quality. The service is always friendly. Just a great time.

No peanuts on the floor last night. You get two buckets now, one full and one empty. We were lucky enough to get a waitress-in-training and we kind of had to order twice, but we got through it. We went in for the Mon-Thur $7.99 specials, but nothing really appealed to us, at first. They whipped out some rolls with a flavored butter real quick and we had one while waiting for the meal. I went with the Outlaw Rib Eye Med Rare and it came out as advertised warm and red. I really prefer Med, but my experience is they tend to overcook by one level and I have to order Med Rare to get Med. It was still very good, but just a hair below my liking. The steak had a salty type of spice to it which was definitely not to my liking, but it was tender and tasty in spite of the little bit of extra spice. The potato was perfect and the cooked vegetables was broccoli and carrots. It was a little too heavy on the carrots, but my wife took them home with her left over dinner for a follow up snack. She ended up ordering the full order of Chicken Fried Steak, which was on the $7.99 menu, with Cream Gravy and Mashed Potatoes and Chili starter. Everything was very good. Oh yeah... we ordered the fried pickles and they weren't bad. A spicy sauce was an excellent compliment to the flavorful slices of hot crispy fried pickles. The only downside was the training level service which was pretty slow and didn't seem to include Iced Tea refills. I had a second tea as I paid the bill. I'm going with 3 stars for the salty steak, crappy specials and lack of refills.

Being a big fan of steak, I will go anywhere where I can satisfy my need for it. From the exclusive N9Ne Steakhouse in Las Vegas to the neighborhood Ponderosa, there's just something about a steak that feeds not only the belly, but also the soul. Texas Roadhouse is a cheesy chain with the standard peanut shells on the floor, no doubt about it. But it's also really good! Over the years, this particular location has become a staple for dinner and movie nights - with Emagine Canton being right down the road. Everytime I go there it's packed, yet I am greeted with a smile. The managers obviously stress to their staff to be friendly because I've never run across one a-hole. When you sit at your table, you are presented with a basket of the most delicious, buttery rolls I've ever tasted. Let me say that again...the most delicious, buttery rolls I've ever tasted. If you need me to say it a 3rd time I will, but I think you get it. I've ordered several items on the menu, but I always seem to stray back to the steak medallions. These are 3 little cuts of beef, served over rice. Yum! Just the right amount! Their loaded baked potato, veggies, salads, and other sides have always been good and filling. One star taken for the constant, loud, obnoxious birthday songs every 10 minutes. I get it, everyone and their dog comes here for their birthday. But for a normal patron, having to continually stop our conversations because the long chain of clapping, yee-hawing waitstaff is passing by just gets a little old. Am I getting a homecooked meal in a family owned place with recipes from Nana and Papaw's old farm when they personally killed everything before eating it? Absolutely not. But this is a great place to make one of your standard regulars.

Enjoyed an early birthday dinner with my wife and mother. Patrick was our server and was very good, very talkative though his shtick really came off as a carnival barker (spoke too fast for us to understand). We each enjoyed a different margarita offering, personally I enjoyed the "Huricane". We started with an onion blossom ( free birthday appetizer ). Mom had a half order of ribs which looked very close to a full rack. My wife enjoyed her sirloin and my beef tips were cooked just right. I would say nothing special done about my birthday by staff which is unusual when you inform them. Also the text coupon I received didn't come with a 13 digit code for redemption but we did receive discount without hassle.

Texas Roadhouse is without a doubt one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always up to my standards and the service is fairly decent as well. My guy and I dined here last Sunday after a long day of watching sports at home. While there was a 15 minute wait, we were seated shortly after at a small table near the bar area. A waitress came by to take our drink orders and our appetizer order as well. We opted to split the cheese fries, which came with ranch dressing, bacon bits, and delicious and well melted cheese. Easily enough to split with a few people and I'm getting hungry again just thinking about them! As for our dinners, my friend had the country style chicken with brown gravy and a side of baked potato. It came out nice, hot, and fresh and it was actually delicious and more than enough for two meals. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It wasn't *amazing* by any means (considering I love Slow's pulled pork sandwich) but it was filling and I liked the sweetness of the sauce. My only negative about it was that the bottom bun was already soggy when I got it. I'd understand it being that way if I came home and it was leftover, but to begin with? Maybe have less sauce and meat on the sandwich next time? Because of the amount of food we ordered and our small two seater table, we had no space to really eat. The busser's seemed a bit preoccupied with the games on TV to bother helping any of the tables but we managed to make it work so no harm done!

I have no clue how this place is always packed? Nothing special my steak was dry and no flavor at all and my girl friends Salmon was plain! I really feel ripped off by this place way over priced for crap food!! I have had way better steaks and fish for half the price and the sides you get with your meal were just as awful horrible French fries!!!

The steaks are so good cooked perfectly. The side salads are huge and taste really good. They put egg in their salads, there isn't to many places that do that. Their rolls are out of this world with the cinnamon butter, yummy... Just waiting this review makes me want to go there now.

We made a spur of the moment decision to go here tonight, so we didn't have a chance to call ahead. Luckily the wait was only about 10 roasted peanut filled minutes. Last time I had the 12oz ribeye and the cut was lacking. This time I went in guns blazing and ordered the 20oz bone-in ribeye, medium rare. It was much better this time around, real juicy and flavorful with a nice thick spinalis. I also had my usual baked potato, with sour cream and no butter. Do note, if you go that route you must get double sour cream, because for some reason it seems every restaurant in the world doesn't give you enough to make up for the butter, and you end up with a dry potato at the halfway point. The salad was decent, and the service was good.
I went to Texas Roadhouse for a fundraiser, so I do feel kind of bad for the two stars, but the food just wasn't great. Underwhelming is the only word I can think of when trying to describe our dinner. The waitress was nice and efficient, but, as per usual, that doesn't make the food taste better. I'm not a fan of the cinnamon butter they bring with the yeast rolls. Of course that's just a matter of taste, but it still seems kind of odd to me for a steakhouse. One of my dining companions ordered his steak Medium Well, and the inside was still faintly mooing when he reached the center. While it is nice of the restaurant to allow fundraisers, I think in the future I'll just donate whatever my meal would have cost directly to the charity.

We tried them when they first opened at this location, years ago, and I distinctly remember not being impressed at all. So much so that we never went back. But I've been craving sweet yeast rolls with cinnamon butter, and someone told me to try Texas Roadhouse. Really? Uh, ok... Now, prices are cheap and portions are huge... so you know this place crawls with families. Last night was no different - 30 minute wait, 10 of which I spent with someone's kid on my lap (kidding, but you get the picture - the waiting area was packed). We waited longer specifically for a booth, and they put us in one of those teeny, tiny two-top booths - you know the kind where 3/4ths of the tabletop is taken up with ads and ketchup. Grrrrrrr Our greeter took us to our table with those wonderful rolls in her hand. Nice touch when you want to stuff something in your face immediately! And they were delicious. Hot, yeasty, sweet. I love you cinnamon butter. Started with sweet tea and a coke, plus the $4 fried pickle app. Thin slices (not our preferred spears), but the coating stayed on nicely, and they came with regular and cajun ranch for dipping. Very nice portion for the price point. Ken ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and chili as his two sides. We both liked the chili a lot, and the steak was real steak. I had the Chicken Fried Chicken with a green salad (came with shredded cheese, egg and croutons - tasty toppings) and green beans. Chicken was thin, but the breading was crispy. White gravy was a good touch. Green beans had tons of flavor. Everything was very flavorful (and my fingers aren't swollen today, so it wasn't just salt they used to season). $30 for everything?! Crazy cheap. Ribs and steaks at nearby tables looked good. Manager came over with a free app card and a bag of peanuts to take home since it was our first time there in years - nice touch.

Well, my husband and I went to this Texas Roadhouse in Canton, MI this past week and usually we go for the pulled pork dinner. It's not bad for the price and not far from home. Well, this time was a little or maybe alot different than most other times when we've gone there to eat. We both ordered the pulled pork dinner. The pork was not melting in our mouth's as it should. It was so dry that I had to drink so much diet soda, I thought I was going to float away! The pulled pork didn't have enough sauce on it and it was crusty and fatty! They are usually known for their great meat. I don't even eat meat very often and this was my treat night. It sure wasn't a treat at all! We both had to send back our sweet baked potatoes because they were not cooked enough and were still a bit cool; but for sure not hot! We tried to tell the server that we were unhappy with the food and the temperature of the food and the texture. She said she was "sorry" but did nothing to offer any kind of "fixing it for us". We had asked for a manager to come over and no one ever came to our table until we were done eating and ready to leave. She asked us how it went and we told her exactly how unhappy we were and she never offered to do anything at all to make us feel better or happier. We are never looking for a "free meal" but a diet soda or even a dessert could have been a gesture of good will on their part. But we ended up feeling like nobody cared that our food was really not good that evening nor was the server caring at all about our food experience. Well I guess we just won't be going back there for awhile and then maybe try it again at a future time.

So nice!

It's Mother's Day so the wait was looonngg but call ahead seating helped! The food was hot and delicious!!

Great atmosphere, super waitstaff, excellent food, & cold draft beer. What more could I possible say?

Service was great food was good. Not really anything to complain about. Rolls and butter were real nice. Pretty good cocktail menu. Nothing spectacular except the service.

Always satisfying! Went for the afternoon specials. Nice menu. I got the grilled chicken salad. The portion was just . Very family friendly. Went with our grandkids. Good good for a good price.

(5)Jim S.

(1)Michelle T.
The steaks are so good cooked perfectly. The side salads are huge and taste really good. They put egg in their salads, there isn't to many places that do that. Their rolls are out of this world with the cinnamon butter, yummy... Just waiting this review makes me want to go there now.
(5)Mike D.

Hello Michigan friends! It wasn't so long ago that I would frequent your borders, shopped in your stores and ate at your restaurants. No matter where I visited no place impressed me more than my numerous visits to Texas Roadhouse. For any regular of this restaurant, you've seen, you've heard, you've tasted and nothing I can say will tell you anything new... for everyone else, strap yourself in because everything in Texas really is bigger, and at Texas Roadhouse its also BETTER! Walking into TRH on any given night, a tardy arrival will mean that you will have to wait to be seated as the line up starts early and lasts long. If you are thinking about leaving to go elsewhere as I foolishly considered one time, the display counter of freshly cut steaks as soon as you walk in AND the basket after basket of fresh rolls pouring out of the kitchen armed with freshly whipped cinnamon butter, will stop you dead in your tracks. This place stomps all over the kitsch line with its design and decorations, it looks like a beer commercial had a baby with a taxidermist but Hell, I ain't here for no fancy décor, I'm here for some Steak Dammit!! And Steak I did have friends. After the order I made on my first visit, I've never been able to order anything else - its all I want to eat. Here is my meal of choice: 24oz Fort Worth Rib-eye cooked medium rare (perfectly) - its perfectly marbled, tender and juicy. That slab of beef comes armed with your choice of 2 sides which without question I have always ordered the Caesar salad, and mashed potatoes. I don't know how I manage to finish this meal time and time again, but the food coma that ensues is certainly well worth it - Oh and did I mention this entire meal cost me less than $20. BOOM! Ya that's right - stay hungry my friends.
