Finally!! Good mexican food in Michigan! They have Horchata! Chile Rellenos are great. Portions are huge and I couldn't believe the prices! I will definitely be driving from Chelsea to Westland for this food again. Thanks to our friends for taking us there this weekend!

Definitely a hole in the wall, salsa was a bit bland. Burrito was very good and it was a place I would possibly go back to if I were in the area, but there are places I like more.

So, I love Mexican food, authentic Mexican food is the best (I will eat other kinds though). I have not had a bad experience here, my fiancee and I have been going here for 7 years! The staff is always attentive, nice, and on top of their game. This a "no muss, no fuss" place to eat. You get what you order and it is always delicious, if you like authentic Mexican food that is! If you are more interested in Taco Bell style food (there is nothing wrong with that!), you will want to just go to Taco Bell. But, if you are up for some really well flavored food, here you go! I love that they have Pepsi products and ice tea. When you sit down you get fresh chips and salsa (that is mild enough for me!), my favorite meal is the enchiladas suizas with rice. To top off the meal I love to split a strawberry shortcake with ice cream with my fiancee. You can ask for extra sour cream and cheese if you would like, I do, Most of the dishes already have the cheese and a side of sour cream but for me, one serving just isn't enough! Generally sour cream is not "authentic" but I order it because I love it :-) Cheese is authentic but I like more cheese than usual too :-)

I went in for dinner the other night and was a bit thrown off by the lighting and decor, but the parking lot and the place was packed so I went for it. Service was good but not great, chips came out late and getting a refill on the chips seemed difficult. They did eventuality step up and refill the chips and salsa and service picked up after that. I had the San Felipe Special (1 Chile Relleno, 1 Carne asada taco, and 1 potato flauta) the menu says all dishes come with sour cream. guacamole, and your choice of rice, beans. fries or coleslaw. On both my dish and my wife's dish the guacamole was integrated into the items and the same for the sour cream on hers so if you're a picky eater be careful. So how did it taste, pretty darn good. The relleno was nice and medium spicy with great cheese filling and a perfect fry coating. The carne asada taco would bring me back for a plate of like 10 of those. It was two thin small soft flour tortillas loaded with steak, with crispy crunchy gilled/fried bits onion and cilantro. The potato flauta was kind of a letdown it was not very crisp and came buried under the guacamole and lettuce mix, but two greats and an average works out. I recommend you give this place a try, the torta sandwiches look so good, I can't wait to go back.

This is the best Mexican place in the area. Authentic food, very reasonable prices and an extremely friendly staff. Try the California Burrito or the Fish Tacos and be sure to request the hot salsa with the chips (the mild is great too). I wish they had a bar, but it's still one of my favorite restaurants.

Once again, I have to note that I am not an expert on authentic Mexican food. So, I'm going to review this place based on what I do know. Atmosphere-ummm, not so great. The entire place is lit with yellowish fluorescent lights. It's kind of jarring when you walk in. The place is decorated old school Mexican restaurant. I can't really tell what the rest looks like because it is totally decked out for Christmas. I have never seen so much tinsel in my life. It is smoke-free, and that was really nice. I hate leaving a Mexican place smelling like fajitas and smoke. Food-Chips are not hot, and pretty salty. The salsa was good. I'm a mild kind of girl (surprise!) and it was just right for me. I ordered the beef and bean flour flautas, and I liked them. Meals come with a choice of 2 sides-coleslaw, fries, rice or beans. I am not a fan of rice, so I ordered fries and cole slaw. The cole slaw was so odd, I didn't finish it. It tasted like someone poured really sweet lemonade over it. The fries were thick cut, and ok, but really didn't add anything to the meal. I enjoyed the flautas, and would order them again. They were hot and crunchy, which is exactly what I was looking for. Is it authentic Mexican? I dunno, since I don't know from real Mexican. Was it tasty, close to home, and cleaner than Mexican Fiesta? Yep. I'll be back to try the tacos and burritos.

This is one of our favorite places for mexican food. The enchiladas are great and they always make sure you have plenty of chips and salsa. The inside is a bit cramped, but the staff are always friendly and helpful.

My wife and I really like their carry out. The food is very authentic and tasty. I say carry out because I refuse to eat inside the place. We've tried to have a sit down dinner a few times. But I just can't enjoy my meal when I'm in a restaurant whose thermostat constantly reads 88 degrees. So of youre looking for very tasty, authentic Mexican CARRY OUT, this is the place. I also recommend this place for dine in if you're looking to sweat off several pounds of excess water weight while eating.

We first visited New Mexico Restaurant about 5 years ago and weren't too impressed. Not that anything was bad but it just wasn't a place to go out of your way to visit. The name is a little misleading, the food is firmly Mexican not New Mexican cuisine. Anyone that has visited New Mexico and tasted their delicious Hatch green chilis that are served on just about everything will soon realize there is no comparison. With that said, my family and I stopped here today on a whim and are very glad we did. I had the Santa Fe burrito/chicken. The chicken was wonderful, basted in a chipotle sauce, perfectly cooked green peppers and onions in a tasty flour tortilla. Others ordered an Enchilada combo plate and the Mexican sandwich. They all come with rice and beans as a side. You can choose fries if you prefer. We all really enjoyed our meals. For the most part, tasty typical mexican chow though the chipotle chicken in the Santa Fe Burrito really was outstanding and worth a try. The wait staff were very friendly and attentive. Prices were average: 3 meals and 3 soft drinks, total bill about $34.00.. The only negative would be their blase salsa but is easily remedied if you ask for pico de gallo and mix it with a little of their house salsa. Oh, and no liquor license.

I am not sure why this restaurant have four stars rating but our experience was awful. My husband ordered spicy shrimp and when the food arrived, it cold. My vegetarian dish was prepared wrong. The service was horrible, no smile or checking on our table. We had to ask other staff for service. In the end, food tasted bad and with bad service, i will not go back.

We just ate dinner this evening. The restaurant looked more like small town eatery than i expected. The food and the cheerful service made up for anything. The employees are excellent and the meals I've had there, 8 or 10 have been good each and every time

When I eat there I have always had great service and friendly smiles! It looks small but it's not just went there for Cinco de Mayo they have a bigger area in back! Love their deep fried Chicken Chimichanga and their Chicken Botona salad too!

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant, by a long shot. I've never had dinner there, but I've been for lunch more times than I can count. The Pico de Gallo is so good that I've ordered an extra cup as a take-out item. I don't know where they find super-fresh tasting tomatoes and cilantro in the middle of a brutal Michigan winter, but they do. (Pico is complimentary upon-request during your meal) The regular salsa is thin, and while it tastes good, isn't a stand-out item. The daily soups range from very good to excellent. (no re-hydrated mixes here, or if they are, they disguise it well!) The chicken mini botana is a great value - full of tender chicken and crisp fresh chips.

It was a beautiful Cinco De Mayo day. Unfortunately for us, it was a Stinko De Mayo kind of time. Although we stopped by on their busiest day of the year, you would think they would have enough staff to meet the demand?!?!? Not at all... The parking lot was full, but when we walked in there was one party of 3 before us, and they got seated right away. There were a few carryout orders waiting, and one girl commented all I ordered was "Chips and Salsa". Right there should of been a warning. The lady at the front pointed at an empty table, full of dirty plates and glasses and said you can sit there and someone will clean it right away. Well, we sat, and looking around noticed alot of tables waiting for food. Oh well, we decided to wait, and wait we did. No one came by to clean, to take drink orders, nor bring chips. The table next to us asked there waiter why there table was passed up with 2 orders when they were sitting there before the others arrived. What we had here today unorganized chaos, and after 25 minutes of being ignored, decided it was best to leave. However, before we did, I got my good deed out of the way by offering the next party of 3 our table, and told them Good Luck. This was my 2nd time there, and with my 1st being mediocre at best, will not be back.

Love this place ! It's my go to for Mexican food ! It's some of the best in this area . The tres lechè cake (3 milk cake) is delicious ! You get a lot for what you pay for , and tastes great . The place is a little small and I'm sure can get busy on weekends so I try to go on week nights. They don't serve alcohol , so don't come in looking for a margarita. Way better then Mexican fiesta in my opinion.

Do not mistake this place for a super authentic mexican restaurant experience like Dos Hermanos is down the street. However, what New Mexico lacks in authenticity it makes up for in sheer flexibility. My wifey and I stopped in to use up the last Restaurant.com voucher we had and we stepped into a decently kept up place. We looked at the full room and saw pretty simple Americanized Mexican fare. We were seated promptly and got the requisite corn chips and salsa, and it was pretty standard stuff. The chips were warm which was a plus. Now, as for the main courses, this is where my wife gives New Mexico the extra star... you can choose to have fries and coleslaw on the side of your dinner platter rather than just rice and beans. Not that this was expected, but she was pleasantly surprised as she doesn't really care for rice and beans, but the steak fries she got completed her meal quite nicely. The coleslaw was most likely mass-produced, but she enjoyed her combo plate with fries. I got the steak mexicana and while it was similar to fajitas, i probably would go back and try the Carne Asada steak or fajitas next time. The fried ice cream dessert was also amazingly good, although i only had a few mini bites and the wifey enjoyed it a ton. There will most likely be a next time as New Mexico had good service, decent food, a variety of menu options, and most importantly, french fries on the side. Don't come in expecting amazing Mexican cuisine, but expect a step up from Mexican Fiesta in terms of food quality and you will enjoy this place.

My family and I have been going to New Mexico for close to 10 years. The food and the servers are fantastic and this is one of our favorite restaurants. What makes this restaurant so great is that their chips are hot and fresh, there are very generous portions, and the family/people who run it are amazing. Years ago, my mom was out to dinner with my nephew and forgot her wallet at home. They were amazing and said, "You come in here a lot. Pay us next time." The customer service here is just outstanding and I can't say how wonderful this place is and continues to be. I only have TWO complaints... 1.) Parking lot is small! Trying to turn left out of Ford Rd. is next to impossible sometimes. and 2.) No alcoholic beverages are served here (at least since I was last here). Other than that, I have nothing but glowing things to say about this family favorite of ours.

The best Pico de Gallo and the fried ice cream and the sopapilla chips with cinnamon and sugar wow! Me and the wife usually share a Botana. Very good as well as good prices.

You want authentic Mexican food at a great place that offers a ton of food? ¡Sí, se puede! Okay, for all I know I just said "I love chocolate covered kittens!" en Español but, what I DO know is this little Mexican restaurant is amazing in every way! First, the decor is cheesy-cute. It's not tacky, but not lovely. It almost has a humble feel to it. The parking lot is small and I know when this place gets busy its gotta be a biatch to park, but its not hard to find a spot on an average night. Now for the food! You always get offered chips and salsa which is spot on. Not too hot, with just the right amount of chunkiness! The chips are not too greasy either. I always get a combo plate without the meat in the meal and it is one of those times I wish I was part cow and I had four stomachs! The beans are just right, the veggies are fresh, and the tacos have a great crunch! The food is not greasy but, oh so flavorful! My dining companion got the Mexican soda, which she loves. Anyone who loves Mexican food has got to check this place out!

Love the food, and the nicest people EVER. Decorations are very cluttery, but I kind of like that? It shows heart and that the people care. On to the food, Burritos are PHENOMENAL. Quesadillas aren't as good as Grand Rapids' Little Mexico and I like my home-made guacamole better, so I took a star off, and only gave them 4 stars. I also only gave them 4 stars because I went in their once when they were SO INCREDIBLY BUSY, and got very bad service. But you know what? They were so busy they could barely even seat us, so I don't hold that against them. Somebody posted that the chicken was dry, so I specifically watched out for dry chicken, and that was not true of our food at all! My chicken in my quesadilla was juicy and delicious. This place is a favorite, so when we want Mexican, we always go here. :)

This is a great place to bring your family for a meal. The food is great the wait staff are wonderful. The place is great and at a reasonable price. I have to have the Mexican pizza, great flavor at a wonderful price. I got to have the burrito when i got there as well it has great flavor.

the first time i tried this place a few years back, i thought it was great. i think that was only because i had not tried very many mexican restaurants before. i have been to this place a few times in the past couple years and it is just OK. nothing great about it, nothing bad about it. the service is always friendly and fast, and they always get my order correct. i usually order the enchiladas, and they're good but they could be better when it comes to flavor. also, the rice could also be better. there are some days where it tastes delicious, but there are some days were it is super bland. i guess you could say this place is sometimes a hit and sometimes a miss!

This is a family favorite. We have been going here for about 6 or 7 years and it has always lived up to how great it was the time before. The wait staff know us and they are all incredibly nice. You will not be disappointed when you order anything. I really love the Carne Asada and my mom really loves the siete mares. Anything you get, you will like.

We love this restaurant! We are BIG authentic Mexican food eaters and this is as close as you can get in a Michigan restaurant. I love the food, but the fact that they have horchata, flan and tres leches cake makes it a true favorite. The hot salsa is fantastic as are the chile rellenos and the enchiladas. Haven't done the flautas, but eventually, I'll get around to the rest of the menu.

Long Story short, we were in Ann Arbor visiting a friend at the U of M Hospital and I could not remember the name of some of the Mexican Restaurants that 'yelpers' adore. so after 3-4 trips through downtown Ann Arbor we headed out to the burbs WHY? it was commencement weekend & EVERY STUDENT and their PARENTS , jammed every restaurant in the 4-5 block area. we were even shut out at Krazy Jims - Blimpie Burger and the Original Cottage Inn So as we drove along Ford Road, my GPS took me here after the previous 2-3 Mexican Restaurants were out of Business ------------------------------------------------- The Review The place was very nice & clean, and well staffed I tried the 'AUTHENTIC' { the server said it not me } # 23 Tacos al Carbon which was 3 Grilled Skirt Steak , served on corn tortillas , with Cilantro & Onions Very Nice & Simple & flavorful B+ Chips [hot fresh & light ] B+ & 2 Salsas Regular Salsa B Spicy Chunky salsa [ by request ] A+

Solid Authentic Mexican Meals - Best in the 'burbs - Not for Tex Mex lovers (that's not Mexican anyway). Get over the cheesy decor and lack of alcohol. This is a Mom and Pop eatery that tries hard and succeeds. Best chorizo & eggs, carnitas, grilled fish, and tostada within 300 miles. Take a chance on the daily soup and stew specials and you won't be disappointed.

I always hate write a less than 3 star review but I just have too. The boyfriend got beef fajitas which consisted of small pieces of dry beef. I was not fond of the enchiladas; the sauce, beans and rice were not that great. I even tried to add some salsa to spice it up a bit but it didn't work. :(

We decided to Mexican sounded good tonight, and takeout from New Mexico won the vote. Often times, I get the chicken Mexican Pizza, which is crisp flour shells nicely loaded with cheese and peppers, but this time I decided on the combo plate. It comes with two hard shell tacos, two cheese enchiladas, a tostada, and two sides. The tacos were nice and crisp on the outside, and loaded with ground beef on the inside. The enchiladas were quite tasty too. We also ordered a bag of chips and both hot and mild salsa. The hot salsa is chunky compared to the more blended mild; I cleaned out two containers in no time at all. The order was complete with nothing missing, and the food was nicely packed with my meal in a medium sized foil pan. Service for the takeout was prompt, courteous, and with a good attitude.

The third time is not the charm, on this case. This was my third time here and not really my favorite time. I was pleased with the Chile Rellenos, the Enchiladas and the Burritos, but the Mexican Sandwich, on this visit, was not up to par. It was made with a smaller size tortilla than I prefer and the chicken was covered in a watery sauce that took away some of the flavor. The chips and salsa were OK, but the salsa was too mild and the hot sauce had a strange aftertaste. The service is usually good, but while we were there another waitress was arguing with a take out customer who came back to request some sauce for his order. It just seemed inappropriate. I won't order the Mexican Sandwich again, from here, but I'll be back. 3 Stars...

Took my mom and myself there for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. My mom had the beef quesadillas and me? I generally get cheese enchiladas. The rice and the beans were both very tasty and the tea I had to drink was good, too. The service was excellent!, and very friendly! and the decor is bright and cheerful. If you haven't tried this place, you should. My mom said she was happy with everything, too. AND I was ecstatic to find they serve Menudo, too! I happen to love Menudo. :)

We did carry out for an early lunch, and by the time I drove a half hour home in the snow, I reheated the food...and was surprised how tasty and fresh it was. Be advised, that this IS NOT "New Mexican" food like you would find in New Mexico. I had to ask prior to ordering since I had lived there and had questions about the menu. The burrito supreme was excellent with shredded chicken. It was breast meat that was cooked perfectly and tender. Also had the chilies rejenoes...also stuffed full with cheese and breaded on the outside. I think this would have been even better had we eating in rather than do take out.

5 star service 4 confusion re- lunch specials- there aren't any- old menu picture- shown on yelp 3 - 2.25 for a small glass soda- granted refills but 1 glass enough for me The burrito supreme with shredded beef was very very good. The meat was lean, tender and flavorful. Ate 1/2 took the rest home. .50 extra for wet. Asked for hotter hot sauce- they brought out a pico type salsa. Yum. Coleslaw as a side option is great! Creamy- tart- sweet- yum Beans soooooo yummy and thank you for the lil bowl rather than smearing them across the plate . Chips/salsa mmm ok I will return to try other options

Love this place!!! The food is excellent and you get a lot for your money. I usually get either their combo plate which gives a sample of several different items, or if it's lunch time, I will get the lunch burrito special. Their salsa is homemade and you can tell by how good it is. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant, and I have visited many over the years.

They food was okay but way too expensive for the quality of food. The food was bland and had no color or pop to it. It felt like barely a step up from Taco Bell and I was really disappointed. I would not recommend it.

Coming back to Michigan after living in CA for 25 years, a good Mexican restaurant has been hard to find. Being disgusted and disappointed by the other Mexican restaurants on Wayne Rd. (North of Warren) I thought I would look up other Mexican Restaurants in the area and came up with New Mexico. I got take out. Starting with the chips: Warm and fresh and perfectly salted. I got a wet chicken burrito that came with my choice of rice and refried beans. Although there was plenty of food for me, the side portions were very small when considering the $9.00ish I paid for the meal, but the beans were delicious, and the entire meal was tasty and satisfying. As close to "authentic" as I have had since being back in Michigan. I will be back!

We stopped by to check this place out on a Sunday afternoon. Food was good. No alcohol...no bar. So that was a disappointment. We ran out of salsa and chips. No one noticed because two of three visible wait staff were on their cell phones at a back booth. Plain, filling, inexpensive.

Okay, so we decided to try a different Mexican restaurant form our regular place. And we were glad that we did so. It was quiet due to it being the end of the night. It was clean and neatly organized. Its decor was rather simple, but pleasant to look at. I found it to be charming. We were given a basket of tortilla chips and salsa. Both tasted fresh and had nice flavor. My wife ordered the beef chimichanga with refried beans and rice. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with refried beans and rice. Neither one of us had had a chimichanga in years. And both of us agreed that they were the best chimichangas that we have ever had. They were flavorful. They were colorful due to being covered in guacamole, lettuce and cheese. The meat was tender. All of the flavors worked well together. And even though the chimichangas were fried, they tasted light. They weren't heavy tasting as some fried foods can be. As good as the chimichangas were, I am waiting in ancitipation to go back and try more of their offerings to see how good the rest of the food is.

It's good Mexican food. A couple times the food has been a little bland, but I've started just getting a little extra sauce or something like that. The portions are good, staff is friendly. They aren't super amazing, but definitely worth a try.

On the recommendation by a local TV personality, I decided to try "New Mexico" out. I will say its above board, it fresh and the service is good. But it's the type of place, that if you had a quick craving for Authentic Mexican dishes, without having to drive down to Mexican town, this is the spot. Overall I would give it a 6 out of 10. The restaurant is small but clean.

My coworker steered us here. They absolutely love it. It was good not great but unfortunately, Mexican restaurants all seem to fall in the same category of just average for me. I can only say that I have had stellar Mexican food twice in my life: once in Texas and once in California. I ordered the combo. Pretty standard stuff: taco, tostada, enchilada, burrito, rice and beans. Aren't tostadas really just flat tacos? I feel like the industry is trying to dupe me. Beef here means ground beef and cheese. I really enjoy Mexican places where beef is like pot roast or actual cuts of beef or even tongue. Live and learn. Wife and kids had cheese quesadillas. Melted cheese in tortillas. No surprises here. Service was friendly and prompt but when I asked what the house specialty is she directed me to the combo. Let's work on a true house specialty mi amigas. What one dish do you want people to try if they are only going to eat here once? Unless it's a taco truck, don't tell me it's tacos. I like the decor. If you like standard Mexican and don't have a problem with it, this is worth a trip. However, a friend told me that in the same area is a Mexican market that has a food counter in it. I'll be checking that out next time on the west side.

We've been coming here exclusively for years. Love that they serve breakfast anytime. Today I'm having the combo plate, already know I'm going to like it. Only thing I haven't liked is the mole but I don't think I'll like it anywhere. If you have room, try the fried ice cream, kids will love it. Bonus - there's something special in the coleslaw, can you taste it?

Stopped in on a whim and to satiate our Mexican craving and was 100% satisfied. The salsa was the best I've had, I love how you can taste fresh cilantro in it. I never accept the 2nd basket of chips and salsa... Until today! I ordered the California Burrito with Beans and Rice. It was huge, the meat was tender and spicy and it was loaded with fresh guacamole, sour cream and Pico. I never finish the whole thing but for the 2nd time today, my taste buds couldn't get enough. My boyfriend was 100% satisfied with his combo plate also. To top it off the service of the entire staff was friendly and fast. So glad we took a chance today.

We used to be true regulars but then other Mexican restaurants opened and we spread ourselves out a bit. It took another Yelp review for me to realize they'd expanded in to the business next door... and we missed it. Then to find out they've been there for a while... Just embarrassing! Remember to ask for their Pico de Gallo with your chips and salsa - they do not just bring it out. Mix it in with the salsa for a delicious dip, or eat it straight out of the bowl. Another good (cheap!) app is their cheese dip. Once again, it is not on the menu, but they'll bring out a warm bowl of cheese sauce (could be canned, but I don't care) for around $2.50. Great deal! If you find it bland then add some pico. They do good tostadas, bean is my favorite topping. I also like their Mexican Pizza. Ken likes their Chimis, and they have one covered in the cheese sauce I mention above. The only thing I've had here that I do not like is their enchiladas, but its the sauce I didn't care for.

Was looking for a good, reasonably priced Mexican restaurant in the Westland area, and found New Mexico Restaurant on Yelp. I certainly would say that Yelp accomplished its mission with this one! I was incredibly impressed by the food and the service, and am planning to return with others! By the way, you should order the flour flautas, one potato, one chicken, one shredded beef. I'm making myself hungry just writing this!

Well, I find I enjoy Mexican restaurants much more when I have a big lime margarita in my hand(s), but for a teetotaling place, it's not bad. We had a Restaurant.com certificate to use, and they took it with no problem (sadly that happens less often than not). Both Mr. F and I liked the entrees we ordered, and the sizes were reasonable. We had a couple bucks of our coupon to use up, so we ordered dessert... I have typed and retyped this sentence and can't stop using shouty caps. GO GET YOURSELF THE CHURRO PLATE RIGHT NOW!! A little FORT made out of CHURROS with CARAMEL and WHIPPED CREAM!! Why are you still reading this? GO!!

If you have had to pleasure to try their chicken tortilla soup then you know just how good it is, it is the best, most flavorful soup I've ever had from any restaurant. :)

Had dinner at New Mexico last night. They had this amazing dish called Costillas (ribs).... Wow! Meat was falling off the bone with an amazing mole-inflected flavor. There was a corn and black bean salad that was bursting with flavor and a delightful texture. Previously I have tried one of the delicious shrimp dishes, which did not disappoint. I would recommend to Neil Y that he try ordering one of the specials from the whiteboard instead of the stock stuff from the menu. This is where New Mexico really shines. Great flavors. Break out of your taco, rice & bean boredom....

They food was okay but way too expensive for the quality of food. The food was bland and had no color or pop to it. It felt like barely a step up from Taco Bell and I was really disappointed. I would not recommend it.

It's good Mexican food. A couple times the food has been a little bland, but I've started just getting a little extra sauce or something like that. The portions are good, staff is friendly. They aren't super amazing, but definitely worth a try.

Correct nichole.v by far this is the most authentic you are going to get without driving down to Vernor and Bagley area they even have horchata here which is beyond hard to find in the suburbs if you have not had it for the people reading this review this is basically where the idea of rum chata came from without the alcohol you need to drink this!!! The portions are generous and the staff was more than friendly the restaurant is bare bones with some kitschy decorations it reminds me of evies if I can't get downtown this is definitely the go to spot don't spend your money anywhere else you will be pleased

Have been going there consistently since 2004, it is our favorite restaurant and now it is also my 3yr olds favorite restaurant. (She chose this place to go to eat for her birthday) they have Awesome food, have tried EVERYTHING there. The shrimp tacos are my favorite, California burrito and Santa fe are very close behind it. If you have had to pleasure to try their chicken tortilla soup then you know just how good it is, it is the best, most flavorful soup I've ever had from any restaurant. This place is definitely worth a try if you are looking for good food and great service.

the first time i tried this place a few years back, i thought it was great. i think that was only because i had not tried very many mexican restaurants before. i have been to this place a few times in the past couple years and it is just OK. nothing great about it, nothing bad about it. the service is always friendly and fast, and they always get my order correct. i usually order the enchiladas, and they're good but they could be better when it comes to flavor. also, the rice could also be better. there are some days where it tastes delicious, but there are some days were it is super bland. i guess you could say this place is sometimes a hit and sometimes a miss!

Finally!! Good mexican food in Michigan! They have Horchata! Chile Rellenos are great. Portions are huge and I couldn't believe the prices! I will definitely be driving from Chelsea to Westland for this food again. Thanks to our friends for taking us there this weekend!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
