Best description of this place would be "meh". We were looking for a reasonable place for Chinese takeout and thanks to the menu published online, we found this place. We kept it safe with the Sweet & Sour Chicken combo which included fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll smelled SO BAD. I'm not even a big fan of egg rolls, but my husband is - he managed to eat one, but the 2nd you couldn't get over the smell. The other food left much to be desired - the "fried" rice was just brown rice - I guess I had to pay $1 extra for actual fried rice. The chicken was complete circles (almost like a donut hole) which is really uncommon in chicken. Overall, not recommended.

Sitting in the restaurant right now: - Free, fast wifi - Generous portions - Food cooked fresh - Quality, tasty ingredients - Super friendly staff - Frequent-diner card to earn free appetizers/dinners. - Will make alterations to your order (ie, add in nuts, alter spicyness etc) per your request - Not too much MSG - No cheesy music playing (nice and quiet atmosphere) I've been coming here for the past several months at least once per week. It's now my local go-to for food, and having just returned from China, the food is surprisingly authentic for this small mom-and-pop place. Also, if you get carry-out, they jam-pack the boxes with food, so you definitely get your dollar's worth. My favorites: - Tasty almond - Crab rangoon (seriously great) - General Tsao's chicken

the food here was just okay. the thing that i liked was that it was very fresh, and made to order. i ordered the sesame chicken and fried rice dinner combo. the rice was very flavorful, and lighter than what i usually get at other Chinese restaurants (a good thing). the sesame chicken however was not my favorite. the chicken was fresh and all white meat, however i did not like the sauce that they used at all. it was spicy how i like it, but it tasted different than what i am used to. their egg rolls are also a lot different than other restaurants, but still pretty tasty. the workers here are super nice, and they give out stamp cards which i think is awesome! two stars for the food, three for the service. next time i will try the almond chicken.

Tried this place tonight because I just moved nearby and was craving some Chinese food. I've had Ten Yen before and wanted to try something new, and this place has a good rating. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. I had the egg drop soup and it was way way way too salty. I could only have a couple bites before my tongue started to feel weird! I ordered the almond boneless chicken dinner and didn't think that was good either. The chicken was mostly breading/not much meat, and the gravy was too salty (again). The rice was plain, even with the plum sauce, which they only give you a small amount and charge you for extra. Didn't care for the egg roll either... A little plain and not really crispy. I ultimately ended up having a couple bites of each and throwing the rest out. Maybe I'm spoiled by a couple other places, but I was disappointed by this place...

This place is right across the street from my house, they deliver and the reviews looked ok so I decided to give it a few whirls. I have ordered a pretty wide assortment of menu items each time because the prices are reasonable enough to experiment a bit and I like variety. Ordering has consistently been a challenge because the woman who answers the phone during the day, while very friendly, usually has a very difficult time understanding me. That's where the trouble ends, though. The young man who takes care of delivery always calls me back in order to confirm my order instructions and address. Every dish I have tried here has been fresh and flavorful. Some favorites are the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, all kinds of Fried Rice (especially Young Chow) and what is easily the best Crab Rangoon I have ever tasted. Be sure to order soup noodles if you like a little crunch in your soup. They're not automatically included and they won't remind you. If you're feeling adventurous, they offer some Vietnamese and Thai dishes as well. The Vietnamese Roll is a cool alternative to the egg roll and features plenty of fresh veggies and cellophane noodles wrapped in rice paper which is steamed rather than fried. Overall New Lucky Star gets an A+ in my book. They quickly became my speed dial Chinese place and consistently remind me why.

This is my go to place. I just live down the street. I always get Young Chow fried rice. The food here us great. The owners are super nice. Small suggestion. They should start selling Congee.

This place is REALLY good. I'm new to the area and really picky about my chinese food. The hot and sour soup is nice and spicy with lots of veggies and tofu and the sesame chicken was delicious as well (not too sweet on the sauce, with nice big chunks of lightly breaded white meat chicken). I think I found my new go-to chinese place!

I am always a bit leary to try new Chinese places but they have bubble tea so I decided to order food to go with my tea. First let me say the bubble tea was best I have ever had. The bubbles had just enough bite to them and they were flavorful. I have had some awful ones where they are slimy mushy from being overcooked and tasteless. The tea and bubbles were awesome! I ordered crab Rangoon and they were the best ones by far. The lettuce wraps which I have only had a p.f Chang's were amazeballs, way better than p. f Chang's my only boggle was they added the wonton strips which were soggy when I got home. No matter the taste was excellent just make sure you ask for them on the side. Now the bad part the szechuan chickens sauce was GROSS! Szechuan chicken is my go to dish I've had it at many Chinese restaurants and the sauce has always been similar in taste not this one. I have no way to even describe the flavor but the texture was jelly like. Spring rolls not so good either. However you can tell that everything there is handmade unlike many Chinese restaurants where they get frozen products and fry them up. The plum sauce was also best I have ever had. While the szechuan sauce was not good the vegetables and chicken was very fresh and cooked to perfection it would have been perfect had the sauce been right. Finally the staff was great. The son was very well mannered and nice and even introduced me to their rewards program. Which I will take full advantage in with their bubble tea, crab Rangoon and lettuce wraps and who knows maybe I will try a new dish next time. His mom was also very nice they are a nice family owned restaurant.

Based on reviews, we decided to give this restaurant a try. It is very clean and the people running it are very friendly and helpful. The food was good and not too expensive. We ordered crab rangoon, General Tso's, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef. It was all fairly good, but the sauce on the General Tso's was not very different from the sauce on the orange chicken. In fact, it tasted like the same sauce with just orange rind added for the one and spice added for the other, and so it did not taste like General Tso's as I have had it elsewhere. The fried rice had nothing in it but rice and soy sauce, no vegetables, meat, or egg. The Mongolian beef was good, but the bamboo shoots had a canned taste that detracted from it over all. The egg rolls and crab rangoon were excellent, however. It seems like a good place for basic Chinese takeout.

To start with, Yelp says this is 'Near San Francisco' wrong, it is in Michigan. Next, this was my first visit and it was the WORST chinese food I have ever had. I used to love chicken egg foo young and always order it the first time at any chinese restaurant. This was disgusting, patties looked like they were well done but upon chewing, they were mushy and slimy inside, I think they did not get cooked thru. They had a bad taset, I think one of the veggies inside was rancid and/or the patty was slimy inside. Looked great/tasted awfu. Then, the egg roll was the worst I have ever had, again I think one or more of the veggies used may have been rancid, smelled like cigarette smoke and tasted just as bad. I threw the egg roll away after 2 bites. I got General Tso for my son but he wont be home untll later tonight, I did tell him yet how bad mine was. I will probably write another review when he eats it. Right now, I vow never to go there again and hope I dont have food poisoning tonight.

The chicken, egg rolls, and fried rice were good, and carry-out was fast and friendly. The fried dumplings were a little burnt, but other than that it was exactly what you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant.

Small place but the food is so awesome. Fresh cruchy vegetables.Everything taste homemade and super fresh, unlike so many who use frozen. The people are very friendly and its a great place if great food at very reasonable prices are your priority. The curry or mongolian dishes are done to perfection.Amazing. Under new management now and the new owners really do an fantastic job with food preperation and making their guest feel welcome. Do yourself a favor and try this place out.

The place looks like a total dive and is easy to pass over. But it's solid carry out Chinese. Good egg rolls if u like the bean sprout variety. Average prices.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
