In terms of Chinese buffets, this is a 4 star place in newness, freshness and quality of the hot buffet items, and the dessert tray. Similarly to Liz W., I was very disappointed with the sushi selection and quality, but I'm a little more into the other selections. I especially liked the layout, and the newness of the surroundings... it was inviting and somewhat formal but not too formal... the faux marble was a little slick and if you walked too fast around the soups, you might take a tumble, but that's not really the restaurant's fault that customers drip soup sometimes. Plus dishes included hot crab rangoons, the carve your own ham was very tender and flavorful, and the coconut shrimp was not too tangy or cloyingly sweet. Also enjoyed the standards such as sweet and sour chicken and chicken with vegetables. The dessert table was also very good, the strawberry cake was a perfect ending. Overall, it was nothing out of the ordinary, nothing that stands out Chinese buffet wise... for 6.99 at lunch, you can fill up for an entire day, no breakfast or big dinner needed. Would we come again? Absolutely, but we wouldn't make it a stand-alone trip... the reason we went in the first place is because it was on the way to the stores we needed to hit in Northville/Livonia. Upgrade the sushi and it'd be a five star all the way... compared to other Chinese buffets of course.

Food is really good. People here are so nice. When ever you have a question or need something they will help you right away. Cashiers are very welcoming I always go back because of there smiles. I think everyone should go hereof you want good services. Good food. And to walk out in a good mood.

Decent food for buffet style. Each item actually has different flavor and taste unlike other Chinese buffet restaurant. Customer service gotten a lot better than before, could be better but what do you expect at buffet so much anyway.

This review is long overdue considering how many times I've visited this place in the past year, but here it goes. First of all, the atmosphere is very nice! Very colorful statues, artwork & displays are the first thing you will notice. They have a lovely waterfall, soft oriental music in the back round and everything appears clean. The wait staff is very attentive with drink refills and whatever needs. Very friendly. Now to the food. The sushi is about as good as any other sushi place, which is surprising! It's very nice for Sushi lovers to be able to get all you can eat, on top of all the other food they offer for such a low price. All of their Chinese and Thai dishes are tasty. I love the crab ran-goons here. They have a cool little ice cream station set up with about 6 to 8 different flavors. The only thing i should warn you about is the American food options. Items like the pizza, macaroni & cheese, & pasta pretty much taste like their from the high school cafeteria. But hey, what do you expect LOL? I recommend this place mainly for Asian food lovers only. You do get your money's worth though and it's still a good experience.

Loved the Mongolian BBQ style grill, the sushi bar, the stuffed shrimp, stuffed mushrooms, crab stuffed clams, the non-stuffed claims in the shell, the mussels in the shell, the peel and eat shrimp, the teriyaki chicken, the octopus salad, the Thai chicken and the funny hostess who mediated our teasing argument over who would pay the $16 and change (after coupon, with drinks) on the way in (me!). Finished it off with fresh fruit and the pumpkin pie looked good, but really... I couldn't. We're new to the neighborhood and got a coupon in the Valpak mailer, so we went to a late lunch on Saturday. Nice crowd and I liked everything I tried, appreciated that they were changing out the food and keeping everything fresh, and I tried to try it all. Only made it through about 15% of the options, and I'm being generous to myself, I also grudgingly appreciated that my Planet Fitness is down the street and I pretended I was going to go there later, but watched the Tigers beat the Yankees on the couch instead.

It was okay. I know you can't expect too much out of a buffet, but the sushi isn't special, there's no dim sum, and you just don't leave with a "That was great" feeling. If you look at the pictures, that can help you make a decision on what buffet you'd like to go to. It's decent, but I would suggest going somewhere else for better everything.

I tried a number of the buffet items and some sushi when I was there last week. Buffet food is never as good as short order but it's pretty good here. The selection is larger than most local Chinese buffets. I didn't try the grill but what I saw looked good, so maybe next time. I would be a little more impressed with the sushi if I saw it being made. The buffet has a :LARGE selection of western food, but hey, it's Westland. The decor is vastly improved over the previous occupants. Overall, you'll get good (not great) Chinese food at a good price.

I would have given this place a solid 3 stars if I didn't see someone's roach pic. Any who, here's the dilly yo. Prices here are okay, no complaints there. The workers were on the ball with the plate collecting and water pouring, no beefs there. My beef though, it took me what felt like an eternity to find rice. Granted it may have been the dabs I tried beforehand that could have effected my ability to find the rice, but no, it was literally hard to find. At most China Buffs, rice is at every station, hanging out at the end inside a rice cooker (where it would stay moist and fresh). After an 8 minute search, I finally found it, after searching through like 10 stations, I finally found it.......in a place with like 200 diferent food dishes, White Rice was finally found.....on a warming tray, next to all of the soups, dried out as Hell. Who does this? lol At a Chinese Buff, in fact, any Buff, I want carbs, and I most certainly don't want my carbs as dry as Bill Maher's humor. Things I liked- *atmosphere, it was like I died and gone to fake China Heaven *Egg Drop Soup *Being confused when I am living the Regae lifestyle.....I was pondering why a Chinese buffet would call themselves Hibatchi, I was expecting Japanese delights, but no, made me trip mang. -Dumplings - On Point -Egg Rolls - On Flek -Chinese Donuts - I didn't have any, but my friends ate like 50. Things that grinded my gears- -Not to many veggies in the dishes. It was pretty much just meats in sauces and maybe like one chicken and broccoli lesnar. Literally, besides the salad area, the next best veggie option is an egg roll. - Rice Situation. Man, China buffets need rice that's frsh and easy to find, not dried out and cashed. Hiss squared -Hot and Sour Soup - meh

Our family friend lives in Westland and thought this place would be a nice place to meet up and catch up. It is located in those little shopping malls with plenty of parking. This mall is a bit sad and this buffet is the only reason people visit this mall. The interesting thing about this buffet is that you pay before sitting down. The have a little bit of everything - Chinese, sushi, pasta, hibachi grill, ice cream, fruit, and a bit of pastries. Overall, it was alright. The hibachi grill wasn't anything too exciting. I can cook better. The service was pretty good though. They cleared our dishes pretty quickly. Not sure I will come back here.

It's a buffet that's cheap and ok to dine, like any buffet u go to u eat a like and feel stuffed, because of so much msg/Chinese salt, it makes u thirsty. The service is good, a lot of variety, but ones u will experience u will see the reason this place is just OK not great and not bad. Worth a try

We swung in here after receiving a coupon in the mail since we are new to the area, and I'm really glad we checked it out. There are plenty of options of food, and everything is constantly being rotated. The sushi is freshly made by a chef behind the sushi bar, and while it's not the best sushi in the world, it satisfies the craving. There were definitely some items that were better than others... Upon leaving I found myself wishing I tried the hibachi. I think next time I'm going to stick to the hibachi and sushi. For $10 a person for an all you can eat fresh Asian buffet with great service, I'd say it's worth checking out, especially if your stomach is growling and the funds are running low. Probably even better if you check it out when you're hungover... just saying.

I don't really have anything good to say about this place, I am not a fan. The Hibachi Grill is located where the Old Country Buffet used to be. The buffet is very very inexpensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The food is not good, none of it, and nothing seemed like it was fresh to me. PROS: Very inexpensive. Wide variety of choices in food. All you can eat. The decor is nice. CONS: The food is bad. Just bad. The price brings in a lot of people and they try to accommodate this amount of people in to a small space. We went here on a Friday night and kept bumping our chairs into the table behind us. TIPS: If you aren't concerned with quality of food and would strictly just like a cheap meal then you might enjoy this, personally I would recommend going somewhere else.

Ok so being a fan of Chinese buffet's due to the fact it allows to sample varieties of flavors, I would say this restaurant is fantastic for options and quality! They had a fantastic selection of food, they had stir-fry and they had fresh sushi, which I know nothing about so I cannot tell you about it. On top of that, that had a well stocked fresh fruit bar, and a desert table loaded with various cakes and pies. As mentioned by another reviewer, the price was very reasonable, the place was very clean and the staff was very attentive! The location was decent and easy to find, unfortunately its in a mostly unoccupied strip-mall, which is always a bummer to see. Something I found to be very curious...there were no Asian customers, telling me that there may not be a lot of authenticity going on here. When I go to Fortune Buffet on Middlebelt in Livonia, the percentage of Asian patrons are often greater than 50%. There seemed to be a fair amount of senior citizens, who likely frequented the former restaurant in this location, and perhaps they haven't realized it has changed. In any event, this is on the top of my list of favorite Chinese Buffet's.

Just had lunch at Hibachi Grill. The food was OK. I've had better, but I've definitely had worse, too. I would have enjoyed it more if the food was kept at a safe temperature. Despite billowing steam coming from the steam tables, the food was just barely room temperature. That said, there was a huge selection, including sushi, deserts, and even ice cream station. The food, cold though it was, remained pretty well stocked while we were there. I never saw an empty tray. The service was good as well. Servers came by regularly to refill drinks. All in all it was a decent enough experience for the price, but I will probably try other Chinese buffets before coming back here.

The food was accually very good especially for a buffet. The sushi is good and everything else isn't to bad either. There deserts are really good in my opinion and the best part is the ice cream. This isn't the best buffet out there but it really is worth a try.

I've been here 2 times ,but I have s few tips. Don't bother coming for lunch. Food is not nearly as good as dinner serving. Also, it's best to stick with traditional options; some of the exotic options are undercooked or ill prepared. Sushi is a big miss and probably pre packaged. The hibachi is hit or miss but then again it all depends on the quality of the ingredients and your personal choices. Cost is very manageable for any size party and the space is well maintained. Plus they have take out by weight which is always welcome. Good place for a buffet fix.

It feels kind of wrong giving 4 stars to a Chinese buffet but it deserves it. Went there for lunch with my aging uncle. He's old and well pretty cheap so I was leery of the place at first. It's in a strip mall that looks like it could use a face lift. Most of the patrons there for lunch were 60+. I though oh boy this will be interesting. They have all your usual Asian style food including a sushi bar, American style food, and a dessert bar. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted pretty darn good. The crab rangoon and coconut chicken were awesome. For $7.95 a person (including coffee or soft drink) you don't have to like everything to justify the good value. Just as we were leaving a group of young, hungry looking high school boys came in in full attack mode!

I went to Hibachi the other day at approximately 5 minutes to 3. There was one couple ahead of us in line. We order our drinks and she charges me the dinner price. I asked her if those were dinner prices and she said yes it starts at 3. I looked at my watch on my cell phone, it said 2:59. She proceeded to be very rude to me so I let it go because I was with my grandchildren. As I was seated I looked at the receipt. It said 3:09. So beware is all I have left to say. And they won't cheat me out of my money again.

This has to rank right up there with the worst Chinese buffet I have ever ate. If I wasn't hungry I would walk out. Actually, I can't imagine eating worse Chinese.

I've gone 5 times in the first 8 weeks they were open, so I'd say it was a positive experience. I'm not going to go through all of the stations and fixin's, but I will say the selection is very good. Quality is top notch Vegas style! The only thing I haven't tried so far is the hibachi grill itself. I also want to go back to see what's different about dinner. The sushii quality is pretty good too, surprisingly. There is NO reason you should walk away hungry (for the next 3 days) from this place. It's also a good value for the money. One Note: over my past 5 visits, the past two have seemed t like something is slipping. Maybe it's overexposure on my part. Maybe they're settling in and gearing back from the "Grand Opening" mentality. I'm not sure yet, but I'll keep an eye on it and update if I see them slipping at all!

This new buffet is located where the Old Country Buffet used to be, which opened in December of 2012 I believe... My daughters and I went there for lunch, and I was impressed with the selection. They have a little bit of everything: Sushi, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, American & even a dessert bar with ice cream. Lol We got there at 11:15am, so everything was hot & fresh. They did alot of updates to the inside, and it's quite elegant looking.

Ok. I'm a big fan of buffets. I love Chinese food. It's almost hard to not please me when it comes to these two. But, dinner fell flat. Arriving, it'd located in a strip mall with a burnt out end and nothing much else. The parking lot was full. Which i took as a good sign. Walking in,it looked clean, And had nice decor. You pay first,... Which was a smart move on their part, you pay first so your can't get out of paying. The soup was gelatinous and Bland. Most entrees were flavorless. Thebest thing was the stir fry i had the guy make at the hibachi part. Too bad the guy making his plate in front of me took all the shrimp. People raved about the dessert bar, it was a bunch of cakes. Some fruit, and horrible flan. The ice cream was good, :). Go for the superman. I always try to sample it all, so i did. Sushi was eh. Ive had Much better out of a buffet. Rice was hard, so it had been sitting. Fish looked..... Wilted. Treasure shrimp was disgusting. I hate when they don't clean the poop out ofthe shrimp. The beef (prime rib) was ok, the roast beef nasty. The thai chicken tasted like pepper bbq sauce-gross. The fried fish was good though. The crab rangoons were really sweet.... Not sure how i feel on that. The egg roll was a typical take out egg roll-good. The fried rice was pretty alright too. The egg tart was an egg oil cake really-eh. They have a lot of bars,.... But i felt like they lacked variety. A bunch of stuff thrown up there to say they have 250 items. Im sure that there must be a lack of Chinese buffet in the area because this place stayed full the whole time. Im Sorry we visited. But since we were in the area- why not. And now we wish we would have just driven further to our regular one - if you know anything about Chinese food then stay away from this place.

I ate here over a year ago for dinner, and it was bad. I told myself I'd never go back. However, I was driving around today and was hungry, so I thought I stop in for lunch and give this place another chance. That was my first mistake. I tried a sampling of the sushi, for starters. I didn't taste "bad", but it didn't taste like it was freshly made - more like what I expect supermarket sushi to taste like. For the main course, I tried a sampling of various items. Egg Roll - absolutely, the worst egg roll I have ever had, bar none. I've had better egg rolls from the frozen section of the grocery store. Not just bland, but BAD. Hibachi rice - apparently, this is their signature rice. It was stuck together like a big lump, and tasted so bad, I couldn't get past the first taste. Fried rice - this yellow stuff was sort of like fried rice, just not so good. Beef with broccoli - the beef was cooked well enough, but the sauce was bland, and it tasted kind of "old". Chicken(sesame, General Tso, black pepper, Hibachi, and Thai) - it looks like they trim the chicken fresh, from whole chicken. Unfortunately, they don't trim it very well, as I bit into several grisly pieces that I had to spit out. The sauces they use were so average, I wouldn't be surprised if they get it out of a can. Understanding that this is a buffet, the quality isn't expected to be 5 stars, but I've had far better Chinese buffets than this(which isn't hard to do). Simpy put, this is some of the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I will not be back.

Pretty decent food, a wide range for sure. They have the best crab rangoon by far! But for any other food I would go on a busier night when it's being cooked more often, most of my choices were cold when we went during a week night

Ok, this place has become super busy since they opened. Food is decent, but their customer service is a struggle. Had our baptism reception here and the lady was super rude. On top of that, the quote they gave us changed three times, of which we ended up paying regular price. So much for a group discount. Never again.

I'm torn between a three and a four for here. I am tempted to round up as it is cheap and good service, ahem and it's ummm Westland. The sushi is so disappointing though that I will not. We went to A2 to dine at the Hibachi Grill there, apparently they closed Christmas Eve never to return. I had the parents with us (as per usual when our destination is a buffet, sigh) and my dad really wanted to eat Chinese buffet food. I remembered spying this new version on Yelp and seeing similar looking pics to the things he liked eating, similar setup etc. Off to Westland we trucked. First off, this place has a much better layout. More four top tables, booths are roomier too so you can stretch out while you eat, that is key at a buffet. Plenty of sauces to jazz things up are available, that was a big plus. Our waitress was on the frickin ball about refills, we never even had to ask, they appeared like magic. Yes even for water with lemon! Things were cleared in a flash too, it makes for a much more pleasant dining experience. There is more variety for regular food and for the titular hibachi grill. Food is rotated quickly and as in Ann Arbor things are therefore fresher than the typical buffet. They had some pretty great fried wing dings. meaty and perfectly fresh when I swiped them. The dumplings are better here, the fillings just more flavorful. The garlic shrimp was truly pungent. All the regular food items here just had more oomph, which made me happily surprised. The desserts were so much better too which is a huge lure for my husband. My father was over the moon to find a big ham, carve your own beef and *gasp* crab legs. All for $10 apiece (well nine for my senior parents). The disappointment for me here (and my mother) was the meh sushi. Same varietals as the other place but so much more poorly made. They tasted premade, which I think they are as there is no sushi maker in view. Yikes. That is sad! Some of the pieces were thinner than others, both for the maki slices and the slices on the fish itself. The rice had that drier harder quality of a premade :( If they want to maintain the reputation the other place brought they need to have a sushi chef visible on duty making rolls as we watch, period. Its kind of the expectation most of us have now at a better Chinese buffet. I will be back, it's awesome for a cheap buffet if you are not going for sushi in particular. That I would definitely skip. James and my dad give this place a solid 4, my mother a 2 1/2 and I am going with three but hoping they read this and upgrade the sushi end so we can all love it here.

I've been to plenty of Chinese Buffets, this is one it definitely in my top 2 (the other one being a Chinese buffet in Ann Arbor). My boyfriend and I went there for Liner (between lunch and dinner). It was busy! It seems that every time we come inside this place, it's always busy! Whether it's for Liner or dinner, no matter what time, it's always busy. They made the place quite elegant looking. It's very pleasing to the eye. All of the food I had was hot and fresh. That's the best part too. If a place is always busy, that means they are constantly going to be making fresh food! (always keep this in mind for a buffet). Anywho, I've tried this place at least 3 times and each time, I've always been satisfied. I would give it a shot if I were you! It hasn't disappointed me yet and I still plan on returning. TRY IT!

During their grand opening a 1/2 year, ago - the food was very good. I knew they could not maintain this quality of food for such a bargin price. Just went there a couple of weeks, ago. Not surprised at all. Sub quality food with little taste. Sure the number of offerings is impressive but if all you want to do is put the "Feed bag" on and don't care about quality or taste then this place gives you value for your buck. You will leave full but not satisfied at all. Stay away from this place. I'd be o.k. with them raising the price and modeling this restaurant after their other restaurant in Madison Heights - Fuji Buffet.

My rating is 3 but could be a 4 star. This particular strip mall needs some life and I'm hoping that this restaurant brings in a crowd to do just that. I like that you can exit on to the side street where there is a traffic light for Wayne Road. The inside of the building is decorated beautifully and is clean. I am surprised at how large it is, both in seating and in the buffet. You pay the cashier before you enter, so be ready to know what drink you want and have your coupons ready. The flyer I received in the mail says that seniors, military, police and college students get a 10% discount. So, have your I.D. ready. I tried the lunch buffet today. I did not try the sushi or stir fry area, but I saw a lot of people going back for seconds. Otherwise, I thought the selection was good. I particularly liked the coconut shrimp as it was mild and not too sweet. I was hoping for Dim Sum, but didn't find any. I wasn't impressed with any of the chicken dishes, but my taste buds might have been off today. Had the chicken dishes been tasty, this would be a 4 start rating. There were two dessert bars and one had a few flavors of scoopable ice cream, as opposed to the soft serve in many restaurants. The vanilla cake was exceptional. Not too sweet but soft and flavorful. The waitresses were friendly and helpful. I would return for lunch as I feel it is a good product at a good price. Not great, but good.

We went since we had a coupon. It was a two sided coupon which had one location on one side and another location on the other side. So, guess what, we brought the wrong one.The restaurants must be related to each other but the cashier was having none of it. She tried to rush us to pay even thought there was no one in line. The food was pretty good though, but I wish they would have told you which sushi was which. I could recognize some of it but not all of it. That would of been a big plus! All in all we would go again.

TRY IT!

The employees here have the worst attitude that I have ever seen. I would expect that the service would be better if they want to keep customers.

Worth a try

Ok, this place has become super busy since they opened. Food is decent, but their customer service is a struggle. Had our baptism reception here and the lady was super rude. On top of that, the quote they gave us changed three times, of which we ended up paying regular price. So much for a group discount. Never again.

The worst restaurant ever. Hostess has a real bad attitude and gives orders to customers. Lacks basic hospitality skills. HORRIBLE!!!!!!

Pretty decent food, a wide range for sure. They have the best crab rangoon by far! But for any other food I would go on a busier night when it's being cooked more often, most of my choices were cold when we went during a week night

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
