This place definitely deserves a review and I will be happy to be the one to give it. I have been going to the auction house since I was a boy too young to remember. This place is a small little building in the middle of a gravel parking lot between old Stamm's equipment farm repair and the Wayland livestock auction barn. This place opens every day before the sun rises for farmers and retirees whose body clocks will never allow them the chance to miss a sunrise. The same women have been serving me all my life and the style of the interior never changes. The same linoleum counters and stools are still there and will probably grace a local museum for all the hands who have touched them. Only locals know about the place and it's a little like the show "Cheers" where everybody knows your name. There is a lot of talk on hunting, local news, the weather, the crop, the economy and the family. But anyone is welcome and there is always plenty of food to be cooked on the open stove. There is no menu and the cook will prepare anything you can imagine for a farmers breakfast at an extremely reasonable price. Eggs any way you like them over corned beef hash, potato wedges, homemade breads and toast, pancakes, sausages, pie, juices, and coffee. Bring your own mug for top-offs. If you are traveling down the highway and are looking for a good breakfast, this is the place to see. I have no idea how long this place has been here or how long it will stay, but it is a place as familiar as my bed at home and a part of the places where I grew to be a man. Enjoy.
