Greek Cuisine
Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

My second time here. The service was excellent, just like the first time. The wait staff was very attentive. The food is always great. This was a nice find while visiting family in Michigan. The service was excellent. Daughter loved the burrito, the greek salad was nice and the Jalapeno burger was excellent. We will come back to eat again. The second time I had thee chicken breast dinner with veggies and rice. The place was packed and the service was fast and food was solid.

News for gluen free... GF tortilas were on the menu board tonight! I'll just bet they are good! Tostada Supreme was awesome!

Flaming cheese was delicious . Nice size portion of cheese and was reasonable in price. Had a gyro and my wife had a chicken breast gyro. Bathroom needs fixing of leaky pipes Chicken gyro was much better as the gyro meat was grilled and not from the rotrissery. They have a lot of Mexican on the menu. First time I ever had chips and salsa with Greek food. Kinda divey

I like this restaurant very much. But the service isn't that great. I have ordered a carry out four times now (trying to give them a chance) and they get it wrong each time. There is two waitresses one is super sweet and one is very nonchalant about getting your order correct. Take my advice if you order over the phone make sure you ask them to repeat it once or twice and YOU MUST ASK FOR UTENSILS.

I was so disappointed! I was set on Mexican and chose to go here instead of the restaurant on M-59 (which was wonderful), since this one is closer to my school. Yuck! I ordered a veggie burrito and got what resembled an omelette doused in muenster cheese (???) There was nothing pico about the Gallo either! I am use to Mexican in southwest, so this Waterford rendition was horrible to me. Didn't get anything Greek so I can't speak to that portion of the menu. Will never return.

Great little diner. We get breakfast to carry out all the time. The greek salad with grilled chicken is also a favorite. Mexican side of the menu is pretty standard, tasty but doesn't stand out above the other local Mexican restaurants. The chorizo omelet and huevos con chorizo are awesome though. Friendly staff, very good service when dining in.

Nîce local spot. Broad menu. Fun touches...like red and green salsa with chips. Great pies. Everything done with love and appreciation of the dish itself. Not haute cuisine but not at all pedestrian. Friendly staff.
(2)Shelley Z.
Good little diner with lots of variety. They are Greek-Mexican-American so there's a lot to choose from on the menu. I've only eaten in once but its pretty close to my home so I'll order take out every once and awhile. The staff is always very friendly and I never wait long for my food.

I think the folks who gave one star reviews had the wrong expectations of what this place is. It's a family diner in a strip mall. It's not run by an executive chef, it's run by a local couple (a Greek married to a Mexican, oddly enough), the food is good, and the service is friendly. It's one of our go-to's for a quick workday lunch. The prices are fair and I like to give my money to local working folks. Cheers!

This place is great, we get our work lunches here all of the time. They have a good selection of all kinds of food. Katie & Shannon are great servers, who are polite, & take care of their customers.

This place is the pefect breakfast spot. They have everything you can think of. A great little joint to eat out at.

I've recently discovered this place. I have enjoyed everything I have ordered over the course of several visits-Greek salad with chicken, saganaki, chicken tenders, and fried ice cream. The menu is very large-they have something for everyone. Looking forward to trying more menu items. I like that they give chips and salsa when you dine in (not sure about carry outs). Only negative is they need to replace their booths-a bit uncomfortable.

We love going here for the great breakfasts, lamb shank dinners, wrap sandwiches, everything!! Such a great neighborhood place-terrific wait staff-never disappointed!

I like this place, I think its a better Mexican place than a Greek place . But the menu Is big and varried, everyone should find something they like. I really like the crunchie tacos for dinner, and they have a breakfast challenge meal - mount Olympus. The crunchie tacos are a floor based shell, deep fried. The fillings are either beef or chicken - I prefer the chicken which a stewed version - good flavours. You can order just the tacos, but I recommend you order the meal, so you get rice and beans too. Watch out for the pic-a-giyou that comes with the tacos - its hot.

Ordered the Chorizo & Eggs this morning and really enjoyed it. I will be back soon!

This place is great! A true blend of Mexican and Greek cuisines on one menu...along with great breakfast choices as well. My wife had a "Chicken Fruit Salad" that was so good she's still talking about it, it was filled with lots of fresh fruit! I had a "Gyro Platter" special that had twice the meat I was expecting with onions and tomato on top . A surprise was, it was not wrapped in a pita, which turned out to be a great way of eating it, with pita and tzatziki sauce on the side . The regular Gyro is made in the traditional manner. Will definitely be going back. Good service and family run.

I remember when Greek Jalapeno first opened and my family decided to try it for snicks - wow were we blow away with how amazing their food was! It didn't take long for my sister and I to become regulars. I absolutely love their greek and mexican combination platters, and am a sucker for their smothered chicken. If you want authentic greek and mexican food, Greek J's is the place to go. For those feeling ambitious, they have a breakfast challenge that will get your picture added to the wall if you eat all the food. For dessert, try their apple empanada, fried ice cream, or homemade rice pudding. I just wish they still did funnel cakes... my sister and I were Guinea pigs when they tried that dessert, and we loved it, but they don't have it anymore which is a bummer, but rest assured, they have plenty other amazing desserts to choose from! If you've never been here, you're missing out! To anyone who rated Greek J's poorly, you either came on an off day or are an idiot (sorry) because the owners are the nicest people ever and the food is delicious, and I'm not just some local who has never had "real" mexican or greek food either so...

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS! Yep. I had such high expectations after reading the reviews on yelp- what a joke. There is no liquor license, which could have been overlooked if the food was good. It wasn't. We were seated at a dirty table, next to a table full of disruptive kids (which we found out later belonged to a member of the staff) without silverware. We had the quesadilla supreme & super burrito - both were beyond bland, I've seriously had better food at Taco Bell. We love to try out new restaurants around the area however, we will not be back.... Do NOT waste your time here...

Pretty standard - definitely would have liked to see some fusion on that menu. As I've said in my previous reviews, I'm into fusion. The place has a mascot all over the menu and walls. It's a jalepeno pepper with a mustache and sunglasses. The veggie burrito was decent, sauteed spinach with onions and cilantro... plenty of rice, beans and cheese to fill out the rest. Hands down the best Greek/Mexican pseudo-fusion restaurant in Waterford.
(3)Jeff K.
Either I went on a bad night, or the locals never had decent Mexican before. Everything we had was very bland, no seasoning at all. The Greek stuff may be better, but the other tables around us didn't seemed wowed either. Better to just go to a full Mexican restaurant, rather then some odd fusion of Greek/Mexican. Also note, no liquor license.

We love this place! Some days it feels like a second home, the food is amazing, the price is just right, and you feel apart of the family here. One of my favorite things about this place is I can order Mexican, or Greek. Although the hard part is making a decision on what to get, we have never been disappointed with a meal here. This is our go to place. Tip: You must try the deserts! They are amazing, my favorites are the canoli pie and the cheesecake.

I ordered 2 lamb gyros and a chicken. The lamb was a precooked frozen lamb. It was cold when I got it I was so disgusted. They don't do the traditional shaved lamb like you would expect. The chicken just look and tasted like ordinary baked chicken breast. Nothing I would expect from a Greek restaurant. They should stick to Mexican food. I don't recommend anyone eating there. Also the hosts are rude and unprofessional. I would love the health department to check them out. Ew!

Unfortunately I live to close to this place. It's been good so far. Love the Mexican breakfasts there. Lots of food for the money. Wait staff very nice. Needs a little more polishing, owners like to sit in eating area, not very professional. But they are very nice. Great salsa.

This place is fabulous. Great food, great service. Service is very friendly and fast. Great fresh food. You can get Mexican, Greek, and American food....all of which is delicious. If you don't see it on the menu, just ask. They will cook it for you. This family is dedicated to providing a great atmosphere and great food.

This is a hidden gem in the Waterford/White Lake area adjacent to the OCC Highland campus... we were pleasantly surprised by this little hole in the wall. I think you will be too. The service was fast and friendly. We ordered the fajita burrito on the reccomendation of both our waitress and another guest. It was delicious as promised. Fresh ingredients, great flavor - It's a family owned restaurant, and everything on the menu is made in house, and you can really tell they take pride in the preparation of their food. We also ordered the Greek Jalepeno Melt - it sounded so yummy and we weren't disappointed. We left feeling very full and very pleased that we found a new place to frequent. If you're looking for a fresh, tasty and affordable meal, in a quaint and cozy environment - this is it.

I didn't have high expectations but went with my dad for lunch on Saturday by his recommendation. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is big, not unlike a Coney Island, but with a Greek and Mexican twist. For example, they serve chips and salsa. My dad got a gyro. He loved it. I got a cup of Lemon Chicken Rice soup and the Chicken fruit Salad. Soup was good, a little creamier than I've had in the past but I would definitely eat it again. The salad was awesome. Their chicken is really good. Almost like a peppered chicken. The atmosphere is a tiny step above hole in the wall but I very much enjoyed my lunch there. ***forgot to mention: breakfast served all day!

Nice Blend of Greek and Mexican , spiced (and priced) right and good portions. Breakfast is outstanding. Try the Mt. Olympia and bring a friend to help. The only negative i can say is they don't carve the gyro meat off the spindle it is the pre-patty stuff you find at most coneys. My Greek uncle is rolling in his grave and he is not even dead yet. That being said a great little restaurant for the money.

The food is great, not to mention a former mexico lindo cook. It is amazing how they can make these unique combinations taste so good. It could be a little bit bigger, though.
