I have never been to China Town in NYC and had the "ohhh so famous" Chinese Food there.. however this is my favorite Chinese Food Joint! Their won ton soup is my comfort food, egg foo young is fantastic.. moo sho pork! Yep!! My family orders from this place on the holidays and everybody feels fat and happy after the meal. I have had very few "sub par" experiences from this place and I've been eating here for 15 years. I think the prices are fair, it's fairly close to my house (hey, it helps right?) and it beats the hell outta the "other place" down the street that I used to work for and you don't even want to KNOW what goes on in that kitchen and how awful their food tastes in comparison. My little brother had a friend who worked at this place, and the kid said that this place was very clean in the kitchen and they do not recycle their rolls or their rice or cookies like some OTHER chinese joints I know of..tsk tsk dirty dirty.. I actualy want some of their food right now, if they delivered, they'd get 5 stars...

I feel so bad for you people. This place is terrible. I grew up in NY. Ate some of best for amazing prices. This place would close on the second day. My son calls it Eastern Hurl. Here's my plan...boycott. Then maybe we'd get a decent Chinese restaurant in Clarkston.

This was My First Time, My Sister Loves This Place, It was not Bad. I got the Fish&chips because I'm not A fan of Chinese food, but the food was good tried their Chicken was not to bad. I do however not know what their Tarter Sauce was though looked kinda weird so I just grabbed Ranch from My Fridge as we ordered Carry-Out. But Though I only give it Four Stars It's Not Bad for It being My first time .

Worst restaurant experience and food I've ever had. The wait staff proffered absolutely no personality or congeniality. It was like being served by the walking dead. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor. Worse, my date and I felt ill afterwards. The hot and sour soup and cookie were the only highlight. This place was extremely disappointing. Will never go back.

I worked at Eastern Pearl as a waiter twenty five years ago. Was my first time back. Came here with my daughter because she loves Chinese and I wanted to show her where I started waiting tables. Let me start off by saying that my twenty six years in the industry, by far the cleanest restaurant I have ever worked at. I started of with my favorite soup anywhere, hot and sour. Was as good as I had remembered. Nice portion, perfect blend of sour and spice. Enjoyed every drop. For my entree I ordered what was my favorite dish when I worked there, Seafood warr barr. I ordered it hot but it was kind of mild. Only knock I could say with my experience that night but I cant complain because I know that I could have asked for some Szechuan pepper oil and added some heat myself. Presentation was exactly as I had remembered, being served on a hot plate with the seafood and veggies served over the warr barr rice. The huge shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. Everything about the veggies and seafood was fresh. My daughter ordered General Tsaos chicken. She loved everything and offered me a bite and though I declined, the food was beautiful and the broccoli was as green as could be. The owners are fantastic people who are as real and true as it gets. I don't make it to that side of the town much but I will be making trips there just to enjoy a great meal.

It was clean. HOWEVER the food was not tasty. My dad got an egg foo young dish and I got a tofu dish. He said his was horrible - I didn't taste it but it looked strange. It was bright orange? I searched through my sauce and saw a lot of broccoli but where was the tofu? I found only one small piece. The egg roll was burned up!!! I think they threw it in the fryer and forgot about it. The rice seemed fresh, however it is sad to think the only good part of the meal was the rice. The only other customer in the builiding was a lady that came in and picked up a carry out...I wanted to like it - it is in a great spot right on Dixie. But I have to give it a "boo".

I have eaten here many many times over the years. Regardless if other experiences I have always been treated well and given delicious, fresh food. I would recommend to anyone. Try the Shanghai noodles.

My father and I have be coming here for almost 15 years.. Always great service. Friendly staff. I've gotten the same dish every time I've come here. The house special Lo Mein. Huge sea scallops, jumbo shrimp, roasted pork and the most tender chicken. With ramen noodle in a clear broth.. My father always get the Beef and scallops. Soups, perfect and great egg rolls. I live in Portland now and when ever I come home to visit. We go straight to Easter Pearl.

This is my favorite restaurant on the planet. Hands down. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. I always try new dishes and each one is delicious. I've never had a bad meal at Pearl. The waitstaff is amazing. I can't wait to come back.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
