Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I've been here several times and every time everything is really good. The first time we went, I got the burrito Grande with steak. The steak was amazingly marinated and very tender in nice bite size pieces. I've ordered the California burrito, which was really good with a bit of heat. My friend tried their quesadillas and loved them. I've also gotten and loved the cabrito enchilado aka marinated lamb, enchiladas de mole, and sopes. Their horchata (sweetened rice water) is really good as well. The service is generally good, with an attentive wait staff. The first time we went, the owner came out and asked us how everything was.

I went to Plaza Garibaldi (which sounds Italian rather than Mexican to me) on a Friday at 1:45pm. I was the only customer in the restaurant for a good part of my meal, although there was someone at the bar, and when I was nearly done, a man & his son came in. I almost didn't go in because there were no cars in the parking lot. But, since the reviews have been so good, I decided to try it. They have a large menu -- pretty much anything you'd want. They brought chips and the 3 salsas right after I sat down. My only complaint with that is that the chips weren't warm. I ordered the lunch combination special, which came with a beef soft taco (2 pieces of the tortilla, which i didn't quite understand), a chicken tostada (although I think they called it something else) and a cheese enchilada, along with rice, beans, tomato, lettuce and sour cream, as well as a lime. It was all quite tasty, and at $7.49, rather a bargain as well. I really should've taken some of it home, but it tasted so good that I ate it all!

I have been here several times now and really want to rate it higher. The food is very good. The service is some of the slowest and inattentive around. Please fix this! I want to come back but it is far too frustrating.

I keep coming back, and it is great to see the restaurant thrive. I've tried at least 6 of the entrees and in each case, the food was high quality, with effort taken with each dish to look as pleasant in presentation and prepared to perfection. Clean, fast service, friendly staff and great prices! You have to try this place!

I really wanted to like this place but when I bit into bone grissle in my chimichanga, I couldn't eat anymore. The salsa was very good.

Had the Jalisco Combo (steak taco, chicken sope and cheese quesadilla) very good portion size, very fresh and flavorful. The three salsas served with chips are all fantastic.

Delicious, authentic Mexican dishes. They actually accompany the entree with real, grilled Jalapenos (no canned, pickled peppers here). Margaritas were great and the service was excellent! The chef even checked up on us and asked us to come back! In the Lakes area, good ethnic cuisine is a challenge to find. Do yourselves a favor and try this place :)

Excellent food, service and an owner who cooks and bartends. Priced very reasonable. Great salsas too. Go there. Better than the other mexican places in area.

This place is the best... It's like being in Mexico but 5 min from home. Food is awesome, margaritas are great and service awesome too. Highly recommend

This place is excellent! The owner is so nice, the waitstaff is great - everyone is so friendly and makes you feel like family. The food is incredible! The avocado salsa is the best ever, but if you care for something else, they give you two others with chips - complementary! The menu has a ton of choices and if you have a special request or addition they are happy to do that for you. Oh and did I mention daily specials and happy hour? Score! It has been a long time since there has been an authentic, great tasting Mexican restaurant in the Waterford area and this one is sure to be around for a long time at the rate they are going. Thank goodness!

Chicken fajitas were incredibly tasty! The complimentary chips and salsas rated a 5 - the owner, Beto, knows his Mexican cuisine and his new restaurant should be a local hit. Look forward to more tasty experiences.

This is my first ever review, so hopefully I don't leave anything important out. I was in Pontiac for jury duty and saw this place was close by on yelp. Casual looking restaurant; probably was a bar or similar restaurant previously. Went around noon on a Friday and had no trouble getting a seat. Chips and salsa are free. There are three types of salsa that provided a nice variety of taste and spice. I mostly mixed the lighter red and creamy green salsas, with a little bit of the darker, spicier 3rd salsa. For food I ordered the taco dinner plate (they did have a lunch plate but it comes with 2 tacos while the dinner has 3) Mexican style, with chicken. Food was ready in less than five minutes. It comes with three authentic corn shelled tacos and rice and beans. The tacos were absolutely delicious and had cilantro and large flavorful cooked onions (and some small raw onions). I topped them with salsa and had trouble keeping up my self control to not devour them in less than a minute. The beans were flavorful, and the rice was typical Mexican restaurant fare. The price with tax was $7.95. The quantity is mediocre to slightly below average, which is the only semi-complaint I had. The lunch meal with 2 tacos would not be enough to fill me up (I'm average size and pretty much average appetite). They did have a sign for specials for each weekday (minus Friday) and I did notice that Thursdays are $0.99 taco days. If i was ever in town on a Thursday, I would definitely go and order 4 or 5 tacos and not worry about ordering a meal! They do sell alcohol, but I have no idea what the prices or types available are.

I may be jumping the gun on this one since it hasn't been open long, but this might be my new favorite mexican spot. My first experience was a little strange since we were one of two groups in the place. The server didn't seem to know much about the food or drinks but was very friendly and honest so we didn't mind. Plus they just opened so give them a break. The chips came with three salsas which were all amazing and then came the food. I usually don't like going to the same restaurant two nights in a row but the food was so good i wanted to move in. Since then iv been here several times and i feel like every time gets better. The food seems like a good mix of americanized and authentic items, and everything is very affordable. They have specials every night on food and drinks and on mondays everything on the inside of the menu is $6!!! Bam! The owner (or at least I think he is) always makes sure he comes over to say hello and is constantly helping wherever he can. The only flaw so far is the fact that iv never seen a permanent bartender. The servers end up making the drinks and it can take a while sometimes but im sure they will fix that with time.
