If you're looking for fresh authentic food, this is the spot!! Sapori opened a few months ago and I have to say, everything is perfect! From the ambience, to the food, to the service, everything was just perfect! They have a cozy out door seating with a nice little outdoor fireplace which gave the spot a really modern look. Immediately when walking in you feel like family. Everyone was very personable from the owner to the chef to the staff. It felt like home! I must say, the food was mouth watering. Everything on the menu was appetizing and there was nothing that we ordered that we didn't like. We started off with octopus salad which words cannot express how amazing it was. I've tried my fair share of octopus salad and this takes the cake! We also got sausage and peppers which was very flavorful. As my meal, I got the chicken and artichoke pasta. I must say, they do not skimp out on the amount of food they give you! It was a large portion which ended up being boxed to take home. The pasta was bursting with flavor from the artichokes, the sauce and the amazing chicken. Along with our meals, we got soup and salad which was delicious. We were a party of four who all ordered more than one drink, two apps and 4 entrees. You would think for all the food we ordered that it would be a ridiculous amount of money. Surprisingly, it was extremely reasonable. Overall, I give this place two thumbs up! If you're looking for good food and a great atmosphere, this is the place to be! Trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.

We tried the new brunch yesterday. The service was great and the food was fantastic. We had the Rustica Fritatta which was delicious and filling.. Also try the Bloody Mary garnished with Italian salami, Parmesan cheese and chilled shrimp.. Could have easily made a meal out of a couple of those!

Great experience overall. Awesome server and polite hostess. Very aware of dietary restrictions and made every effort to ensure that there was plenty of dairy and gluten free options. Good was outstanding - great tomato dipping sauce and home made bread.

The guy in the kitchen can cook, no doubt. The atmosphere is nice and small, inviting. I asked for a special made dish, not on the menu the chef was happy to accommodate, but the only downfall was that the veal I asked for was a bit tough. The pasta was evidently homemade along with most everything else. Wonderful calamari, not greasy, just right. Good wine list as well. First time here, will be back!!

Omg!! I'm in love!! The best chef ever, serving the best food in all of michigan!! Chef Salvatore came out to chat for a bit before getting back to the kitchen. My husband and I spent our anniversary night there and just loved the food, atmosphere and staff! Kayla was an awesome server and the owner Frank came to talk to us and was a great guy!! Gonna have to come here weekly! Absolutely our new favorite restaurant! If you want great food and great service, come out and support authentic Italian food at its best!! You'll fall in love too!!

What an undiscovered gem. Excellent dishes, courteous service (no hard sell). Attractive dish presentations with timely well spaced arrival intervals between courses. There was and pressing need to move us along. Will visit again. Is there a better compliment? Let me know. Thanks Sapori!!

The service and food of this place is exceptional. The server definitely know what's in the food and recommendations. They have a set menu as well as a new menu everyday. All the ingredients are fresh and made in house. This place is pretty impressive. We got the prosciutto fig which came with sweet figs and prosciutto, with a side of cheese. The flavors blends so well together and was just delicious. We also got the pork appetizer, might be on a daily menu. Not that was so delicious! The pork was tender and that sauce was creamy and good. I usually stay away from pork because of the fats, i didnt feel like there was much of it or even had that fat taste. Just so delicious. For entrees we got the half stuffed shells, which has a sweet ricotta cheese inside. It was definitely different from what we've all had, and i didny expect it to be sweet. But it was good. U can tell the pasta was homemade. Our other favorite dish was the duck. The orange sauce is so delicious! The duck is tender and has a lighter duck taste than usual. And the mushrooms on top, it was just amazing. The sauce definitely made the dish, it was creamy and has orange flavors. We also tried their shrimp. Its jumpo! So good and huge. Cant wait to go back and try their other dishes. I love that they use fresh ingredients and make everything in house. Very impressed and highly recommend.

I really enjoy Sapori Italian restaurant. The owners heritage and mine are close, my parents are both from the same small town in Sicily, which has certain dishes particular to that region which I recognize on the menu. One particular menu item, which I really enjoy is the chicken or veal spedini. I prefer the veal, which is usually more tender or flavorful than the chicken but usually the chicken is on the menu. Eggplant caponata is another traditional appetizer from that region, very good. My husband also enjoys the Cassatelli style ravioli. It's not my favorite dish but he enjoys this. My mother used to make a fried Cassatelli, I would love to see that on the menu. The dinner entrees come with choice of soup and salad, and the salad comes with a lovely olive oil and lemon house dressing. I enjoy their minestrone soup. I have been to Sapori about six times and each time has been consistently good.

This is a great place for a nice meal. You can tell the food is prepared by a real chef who takes care in preparing fresh and unique dishes, as compared to more commercial places like olive garden. Our experience was that the taste is more delicate flavours than traditional heavy handed places. I'm sure that turns some people off who are used to much stronger flavoring on everything. My biggest criticism is the serving size on some of the dishes. Appetizers can be rather small. The lake perch dinner is great, but very small portion. They could easily improve that with a small size of pasta and a veggie like green beans (with almost negligible cost).

We ate at Sapori yesterday for the first time and had a very good experience. We arrived just before the dinner crowd and were seated immediately. The restaurant interior was lovely. The waitstaff was very attentive and professional. I was very surprised to find a vegetarian soup on the menu. I would have preferred traditional eggplant parmesan (what I expected) to the eggplant bake I received. It wasn't bad it just wasn't the dish I've grown to love eating at Italian restaurants. I will def come back and try another item from the menu someday.

Heard lots of things about this newer restaurant. Heard they had pretty good food but they were a little bit expensive. Finally brought the family out for a dinner. Friday evening 6 PM we walk in and the place is half empty. We were surprised because everyone says this place is always crowded. The hostess asks if we have a reservation and starts this routine pretending that the place is completely packed. She walked around for about five minutes "looking to see if they have something available for us". One group walks in while we are waiting and they get seated. The waitresses are looking at us and asking us if they can help us. The hostess comes back over again and we ask do they not have a table for us are they too busy? Our seven-year-old daughter is looking around saying they have lots of tables look to sit at and points out 8 of them. After ten minutes of this we decided to just leave. We will never come back again. Great job! We're going to Da Francesco's or Lucianos for half the price and maybe better food. Certainly we'd get better service. So go ahead treating people like that Sapori ...you're a legend in your own mind!

I must admit, I was not sure what to expect from an upscale Italian Restaurant in a strip mall with a 7-11. However , I will eat my humble pie. The decor , staff & food were exceptional. Came in this past Sunday for lunch at 1pm. The hostess kiosk was staffed & were promptly seated in a nice window view booth. Although the gave us the dinner menu , I asked Jodi our server for the lunch menu. She replied we only serve lunch mon-fri oh boo! So we embarked on the pasta specials. $13 choice of 5-6 noodles & 4-6 sauces and included Soup -Salad And a very delightful bread basket & amogio sauce The Bread was very good, textured & sturdy The amogio sauce was also very good & had a nice zip to it. The Chicken Tortellini was FABULOUS! Note: whomever made all three of these had a heavy hand when it came to salt not worthy discounting a star but you should be forewarned. Salad: A+ For originality as the lemon flavored dressing was the perfect compliment to the greens and veggies. The Pastas The bride ordered : PRIMAVERA Garlic & oil with mixed vegetables with LInguine A++ exceeded her expectations & she had enough for leftovers. I ordered the : BOLOGNESE Meat sauce with Angel Hair It was also very very good! Jodi was a very polite-knowledgeable server. The restaurant was Very Inviting ,Clean, Trendy, Spotless & A Classic Design. With multiple Italian offerings in Shelby Township , this was a nice breather to get away from Vandyke & Hall Road.

Someone once told me, maybe it was my barber or the square headed dude who used to spot me in the gym, that a southern Italian restaurant can be judged based on its zuppa di pesce. And this place did not disappoint. I haven't been to the Amalfi coast or anything or the sort, but the clams, squid, mussels, shrimp and whatever else they threw in were pretty amazing. I wolfed it down and got a whole bunch of red sauce on my white shirt, and looked every bit the part of a ravenous beast with an insatiable appetite who lacks any sort of social decorum. I'm fine with that, especially since I was among my equally uncouth contemporaries of Northern Macomb County -- home of big hair, blue eye shadow and strip mall restaurants, like this one, that manage to deliver the goods. Anyhow, the waitress was super friendly and prompt, and didn't even sigh when I mispronounced practically everything on the menu. The appetizer was absolutely lovely -- a plate of lightly breaded artichoke hearts topped with capers and a lemon sauce, that probably has an official name, but I'm the same idiot who spent a fortune to attend art school, so you can't expect me to master multi-syllable Mediterranean words. I know a lot of my friends from the city won't come here and will offer a plethora of excuses, primarily focused on the right-winged politics of the area or how there isn't a decent mixology place within 10 miles. Whatever reservations you hold, get over them, make the drive and give this place a chance.

First I wanted to start off by saying I'm not a real Italian food lover, but. This place exceed my expectations. We had the Caprese Salad for an appetizer and it was big enough for the for of us to share and it was delicious. Basil infused olive oil, with balsamic vinegar, tender tomatoes and soft mozzarella. I will review my main course. I had the build your own pasta. I choose linguini with two sauces, garlic & olive oil with red pepper flakes and pesto. Pasta was cooked to perfection and the sauces combined were a home run. You also get a cup of soup which I had the minestrone and it was filled with large chucks of veggies and very good. It did lack a little bit of salt. It also came with a house salad with a lemon vinaigrette which was very good. For dessert, I can't remember the name, but it was a hazelnut ice cream topped with chocolate and powdered sugar. That by far was my favorite. I could eat that everyday. Even though the restaurant was packed, our waiter Travis did a phenomenal job of taking care of us. Drinks refilled with out asking and he even made a foil swan with my leftovers. All in all a fabulous meal well worth the price. Definitely will be back.

I think the ownership did a really nice job with this location. The outdoor patio, the fake grass to simulate a picnic area, modern and rustic touches on the interior, all very nice and I'm happy there is a new Italian restaurant in the area like this. The hostess and waitress are all very kind and inviting as well. The rating is more about the food and the price you pay for it. In my opinion when you charge as much as some of the best Italian restaurants around then your food should also be some of the best around. I ordered the chicken parmigiana. It wasn't hot when it arrived, it was warm. The chicken wasn't juicy and tender, it was kind of dry and tough. I wasn't happy with my entree at all. The moigue sauce served with the bread was pretty good although it was a bit on the salty side and so was the tortellini soup. I'm not saying I won't go back but I am saying that I will not frequent here because I just wasn't wowed by the experience. Who knows, maybe they will change my mind next time, if they do I will update. Cheers!

The service was decent, food tasted good however I had two tough pieces of the lemon chicken and it ruined the course. The drink menu stated $35 for a bottle of wine but I was charged $40. Won't go back
This place is a joke and please don't compare them to Da Francesco's or Luciano's !!! They are over priced !!! small portions !!! and who does not give you a taste of their pasta @ sauce in a Italian themed restaurant Wow !! Service was fairly good in spite of owners not paying attention to dining room while they are feasting in a booth at peak dinner hour !!! Once again WOW !!!!! Do your self a favor go to A Real Italian Restaurant one of the two I have already mention.

Wow!!! This place beats any Italian Restaurant around. I started off the meal with the Italian & Peppers appetizer which was very good my daughter really enjoyed their Chicken Tortellini Soup. We each had the Filet which melted in our mouths and had so much flavor no steak sauce was needed. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly even the owner Frank came over and introduced himself. Our Server Travis was fantastic!! Didn't save room for dessert but looking forward to taking a trip out again and sit on their beautiful patio. Thanks again Sapori for a job well done!

Delicious. I've been to many metro area restaurants, this place stood out enough for me to make my first yelp review. Everything tastes fresh, owners were very friendly going to tables meeting people & shaking hands but never felt like a chain restaurant manager checking on tables. Make a reservation, but the selection of drinks at the bar make even that enjoyable. Kind of pricey but nothing on the menu was outrageous. Awesome place

Sapori was GREAT! The first time we did a carry-out order. The food was fantastic so we decided to try ordering-in. It was a WONDERFUL experience. The food was great all the way around, the staff was very friendly and the environment was nice. I would highly recommend Sapori to anyone looking for some great Italian food! They are a little pricey, but I would say it's definitely worth your money.

Excellent Italian with a great menu. My husband and I are both Italian and we don't typically go out to Italian restaurants (after all, whose cooking is better than mom's!). This place did not disappoint and now i have an Italian restaurant that I look forward to going to. I had pasta with bolognese and my husband had veal Marsala. Dinners come with soup and salad, which is quite nice. Your meal starts with great bread and amoglio sauce - what a treat! Many dishes have a sicilian flare, a nice change to see on the menu! Oh, and they have gluten free noodles!!! We will absolutely be back!

First time and place was surprisingly very good! The Bolganese was excellent and bonus for having Griffin Claw and Dragonmead on tap! Only a couple miles away, found a nice italian place close by. Prices a little up there.

For the life of me I can't understand these rave reviews. Ate there last night and this place is awful. The only thing good I can say is that we were seated quickly, 5 minutes. The service was very slow and our waitress seemed as though she were a recruit from big boy, in fact all of the wait staff appeared so. She kept saying "oh let me go get my paper so I can write that down, haven't had my coffee in a while". Slow with drinks, slow with appetizers, I wanted the perch and was told they ran out. Really on a Thursday night? Took over an hour to get the main course. Everyone around us that sat after us seemed to be getting their food promptly. She would also disappear for long periods of time. The calamari had no substance, it was deep fried shriveled little pieces almost crumbs actually. The chicken tortellini soup was just sick, smelled and tasted like cinnamon and moth balls. My husband ordered eggplant parm, which was slimy unbreaded thin slices of eggplant drowning in sauce. He politely told the waitress he did not care for it and suddenly the guy sitting at the table next to us stands up raises his voice and shouts at my husband "I'M THE OWNER AND THAT'S AUTHENTIC SICILIAN EGGPLANT PARMESIAN, THAT'S HOW IT'S MADE". We were both stunned by his rude defensive reaction. I thought he had a very bad attitude for a business owner. That's all he did about it to. Stood up and shouted then sat back down. I will not return to this place, the service sucked, the food sucked and the owner is an A hole.

This is one of those places, that you walk out telling yourself, I cant believe I just paid for that meal. The chicken, tasted and looked like hungry jack, the salads looked great but was lemony flavor gone wrong. 2 star because the appetizer was great, the waitress was nice. Wanted to like this place cause there isnt much around, but i felt robbed after i left and inspired a sign up on yelp

We had a great time this time. My husband had a veal, I had a pasta. All were excellent. We were sure the unfortunate experience of last time was because of the waiter we had. Wonderful restaurant.

We decided to give the restaurant another try tonight after a terrible experience last week with our group of four. Trust us - we really wanted to like it as there aren't a lot of decent restaurants on this side of town. So we went in with a fresh mind tonight willing to give it another try. Unfortunately, the second attempt failed as well. Pros: Amogghio sauce served with bread basket, cooked veggies, wine selection, and desserts Cons: First visit last week the entrees were just ok (I'm being generous) - soup bland, calamari soggy, sausage and peppers had no kick, veal marsala served cold, scallops raw and had to be sent back, pasta sapori dish cold and tasteless. Tonight - flatbread served uncooked and doughy. Service slow both nights (surprising since there are a surplus of workers standing or walking around doing absolutely nothing - amazing number of staff for such a small restaurant), watched other groups (over 20 people) turned away at door tonight due to lack of reservations while open bar seats and two bar area tables were never offered or suggested (guess you will never see those folks again either). On our first visit we counted 4 other tables served drinks, appetizers, and/or bread baskets before our group was served - every table arrived between 10-25 minutes after we were seated. We heard other tables complain about quality of food and service as well. Unfortunately, we won't be returning and based upon out observations many others won't as well. It is a shame. Hopefully, Sal and Marco will read this and make an effort to step things up - even staff were bickering about who was going to clear a table or remove dirty glasses from the bar so the next customer could be seated. As I said, we desperately wanted for it to be a hit or even slightly above average.

Good food. Nice and simple menu. However, the service was really bad. We had a party of 4, ordered drinks , appetizer , bottle of wine, and entrees. Had to ask server 2 times for bread basket. Had to ask 2 times for water. Forgot a glass of wine, but still put it on our bill. I might go back and give it another try.

Really nothing special, even over priced I think. We ordered the Zucchini Sapori, which is fried Zucchini 10 dollars on Mothers Day menu where all the prices were bumped 3 dollars for no reason. 4 small bites was all that was on the plate. Then the tortellini soup everyone raved about, just Chicken noodle with small tortellini noodles (maybe 3), salad was standard not special, and my meal Salmon, was bland in a white sauce with pooling butter, and tasteless spinach side. No one else was overly impressed with their food either. The service was weak from the front door filled with kids who were more interested in each other then the guests, to the servers and bussers who seemed over whelmed/ distracted by what was not a busy place at all. We wanted to love it, It was Mothers Day, our favorite food, but it failed to deliver and ended up costing a hundred dollars no drinks of any kind, no dessert, one appetizer, oh and the waitress up sold a 15 year old to add on meatballs he didn't even want but had no idea it was extra. His dad ate one the other went home. We must have been at a different place then the others.

I can't believe I lucked across this restaurant at 9:30 pm on a weekday night while visiting my childhood neighborhood. Sapori has only been open for two weeks. I have not enjoyed an Italian meal, or tasted better food, in years. I am not exagerrating when I say that the quality of this food rivals the best Italian I've eaten in NYC and Chicago (e.g. Riccardo Trattoria). The owner is of Sicilian descent, and the chef is actually from Sicily. The attention to detail was evident in every dish I tried, as well as the service. The octopus salad was the best I've ever had, and I try it everywhere. Not easy to do well. The chicken tortillini soup was like the best chicken soup that Mama (any ethnic Mama) every made! Veal Saltimboca was perfect, as was the Panna Cotta. Nice selection of reasonably priced and high quality wines, including some Amarones and Super Tuscans of favorable vintages. I hope that Sapori finds the success that it so richly deserves. I wish they were located closer to my hometown. Thank you Brian, Marco, Vincenza, and the rest of the gang for one of the best meals I've enjoyed in ages. And for the gracious and warm hospitality. Piacere.

We decided to try this restaurant after reading so many positive Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. Every person working there was very friendly, except for our waiter. He was extremely grumpy! It was terrible! I don't think he made eye contact with us one time. He just seemed like he was in a rush and didn't want us to be there. We ordered our food, which came with soup and salad. Mr. Grumpy waiter quickly mumbled something like, "Salad with house dressing?" which I accepted. My husband asked if there were any other dressing choices. Mr. Grumpy named 2 more choices. My husband asked if they had a Caesar dressing and Mr. Grumpy said yes and quickly walked away. Soups - Minestrone was bland, chicken tortellini was good (tiny servings) Salads - house dressing was very tart, Caesar dressing was so bad my husband didn't eat the salad Food - lasagna was good (big portion), chicken and artichoke wasn't anything special. The sauce it was in was way too heavy. I probably won't eat the leftovers. Drinks - 95% ice, 5% actual drink Mr. Grumpy waiter never came to see how the food was or refill drinks. Thankfully, the person who brought us our food refilled our drinks (and was very friendly). A different person wrapped our leftovers, and yet another person ran our bill. The waitress at the very next table seemed so friendly. She offered a wine list (which we never got), offered salad dressing choices (I never knew they had so many), and visited their table often. Too bad we didn't get her! Mr. Grumpy could have learned a thing or two from her, like how to say "please" and "thank you" and maybe even smiling! Seriously, if he hates his job so much, he needs to quit! All in all, I don't think we will be back. There are other Italian places with better food and service.

Genuinely Disappointed. I had really high hopes after three separate people recommended this place to me so I had to try it. Went on a Thursday for dinner. Ordered the Margherita pizza and calamari appetizer. Before going, I looked at the website. The website made a point to state that food at this restaurant was "properly prepared". I wouldn't have ordered calamari otherwise, but I was hopeful that it wouldn't be overlooked. This was the chewiest, most rubbery calamari I have ever had. It seriously was a choking hazard. The complimentary bread and tomato sauce was really good. The Margherita pizza was way too bready. I was anticipating a thin crust as to my knowledge this is how it is prepared in Italy, but it appeared to be made with the same dough of the house bread. It seemed kind of lazily prepared. There were not that many tomatoes or cheese on it either, very imbalanced dish. After eating the house bread and calamari I was kind of deflated seeing the loaf of bread pizza placed in front of me. Also my husband had gluten free chicken Alfredo which was absolutely delicious. I was really jealous of his order! For dessert I ordered tiramisu which was excellent. I probably would have rated this restaurant higher if it had not been so hyped through verbal and online reviews. I probably won't be back- I felt like it was really overpriced for what we got.

This place was such a pleasant surprise! 7 of us came for my fathers birthday and we had a wonderful dinner. Not many places still give you soup AND salad with your entree. I had the beef tip pasta special and it was so delicious and really large. After soup and salad I wasn't extremely hungry but what I did have was devine! I wrapped the rest up for leftovers along with half of my tiramisu dessert which was also a very generous size. The food was fresh and delicious and I can't wait to come back!

I wrote my initial review on UrbanSpoon and, without going into the detail I did then, suffice to say we were not impressed. The raves about the Chicken Tortellini soup we're unfounded as it was bland, under-seasoned, and the chicken breast cartilage was in my soup. I'm not sure if anyone understands what I mean when I say "It tastes like feathers" but it was horrible. The Chicken Artichoke pasta was bland as well & the sundried tomatoes were tough & chewy. In the Zuppa de Pesce the shrimp was waaaay overcooked & had a chemical taste (freezer burn?) while the scallops were undercooked. The appetizers were either overpriced or under-portioned - you decide, but they were tasty (calamari & fried artichokes) but the sauce for the artichokes should also be served w the calamari. Last but not least, I think we got the male server from the other review on here because, like that review, the other servers were way better. Overall- we won't be back.

Dined on Nov. 22nd. Although we had made reservations through Open Table, we had to cool our heels at the bar for 55/mins. due to oversight by the hostess who sat another couple that had arrived after us and was seated before us! You gotta watch the the bar prices which do not match what the bar liquor menu prices list. They charge an extra $2.00 for alcohol served on the rocks because is 1-1/2oz pour vs. 1/oz if served neat. Go figure! Food quality is still ok but not outstanding. The noise level is fairly high and hopefully management will fix this if expansions are in their future plans.

The owners of this high end Italian restaurant are intent on providing a fine dining experience. I have eaten here 3 times now and it keeps getting better. The Decour is reminiscent of an Italian villa with family pictures adorning the walls. The service is impeccable. All of the well-trained staff are constantly checking on my satisfaction with all aspects of my meal. The wine selections are vast. While the menu is somewhat limited, everything that I've had is super. Last night I had the lasagna. I've never had a lighter or more delightful lasagna. I'm not sure what the cheeses that is between the pasta layers, but it is delicious. I also tried the chocolate martini. Decadent is the word best to describe it. They use a homemade Italian whipped cream and a delicious chocolate drizzled on top. It looks like a work of art. And it tasted oh so good. Definitely not for a calorie counter. I can't wait to work my way down the rest of the menu

Located in Washington, Michigan at 26 Mile Road and Mound is where my wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at a new Italian restaurant called Sapori. Plenty of parking, cozy atmosphere, friendly attentive service - GREAT food! They offer gluten free pastas, which was a welcome change for my wife who has a gluten intolerance. She chose a Chicken & Artichoke pasta ($17) and I enjoyed the Chief's Lasagna ($16). Each came with a side salad of adequate size and your choice of soup. I enjoyed their soup of the day which happened to be "Cream of Mushroom" and it was delicious! Very creamy base with generous portions of chopped mushrooms. My wife had the minestrone which had large chucks of fresh vegetables in a tomato base. We did not have any wine but they had an extensive wine list to choose from. To finish our meal, they had some really tempting desert offerings. Cannoli's, Homemade Gelato, Panna Cotta, etc. I had a hard time choosing which one to try because they all sounded great. I finally settled for the "Hazelnut Semifreddo" ($5) which was a light dessert with the consistency between mousse and ice cream. My wife had the "Panna Cotta" ($5) that was a cooked cream, milk & sugar kind of pudding topped with a raspberry sauce. We were greeted when we arrived and when we left by the manager on duty. Give them a try. Sapori is a good addition to the several unique restaurants in Washington Twp.

Moved to Washington Twp. From Clinton Twp. last fall. Decided to take my (2) sons to Sapori's after seeing the article in the Detroit News. My wife made the reservations and we were seated promptly. Linda was our waitress. We ordered drinks and appetizers and rec'd them in a timely manner. The bread basket and Ammoglio sauce were very good. The calamari appetizer was very rubbery. Most of us got the minestrone soup which had plenty of vegetables but was very bland. The dinner salad with the house dressing had too much lemon and it was like eating straight vinegar over greens. Overall the meals were good but for what they charged you would have thought you would have gotten more for your buck. My one son and me asked Linda for another bread basket so we could soak up the leftover sauce from our pasta dishes but never got. Also, my water glass was never refilled, I was sucking on ice cubes from my drink. It seemed that Linda was just interested in more drinks. I gave it three stars because the main dishes were good but I was not impressed with the service or the quantity of the food for the prices. I would travel the extra mile and go to Luciano's in Clinton Twp. where the food in great and the service is exceptional.

I'll start by saying the food was very good and the service was great too... So, why the 3 stars? This was the first time I've ever left an Italian restaurant still hungry. Crazy, right? Most Italian places serve mama style portions, with salad, veggies and lots of bread. Not so much. The prices are on the higher side so maybe I was expecting more.
Awesome hidden gem! What people are saying about this place is true! This was our first time visiting this spot, we decided to try it based on the many excellent word of mouth recommendations we got over the last few months, and we were not disappointed! Before making the reservation (using yelp, which by the way worked excellently also) I read some of the other yelpers reviews and got a little nervous with the few reports of bland and blah food, But we have it a try anyways and WOW! First of all I think it's a great value. 17$ plate that includes soup AND salad AND really great bread! I had the octopus salad appetizer, cream of mushroom soup, house salad and chicken Marsala. I had the Marsala served in a bed of angel hair pasta and I'm pretty sure the pasta was homemade! Everything was delicious! Exploding with flavor, each item was perfectly cooks and plated! Can't wait to go back. Service was top notch, the waiter must have worked at a very high end place before this, he was a pro!

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Corrie F.
Service couldn't have been better! I order chicken artichoke, each mouthful was better than the last.

(5)Heather O.
MARVELOUS!! Pleasantly surprised. This place is the real deal. From start to finish we loved every course of our meal. Salute to the owner / chef. We will be back!!

The service 5 Star... Wait staff was very educated in the menu, service and time to deliver food was perfect. The presentation of the dishes were orgasmic this place is exceptional. Every time I travel to this area it's a " MUST ". Try everything on the menu it's great and authentic.

Cheers!
(3)Denise P.
The service was decent, food tasted good however I had two tough pieces of the lemon chicken and it ruined the course. The drink menu stated $35 for a bottle of wine but I was charged $40. Won't go back
(2)Nora S.
Putrid!!! This was the worst Italian food I've ever had. Our first time dining here was terrible but we decided to give it a second chance; BIG MISTAKE. We ordered two beers and two entrees for a total of $60; the price would be acceptable IF the food was good. I ordered the Risotto Del Pescatore (Arborio Rice Sautéed with fresh mussels, Sea Scallops, Jumbo Shrimp, Clams, Calamari, crushed red pepper in White Wine fresh tomato sauce) it was atrocious. The risotto was undercooked and the seafood was over cooked (how does that even happen?!). I had a grand total of three shrimp, ONE scallop, with rubbery clams and mussels. It was horrid but our server raved about it. My husband had the lasagna; he said the frozen Stouffer's was better. I wouldn't feed the scraps to my dog!!!
(1)Andre M.
(1)Anthony A.
Outstanding! Great food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. Try the shrimp appetizer
(5)Mia V.
(5)Angela S.
Excellent! I've had almost everything on the menu and it's all fantastic. The grapefruit martini is the bomb!
(5)Rolf K.
We have eaten here twice now and enjoyed it greatly. Service, the food will have us come back often.
(4)Adrienne F.
Finally fabulous Italian on this side of town! Fresh pasta! Great veal sandwich! And the sauce for the bread!
(5)Tammy K.
Excellent! =*) I have had the salmon twice now there. I will be going back. The food is so fresh!
(4)Gage S.
(5)Marie S.
(5)karen a.
(5)Ray V.

(1)Hank M.
(2)Chocolina R.
We had a great time this time. My husband had a veal, I had a pasta. All were excellent. We were sure the unfortunate experience of last time was because of the waiter we had. Wonderful restaurant.
(5)Jim L.
(1)Scott M.
(3)Petrina T.
Just a little disappointed at lunch. Pasta pomadoro was the best. Veal & hamburger sandwich not so much. Our server was the sweetest. Will try it again!
(3)M M.

(2)Olivia G.

Authentic Sicilian Cuisine! I had my bachelorette dinner here and the dessert was amazing- all the girls loved it. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

We have been here a few times now and have loved it each time. An excellent wine list with reasonable prices. The appetizers are excellent, especially the hot peppers and sausage.

Where has this restaurant been my whole life? Amazing and unique authentic Italian dishes with top notch quality and affordable prices. Get the Carmel Sea Salt gelato and thank me later.

Pretty good food. Nice to finally have a better dining experience in Washington. We really have needed a good restaurant for awhile. I think their Italian fish was some of the best I've ever had. Staff is friendly and overall good experience.

Made reservations through yelp, which I've never done before. I received a call from Sapori the day before our reservation to comfirm. We arrived and were seated almost right away. This place is beautiful! Great atmosphere, great appetizers, great entrées, great wine!! The owner came over to our table and introduced himself and asked how everything was. The chef also came out to our table to make sure everything was great. We will definitely be going back! The food is fresh tasting and I have to say our experience overall was excellent!!
