THE HOMEMADE SOUP SELECTION IS AMAZING. I looooove the dill soup and chicken lemon rice. I've been here on a few occasions and would go even more if my b.f. was down with it. The portions are always large (even though we know its not good for us, but hey it's nice to get your moneys worth and more once in a while). I have also had a wrap, which was good and chicken fettuccine Alfredo which was just so-so. The burger and fries was delicious, and a huge serving. But, for the price of the food, which I always though has been decent, and for the amazing soups I would go back again. ** The downside, which I can forgive, was that the training waitress was asked to shake the rug and she shook it right at our table. I saw her do it but didn't realize she was shaking right towards us until another employee was like "what the heck are you doing". But, its ok, ppl make mistakes. Check it out if you like low-key, quick, coney island food. I'm not picky.

I love this place. Unique items like their dill soup provide variety along with the more classic coney-type of items. Great service, good pricing. I just wish they had a cold selection for an included side like a small salad instead of the soup. I love that I can see in the kitchen from the dining area.

The Ryan Grill & Coney is a great place! My Wife & I have been there many times since it's opened, and not just because it's in our neighborhood. They have the "usual" coney cuisine, as well as many unique items on the menu, and several Greek items too. Some of THE BEST soups that I've ever had! Always have great daily specials. Portions are very generous, the waitstaff & cooks are friendly, efficient, & pleasant...they give you the feeling that you're appreciated for being a customer. And the restaurant is VERY clean too!

To keep things short: Fast, attentive service. Find your own seat = a major plus! Cozy, if not a little crowded. Love that about restaurants. Had one of the breakfast skillets with my mum and dad. Delicious and extremely filling! Very generous portions. Free drink refills (even coffee! ) and plenty at that. :3 Coming here again with the whole family. I wonder how they'll be with 6 orders as opposed to 3 ;)

Too bad I can't rate this place 0 stars or I would. I was working in the area so I tried the place for lunch. I should have known better than to eat at a restaurant located behind a gas station. I ordered a salad and asked for Romaine lettuce instead of iceberg. I also asked for croutons and the dressing on the side. The waitress never said there would be an extra charge for any of these. The salad comes with very light green, opaque lettuce, obviously not Romaine. It took a while to get the waitress to come back. But when I pointed out that I did not get Romaine, she says "Yah, that is pretty yellow." But then the owner comes over and says it IS Romaine. So I just ate it even though it was not what I ordered. The waitress brings the bill. There are 3 unlabeled extra charges. $1, .60, and .50. I asked about the extra charges. The smaller are for asking for the dressing on the side and for croutons. That's right. They upcharge for those basics. The $1 is for the Romaine that I never got. The waitress says I have to talk to the owner to get it removed. The owner has attitude from word one. He actually argues with me over the $1. Insists they served me Romaine. He says "I don't lie. I have been here over 20 years." I'm thinking 20 years and all you have to show for it is a dozen or so tables behind a gas station? If they treated their customers better they might have a bigger restaurant in a nicer location like Friars just down the street. Needless to say, I won't be dining behind a gas station again.

I'm a romantic. I always get excited when a new business opens up. I have this wild notion that each restaurant represents the realization of someone's lifelong dream of owning their own place. When I walk in to a new place, I try to see it as the new owner sees it. I put myself in their shoes and say "Wow. I've finally made it. I'm gonna make a splash." You can understand, then, that when I sit down and look at the menu of a place like this and realize it's a carbon copy of... every other place like this, it's like a little part of me dies. I just don't get it. How can a brand new restaurant not have even the tiniest discernible bit of personality? It's not like this place is a franchise or a chain restaurant. Hell, I've been to McDonald's restaurants with more personality than this--the franchise owner is a classic car model collector or a fan of steam locomotives and puts posters up or ... something. Anything?! Nope. This place is as generic as you can get. This is the place I would have taken my Grandma. It's predictable. It's safe. You already know the menu and the quality because you've been here. All the food tastes like it comes from the local bulk service. It's either Sysco or Gordon Food Service. Does it matter? No, it doesn't matter. If you're hungry and want food, come here. It's fine.

The restaurant is clean mainly because it is fairly new. The food is the normal Coney island / family restaurant fare. I love breakfast; this one has been mediocre. Absolutely nothing stands out in my memory for my 4 visits. Maybe I will try the soup next time.

Great service. The BEST Chicken Lemon Rice Soup I've ever had. Really good daily specials. Fast if you want, relaxing if you want. Breakfasts are good - only been there a few times for brekkie. We mainly go for dinners. Recently picked up a to go lunch - FANTASTIC

Great place, but avoid Friday and Sunday. I was with a guest on Friday and this older group of people were obviously drunk. They were loud and obnoxious. You could smell the booze a table away. Then, a homeless guy with a backpack and empty beer cans sat in the other table. He was mad that they were out of clam chowder and he left, empty 40's and all. Sunday was a zoo thanks to the church crowd. Almost impossible to get a table. We got lucky. Food is good but please please put a napkin under the soup bowls. I've had two different waitresses spill soup on the table because they can't set it down without it sliding on the saucer and spilling everywhere. Last time it burned my hand. I prefer to eat their delicious soup, not wear it. Aside from that, the place is clean and the food is great, especially for being built into a dunkin doughnuts and a gas station. A gem. Wednesday is polish dill pickle soup day! Pretty good.

First off, this is a diner - not a 5 star restaurant. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised. Visually, it's not much....pretty much a typical diner setting. However, it was decorated nicely for the holidays and it was clean. I ordered a burger not expecting much. To my surprise I was served this HUGE hot, juicy burger. It was tasty, well cooked and everything you could expect. On top of that, it was relatively inexpensive. The onion rings were pretty decent as well. I also ordered the rice pudding. It was wonderful! These guys do a nice job and may be one of the best small diners around. I'd gladly give them 3 1/2 stars if I could. I may go back here again just to try something else. If you get a chance, give this place a try.

Wonderful staff members here, we get the food we ordered and nothing more, my boyfriends daughter wanted strawberries and he asked for two strawberries instead we got a bowl full of them just for her, his other daughter got our bacon when the waitress offered to get some more, but we were just fine with what we got. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some food to eat since its right by I696 and you don't need to travel far away from that highway either.

This is a great family restaurant that I have visited on more than one occasion. The restaurant is CLEAN, the owners are often there and come to speak to everyone. They have a great amount of pride in their place. The only unfortunate part is that they are plagued by bad help on occasion, but that's probably par for the course. Soups are great, love the breakfast, fish Fridays are really good, and the service is friendly. If you want the best experience you have to ask for Nicole. A waitress that knows her stuff and will take great care of you. This restaurant is a great local find where you will get good food, reasonable prices, friendly service, and everybody wants to know your name. As far as local family diners are concerned, they get 5 stars.

I've spent many hours in many restaurants in my neighborhood. A friend and I have been on a 'South Warren Restaurant Tour' for the past two years, and are always checking out a new spot. This place has been opened for a little while now, and I finally made a point of having lunch there. The building used to be my old video store, which made me re imagine while I was sitting there where all the DVD shelves and the front desk used to be, now replaced by a nice (yet plain) decor. Driving past, the renovation job that they did on this building looks wonderful, and it is. The restaurant itself seems very clean and orderly. Sadly, that is the only positive I got from my visit. The menu itself was beyond bland and boring. There was a slim selection, just really not much to order from. But what disappointed me the most was the service in this establishment. There's too much waiting. There was one waitress waiting on all three patrons in the dining room, and taking care of a carry out, while two other staff members just seemed to be standing around behind the counter. With as few customers as there were, it took way too long to order, and was virtually impossible to get someone to wait on you. Nobody ever came around to refill coffee (I had to ask eventually, almost calling across the entire restaurant towards the counter). While we were still eating, our waitress came over and dropped the bills and asked if we needed boxes. They seemed rushed to flip tables, even though there were no customers to flip them with. But the bottom line is, there is no permanent problem with this establishment. If they would concentrate the same investment and effort on selection and service as they did on the actual decor and furniture, this place would be OK. If you all ready have a regular spot in the area for plain food though, stick with it.

i got in a bad car accident down the street from ryan grill when it first opened. i totaled my car and sustained a couple injuries. nothing crazy, i just really messed up my face and wrists. while waiting for someone to get me and watching the cops clean up the mess, i sat at ryan, bawling because i just lost my new car in an accident. a waitress there came over to me and sat with me to comfort me and made me some of the best pancakes with strawberry i've ever had. ate it through tears. she was really kind to me and i felt a lot better afterwards. aside from this experience, i come back all the time. i'm a sucker for their thanksgiving meal. turkey and gravy and mashed potatoes with soup and vegetables for $6. or chicken and mushroom for around the same price. i eat there every sunday morning when i get out of bed around 2pm and don't feel like doing anything or cooking. i really like this place. but they seem to swap waitresses a lot. but then again every coney island seems to. i haven't seen that waitress in a while.
