I'd grade Michelle's a solid 76% -- that's a B-, where I come from -- if the dining experience were a high school class. She gets full marks for participation. The service here is relaxed and friendly, provided by experienced staff who bring refills on drinks and the basket of bread before you really need to ask. Grandmotherly women like to stop and coo over the baby when we come out for late lunches with the beau, always chipping in a kind word. Even when slammed, servers deliver smiles and regular top offs of coffee, hot water, and other beverages. Her hours are a bit funny on the weekend, scaled back from dinner time to more breakfast and lunch entrees. That might prove problematic for weekend diners, though I only ever seem to show up around lunch time and the rare odd one-off. Michelle's does special projects for the holidays, notably buffet-style dining with a split between breakfast entrees and Polish/Eastern European lunch items. One recent meal had latkes (potato pancakes) to go with waffles and scrambled eggs in separate dishes, pierogies in another warming pan. The buffet meals run more expensive than the average breakfast or lunch, but you can return as many times as you want. Understandably lots of guests attend. Her restaurant meal coursework is average, and fairly consistent. She does a lot of salads and sandwiches, and the bulk of the heavy meal rotation covers staples like stuffed cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and gravy-slathered meats. A fish dish pops up now and then, but I've never been in the mood to try it. Omelettes and breakfast foods, with sausages and toast, round out the usual offering. Give the daily specials a good glance since they include more adventurous alternatives to the very gently seasoned regulars. The highlights? The Yorkshire pudding popovers win every time. The French onion soup gets a pass; though not brilliant, the heavy broth and onion under a crust of cheese hits the spot every time, even if the crust also contains croutons. That's at least what they looked like to me. With melted cheese and beefy broth, I really don't care. Your cardiologist might after the salt and cholesterol counts are tested. Cabbage rolls are quite good, though ask to go easy on the very sweet tomato sauce. It needs definite kick to tone down the heavy, sugary sauce. Things don't get fancy here, though, and Michelle's could amp up the game a bit on presentation. Main dishes honestly feel like a scoop of veggies was heated from a can, and meat can be very tough. I avoid the gravy dishes, having found the gravy much too salty on every occasion and, again, feeling as though reheated. I would prefer far more in the way of seasoning, especially those traditional spices, with the staples. Pierogies may not be fancy, but they can use a little zip or kick somewhere, surely?

This review is solely for the restaurant - I've actually never bought anything from the bakery. My family raves about this place and loves coming here. I hate to say this, but maybe my family is boring - everything I've ever had here is bland and/or overcooked, and completely uninspired. I resist coming here and always try to push them in another direction. I truly cannot remember one decent meal I've eaten here, and I've come plenty of times.

We love this place. We went for the Thanksgiving dinner and they serve you at your table. I loved that part. The Christmas decorations were up and they were gorgeous. The perfect beginning to the holiday season. The waitress was as busy as can be and by running her arse off managed to give terrific service. We are always grateful for people who give up their family holidays for our family. The food was just great. Real turkey, mashed potatoes, and this cranberry bread which I managed to do some serious damage to! We will go back this year. We have already returned at least three times during the holidays alone. This is my favorite restaurant for the decor alone. My husband loves the salmon!

Wouldn't step foot into this place again even if my life depended on it. We went on a Sunday at noon, We seen that there was a breakfast buffet and everyone was excited for that. Rip-off alert!!!! 15dollars for food that wouldn't be served in a college cafeteria. The food was either a bland or over-salted, it also seemed that most of the food was sitting out in the warmers for way longer than they should have been. It took 5 mins to get seated and almost another 10mins to get a waitress to ask for drinks. Don't get me started on the inside decor of this place, it was funeral parlor mixed with a grandma that collects weird dolls and trinkets. I think the best thing for them would be to ask Restaurant Impossible to come visit them and redo the whole place....

The staff is very polite and nice but the food takes forever. I am currently sitting in the restaurant when there is only 4 people here besides me, and I have been waiting for eggs for 30 minutes

Their Maurice Salad is second to none. Fresh, generous. Their Maurice dressing remind me of Hudson's from yesteryear (before it was purchased by Macy's). Nice selection of meals. Service is friendly and most accommodating. Their holiday decorations are festive, and show expertise that is mindful of the customer experience.

This is a good place for a healthy meal. I'm having there Caprice Salad. Service can sometimes be lacking.

The Grandma Millie's Chicken Salad is delicious. I return time and time again just for it! Hours are a bit screwy.

Normal breakfast food, but it can get really crowded. Their bakery is the cutest though, it's fun to just go and look. I bought some chocolate pastries and they were the best, but maybe avoid the Sunday church crowd timing of you want a good experience.

Sunday breakfast buffet from 9am - 2pm was impressive, :). Eggs Benedict, corned beef hash, REAL potato pancakes, a Belgium Waffle station and an excellent assortment of coffee cakes/pastries are just a few of the items that went beyond my normal breakfast-buffet dining experiences. The quality & care in the preparation is apparent also, no second-hand cuts of bacon/sausage or hurriedly assembled Benedicts as you'll find at some places who attempt this. There also was the customary scrambled eggs, fruit, et ... the noted items just made it a little more special, IMO. Service was very good, adequate number of servers & they do hustle ... one large group & some big tables gave me an opportunity to observe the staff 'under fire' & they passed with flying colors. Good place to bring the family for a relaxed Sunday breakfast, :) ... gonna' have to get back there & check out the rest of the menu, :).

We used to enjoy the food at this restaurant but today I believe that I got food poisoning. I took a bite of the ham and potatoes and they had a bad taste. Wife and I had work to do within half hour and I was sick as a dog. The service was very bad. The waitress gave my wife attitude. She wants one egg for breakfast and she used to get the "one egg" breakfast. She would prefer not to waste the food. She asked for this and the waitress was very short and rude and insisted that she could not get this breakfast on the weekend. We will never go here again.

My husband and I stopped there for lunch on a Saturday. We both had burgers and waffle fries and they were very good. The service was a little slow, we were kind of ignored when we walked in, everybody was busy doing prep work. It was also cold in there. The main annoyance was the constantly ringing phone! The phone should be directed to an office or something, not ringing constantly up at the front desk where no one is at!

Good sunday brunch buffet. Nice size lunch and dinner salads. On their specials menu, they have a pan seared salmon on a bed of iceberg and romain salad that is just delicious. Must have a slice of raspberry bavarian torte. The bakery is ok. They have a nice selection of sugar free chocolates that I got for my Aunt and she loved them.

Easter Brunch was very good. Omelette bar, waffles made to order, fresh made rolls, fruit and salad table, carrots, Swedish meatballs, mashed potatoes, ham and roast beef carving station, mac and cheese, polish sausage and kielbasa with sauer kraut, and fantastic desserts from the bakery. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. I don't know how anyone could have an unpleasant experience here!

Service was a slow, especially for a lunch place. Portion was nice, but sausage was just barely warmed through, maybe run it through your broiler to put some char on it. Be aware the saurkraut is not vegetarian friendly.

My family came here for breakfast. When we arrived, there were 5 tables seated. At no point in our meal were there more than 10-12 diners, total. So WHY then did it take 45 minutes for our food to arrive? Especially after we heard the kitchen tell the waitress that our toddler would get Mac and cheese "from last night?" Um, no. Gross. Food arrived cold. Will not be returning.

Service and staff were great. Food, eh. All I had was breakfast and the potatoes were nearly impossible to cut, as they were so over done on one side. Bacon and sausages were cooked in the deep fryer, which made the sausage hard to cut and the bacon brittle and foam like. Sausage tasted like it only had a day or so left before it would need to be thrown out. The ham was awful. I didn't eat it, and I generally clean my plate. I have lots of friends who swear by this place, but I won't be back for breakfast anyway. Staff was awesome!

This is the worst experience I have had at Michelle's Restaurant yet. I've been there many times before and have always had great service and good breakfast. I haven't been there for awhile so after I came back, I couldn't believe how horrible this experience was. My parents and I got seated right away. We didn't meet our waitress until 20 minutes into waiting. We noticed one waitress that we figured was ours (since she was taking care of a booth party of around 6 or 7 people behind us) and all she did was glance and walk away, without introducing herself, or saying she would be right with us. Well, in the end, she ended up being our waitress. When she finally comes by, she says "Oh! I'm sorry, I'm sooo busy I have three tables. Can I take your order?" We order our breakfast and drinks, and then ANOTHER 20 minutes passes by before she can bring two glasses of water and a cup of coffee. I found that a bit ridiculous as I had seen her going around to her other two tables asking them how they were and if she could get them anything, but she didn't have time to bring us our drinks? When we finally got us our drinks, it took her an extra 30 minutes to bring us our breakfast. Our family was ready to walk out. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to scramble up a few eggs, make a few pancakes, and a few sausages. I could have easily made that at home in 10-15 minutes. Also, she only brought one plate of toast, when we were supposed to get 3 plates of toast. She said "Oh your toast will be right out." And then she preceded to asking her other tables how they were, and if they needed anything, but failed to come around and ask us how our breakfast was and if we needed anything. She also forgot to bring us back our toast and would avoid our table at all costs. Well, after we finished all of our plates, I was furious. I called her over, even though she tried to run past without acknowledging us, and asked her if she was ever going to bring us our two plates of toast. She said "OH! That's right. Hold on." And went to get it. Well, turns out it wasn't even made. She asked the kitchen to make it, and then 10 minutes later, she brings back one undertoasted plate of over-buttered toast, and one burnt plate of toast, and said "Oh, someone had stolen my toast that's why I didn't bring it out to you guys." She didn't even have the decency to apologize for her mistake of forgetting. Also, the big party behind us that she was oh-so-greatly serving, said, "Oh thank you so much for your patience have a great day." when giving them the check, and with us, she just threw it on the table. This is ridiculous service, and I will never be coming back. Tables that got sat after us with MORE people got served quicker than us. Just for three plates of breakfast and drinks, I don't find it necessary for us to have to wait that long or experience crappy service. By the way, don't request Rhonda (that's her name). Her horrible attitude and ridiculous makeup made me lose my appetite already.

I've been past this place a million times and always said I was gonna try it.. Well I finally did, and i'm so sorry! First of all, the place is FILTHY!! There was crap all over the floor, and with all the wood in the place, someone should consider dusting. Their prices are outrageous! I know I had some kind of lunch thing, but it was so un-memorable, I don't know what it was, but I DO remember it was way over priced. The bakery looked like it had some promise, but i skeedaddled it out of there so fast I barely looked in the glass cases. Maybe one day i'll go back and check out the bakery, but the restaurant is a NO in my book.

Sometimes, don't you wish the two-star rating said ... "Meh. I've experienced WAY better"? That's how we felt after leaving Michelle's. A few years ago, we had a very different impression of this place. We'd enjoyed, from what I can remember, a really very solid, albeit basic, breakfast. I remember commenting that we should "bring the kids here sometime" and walking away feeling pretty satisfied. So um, ... what happened? Well, whatever it was that happened, hasn't turned out well. My basic breakfast, consisting of two eggs (scrambled), two strips of bacon, rye toast and american fries was ... well ... it just "was" I guess. Not a whole lot of taste somehow ... the bacon was thin and bland, the toast was over-buttered and soggy and the potatoes (the best part of the meal) were so few that I was left hoping that the rest of the portion was hidden under the toast or maybe the eggs. Nope. Anyway, little did I know that I would have the better end of the deal when considering what Deb had to call her "most important meal of the day". The blueberry pancakes ... guys, avoid these at all costs. It isn't pretty when a pancake cannot decide whether to be a crepe, a pancake, or a doily. It was like her pancakes had all decided to undergo surgery to become crepes ... or doilies ... and decided midway through the procedure to call it all off. So, we were left with ... I don't know ... "pancrepedoilies"? Thin and not really tasting like anything except the syrup they were dipped in. So, in sum ... the breakfast potatoes were great (ask for a full portion), the eggs were fine (they'll need seasoning upon their arrival) and the service was friendly (that definitely counts). Everything else left way too much to be desired.

This place is very clean and serves up fantastic fresh food. Couldn't ask for more. P.S. The bakery is also a masterpiece
