Delicious! The warm homemade pita is to die for. Their fattoush salad is large and plenty of spices. When you get it carry out they put the dressing on the side so if you want you can save for later, huge points in my book. Will definitely be going back

Cafe Jole is A-Ok if you're looking for the fast food of Middle Eastern. There is a counter where you can stand, order your food, and then mosey out. Fine, mabe the next time I'm in said situation, I will remember Cafe Jole. For a sit down restaurant, I'd go elsewhere personally. While this sentiment has nothing to do with the service, as they were pretty spot on.. It has more to do with the food. As I've said in several other reviews about Middle Eastern Cuisine is, this area, and it's surrounding cities are peppered with Middle Eastern restaurants...some with the authenticity of actually being in the middle east...This just isn't that place...which is fine, it serves the purpose... But..if given the chance to choose where to get my ME fix...I wouldn't chose here. Still, I'd say stop in, as the experience was a pleasant one.

Cafe Jole is just ok. A little less than that. My first experience was placing a to-go order. The girl taking the order was a little rude and seemed like I was bothering her. Second thing is the hummus. It's the staple of any middle eastern restaurant and it was just "eh". No flavor. Consistency wasn't that great. I make it a habit to always finish my food and I couldn't even muster up to finish the hummus. I had the falafel sandwich. Looked good and nice portion, but again no flavor at all. Probably won't be back.

Super yummy food. The pita is warm and soft, accompanied by some of the most garlicky garlic spread you'll ever eat. Fattoush salad is $1.99 extra, but huge and well worth it. I always get the chicken ghallaba, which is rich, savory and just a tiny bit tart. It's delicious over rice. My spouse eats their schwarma & hummus religiously and swears they make the best hummus in town. The decor is lovely, the prices are reasonable- easily $3-5 cheaper per entree' than competing Mediterranean restaurants- and the staff is a joy. Always friendly, always smiling, and very diligent without being obnoxious. A personal favorite.

Good food, but mediocre to sometimes bad service. Seems like thy have a high turnover rate with waitstaff.

Cafe Jole looks newer and has pretty good service. However, their food leaves something to be desired. The chicken Schwarma was tasty, but that's about all. Their rice was bland. The lamb was really (to me) not edible, and the beef (they say it's prime cut) is so so. The salad was okay, and the bread was pretty good. But if I had to say how much I'd expect to pay for everything, it'd be around $8 or $9 based on the quality, not the $16-$17 that I paid. Again, not terrible and it looks clean inside, but just not worth it, especially with so much competition in the area.

This place is just okay at best. Service was fine, fast and courteous, but the food was just so-so. My main gripe was with the Chicken Lemon Rice soup. All I could taste was black pepper. It was so bad that I had to use the juice from half a lemon (there was no lemon flavor at all) to cut through it and make it edible. The Chicken Tawook (Lemon Oregano) was decent and the portion was fairly large. The vegetables they gave you with it though were so charred and black that I didn't even attempt to eat them. The rice was your typical plain old white rice and I asked for them to add some red sauce to it to give it more flavor. This came at a $1.19 upcharge which seemed like much. Instead of just giving you a little scoop on top they give you a soup bowl of marinara on the side which is no wonder the upcharge was a bit steep. To be honest it really wasn't that good. It was very watered down. The pita, hummus, and garlic sauce were the saving grace of our meal. In my opinion if a Mediterranean place can't get these three things right, then they need to reevaluate and start over. Overall, if I am down for just a chicken salad of some sort, I'd go back here. For anything else I would probably look elsewhere.

My wife and I frequented this restaurant quite a deal in the winter time and I can honestly say I never had a bad meal but tonight we ordered a large Fattoush to go and when I got home it had no salad dressing on it what so ever and the feta on the side was not enough to even cover a portion of the salad. When I called they said they would take15% off my next meal. Paying $12.25 for a salad I would expect more.....

My wife and I consider ourselves experts on Lebanese cuisine...even though we are Polish lol. Anyway we have been to this restaurant as of today and no longer will be visiting any other one's in the area. This is the best. The only thing that could come close is Malek Kebabs in Roseville but unfortunately they burnt to the ground 2 weeks ago. Lucky for my wife and I, we now have Café Jole!!!! Best Beef Kebabs period! They say tenderloin and they mean it. Can cut with a fork (I actually did as a test). Freshest salad around. The toum (garlic spread) is 2 notches above the competition. When you can dip the bread in it and it sticks immediately, you know it will be good (unlike others that are clumpy and fall off the bread). Chicken Tawook? Unbelievable! The juiciest and thickets cut of prime chicken tenderloin we have ever eaten...this is really good quality just like everything else. This restaurant is so clean also. Bonus is it is of newer construction so the beautiful décor does not show signs of wear and tear. We will be visiting here at least 1 out of every 2-3 days for the rest of our lives!!! Well that is abouit.........WAIT!!!! Could it get any better? Yes. Our waitress, Jenna, was the cutest, most friendly hard working server we have had in a long time. Always a smile...so polite and informative. So appreciative of our first visit here and expressed so well her desire to hopefully see us come back. Where did they get this girl? They need to put her on a zerox copy machine and hit the button a few hundred times. The world can use many more of her. Try this place...you will 99.9% love it!

I've been here a number of times and I I have to say that their staff has always been super friendly and they have a great menu from breakfast to dinner. You really can't go wrong with this place. Plenty of seating options, great for big groups, clean, TVs and pleasant lighting. I would highly recommend.

This is a solid place in Warren with good prices. I went with a coworker of mine during lunch and we ordered takeout. We each got chicken schwarma and shared a box of fries. The fries were average, nothing special at all. But the shwarma was pretty delicious. It was just about the perfect size for a lunch meal and had a great tint of garlic, and I don't like pickles so I added onions and lettuce to it. That was a little gripe of mine. The girl taking my order seemed quite aloof. It was my first time in the restaurant -- which is very nice, mind you -- and I asked a few questions about portion size and what comes in each sandwich, blah blah. She seemed like she didn't care too much, didn't even bother to get me my Mountain Dew while the two of us waited for our sandwiches. The place charges extra for adding things to sandwiches, even lettuce and onions. Please. That's pushing it a little, plus I was substituting lettuce and onions for pickles (which I don't like). That should be changed in my opinion. But it's a nice little place that looks brand new with its setup. It's kind of in an awkward spot off Schoenherr, and it doesn't really stand out at all. (There is no big sign near the main road; just a sign on the building.) There was a big hookah drawing on the glass in front, but I wasn't sure if they actually had hookahs inside. There was no mention of it. I would like to come back and either get another schwarma or the shish kabob sandwich. I'm also curious about the rice and salads they serve as well. You can get a combo for around $7, which is pretty good. Thumbs up to this hidden gem.

Havent really found a food that i liked there yet, but their pita and garlic butter is amazing. They also have great rice! The chicken shwarma isnt as good as i expected it to be, but still wasnt bad.
(4)Jen A.
Some of the best baba ganoush I've ever had, and the garlic was also delicious. I had the Super Falafel, and the proportions of hommus/falafel/tabouli were perfect. I would definitely come back here again. :-)
(5)Melissa R.
This place was really good when they first opened so I'm not sure what has changed, but the food is not so good anymore. As a Detroit native good Middle Eastern is not hard to find and developing a taste for good Middle Eastern is easy to do. I had the lamb shawarma which had good flavor but the lamb was so overcooked that it was tough to chew. Tabbouli is hard to mess up, so that was good and fresh. The hommous on the other hands was a little grainy for my liking and lacking the oil swirl on top. The baba ghanooj was okay, it too was a little chunky and somewhat missing that smokey flavor. That being said the bread was delicious and garlic sauce was excellent. The saddest part of my experience was the baklava. It was wet rolls with a powdered nut center, ughh. Where's the crunch? The golden flaky layers held together by honey? The nut chunks? What you served me was not baklava, it was a pathetic imposter-a poor knockoff and you should be embarrassed for selling it.

Had vegetable lunch plate: hummus, tabouli, falafel with rice and salad. Very good and reasonable. Service is not great. Waitresses are trying to do too much: wait tables, bus tables, seat people, fill takeout orders, sweep floors, run cash register.

Disclaimer - I hate leaving reviews like this but I think it's necessary under these circumstances. First time. Never again. Literally probably the worst takeout I've had. Chicken Shawarma sandwich = not warm, dry chicken, soggy pickles, nonexistent garlic. Chicken lemon rice soup = where's the chicken?! Where's the rice?! Seriously, it's a cup of yellow broth. I'm not even being dramatic. Mjadara looks like day old dried up lentils. Tastes nothing like the dish should and def didn't include the ingredients described on the menu. There was a bag of warm bread, but did we get the traditional side of garlic? Nope. Top it off, the waitress ran my card and watched as I signed for the $28 disaster of a meal and I could swear she seemed perturbed that I didn't leave a tip. For real. This place is for the birds. I'm entirely surprised it's a functional business.

Very clean, updated restaurant. Lots of tables and booths - had TVs on to show the various games that were on. They also have carry out and delivery. (delivery! in Michigan!!!! WOWOWO!) Prices were reasonable for Mediterranean food. Food itself - good portions. Really enjoyed the hot bread and garlic paste. Only complaint was the cut of meat. In NYC we've had quite a bit of Mediterranean and there they use the fattier (cheaper) cuts of meat. Here they used the leaner cuts of meat (more expensive I'm sure, but has less flavor! Breast vs thigh). Had shwarma plates with chicken and lamb. It was still very good though! Chicken lemon rice soup had good flavor -Not too salty, not too lemony - just right. Friendly prompt servers!

Certain parts of the meal are superb, such as the bread beforehand. It is good Mediterranean, not the best around but good enough where I probably eat there/get carry out about once a month. Definitely worth it to stop in for a meal.

This place is good and service was phenomenal. Our waitress, Eva, was so sweet. They give you this fresh, delicious complementary bread to eat with garlic sauce. The garlic sauce is also fantastic. Another thing I love about this place is the variety. From Mediterranean food, to pasta to an American breakfast menu, there are definitely lots of options to choose from. Oh! And prices are very reasonable. We went in at 8pm on a Thursday and they seemed slow. They deserve lots more customers, so give them a try!
(5)Briana S.
The waitstaff was great, extra friendly, super awesome. The food was very tasty, I had gotten the spinach pie and falafel plate, so filling I could hardly eat half of it. Falafel tastes amazing and the texture was not gritty at all, definitely coming back and I will be bringing more friends!
(5)Abbey M.
The interior of the restaurant is very clean and super sharp. Food.....eh. If you are familiar with middle eastern food...this is lacking. It was disappointing to see canned mushrooms in the lamb saute, shish kafta was undercooked and had no flavor, bread was lacking that brick oven touch, chicken lemon rice soup was missing the lemon flavor and was thick and jelly...gross! Maybe their typical American breakfast menu will be wortha try? But a definite cross of the list for middle eastern. Palm Palace is the best option around here when its too late to go to the mecca of Dearborn for the real deal!

Based on the general look of this new restaurant in Warren, My sister-in-law and I thought it was a French coffee house. Oh my, how wrong we were. I saw an ad for Cafe Jole in the Warren Weekly and was suprised to see that ghalaba was on the menu and that the restaurant offers free delivery with a $20 order. I had to go check it out. It's small, but the space is decorated nicely and space is utilized to seat as many customers as possible. There is outside seating for warm, summer days, too. I'm not sure of their hours, but they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast prices range from $2.79 for two pancakes up to omelettes or waffles priced at $7.99. Overall very reasonable. Lunch specials are served from 10 am to 3 pm at the low price of $6.99. Dinner entrees include an assortment of mediterranean cuisine as well as "American" and "Spanish" and "Italian" choices. Very diverse menu. I didn't expect the food to be as great as it was. I had hummous with the puffy bread, a fatoush salad (yummy), chicken ghalaba, (it was fantastic), bread pudding, (warm with powdered sugar and warm caramel), and coffee. I judge many of the restaurants by the coffee they serve and the coffee here was fresh and tasted just the way I wanted it to taste. They also have turkish coffee, expresso, and cappuccino if you like the sweeter and/or stronger brews. Smoothies seem to be very popular. A family near us was enjoying them tremendously. The only thing I noticed that was missing from the choices was steak. They offer chicken, lamb, ground beef, and salmon, but no steak. I'd add it for sure. There are six tv's for customers to watch as they eat. This is going to be one of my very favorite restaurants!!!! The website for this restaurant is cafejole.com You can go to the website to see a gallery of their menu items. You have the option to fax in your oder at 586-619-3941 or place your online. Very customer friendly. They cater for all occasions including fruit and sweet tables.

I love their shwarmmas. Much better than Alexander's just down the street. Always fresh, awesome bread. Garlic spread is so yummy and their hummus and hummus dishes are delicious. Friendly and quick service also.
(5)Jessica S.
The food is delicious. The girls are very sweet and nice but they could be a little more attentive, I waited 20 minutes for a waitress to come back to my table for my bill, I had to ask for one. So did three other tables around me. Other then that, I'll be back.
(3)Sheri L.
My dad goes here all of the time, and while the food is alright, the atmosphere is just strange to me... I went there once when they first opened and haven't went again bc of it... It was like the people in the kitchen/staff area were watching the customers like hawks...
(3)Laura L.
I get carryout here several times a week. The fattoush is my favorite and I also love the shish tawook sandwich. Their hummus is very good but occasionally it is just so so. Oh, I also recommend the Greek salad. My only complaint is the garlic is the strongest I've ever had. It burns my tongue! I just eat it sparingly because I am a huge garlic fan. The staff is friendly and it alway looks clean and inviting there.

Cafe Jole completely took me by surprise. Located in a medical complex next to a McDonald's in the very average suburb in which I grew up, I didn't expect the food to be nearly as good as it is. I had the Chicken Shawarma sandwich and the Starter Combo. The garlic and bread served before the meal were excellent. The bread was hot and fresh made. The garlic stands among the best I've had. The Shawarma was juicy and full of flavor. The hummous, baba ganooj, and taboulee were fresh, delicious, and unique. After the meal, my incredibly nice waitress suggested the bread pudding and I was again not disappointed. I highly recommend you follow suit in trying this decadent desert. This restaurant has great food, a clean/modern look, and stands among the best Mediterranean food in an area that's known for this type of cuisine.
(4)Amanda R.
Cafe Jole's food was fresh and delicious. The hummus is great, and the bread is right out of the oven. There are plenty of vegetarians options along with a variety of meat dishes. The only critique I have is that the waitress was not very knowledgable about the menu; I was with my vegan sister and she was unsure of the ingredients in many of the dishes. Other than that, the place is nice and clean and the good is delicious! Highly recommend!

My husband and youngest shared a lamb shawarma dinner. They thought it was very good, but thought it was a little under seasoned. My oldest and I shared the beef shish kabob. That was EXCELLENT! Cooked beautifully to order (medium). Quite tender, and juicy. Both dinners were supposed to come with fries. Mine was given to me with rice, but they apologized and brought me a plate of fries right away. The fries were good. The rice was bland. My daughter ate a salad, and thought it was quite good. I ate a cup of lentil soup and thought it was amazingly bland - I think another hour of cook time, and some salt would have made all the difference in the world. My husband and oldest thought the fresh bread was good (My youngest and I can't eat bread). The garlic spread was nice - full flavor but not sharp. The place was clean, the service was good. What they did right, they did wonderfully. What they did "wrong," could easily be remedied with more generous seasoning is all. I will positively go back.

Finally stopped in on this place with my boyfriend last month. Been there a few times since then. First of all the place has a really nice clean cafe vibe. You actually feel comfortable while your here. My boyfriend always orders the schwarma, and I always get the shrimp with sautéed mushrooms and rice. The schwarma is cheap but the shrimp ran me about $12. They give you bread and garlic free with your meal, which I loved because most other Mediterranean places charge you for extra things like that. Foods always delicious. Only problems I had were the last time we were there, the waitress we had was more concerned about talking to her coworkers then to get me a refill on my drink. That was a one time thing, I can get past that. Other then that, this place is great!
(4)Clifton M.
I ordered the dinner for two and it was great. Everything was seasoned just right. The food was very tasty.and fresh. One of the best middle eastern restaurants on the east side. I will be back for some more great food at this location.
(5)Jennifer S.
Great menu selection. Great quailty of food...if you can get it. Delivery said to be half hour, took hour and a half to deliver. Ok try take out. Missed half our order. They apologized and offered to deliver it. Half hour later received cold soup. Eh what a shame! There food was good.
(2)Ren S.
I get carryout from here way too often, but it is so delicious I just have to!

I LOVE this place! I live near by and I am just getting into Mediterranean food. One Saturday night my sister and I decided to give it a shot. We both had chicken shawarma sandwiches, hummus, and my sis tried a smoothie. Everything was EXCELLENT. In the following weeks I hit it up many times for take out orders. The staff is friendly, the food is great, and it's a nice little set up. My only disappointment was the lemon rice soup. Not lemony enough for my personal taste. Do yourself a favor and check them out! The prices are great too!

I love middle eastern food and wanted to love this place, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Good location and very nice and clean feel of the restaurant, but the food was a disappointment. Garlic spread was okay and the bread looked fresh, but had a grainy texture. Steamed asparagus was quite mushy, probably frozen definitely didn't taste fresh. Crushed lentil soup was very bland. Texture was good, but it tasted like water - it truly had no flavor. (which my server tried to warn me about. she said it had been sent back a lot, but it came with the meal so I tried it anyway) Shish tawook sandwich was okay, but I wouldn't call it tawook. It was bland grilled chicken rolled with regular pickles (not the kind most places have). The vegetarian ghallaba is one of my favorite meals from mediterranean cuisine and this looked nice and fresh, but once again it didn't taste good. It tasted like it was cooked with old oil or something. Had a very bitter, off taste about it. Dessert menu said homemade and I love baklava, but when I asked my server I was informed that they don't make the desserts there. Found that in bad taste to say claim you do. Needless to say I skipped dessert. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I didn't discover one reason that would make me return here. If you are in the area I recommend driving around the corner to alexander's Lebanese Cuisine. I give it one star because even though the restaurant looks great the food is what matters.

I thought this place was great! The service was great and everyone was really friendly, and the food was super tasty! The lamb was tender and juicy, and my smoothie was really creamy and delicious. The service was fast, friendly, and really helpful when it came to deciding between all of the really yummy looking things on the menu. I will definitely be returning regularly for lunch!
