Best deal on Thai I've ever had. In Detroit on business and found this place nearby: the food was good, the ingredients were fresh, the Pad Thai wasn't a starchy mass like some places. The complimentary soup with lunch order was a nice touch, oh did I mention it's $7 for chicken pad thai? Independent of cost, it's one of the better pad thai dishes I've had.

Omg! Wonder how many times I have driven by this place- now I will definitely wave! I got the pad Thai tofu & apple salad both were amazing! The staff was friendly & efficient. I will be back ASAP & my tummy can't wait.

That's authentic, eh? Wow. So incredibly underwhelming. How shall I describe the food? Hmmm....Bland? Tasteless? Mediocre at best? Insipid? Namby-Pamby? (Ha, do people still say that??) I'm do disheartened with Yelpers today. Perhaps had I ordered the green curry/spicy, I'd feel better about this joint. My lunch partner and I ordered: *Soup (veg): Bland, lukewarm, predominate flavor was salt *Spring rolls: Dripping grease, rank oil smell, tasteless *Tofu Tod: Different...not sure about the deep fried cubes of 'pillowy' tofu. The texture was odd but not in a bad way. Peanut sauce was just plain terrible, positively flat. (Note: We're both tofu tod fans) *Angel shrimp: Fell straight off a Schwan's truck and into the deep fryer. No thought whatsoever in the preparation or flavor. Tamarind sauce was tasteless. The lettuce was nice! I should have ordered Larb. *Garlic Fried Rice: Edible. Apparently, 'medium' = zero heat. Tasted just like the fried rice I make at home when I burn the garlic and forget the chili. *Drunken Noodles: You can always tell a good Thai place by the amount of basil in their DN. 3 slivers. Mild Plus = Negative Zero heat. My plate smelled like a dog's ass or something. WTH? Does going overboard with fish sauce smell like that? Probably the worst DN I've eaten. We asked for some heat on the side. The sauce was hot but lacked any true chili flavor. Decor: Uncomfy booths!!! Wild West meets 70's knotty pine? Ugly but clean. Service: Top Notch! Our server was attentive, pleasant and super nice.

Very quite place to go on a Sunday. Very clean inside. I heard about this place from fellow yelpers and thought we would try it out. I was a little curious when it was just a small un assuming little place inside a small strip mall type location. When we got inside it was very nice inside and the server was very friendly. When we ordered our food it came out fairly fast and tasted great. It was hard for my not to eat it all until I was stuffed and save some for later. The price was great. I would go again anytime. Thanks for the recommendation fellow yelpers!!!

I can say with absolute certainty that this is some of the best Thai food we've ever had, and we're both well acquainted with Thai food. We started with Spicy Beef Salad, which we ordered 'medium plus' spicy, and Toa-Fu-Tod (deep fried bean curd with plum sauce, crushed peanuts and green onion). Our entrees were Pad Thai with shrimp & scallops and Pad Ped with shrimp & scallops. The Spicy Beef Salad was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavors - beautiful crisp slices of cucumber, shredded carrot, crisp lettuce, rich juicy tomato and tender thinly sliced beef in a light but very spicy dressing. The Toa-Fu-Tod was like puffs of air, and with the sweet plum sauce it was like eating candy. My Pad Thai was overflowing with bean sprouts so fresh I imagined they were picked moments before the dish was served. The shrimp and scallops in both entrees were cooked to perfection. The scallops were tender, and the shrimp was out of this world. The Pad Ped was a very generous portion with fresh egg plant, bamboo shoots, onion, red and green peppers and hot chili sauce, and was accompanied by an equally generous serving of Thai jasmine rice. Amarin ranks in the top 3 Thai restaurants of our travels, and given the chance we'll surely return for more of their incredibly delicious food.

As an aficionado of Thai food, I've been visiting them for more than 20 years. I discovered this place about a year ago, been there a dozen times since, and can tell you that they're one of my favorites! Fresh food (twice I've been in there when they just came back from a fruit market with veggies), generous in the meat department, which is important, since for some reason, at other Thai restaurants, I get half way through the meal, only to find the chicken (or beef, or seafood) is just about gone. They also have the heat levels right (if you go to Thai restaurants you know what I mean), when I order hot, I get hot, and when friends order medium or mild, they get it just as ordered... Staff is friendly (family run), nice decor, and the place is always clean.

Its rare to find a Thai place that has consistently good food, but after 3 nights in a row i know this place is a top notch spot. Close by to the tech-center (I'm up in warren for training) great staff including a very pleasant girl that made all 3 suggestions for me. I would highly recommend the Pad Se'ew, Drunken Noodle, and Curry Noodle. Cant wait to come back next time I'm in the area. I look forward to trying more of there wonderful offerings. I will be back every time I'm in the area.

Extremely friendly staff. Quick and efficient. Very extensive menu. Delicious food across the board. Their "hot" spicy is very hot. They have five ranges of spice, so you can decide how wild you want to be. Overall, just a tremendous eating experience for lunch. I got the chicken Pad Thai and was stuffed to the brim.

They seemed to have a nice cozy dining area, although I came in for carryout. I ordered Seafood Combination and spring rolls, my boyfriend had Pad Khing. The spring rolls were absolutely amazing. The only thing I had to complain about is they had this slightly porky taste to them. I could probably eat four of these as a meal on a daily basis. The price was pretty average, $1 each. My boyfriends was super yummy. I usually dont like things with ginger too much but the ginger in this wasn't too overpowering. I also was expecting not to like the "brown sauce" AT ALL, but it was good too. He had chicken in his. It was nicely cooked, not chewy and rubbery at all. I like spice in my food. So much that at times I order an amount that leaves me not able to taste the other flavors in my food! Haha. My plate was still delicious though. Eating the rice with it deffinetly helps mellow out hot. The scallops were perfectly cooked, which i thought was surprising especially for a thai restuarant. There was a seemingly large amount of bamboo over everything else. I deffinetly plan on going again to try out some other dishes and stuff myself with yummy eggrolls.

Went to this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The place was quiet and there was only one couple there. The hostess/server seemed eager to please though. We were told to sit where ever we like. Took a seat in booth that was close to their 40inch plasma so I could watch some TV. I tried the Pad Se'ew with chicken and the other person tried Pad Prik with chicken. Both were very good. The Se'ew was really yummy but lacked veggies, so next time I think I would pay the extra $1.25 to add extra vegetables! The Pad prik was very good and served with a Huge bowl of white rice. This meal was loaded with veggies. The Pad Prik was definitely the healthier option. As stated previously in other reviews, people said that you got a cup of their vegetable soup with your dinner. We did not. Next time we go (hopefully soon) maybe we will get the Tom Yum soup and split the Pad Se'ew because it was a large portion. I agree with other reviews that medium is just fine if you like a little heat. I didn't give it 5 stars because we had to keep waiting for our refill of waters and had to ask the server to take our order. She was also busy doing carry-out. I am assuming on busier days they have more people working. All in all great meal and enjoyed it. We both took home boxes of food. Oh and the dinner cost of dinner cost us $17.50 + tip.

Top-notch, high quality Thai food. The tofu is like no other tofu I've ever eaten. The green curry knocked my socks off. By the way, I love that Amarin was pumping some loud hip-hop when we came in right before dinner hour on a Saturday. Some youngish people were in the back cooking, so we just sat ourselves; a few minutes later, an older woman came out and apologized and gave us some menus. The booty music was shut down and Nickolodeon was switched on while we ordered and waited for our food. This whole breach of classy dining protocol may have irked others, but I just found it endearing. Bring the booty back, Amarin!

Authentic food, very reasonably priced, very good portions, and a clean restaurant. I like family style dinners and that's how food is served here. Ofcourse you don't have to share food with whoever you are with but it's a great way to (share) try different dishes if it's your first time dining Thai. I like their fish dishes most especially. Siam Chicken is also very good. You can get a nice sized cup of Tom Yum soup for $1.50 and a nice small sweet cucumber salad for $1.00; granted that the cucumber salad isn't your traditional meal-like salad, it's more of a side dish to compliment your main course... it's pretty good offset to the richly spiced dinners. They recently opened another restaurant in Shelby Township, on the west side of Hayes, North of Hall Road. (in the same area as Christine's Cakes & Pastries from my previous review.)

I'm hooked on the T6 (Pad Prik) and I request extra mushrooms, which makes me enjoy it even more. Amarin staff are great, regard their customers' satisfaction as key to their success but their establishment/cuisine are truly a labor of love. I discovered them though a Thai business person I deal with...so grateful. The person who rated them as 1 star should give them another try. I also know if he complained to them, they would have make it right--no question.

After working double shifts a friend and I went in here seeking sustenance. The place was clean from what I could see, and the staff was very friendly and quick with bringing out and clearing our plates. We started off with some hot tea and got a nice little pot full of it brought to the table. We also ordered spring rolls, tom yum, and tom kha soup. The spring rolls were pretty standard, but I appreciated that they came out piping hot. The tom kha soup was flavorful without being too rich, and the tom yum was incredible. All of the vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked in a flavorful and not too salty broth. For entrees we ordered vegetable fried rice, vegetable delight (asked them to put some ginger in it too), and another dish I can't recall. All of the dishes were flavorful and well cooked. The spice was also good, but not as hot as I was expecting. I loved that they put a very healthy dose of ginger in mine upon request. My only complaint is that the sauces seemed a bit oilier than I would normally expect, but everything was good.

I'm new to Thai and this delicious place. Ate twice in the last month. Fresh fresh fresh tastes and the 'medium plus' spice level is the best. I've had the chicken fried rice (F1) & spring rolls (A1). Will be trying N1 real soon. Place is always busy. Friendly staff.

This place opens at 11:00 am and it was already pretty full when I arrived 15 minutes later. My first thought was crap, there's only two servers on the floor with an almost packed dining room. The ladies working the dining room were on it though as no one seemed to wait for anything and I didn't either. There's lots of other pluses here. The Tom Yum Soup was flavorful and it wasn't just a broth with a few things floating in it, but a fully loaded soup. The Pad Thai was pretty solid. They had the balance of flavors down to a tee so someone in the back knows their stuff. Another plus was that I ordered very spicy and got it. I've eaten a lot of Pad Thai and this is one of the better versions I've had. Another good thing is the price for a generous sized portion....$8.50. Awesome value here. The stats on this restaurant: 83% of the reviewers give this 4 and 5 stars. Pretty impressive isn't it? I'm going with 5 as I'll be damned if I can find anything bad to say about this place.

I grew up in Warren but always stuck to the same handful of restaurants as a kid. I was looking for a takeout place near my parents', and yelp led me to Amarin. I ordered the Pad Pew Waan with chicken, and it didn't disappoint. Just the right amount of spice in a delicious sauce. Fresh tasting ingredients, and good portions (I've got tons of leftovers). I haven't tried any of them yet, but Amarin has an interesting-looking friend rice menu that I bet is really good. All in all, a good experience.

If I could zero stars I would. How can anyone think this is authentic Thai food. I ordered the Pad See Ew and it was awful. Dry, wrong noodle used, brown sauce was non-existent and tasteless. Chicken was dried out and tough. I could get better food from the frozen section of the grocery store.

I went there for the first time today on lunch after reading some of these reviews. I arrived around 12:30 for lunch, and was seated immediately. I was greeted by a very pleasant waitress, and offered water very quickly. I ordered my "go to" dish at any Thai restaurant: Pad Ped w/ chicken, and medium spice. The lunch special came with a small cup of soup (chicken broth based -- not Tom Yum). The soup was fine, and a little bland. When my Pad Ped arrived, it looked fine, but nothing exceptional. The flavors were good, and I'd put the "heat" at about mild. It appeared that the egg plant in the dish was replaced with zucchini or squash. I was a little disappointed about the coconut milk/red curry sauce seemed oily and watered down. I am giving it 4 stars for now essentially for the quick service and pleasant staff. Also, you can't beat the price of $8 for a good amount of food. I have a "try it three times" rule, so I will be back.

Amarin is my lunch date haven in the food desert surrounding my beau's workplace. On the very rare days when he toils at the office and I have time off, we invariably have a rendezvous for one of the polished wooden booths snuggled underneath a trellis and a benevolent Thai deva smiling down. Romantic? A little, especially when it's quieter and you can have an actual conversation cut off from the main dining room where people read their emails and bask in the coconut curry glow of fluffy rice dishes. Thai food is a cuisine either very well done or terrible, in my experience. Overcooked noodles and bland spices can completely ruin a dish, but even during their rush between 11 AM and 1 PM, Amarin consistently delivers quality. The beau invariably goes for a bowl of tom yum soup and their pad thai, whereas I have slowly eaten my way through their lunch specials and generous noodle menu. All of them are good. I have yet to try something that did not appeal, though the staples like drunken noodle, the moist pad se-ew, and pad thai never fail to hit the spot. I can set how spicy I want a dish to be, from mild to 'melt my eyeballs like I'm from Bangkok.' Lunch will set a diner back about $12 per person, not including beverages; combos are closer to $10. Either option is well worth it given you have oodles of food to enjoy. Their shrimp is delicious; plump, cooked to just the right measure of juiciness, and never tiny. Mix that up with some freshly chopped green peppers, a handful of torn basil, and a spritz of lime for a fine meal guaranteed to tide you over for supper time if, in fact, you have a desire to eat at all. I can't manage to dent more than half my plate, especially with the free rice soup that magically appears within a few moments of any order. Freshness all around really does Amarin justice. Nothing like having freshly chopped carrots, cilantro torn so recently you can smell the herbs, and crushed peanuts that haven't spent hours on a shelf. Service is very good even when people are lined up to the walls, provided by smiling servers quick to offer refills and whisk away used plates, empty bowls, and the like. They get your bill laid down and leave diners be, accommodating the suit and tie set in a hurry to get back for a meeting or the more casual diner. Warning: the parking lot is small and narrow, especially around peak hours. Expect that you might have to angle into a tight spot or park across the street at the much larger shopping mall.

Went here for lunch a few days back and came away thinking it was the best meal I've had so far in Warren. Just a hole in the wall type of place which all the best Asian restaurants are. Started off with the Tom Kha soup. Love that combination of the coconut milk and kaffir and this delivered with a wake-up-your-taste buds punch. Followed that up with the gang karee with beef. Perfect amount of spice, massive flavor. There's no under-seasoning or muted flavors going on here. Huge amount of food for the price, quick and delicious. It's everything a great Thai restaurant should be.

Lunch prices are fair, they are super fast, and the food is far above average. I first had the green curry with chicken and eggplant. Not bad, but a little mild for "medium plus". The whole basil leaves were a nice touch. Very pretty presentation. 4/5 for that dish. Then I had the red curry with chicken and bamboo shoots. Man oh man. That hit the spot. Perfect spice level. Very complex flavor in the curry. Bamboo was done perfectly. 5/5 for that dish.

Went here for grad party. Dont get East side as much. Nice place. Excellent Thai tea. I just nimbled from others plate. All tasted solid. I have a strong spot closer to home but this place was enjoyable. Like the plates the food is served on. Seemed to have a lot of carryout people stopping by. Loved the decor wood panel stuff. Cool statue.

Went here during the weekday lunch rush.....hard to get a table (or even in the door) if you arrive in the thick of it! Anyway, we got a table and ordered a few curry dishes. They were both good and I think as "authentic" as anything you will find in this area, so go for it if you have a hankering for Thai.

I have been going here for lunch at least once a week for the past year, It is always packed during lunch but you never have to wait very long, the waitresses are extremely efficient and so is the kitchen. It isn't that spicy with medium plus, gives it enough flavor, my go to is pad cashew with chicken medium plus. Soup is included in the lunch.
(5)

Just tried their Pad Thai and Masaman Curry. Pad Thai was good....but did not blow me away. Flavor was just ok. Not enough sour notes. I have had better. Hubby had the Masaman Curry. He liked it. Good flavor, great texture. Not too bad over all.

Great Thai fried rice! Very quick for carry out and very affordable. Good customer service, and they do not mind special orders, which is always a plus.

Some of the best Thai I've had yet. It seems as if all of the ingredients are superbly fresh and their level of spice is just right. You will not be disappointed with either the Pad Woon Sen or Pad Thai. The Fresh Rolls are also a winner...

Well this was a surprise. One night we escaped my mother in laws' house with the excuse that we hadn't eaten yet and did not want to get home too late. Figures that we decide to scram at a time where most places will close soon, and I am in no mood to drive 40 minutes and then still make dinner. In need of a little Yelp-help, I found Amarin within 20 minutes of closing. I felt bad strolling in late, but my stomach needed food. Hopefully of the good kind. I say that this place and its food was a little bit of a surprise, because when we walked in the place smelled funky to say in the least. It was obvious they had started to clean the diningroom in preparation of closing, and the joint smelled like wet dishrag instead of yummy grub. We ordered springrolls, he had beef pad see ew, and I ordered tofu pad thai. The springrolls were well-received. Crunchy, light with a tasty shredded filling. We ordered seconds. Yes- the tofu is pretty aight here! What's funny is that I liked his better and he preferred mine. We did a quick switcharoo, I ditched the beef and he ditched the tofu and we transplanted these items in our brand new dishes. We'll be back whenever we are on this side of town again. It is not the best thai we have had, nor the most authentic but it's a pretty solid choice if you are in the mood for Americanized sweet noodley things.

My favorite spot to eat when I want Thai food. The service is quick and friendly and the food delicious. If I'm eating with someone, I usually start my meal with an order of the spring rolls or fresh roll. Some of the meals I've enjoyed include the pad thai, curry noodle, vegetable fried rice with shrimp, pad ped, gang kheaw warn, and the vegetable curry. Go crazy and try something you've never had before. It's all good and you can't go wrong! Enjoy!!

I can't call here & not give the girl answering the phone a hard time, she laughs every time. I order the Pad Thai, & they don't offer it as a combo, which seems like a punishment for us Pad Thai fans. The dish runs 9 dollars and some change but its worth it. Moist noodles, juicy chicken, bright green scallions, just the right amount of spice topped with crisp fresh bean sprouts and plenty of crushed nuts, served with a lemon that helps hit every sense possible. The people here are super nice & do everything they can to make sure you become a regular!

The pad se ewe was good, but for the life of me I couldn't get over how dirty it felt in there. I suppose if you carry out and don't have to look behind the soda cooler or at the floor too long it may gain more stars. But if the fronts not clean... I really start to worry about what the back kitchen area must look like.
I've been eating the garlic fried rice for years and it has always been good, until today. Just ate here a month ago and it was still good, albeit a little mild, but today it just isn't right: not enough garlic and the rice isn't cooked right. Very disappointing, must have a new cook; hopefully this is temporary.

When people ask if there's anything I really won't eat, my answer is typically no, but I usually don't jump at the opportunity to go for Thai food. Don't get me wrong, I like it... I'll eat it... it just wasn't my first choice. Go figure that a couple weeks ago, my taste buds decided after listening to several people talk about Thai food and my coworkers eating it around me that we needed to go get some Thai food.... My mom actually recommended Amarin after having it brought in to her work place a couple of times. I was super impressed. Service was great, food was exceptional - what else could you ask for. The decor is a little different, given that one side of the place has fabulous Thai carved-wood decor and the opposite looks like a standard diner, but the food disguises any visual issues with the location. The Pad Se-ew that I ordered was AWESOME!! I will definitely be back, I am no longer a "meh Thai food" person - bring it on!

My wife and I made an Amarin run late tonight. We were looking for a place in that area. What a pleasant surprise it was. I loved the hot, juicy spring roll. My vegetable fried rice was a perfect mild plus with al dente vegetables and fresh tofu, very well balanced. Our waitress, too, was extremely helpful to me, pointing out which dishes could be ordered sans fish sauce. "I can bring this home when I come home from work this way," said my wife. "Yes, please do," I replied.

They have consistent food and large Michigan portions (even for Michigan standards). I wouldn't go out of the way to order Thai here- but this place is always packed for Lunch and Take-outs.
(4)
Decibelle D.
The food is great but the portions are small and the prices are too high. I mean rice is cheap people. Give your customers the amount of food that matches what they are paying. The owners all drive nice luxury cars so I guess that's more important than giving larger portions.
(2)
Kevin J.
I must have missed the special Kool-Aid they were serving to all yelp reviewers as I found this joint to be wack, weak and profoundly undope. They were slammed as all hell when I went for lunch, so I won't hold it against them that service was slow. That's to be expected. What's not to be expected was completely bland Pad Thai with a spice level that could be best described as "not" when I distinctly ordered "hot". (Sorry-that sounds like a bad Springerism, I know.) And it was a scant portion, too. What had the lemmings lining up for carry-out I guess I'll never know, as I don't plan on going back. Not unless one of you zealots drags me there.

PSA to vegetarians: AMARIN IS NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY. I called to ask if there was fish sauce in the curry because that is a common ingredient and it does, but so does every dish, except apparently the sweet and sour. Their menu says that vegetarians can substitute vegetables and tofu to make their dishes vegetarian but that's not true. Brown sauce = oyster sauce, not vegetarian. The manager was upfront and polite when I asked about it, which is appreciated but it is 100% ILLEGAL to advertise non-vegetarian items as such. This doesn't matter to most of you, since you probably just come looking for food, but Asian cuisine is commonly consumed by parties of vegetarians and carnivores together since they usually have something for everyone, so don't bring your vegetarian friends here or they will become very sick. If anyone knows the owners, you should politely warn them that they can be sued (mc donald's lost a multi-millioon dollar suit for their non-vegetarian french fries that they falsely advertised) or shut down by the health department.

It in my neighborhood, this place use to be really good when they first open. Right now it's ok. The chicken larb is ok. Pai Thai is ok as well. Curry dish are a little bit light on sauce. Appetizer are good. Everything is average ...

I visited Amarin to introduce my parents to Thai Cuisine. Living in Chicago, I have about 20 Thai restaurants within a few miles. Thus, my standards are quite high. Luckily, Amarin delivered on my expectations. The pad thai was very good and the drunken noodles were outstanding. The restaurant is a bit dated, but the food and service would definitely bring me back.

I wish I had the experience and amazing food everyone else on here raved about. Thai fried rice with fried garlic at a mild plus level. There was zero flavor, not a touch of heat, sticky blah rice, zero veggies, and cold fried garlic that had a texture of toffee. I should have stayed home and enjoyed some Mac and Cheese. 1st impressions mean a lot and the quick brush off and over priced cold flavorless rice I received will remove this spot from my list. Spicy Thai on 11 Van Dyke...I will never cheat on you again. Flavor and a taste you will crave!!!!

I got another carryout recently and I'm raising the rating here up a notch (see my previous review) and here's why: The freshness and quality of vegetables and sauce and the fact their shrimp is actually deveined. Comments: I saw someone here who looked like the heat of the food was overcoming them. My guess is that the owners see this enough to be afraid and tone down the heat. I found if you normally like a medium heat get at least hot here. Also, the amount of food you get is reasonable considering the fresh quality but the portion is smaller than other Thai in the area and does not leave much leftovers (I like big portions even if I can't finish it). From the other reviewers it looks like lunch is the best value here. 3.75 Stars (rounds out to 4)

Amarin Thai is awesome. It's in Warren, which is an automatic point with me because I want my city to have cool shit. I broadly lump Thai restaurants into three general categories, in my own head, based on the style of cooking and recipes that some of the Thai families in town seem to share. Amarin is the same style (and nearly the same menu) as Sala Thai (Sterling Heights, Detroit), Bangkok Cafe in Ferndale, and the former Ruan Thai in Madison Heights. The dishes that stand out here are the Pad Prik Khing (Gingery hot sauce on top of green beans) and the Pad Kra Tiem Prik Thai (water chestnuts, fried garlic, black pepper). Their Gaeng masamun is also really good. But by far my favorite thing here is the sauce that comes with the Fresh Rolls. Yes, it's an appetizer, but man, I could pour that sauce all over everything, including my face. I'd take a shower in that stuff. The biggest disappointment are the soups. Both their Tom Yum and their Tom Kha are just kind of mediocre. I love me some Thai soup, but unfortunately I have to go elsewhere for it. The prices are on par with most other Thai restaurants in town, and the service is friendly enough. The place is very pleasant, with wide wooden booths that seat six. Amarin is yet another gem of a Thai restaurant. Not the absolute best, but damned good.

OK Thai food. Definitely had better. Flavor was not too strong. Portions were good, prices were OK. No one in my group was disappointed but it's not one of the many places that I bookmark to go back to If I ever visit a city again

First time eating here, recomended by several friends. I must say it was really good! Loved their spring rolls n the sauce had a kick to it which I liked. For the entree I had Pad Prik with Chicken, and it was very good. Hard to find a good Thai place on the eastside of town. Definatly will become a regular customer.

Went based off yelp reviews for best reviewed in the area and was not disappointed. Ordered the chicken pad thai, hot, as a lunch and came with soup. Service was good and the food came out very fast. The pad thai was great. I would definitely come back next time I am in the area to try some curry!

Today, I stopped for lunch at Amarin Thai Cuisine. Interestingly, it was recommended to me by Yelpers and non-Yelpers alike. So, I figured I'd give it a shot, especially since it's so close to my Warren work site. My dish took a little time--a little more time than the noodle dishes I saw going to other tables. Okay, fine. No problem, I thought. My food was certainly worth the wait. I ordered the Gang Pla: fried catfish, sauteed green peppers, carrots, and bamboo shoots cooked in coconut milk and red curry sauce. I ordered it mild, because my stomach can't handle spicy stuff too well anymore. (I blame it on an ex-girlfriend. I never had a problem until I got involved with her. Just kidding.) Besides, at the mere hint of spicy heat, I start to perspire a shower of sweat. Annoying? Yes. Embarassing? Uh...I'm far too absorbed in my "suffering" to care. Anyway, the food came after about 15 minutes. It was a gorgeous dish with all those lovely colors: red, green, yellow, orange, brown. It smelled wonderful with that slightly pungent aroma of thai curries with coconut milk. The sauce tasted lovely with just that hint of fish sauce. If the sauce weren't so good, I might criticize the fish for being so breaded. It was almost like I was eating the cod from a fish and chips, but it really didn't matter. The flavor was wonderful with a little spice, a little fish sauce, a little of that coconut milk richness. I used the white rice and a little order of cucumber salad to balance things out a little bit. It was great. I look forward to more trips to Amarin Thai Cuisine. Thanks, Yelpers and non-Yelpers!

This place is super yummy. The lunch prices are really reasonable ($7-$8) and the portions are generous for lunch. I also love coconut ice cream and this place tastes way better than Bangkok 96. I'm not a huge fan of very spicy food, and this place really understands "mild" making my food with the perfect amount of spice. Service is very fast - you get your food right away. I had Almond Pad or Pad Almond, or something like that, and my boyfriend got the drunken noodles, both dishes were amazing and I stuffed myself into a food coma. Try it out, I didn't love Thai food until this place :)

I decided to explore out of my comfort area of Thai food and try Amarin Thai which I saw has great reviews. I traveled to this store front that I missed on the first pass only to get stuck behind and follow a line of three cars that also missed it and were going to the same place. First impression is okay I can see what they are going for, a casual dining experience with a nice decor. I ordered one of my usual 'if you screw this one up I will never come back' meals and thought it strange how quickly I received my food with five take out orders ahead of me. I took my order back to my car where I made the greatest mistake that I have made in a while, I tried it in the car on my way home. I don't think that the food stood a chance of making it home after this first bite. It was gone within the first five miles by just stopping at traffic lights and back ups. The only problem that I had with this experience was they forgot to put a fork in my bag. Luckily I had one already in the car.

I'm giving this a 5-star rating on the Chicken Pad Thai that I ordered - it was amazing! Will definitely go back for lunch, well worth the drive.

Oooh... I miss this place SO much! From the first time I walked here, I have been introduced to so many different Thai flavor combinations that never knew I would like. Every time I asked, "what should I try today?" the owner would suggest something new and wow.. One of my favorites was the appetizer of chicken wrapped in shrimp and deep fried (A-5) then she would suggest for dinner anything with chilies, garlic, and eggplant. They were always very accommodating to my request of using very little or no oil in the stir fry, which is difficult to find. The sweet plantains are also delicious too! They are always very friendly and service is given with a smile.

Yummmmmeh! Is all I gotta say. :D This place definately curbed my Thai appetite, once again. Pretty mellow place, nice/attentative staff and of course DELICIOUS-SUPER-YUMMY-FOOD! Oh jeeze. I just went there 2 days ago and wanna go again!

Cosistently great and fresh quality. I'm in the Crazy Noodles rut and need to break out into other dishes.

I drive miles out of my way to go to Amarin Thai. The food is SOOOOO good. I especially love their curry noodles (which can be hard to find). Their spring rolls are delicious and don't taste like they've been fried in rancid oil (unlike some other thai places I've eaten in recently), and their service is fast. I keep thinking they'll let me down by letting the quality of food slide, but it's been three years and they're still amazing. Also, medium is mild-ish medium, so you don't have to hold back on the spice.

I love Thai food & will always judge a place by how their PAD THAI is. Ordered carry out medium spice pad thai and it was fantastic. Very good flavor and just the right amount of heat. The woman at the counter was worried it may be too hot for a first timer, but I was happy with the result. $10 for a dinner portion is a little more than most places in the area but pleanty to share or like I did, save for lunch leftovers. Ill be a return customer! Look forward to trying other dishes

Best Thai in the area, very consistent and good portions. I get the Pad Pedal, and never been disappointed.

This wasn't the first time I went out of my way to try something just because my fellow yelpers told me to, and I doubt it will be my last, since more often than not... they have proven to be a trustworthy source. They said Amarin Thai has amazing tofu and, sure enough, Amarin Thai does have *amazing* tofu. The best I've had anywhere. It's very soft, and not spongey like other tofus I've had, although I definitely have a taste for both. The Gang Kheaw Warn, green curry with eggplant, was wonderful, if not a little salty. The eggplant they used was slightly different than most I've had, in that it was cut from a smaller eggplant and more like medallions than those giant half-circles you get most places. In addition to its tastiness, it was visually vibrant and fresh looking. The Toa-Fu-Tod (which I've never really been that tempted to order, but was on this occasion after all the hype about the tofu), was yummy. The tofu rectangles were very gently deep-fried, but not greasy at all. The texture of the crispy outside with the soft-as-can-be inside and the plum sauce (a mixture of scallions, plum sauce and ground peanuts), was really something. The Tom Yum Soup was really salty. It had great, strong flavor, but too salty nonetheless. I should note that both the Tom Yum Soup and the plum sauce that was served with the Toa-Fu-Tod, were identical to those of Bangkok Cafe in Ferndale. I've had that same sauce with the fresh rolls at Bangkok Cafe countless times. In fact, all of the food reminded me of Bangkok Cafe when it used to be good, which was a long time ago now. I asked the waitress if there was any relation or if the people in the back used to work there or something and she said no. I don't believe it. It's rare you find the exact same flavors between Thai places, so... Anyway, service was great, although the food took a bit longer than expected to come out. I relate this directly to its freshness. Fresh food, good service, wonderful flavors, and excellent heat level (the medium plus was nearly too painful to eat, but not quite). That all makes this a great find and I wish it was just a little closer so I could justify going there for a carry-out. I will definitely be adding this place into the Thai rotation though.

I have had thai food all over Metro Detroit area and I use to think Bangkok 96 in Dearborn was the best. That's until I had Amarin. This is the best place for Thai in my book. Their Pad Thai with tofu is so good. Actually everything I have tried their is top notch. Like Janelle W has said in her review, their Tofu is the best. I'm korean and I know tofu! I usually get their appetizer Tofu Tod and get tofu in a noodle dish or even their regular brown sauce dishes. I actually never had their chicken or beef. Only tofu in everything!! They have good service also. Good prices and great thai food. This place is a must for any thai fans!

I don't say this about many restaurants, but in all honesty, I could eat at Amarin 5-days a week. I've been back in Warren just a few months, but have probably visited Amarin at least 15 times since then. This is Thai food at the freshest of the fresh, they know how to spice things appropriately and their staff absolutely kicks butt. What rocks most about Amarin is definitely the curries. Try any of them and you're almost certain to find them authentic, served in a traditional style and will have you craving more. This is the kind of thai place that you take food home and taste it again before you get it to the refrigerator. It's that good. My favorite dishes include the traditional Pad Prik, their Tom Yum soup and their Siam Chicken. They always serve a free cup of soup with their lunch and the prices are incredibly reasonable. You'll often find residents from the local hospital quickly inhaling food here, but believe me, enjoy every bite. This is a jewel of the eastern burbs and is currently my favorite Thai spot in all of metro Detroit.

The most memorable item was the fried garlic side dish. It was really crunchy and very good with fried rice and pad Thai. One order of fried garlic is enough for two. Tom yum soup is full of crispy veges and chicken. Love the Kow pad nam prik pow (F6). Wait is fast and capable. She took care of all the tables.

I work at SJMH and we come here all the time for lunch. The staff is very VERY accommodating when we come with a large group and the girls bust their butt to make sure we get excellent service. I would probably skip coming here on a Friday at lunch as it can get really hectic. The food is excellent and fairly consistent as far as level of spice and quality. I always get the T2 and it's delicious. The portions are large and the sauce is delish. The food is well priced and always fresh.

This place is worth searching out if you are in a must-have-Thai craving fit. Awesomely delicious food all around. I'm a tofu-addict and Amarin does it right. Great menu and they don't over do it with the sauces, nice and light enough to compliment the ingredients instead of overpowering them. Wait staff is always friendly and helpful. They are totally agreeable to making changes in the dishes. PLEASE order the apple salad appetizer! It is phenomenal and I often go just for this dish. Apples, cashews, onion, and chicken sprinkled with citrus and sugar. I just love this place, Okay? Great, great food. Go.

Enjoy!!
I've been eating the garlic fried rice for years and it has always been good, until today. Just ate here a month ago and it was still good, albeit a little mild, but today it just isn't right: not enough garlic and the rice isn't cooked right. Very disappointing, must have a new cook; hopefully this is temporary.

Decibelle D.
The food is great but the portions are small and the prices are too high. I mean rice is cheap people. Give your customers the amount of food that matches what they are paying. The owners all drive nice luxury cars so I guess that's more important than giving larger portions.

One of the best thai places in the area. Food is always good, and the servers are so friendly

I have tried a lot of different Thai resturants. This one is my favorite. I love the house salad (which is vegetarian). Best Thai food in my area!

Went based off yelp reviews for best reviewed in the area and was not disappointed. Ordered the chicken pad thai, hot, as a lunch and came with soup. Service was good and the food came out very fast. The pad thai was great. I would definitely come back next time I am in the area to try some curry!

Go.

The noodles and traditional dishes are usually very delicious. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable. But, it is not perfect.

(4)Pat M.
Always good food. Great portions. They get the orders right. Always very tasty and satisfying.
(5)Vik A.
Love this place. Its really authentic and service is always consistent.

(3)Emilio B.
Awesome place! Been looking for a great Thai place for this area and this is it. Super friendly staff and their fresh rolls are amazing. Get the shrimp ones over the chicken fresh rolls.
(5)Christopher M.
I love coming to Amarin anytime I'm craving good Thai food, especially Pad Thai. They have a good menu, and the service is always better than average.
(4)David M.
(1)Jef S.

(4)Jon C.
(4)Julian B.

(3)Michael W.
(5)Margo M.
Just tried their Pad Thai and Masaman Curry. Pad Thai was good....but did not blow me away. Flavor was just ok. Not enough sour notes. I have had better. Hubby had the Masaman Curry. He liked it. Good flavor, great texture. Not too bad over all.
(4)Hayley B.
Great Thai fried rice! Very quick for carry out and very affordable. Good customer service, and they do not mind special orders, which is always a plus.
(5)David M.
Some of the best Thai I've had yet. It seems as if all of the ingredients are superbly fresh and their level of spice is just right. You will not be disappointed with either the Pad Woon Sen or Pad Thai. The Fresh Rolls are also a winner...
(5)Nathasja T.
(4)Kayla C.
I think this place was divine. Gorgeous atmosphere and the server was really nice! Veggies were crisp and the hot tea was delicious.
(5)Shanari G.
Enjoy!!
(5)Pauly G.
(4)Kelly L.
(2)Chase A.
Who'd have thought that delicious Thai food would be hiding in Warren? My fiancé and I opted for take-out tonight, and we were both very impressed. I opted for fried rice with a mushrooms, onions, and peppers; she had a very spicy curry and cashew dish. Both were just hot enough to enhance the flavor without being overwhelming. The spices were excellent, and the portions were solid. This is a great little hidden gem.
(5)Phillip L.
I've been eating the garlic fried rice for years and it has always been good, until today. Just ate here a month ago and it was still good, albeit a little mild, but today it just isn't right: not enough garlic and the rice isn't cooked right. Very disappointing, must have a new cook; hopefully this is temporary.
(2)Kate R.
(4)Bill B.
(4)Virginia C.
They have consistent food and large Michigan portions (even for Michigan standards). I wouldn't go out of the way to order Thai here- but this place is always packed for Lunch and Take-outs.
(4)Decibelle D.
The food is great but the portions are small and the prices are too high. I mean rice is cheap people. Give your customers the amount of food that matches what they are paying. The owners all drive nice luxury cars so I guess that's more important than giving larger portions.
(2)Kevin J.

(2)Dionysus P.
Absolutely the best Thai food you ever want to eat. I've been to several thai restaurants and hands down Amarin is the best.
(5)Erin K.
I routinely get carryout here and it is always fast and accurate and the girls cashing me out are always very nice. Everything is packaged well and the food is always really good and fresh. I recommend the spring rolls and drunken chicken with tofu.
(4)Lisa Y.
It in my neighborhood, this place use to be really good when they first open. Right now it's ok. The chicken larb is ok. Pai Thai is ok as well. Curry dish are a little bit light on sauce. Appetizer are good. Everything is average ...
(3)Dennis L.
(4)Abbey M.
(1)Tony S.
3.75 Stars (rounds out to 4)
(4)Brian A.
(4)Tim B.
OK Thai food. Definitely had better. Flavor was not too strong. Portions were good, prices were OK. No one in my group was disappointed but it's not one of the many places that I bookmark to go back to If I ever visit a city again
(3)Stephanie S.
(4)Philip S.
One of the best thai places in the area. Food is always good, and the servers are so friendly
(4)Meagan E.
I have tried a lot of different Thai resturants. This one is my favorite. I love the house salad (which is vegetarian). Best Thai food in my area!
(5)Ryan R.

(4)Jenny Z.
(5)David S.
(4)Anthony D.
I'm giving this a 5-star rating on the Chicken Pad Thai that I ordered - it was amazing! Will definitely go back for lunch, well worth the drive.
(5)Christine P.
(5)Claire J.
Yummmmmeh! Is all I gotta say. :D This place definately curbed my Thai appetite, once again. Pretty mellow place, nice/attentative staff and of course DELICIOUS-SUPER-YUMMY-FOOD! Oh jeeze. I just went there 2 days ago and wanna go again!
(4)Bob D.
Cosistently great and fresh quality. I'm in the Crazy Noodles rut and need to break out into other dishes.
(4)Kara H.
(4)Audi B.
(4)Steve P.
Best Thai in the area, very consistent and good portions. I get the Pad Pedal, and never been disappointed.
(4)Kate H.
(4)Michael K.
Great Thai at a reasonable price. Pad Ped is very good.
(4)Seoung L.
(5)Daniel E.

Go.
(5)Kelly L.
(2)Shanari G.
Enjoy!!

I've been eating the garlic fried rice for years and it has always been good, until today. Just ate here a month ago and it was still good, albeit a little mild, but today it just isn't right: not enough garlic and the rice isn't cooked right. Very disappointing, must have a new cook; hopefully this is temporary.
(2)Margo M.
(5)Pauly G.

(5)Ellen K.
(4)David M.
(1)Julian B.
(3)Friend of D.
(3)Michael W.
(5)Diane A.
(5)Jef S.
(4)Jody C.
(4)Pat M.
Always good food. Great portions. They get the orders right. Always very tasty and satisfying.
(5)Vik A.
Love this place. Its really authentic and service is always consistent.

(4)Kayla C.
I think this place was divine. Gorgeous atmosphere and the server was really nice! Veggies were crisp and the hot tea was delicious.
(5)Kate R.
(4)Bill B.
(4)Virginia C.
They have consistent food and large Michigan portions (even for Michigan standards). I wouldn't go out of the way to order Thai here- but this place is always packed for Lunch and Take-outs.
(4)Heather J.

(4)Jon C.
(4)Decibelle D.
The food is great but the portions are small and the prices are too high. I mean rice is cheap people. Give your customers the amount of food that matches what they are paying. The owners all drive nice luxury cars so I guess that's more important than giving larger portions.
(2)Kevin J.

(4)Abbey M.
(1)Tony S.
3.75 Stars (rounds out to 4)
(4)Brian A.
(4)Tim B.
OK Thai food. Definitely had better. Flavor was not too strong. Portions were good, prices were OK. No one in my group was disappointed but it's not one of the many places that I bookmark to go back to If I ever visit a city again
(3)Seoung L.
(5)Daniel E.
(4)Philip S.
One of the best thai places in the area. Food is always good, and the servers are so friendly
(4)Meagan E.
I have tried a lot of different Thai resturants. This one is my favorite. I love the house salad (which is vegetarian). Best Thai food in my area!
(5)Ryan R.
Went based off yelp reviews for best reviewed in the area and was not disappointed. Ordered the chicken pad thai, hot, as a lunch and came with soup. Service was good and the food came out very fast. The pad thai was great. I would definitely come back next time I am in the area to try some curry!
(5)Christine P.
(4)Kate H.

Great Thai at a reasonable price. Pad Ped is very good.

Go.
(5)Kara H.
(4)Audi B.
(4)Steve P.
Best Thai in the area, very consistent and good portions. I get the Pad Pedal, and never been disappointed.
(4)Justin S.

The noodles and traditional dishes are usually very delicious. The service is fast and friendly. The prices are reasonable. But, it is not perfect.
