Finally got to have lunch here. I LOVE the food here and service is always outstanding. However, this lunch exceeded all expectations. As I chatted with the server I told her this was along awaited lunch as my daughter had triplets and I was so involved taking care of them I don't get out much. Well she informed the management and the manager came over and said lunch was on the house! Wow! How sweet is that..

Dined here on Memorial Day of all days, his very unpatriotic of us. It was slow due to the holiday which was fine by me. Our server was very nice however my parents had never been to a PF Changs before and had some questions that he really didn't know the answer to. So that was a bit disappointing. I ordered the lobster rice and while it was really yummy I didn't gather from the description that the lobster would be fried. I was a smidge sadden that my beautiful lobster was deep fried but let's face it, it was tasty. My parents also enjoyed their meals: Korean BBQ and Asian Salmon. I also had the best fortune cookie ever it read simply "beer"....my kind of fortune!

I used to go here more than I do now (I probably go to Pei Wei more than PF Chang's) but was meeting a friend for lunch and I can walk here from work (bonus). I have a few free appetizer coupons left from years ago, when you used to be able to take their surveys on your receipts, so we got the chicken lettuce wraps - kinda pricey at $8.95, but always delicious. I got the honey chicken with white rice, and hot and sour soup. Your choices with your lunch entree are hot and sour soup, egg drop soup, or a mixed salad, which I think is new. Service was great - my water glass was never empty - until the end, when she seemed to have drifted off somewhere. We also split the mini tiramisu and the chocolate peanut butter crunch cake for dessert ($2.95) each, which were delicious. I guess they got rid of their shooter / shot glass desserts though, I always liked those. $2.95 is a pretty good deal for a small slice of tiramisu or cake, though. I'd be back to this location when I want to go somewhere sit-down in the mall for lunch.

Good, better than average Chinese food. Fried pork dumplings, beef lo mien and Mongolian beef were all very good. The Mongolian beef is pretty heavy on the green onion. They will switch for another veg if you request. We had a great waiter

Horrible service. Food was ok. We were party of 6, our waitress was loud and rude. One of us ordered a beer and she confirmed the name of beer, after 10 mins or so we inquired about the same and she blandly refused of taking any order of beer. The place has good ambiance and decent seating arrangements. Cocktails were nice.

Our server was great. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. We took a couple boxes home. Loved the spicy chicken. Service was quick and the wonton desert was incredible. It's more of a special occasion spot, but worth it if you're able.

The food was alright but nothing special. It definitely isn't worth the price (I like the food at other Chinese restaurants and sushi places much more and they happen to be cheaper as well). The waiting time for our food was a little long too. I went on a Friday night when it was packed so I could understand why there was a significant waiting time but it was still a little longer than that of many other restaurants. The atmosphere itself is pretty nice but nothing special. You're basically paying slightly high prices to eat average food in a pretty nice place. I personally don't think I'll be going back again but it's not a bad option if you really feel like having Chinese food and eating at a nice restaurant at the same time.

We often eat here after shopping! It usually is great food, great service 2 for $40 is a great deal! This time the server was more concerned with clearing her tables than serving them. There are so many other options to eat. I will keep that in mind for future dining at Somerset!

The crab wontons are consistently good and fresh! The huge chocolate cake never disappoints.

My concern about PF Chang's isn't with this location in particular, but rather with the few PF Chang's I've visited (different ones in different parts of the country). Everything tastes the same! I thought it was my imagination, but I just went back with a friend and he agreed. If you eat here, I recommend only ordering a soup and one other item, or else your taste buds are going to have a strange sense of deja vu.

This review may be a little biased based on my views about good restaurants becoming too commercialized. When there were only a few PF Chang's they were quite good. No that they are in every city they have really gone down in quality. Same with Cheesecake Factory. But off my soapbox and on to the review. My girlfriend had the Singapore street noodles and I had the kung pao chicken. The noodles were a bit too sticky, as if they were undercooked or dry. Otherwise they were pretty good. Once upon a time I used to brag about how PF Chang's would cook their meat and then add the sauce for flavor, not douse the meat with sauce like a mall Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately I can no longer say that. The kung pao chicken just had way more sauce than was necessary. It's unfortunate this Chang's is like the rest I've been to in that their quality has taken a back seat to quantity. At least the service is still pretty good.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star! Talk about awful , ever since of changs sold its been disgusting . From the sushi drenched in the siracha from the walnut shrimp with NO sauce. It also took over an hour to get our food. The carry out is also awful. The kitchen is slow as hell! Never again!!!!!!

I haven't been to any of the PF Changs here in Michigan yet, and tonight was my first time at this location. I was meeting a date here for the first time, and we met up at around 7 PM for some dinner. For starters, I didn't know that this location was inside the mall. There's a partial entrance outside, but I didn't see it from the way I came in (which was from the back.) After calling the restaurant, I figured out which entrance I needed to get into and wandered in and found my date. Considering the place was packed, we were seated almost immediately. Nothing like a quick wait! Our server was friendly, considering she must have been swamped as all get out. She took our drink orders and came back within a few minutes. When she brought out the drinks, she dumped them everywhere. All over the floor, the table, and part of my pants. Not a lot on my pants, but enough that I was slightly wet. I played it off, but they cleaned it up immediately. The poor girl was embarrassed, so I didn't want to add to the problem. I can only imagine how bad she felt! After reviewing the menu, my date and I ordered our dishes. I can't remember what he got, but it was some kind of flank steak dish. It looked really tasty. I pondered a few different things, but went with old faithful, sweet and sour chicken. Both of us opted for the white rice, and it was quite tasty. We were both kind of surprised that the white rice came out in one big bowl, which means we had to share. I don't have a problem sharing white rice, it just means we had to take turns scooping it on our plates. It wasn't a problem, but I think maybe I would have *almost* preferred separate bowls. Overall our experience here was fine. Service was quick, friendly and efficient, prices are fair and it's good for American Chinese cuisine. Great atmosphere and plenty of room to sit and move about.

The decor, the ambience, the food, the drinks and the service. Everything is top notch. I am saying all this after visiting on a Friday evening and they were almost to capacity but there was no compromise on anything. The servers set the food on the table as per the course of the meal neither r u waiting for food nor the food has to wait on the table and go cold before anyone can serve themselves. As for the food itself it's very very good chineese food. It's aromatic and we'll flavored and light on your stomach. I particularly liked the dimsums, the salt and pepper chicken, the honey chichen, the sesame chicken and not to forget the garlic noodles. Nice setting for a good quality meal with family friends or a date. Totally recommend. Do call ahead and reserve If possible.

The food and atmosphere are great! The service? Even better! We love Nick the manager, always stopping by to say hello. He really understands the importance of making regulars feel important and welcome. We traditionally sit at the bar. Leslie and Nadia are great. They are always good for a smile, a laugh and impeccable service. And if all that weren't already enough, the Sea Bass melts in your mouth. The Changs Chicken Noodle Soup will warm you up, make you feel better, cure hang overs! It's a miracle in a bowl. And I know they are known for their Lettuce Wraps. They are great. But oh my, the Pan Fried Pork Dumplings are the best.

Tasty! The food has great flavor and is served super hot. I had the lunch sized sweet and sour chicken it was perfectly cooked. I also had a pot of hot green tea which is the perfect addition to lunch. Advice is to go on an off time so that you do not have a long wait.

I'm always traveling around with work and always end up at P.F. Changs in TROY MI. The food and atmosphere are amazing. Ted the general manager always comes to our table and asks how everything is and makes it a friendly warm atmosphere. Leslie the bartender remembers everyone by name and always builds a relationship with her customers. I always recommend this place to my other co workers n friends. One of the best locations to eat in Michigan. Please check it out!!!!!!!

One of my favorite corporate restaurants. Great food, cocktails, and desserts. That is a triple bonus for me. This location has great service and it is right in the mall, so after a long day of shopping PF Changs it the perfect place to grab a refreshing cocktail and eat flavorful asian food.

It looks like PF Chang Ann Arbor, Mi. is not listed, so I have to surreptitiously write a review for this new unlisted location in the already listed Troy area.. Please, understand this review is for the newly opened PF Chang in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The decor closely mirrors the decor of the other "Changs". Lovely, attractive. Those imperious horses do welcome you into a land of fascination. How about the food? Well, the lettuce wraps were exactly the same I ate several times at CPK...obviously a mass produced item for all restaurants. The wanton soup remained in the "want-to-be" category...but it was a generous serving of aqueous content. Will return to see if our bad impression was due to the fact that it was New Year's eve and they had just opened. Do try them.

Went to PF Changs for a co-worker's retirement luncheon, my first visit to a PF Changs ever. Visually it was nice. A big restaurant centrally located in a swanky mall. Our server was helpful and quick, given that she was helping a party of 20-plus individuals who mostly asked for separate checks. I wasn't too hungry, so I just ordered egg rolls and a seared tuna appetizer. It was satisfying, but with drink and tip my bill came out to be over $20. Go to PF Changs for the atmosphere and camaraderie if you're with a group of people. Me, I'm a traditionalist- the best Chinese restaurants are the small family hole-in-the-walls with the family yelling orders to each other in Chinese and popo (grandmother) making the dumplings by hand on a empty table. Still looking for my Michigan Chinese restaurant favorite.

P.F. Chang's is to Asian food what Olive Garden is to Italian food. The names of the dishes sound like real regional food, and the appearance is sort of what people think it should look like, but the flavors are mainly the trinity of fast food: Sugar, salt, fat. This is food for people who like the idea of exotic food, and want something beyond the limited selections at MacDonald's, but aren't comfortable with unfamiliar flavors. If that describes you, you'll love P.F. Chang's.

Always get great service here! This place can get super packed after a long day of shopping on the 'high end' side of Somerset Mall. Everyone seems to finish at the same time apparently and bring their appetite with them. The waiters/waitresses are very attentive and it is the best PF Changs I have been to. The one on Hall Road does not compare and they're not even as busy at that location. I have probably had my hand in everything. I recommend doing a buffet style and each ordering a plate like a fried rice, chicken, and beef. They come on very large plates and even a small rice side. Throw it in the middle and dig in. My favorites are the Wonton Soup, Changs spicy chicken, Phillips lemon chicken, and their crab wontons. They also have a great HH menu from 3-6pm

Visited recently and was very disappointed. They have let the details get away from them. Lettuce wraps...lettuce was wilted. Kung Po chicken...bone fragments in the chicken. They don't even give you dumpling sauce anymore. They drizzle some very lightly over the dumplings. What? Not worth reviewing all the poor execution. There aren't many decent Asian spots in SE Michigan. This was my safe haven. Not anymore. And at these prices? My take is they took extra costs out of their menu and cut lots of little stuff. I don't mind playing with portion sizes or even finding cheaper ingredients...if you do it well. The austerity movement at this restaurant is killing it. It is now truly a chain. It is disrespectful of people who truly enjoy this type of food.

I have a deadly shellfish allergy and I have avoided eating at Chinese restaurants for years because of that. I was beyond thrilled to learn that PF Changs has a special menu that I can order from that is shellfish allergy safe! They made me feel extremely comfortable, the food was absolutely delicious, and Nicholas the manager and Lisa our waitress were very nice. We will 100% be back! Thank you PF Changs for allowing me to eat Chinese food again!!!:)

Sarah is the worst host ever! She wanted us to wait 15 mins when the place was dead. There was enough seating for 50 people and the manager was ever worse! I called and talked to the management and he told me u don't have to eat here! How rude!

I know it's a chain but I have to show love to one of my favorite Chinese food places. The quality chains live and die by is consistency so I'm happy to say here I've experienced cocistnacy across locations in food quality, creative ambiance and attentive service. As is common for Chinese restaurants the menus are extensive so below I try to pick out the winners and losers from my last visit. Appetizers Sweet & Sour Soup 2 Egg Drop Soup 3 Chicken Lettuce Wraps 4 These are unique; they have shitake mushrooms as a large part of the mixture. You feel a mix of veggies chicken and mushroom enveloped with a sweetish brown sauce. I find eating this dish on lettuce leaves me feeling both healthy and satisfied. It's like eating a salad while having your hankering for savory food satisfied as well. Entrees Mongolian beef 5 Sizzling crispy beef a fine example of how good Asian cuisine can be. Orange Shrimp 3 I found this to be a bit lacking. Smaller shrimp, not too tender. Stir fried vegetables 3 Kung Pao Chicken 5 Loved it! Each chicken is lightly battered in breading then fried. Not only just more crispy. Deserts Great Wall of Chocolate 3 I first tried this as a teen back then they were HUGE portion made for two. Somehow the smaller version lacks the luster. Seems the frosting is more sugar and less chocolate than it used to be and the portion seemed carefully doled out not to give too much raspberry coulis, but I love this sauce and wish it had been thickly doled out. P.F. Chiang's if you are reading take my hint and go retro with this desert. Flourless chocolate cake 4 Thick layers of decadent dark chocolate basting in a pool of raspberry coulis. Love these types of flourless cakes.

Stopped in for a drink and sauntered over to the back bar and it was pretty packed. Don't know if this was because it was the weekend or because of a football game that had been on earlier, but I did manage to get a stool. Staff was cool and everyone was a joy to speak with at the bar. Saw some great appetizers float by while I was there like Edamame that looked fresh and fantastic. They had Bell's and Sam Adams beers and a host of medium level (call) liquor if you are going that route. Stop in and check this place out!

I was so hungry!!!! The food was great!!!! I had the two for 34.99 with my sister. We had the won ton soup, crab won tons, and the honey shrimp and sweet and sour chicken. Amazing!!!!! So much food!!! By the time my entree came, I was actually full. The service was amazing!!!! Fast and they kept the good coming. We also had the cheesecake with raspberry sauce, delicious!!!!! The only thing I have to say was a little disappointing is our food was not hot enough. But the taste made up for it.

MMMMM. I've always loved PF Changs but it has somehow been years since I've gone here. I had a giftcard so we went on a Tuesday evening for dinner. It was packed! On a Tuesday! Still that didn't slow service down one bit. Our server, Violet, was friendly, professional, and did an overall excellent job. My drinks were never close to empty. We got spring rolls which were good and not too greasy as some places can be. I got the Seasame chicken and it was perfect! Now I am craving this dish again though, oops! Brown rice, the perfect amount of sauce, fresh veggies... it was delicious at the resaraunt and again for leftovers. My boyfriend got friend rice which I tried and it was also quite good, as was his side dish of green beans- which Violet recommended to us over the spinach and garlic, she must have been right, they were very tasty. I was sad that I was too stuffed to enjoy a gluten free dessert option, but I will definitely be back. This place is chinese food that you don't feel sick after eating. Chain restaurants aren't usually my favorite, but I can't deny that PF Changs delivers. It has a nice vibe inside with romantic lighting as well. They have a great size gluten free menu and I had a hard time choosing what to order because everything sounds so yum!

Best Gluten free food in town. I am a fan. P F Chag's make it easy for me to order. I eat here whenever i can. They make all the food fresh so its easy for them to do gluten free. I love Chang's spicy chicken. I get mine with the sauce on the side, takes a few of the calories away. I hope you love it as much as we did.

After reading most of the reviews I wanted to play it safe. Ordered lettuce wrap for the starter and mangolain beef with sparkling wine (Moscato). Lettuce warp was GREAT! Mangolian beef has over do of the salt and sauce. But a reasonable portion. Banana spring rolls was unique dessert! coconut flavored ice-cream on it was out of the world! In short sure will pay another visit for more options and tasting.

Being Chinese and growing up in San Francisco where there is amazing Chinese cuisine everywhere I never had a need to go to PF Chang's. Actually, there is no PF Chang's in SF. This past weekend I finally got to see what all the hype was about. I initially had an negative opinion of this place from hearing others speak of it but my first experience with PF Chang's was pretty amazing! We were given a booth for a party of two which was awesome! I love booths and it was pretty comfy. We both ordered drinks (COCONUT LEMON SOUR & ASIAN PEAR MOJITO- a bit strong) and did the PF Chang's for two which cost 40 bucks. Each person gets a soup, both are meat based so if you are a vegetarian like my friend you can get a salad. The salad is pretty good. We ordered the Vegetarian Chang Lettuce wraps. This is a legit Chinese dish! It is one of my favorites except it usually comes with chicken or dove. Chang's version is good. Peppered Steak: The beef was a bit tough but it was decent. Nothing really special about this dish but it wasn't bad either. Banana Spring Rolls with Ice cream: This was good and comes with raspberries and strawberries. It was a lot. I think this is more for 3-4 people to share. The best thing about our dinner was the service. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating. Ten minutes after ordering my friend told her she doesn't like mushrooms and if it was possible to not have any in her entree. No problem! She even packaged our left overs with extra rice and even labeled the boxes. She gave us extra fortune cookies too! Nice clean bathrooms. The women's restroom has three stalls. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back!

  • Rebecca B.

Meh. Our waitress was new. And she was terrible. At first she was all over us like white on rice - then she left. And the manager did not come over to rescue her when she was in the weeds, when our appetizers got lost, when she spilled water all over the floor and us and she didn't really clean it up, when she couldn't split the checks or when we thought she quit because she and virtually every other person in the restaurant was gone. Said manager finally came over when I asked. Also, when I arrived the place was trashed. The first thing I noticed is it looked like the local Kinder-care just finished having lunch there...I am certain that it just needed a sweep. I hate to give low ratings just because of lousy service, but I thought the food was just alright and it was very expensive. We did get free appetizers out of it ... but I think I may not come back.

I really enjoyed this P.F Change location the service was amazing . I ordered a Thai beef noodle salad, it had tons of flavor and lots of yummy healthy veggies like mango and avocado. I had the salty carmel cake for dessert which I wasn't much of fan of it. It was very very sweet. My friend had the spicy chicken and loved every tasty bite.

  • Kate B.

The restaurant is visually stunning, but the food leaves much to be desired. I was first introduced to lettuce wraps here and while they are good, what follows afterwards can be had at the local Chinese joint for considerable less money!

  • Dano R.

The food and service at this PF's is good, not great. The Somerset Mall location keeps this place a rockin so it's not a quiet , relaxing place to dine. The manager Bill K. does a nice job in keeping the service and food quality up to par.

    (4)
  • Rac C.

I like to order their mahi-mahi grilled with cilantro rice and the coconut curry vegetables with brown rice then combined both dishes. This feeds at least 3-4 people and is a very healthy dish. I am in love with their cilantro rice. (Sometimes I add a little lemon on the rice just for an extra zing to it). Their tea is really yummy as well. Only bad thing I would say is that I am not a fan of their quality of meat due to it not being lean. Service here is always excellent, the decor is really nice. There is a wait for most nights especially weekends so I would suggest to call about an hr in advanced.

  • Zello A.

I'm usually a fan but my last visit was so disappointing. We had four different servers to start with, it was utmost chaos. Our food was so incredibly salty, it was almost disgusting. They messed up our order and conveniently forgot to serve us a dish we had ordered. They didn't even have the decency to apologize or try and make amends. Definitely not visiting them anytime soon.

  • Terri W.

This place was not my favvorite. I ate there with a party and was not wowed. Me and my husband were overwhelmed with the saltiness. It was so much that I hardly ate. The soup was good but no crunchy noodles. I thought it was WAY overpriced for the portion sizes and quality. I stick by Empress Garden in Southfield and Peking House in Royal oak for comaprable prices and MUCH better quality.

    (2)
  • Joseph R.

Josh the bartender was awesome. Took great care of us, made a great agave-based margarita and lots of great feedback in the menu items, suited to our diet preferences. The wait time can be a bit long as it is in a busy mall, and the noise level is high, but overall it's a great place, whether on a date or taking the family.

  • Kevin L.

I was not impressed, nice looking restaurant, pretty good service but the food was over priced and not that good. I tried this place twice and was disappointed with the food both times, I've been to much better Chinese restaurants and spent less.

  • Lily P.

Normal PF chang sorta place...not the best food. The service is good and if you want to get some psuedo asian but americanized food while you are shopping at Somerset then this is the place. Hrm. not much to stay about this place. REALLY dark..i wish they had more lights going on. The entrance from the mall could be nicer in general. Ive gotten the lettus wraps, egg rolls, and etc. They have screwed up deliveries when we ordered it from work near by and they were pretty nice about refunding and resending food..which is good but does that mean it occurs often? :(

    (2)
  • M V.

I had heard a lot of hype about this place before I went, and I was not impressed. I guess its the price compared to the food that gets to me. $14 for Sesame Chicken that is just ok. I can get a lot better Sesame Chicken for $7-8 from a takeout place. Maybe I am a little too hard on it. The food was good, but nothing great. The calamari appetizer was bad though. They looked and tasted like old french fries. Have you ever dropped a fry in your car and then found it days later? That's what it looked like. I hope that I just got a bad batch or something. I am sure I will be back there, as there is usually someone in the group that likes to go there. Hopefully I will have a better experience.

I am a stickler for customer service and I must say, Claudia and the whole crew the crew that took care of us were on it. It was a group of forty and for them to not miss thing was amazing to me and I look forward to eating in this restaurant soon.

  • Andrea P.

I ate here for dinner on Saturday night with a group of 7. This location is a typical PF Changs...busy restaurant...good food...decent service. However, this location lost stars from me because of the host/manager, who told us upon checking in for our reservation, that we would be kicked out at 7 pm for a 5 pm reservation. I understand that they are busy and need the space, but it does take time for the orders to come up for group of 7 that is ordering 3 courses plus drinks. And it usually produces a decent tip.

Why bother going to P.F. Chang's if you can get food to the SAME quality and taste at their econo-offering, Pei Wei Asian Diner? At Pei Wei you get over half of the similar/mainstream dishes - for half the price - to the same taste AND you can just do counter service so you don't have to tip anyone. If you insist on having the option to get alcoholic drinks, being waited on, with a more elaborate menu in a slightly more formal back setting - then you may want to try PF Chang's. But I'd rather go to Pei Wei and save money. I drink before going to the restaurant anyway.

Not a huge fan of PF Chang's, but I had a business luncheon here. Service is nice, but I think it's pricey for what you get. Pros: Fast carry out service. Hot tea is served in a lovely pot -- steamy and good quality tea. Cons: Food is salty, brown rice was dry, and dishes that normally have a lot of veggies, didn't.

  • George S.

I've only visited P.F. Chang's once, but it was still an experience to be had. We did have to wait a tad bit longer than I expected, but I credit that to the number of people that love going there! Our waiter made our experience all the better, giving us the go-to dishes for newbies. The chicken lettuce wraps are a good appetizer to start off with if it's your first time dining there. The menu is a bit pricey, so make sure you have some extra scrilla before stopping in. The atmosphere was great, good music playing with a low level of lighting and the restaurant doesn't get too loud. We wound up sitting and talking for about 15 minutes after we finished just because of the atmosphere. The dessert was to die for, I can't wait to go back and try more (The Great Wall of Chocolate sounds delicious!) We haven't been back since that one time, but we are definitely looking forward to the next time.

I stopped in this past Saturday afternoon (4pm) for dinner with my wife. We split an order of gluten free spicy chicken. The dinner comes with your choice of brown or white rice and gluten free soy sauce is available upon request. The dish was about $15 (I think it was 70 cents more than the not gluten free version) and enough chicken for two if you go heavy on the rice (they'll bring more more for free). We were both very happy with the dish. We also split the gluten free flourless chocolate dome. Yes, that's actually what they call it. I was expecting something similar to cake or brownie, but I was way off. It's basically a large scoop of chocolate ganache served with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and a raspberry sauce. It was very good, and I'm picky. If you like chocolate truffles, you'll love it. I think it was $5.99 On a previous visit I had the egg drop soup, which was pretty bad and ridiculously salty.

Yum. Yum. Yummy. Service here is always impeccable and downright impressive. Menu is great, food spectacular and ambiance is worth evIery penny. The crispy green beans are my newly found favorite. Honey shrimp is my favorite entree by far. Make reservations so you don[t have to wait. You can do it from their smartphone app quite easily and quickly. You can also order for carry out on the app. Dangerous for this yelper! Great wine list as well, i can't help myself but to have a glass of Moscato when I come here!

Here is a restaurant that started as pseudo-Chinese and has gotten even less Chinese. Originally it offered decent food in a Chinese theme. Now any resemblance is purely coincidental. The food was awful. Was also told we had a time limit of 2 hours- totally unacceptable behavior even though it was highly likely that we would not take that long.

PF Changs is my favorite Asian restaurant ever. The warrior card knocks 10% off your bill and does help if your a frequent diner. Anything you get a regular Asian restaurant is nothing compared to PF Changs. The atmosphere is very nice and authentic and the staff is very friendly. I would recommend making a reservation about 1 hour before you plan on eating here. There is a long wait and the Somerset Collection location is always busy especially toward dinner and all through out the night. I recommend their Spring Rolls, Lettuce Wraps, Hot n Sour soup, and Sesame Chicken. Enjoy everyone =)

Totally white bread Chinese, but I love it! In fact, everything I've ever ordered at PF Chang's has been delicious. I like how they greet you and mix your sauces for you at the table. It's old hat now, but I like it. You can't experience PF's w/o starting with an order of Lettuce Wraps, either the tofu or the chicken... they're both very flavorful. It was novel at first, but I keep ordering it just the same. (It reheats well if you have leftover filling.) The dish I loved the most was the Hot Fish. That was, until I discovered 1) They use chicken broth in the sauce and 2) It has 71g of fat in one serving!! That's only 18g less than their Great Wall of China dessert! Never again, but it is delicious! I also liked (past tense, as in RIP from the menu) the Steamed Fish of the day, especially when it was sea bass. So much for the fish entrees! Now that leaves me with the stir-fried eggplant and Chang's Lemon Scallops. The eggplant entree is very filling. The scallops are tender and sweet. It's hard to save room for dessert, but their Great Wall of China dessert can easily sate four people. It's six layers of chocolate ecstasy with raspberry sauce on the side. Sugar coma? You bet! This is your best bet for dining in the south side of Somerset Collection. It's Chinese food for finicky eaters.

Chicken Lettuce Wraps FTW! It was so fun to put together and eat as a group. I wish I knew how to make these. I bet kids would like them too :) Kung Pao Shrimp? POW POW POW! It was great! 1st time having them and it was great. Maybe a tad salty for me but it was perfect with the rice. Kung POW! I thought the pao was supposed to be spicy?

It's good and I feel guilty for liking it. It's not great, and it's not worth it, but I keep coming back like the sucker I am. Their alcoholic cocktails are fabulous. I had no idea a Chinese restaurant could make a margarita so good. I still don't get the whole 3 sauce thing they do at the table. It's so unnecessary. But I admit, I love that hot sauce all over my food. They tend to make things very palatable, naturally as a massive chain restaurant, so their "spicy" dishes are not spicy. The waitstaff is hit or miss. The place gets really loud. And I always feel like I am being simultaneously neglected and rushed.

My brother and I went here after church today I got the sweet and sour chicken, he got the szechuan beef 4 thumbs up to the beef dish! My was good, dno if I'd get it again though but i couldn't help but to get into my brother's entree... Sauce was great especially with the different veggies

I enjoy the food that P.F.Chang's has to offer. It is delicious, as everyone knows--the lettuce wraps are awesome! We walked into the restaurant and not one person was waiting to be seated on a Thursday night. It was a bit after 8pm. I was asked if my family of 5 had a reservation by a curt hostess. I replied no, and she told us there was a 20-25 minute wait, handed us a beeper/buzzer and that was it. About 15 minutes later we were seated. There were SEVERAL empty tables in the restaurant! I was irritated and annoyed at having to wait. Luckily, our server was good, and the food was delicious. Having worked in a restaurant I understand the timing of seating so as not to overwhelm the staff, but this was ridiculous, in my opinion. This location is not my favorite, but I will probably be back to give them another chance at sometime in the future.

I would prefer to give this restaurant a 3 and a half start because 4 makes me seem like someone who really does not love food and 3 just makes me sound bitter. Although for the money you always want just a little more at PF changs I do have to say they pretty much are dead on with consistency regardless of which location you go too. Alas if you really dont care how much you spend i like to get two meals lol something beefy something chickeny....maybe a green bean something with some soup...whitified lettuce wraps (dont worry i am half white) are good So if I surround myself with a plethora of food choices i feel better but the bill always gets to me just slightly when i leave...

I just can't believe they don't serve Peking duck with pita wrap anymore. This is one of my favorite dishes. This place has really dark upscale ambiance Asian-American atmosphere to it. They have a really nice bar when you walked in through the front entrance. Outside the front door, there are two huge Horses that made of stone standing on each side. Inside, they display some of the small scale Chin Dynasty Chinese Art- army of clay statues of soldiers. Very Unique. The food are not that authentic Chinese food but they still taste great. The serving is not a lot for one dish so we usually order a lot more. The average per dish is about 10 to 20 dollars. The average cost per person usually in the high 30's. Overall the service is good and food is great.

We've ordered out from here several times and each time, the only dish I can stomach is the honey chicken and the children's egg fried rice. Everything else is just too americanized for me. I really don't know why so much grease/fat has to be used in simple dishes. Also, the amount of vegetables in the vegetable fried rice needs to be tweaked and less mushrooms please! Lol, it's like it was swarming in mushrooms and nothing else. The won ton soup, was, for the most part, tasteless. The egg/spring rolls were, for lack of a better word, greasy. I can never stand how much oil is in them. For the price, I think they could definitely do better. :(

I generally mock chains, but I can't do it to PF Chang's. Why? Because it's good. Because when I ask for two smaller glasses, a jar of sake, and a big bottle of Sapporo, the bartender thinks it's cool that I'm about to do Sake Bombs with my brother. Because even my picky father ate well here. Because spicy eggplant is the greatest thing of all time. But yeah, make a reservation. This place is packed 24/7. Or at least during mealtimes. Also, I got a free dessert here for my birthday yesterday:) We like that, even though I don't like bananas and can't eat ice cream. But still!

SO I just came back from P F Changs with the love my life and let me tell you...we had an awesome time. They must have known that we were gonna be PDA central, so they sat us in this cozy booth in the back. The waiter was kind of weird (he wouldn't put my ID in my hand) but he made sure we were taken care of. Today I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried some crap wontons. It actually was pretty good. Of course, for my main entree I had my old faithful Sweet & Sour Chicken, and he had the Honey Chicken (which I personally wasn't a fan of but he scraped the plate). We stayed for a long time and hung out, and the waiter didn't even complain :-)

Ok, tip #1....make a reservation. This particular location in Troy tends to get super busy, especially given its proximity to Somerset. Double plus is that Michigan is the only state that has P.F. Chang's where you can make reservations online (except for same-day reservations--then, it's best to call.) My hubby and I went there because we had a gift card. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed everything. They had an expansive drink menu, with beers, wine, and cocktails. Their beers were reasonable priced ($4.50 for most), and the cocktails were mostly in the $7.50/$8.00 range. I ordered the Asian pear mojito, which was not overly sweet, and which I found to be delightful. We chose the "P.F. Chang's for Two" Prix-fixe menu. I started off with a hot and sour soup, which I was not crazy about. I found it to be overly salty and it had a strange flavor to it. Next, my husband and I shared the lettuce wraps, which I found to be pretty delicious, especially when paired with the recommended sauces. For our main course, we split the Mongolian beef and the Kung Pao shrimp. I liked the Kung Pao shrimp better--it was sweet, crispy, and overall pretty excellent. The Mongolian beef was good, but could have used more seasonings/spices. For desserts, we each had a mini dessert. Mine was a s'mores one, and my husband had a chocolate and raspberry one. The desserts were pretty good, kind of like a gussied-up parfait. Overall, I enjoyed my dining experience. It was fun to go to a place that felt a little more "upscale" than your typical Chinese restaurant. The decor was very well done, with statues, low lighting, and comfortable booths. The service was quick, and I found it to be quiet and intimate. Great for a date night!

i admit it, i like it. i never think of going here on my own, but i always quickly say yes! thank you, i'll have some. the honey shrimp is seriously sweet and good. i normally hate sweet flavored savory dishes, but this one breaks my mold. i like the potstickers. the food i can tell is full of sodium, but i still like it. i even don't mind the sauce tray that comes and the stupid way they have to mix it in front of you. the bar always has some kind of drink special going on, so you don't have to worry about spending a bunch on drinks. now what i don't like. i hate eating in malls. this is in no way something that makes my dining experience better. i hate the hostesses. look at me when i ask for a table, ok! never have i been acknowledged when first walking in, i have to stand directly in front of whatever skinny little over makeuped girl they have and ask for a table. but if you ask me, i'll go. love, juston

I have travelled extensively to China, Hong Kong and all over Asia. Any Chinese person that would try this place would ask what kind of American food they were having. While the interior is very nice and the lines of yuppies waiting to be served can be long, the food itself is some kind of fabrication done by a marketing department. There are so many average to great Chinese places you can go to, I cannot imagine why people like this ersatz place.

We've been here on several occasions and have always had great service. The portion sizes here are huge, which is nice because you have some left over for the next day. Very pleased with PF Chang's.

I used to spend WAY too much money here. I've calmed it down, but I still love it. I always sit at the bar, and I'm always alone (well, I've gone there ONE time with someone else). All the bartenders knew me a few years ago (two went on to open (proof) bar near the Fillmore, actually), and at least one still does. You have to wait a while for a seat when it's busy, but you just stake out someone who's about to leave and it usually works out. My usual order: Crispy Honey Chicken -- so so so so good. Not too sweet. Just enough breading. And you must put the lettuce wrap sauce (with a ton of hot mustard and chili paste in it) on it. Spicy and sweet, mmmm. Pan-fried Peking Dumplings - the sauce is so yummy. And you must get them fried. Steamed will not cut it. The best pork-and-vegetable filling. And the sauce, oh sweet Jesus. Hot & Sour Soup -- just spicy enough, and even has chicken in addition to tofu. My only complaint is the abundance of mushrooms (I THINK that's what they are; they are long, slick, black string-type things; I thought they were mushrooms). P.F. Chang's puts me in a good mood any time. It's a tad out of my price range, but it's cheaper at lunch. I'll eat anything with soy sauce, but P.F. Chang's is like manna from heaven.

A-OK indeed. The place does NOT scream authentic Chinese, but you already know that, right? Everything they serve has a different name and would be a "twist" on your classic Chinese favorite. The lettuce wraps are highly over rated. And our waitress was pissed we because we didn't order drinks and shared food. And then I paid with a gift certificate. Ha!!! I call that a "twist" on your classic payment.

I love love love this place. I love the atmosphere, I love the staff and the food for me....is amazing. I love their lettuce wraps- minus the chicken lol. (Non meat eater) lemon pepper shrimp with asparagus and other veggies....amazing. and I had a eggplant entree that was delicious. The best egg drop soup (unless made at home) is served here at pf changs. In the past, when I was a meat eater, I used to order the mongolian beef.....yum. (at the time lol) I just love it. I've ran into Tayshaun Prince and his family a couple of times lol. Hey, I just wanted throw that in there lol! Awesome place, awesome service and most importantly the food is great. Its def not the best I've ever had BUT does deserve all 5 stars. Highly recommnd it. Yum! Happy eating my fellow yelpers! Xoxo

I absolutely love this place! We were seated and the atmosphere is dark in there, but i love it. We were told about the different sauces at our table and then we ordered the lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps are so good and low in calories. I ordered the chang's spicy chicken and loved it. It wasn't too much food and not too little. Just enough!

You think Boodah automatically love P.F. Chang, right? NO! No auto-love the PF Chang! But... I do love PF Chang (quiet!) I know what I talk about.... ok, the food IS lovely tasty yummie. Cannot dispute taste of lettuce wraps... however, wait time HORRIBLE! Yes... product of own success even after all these years. I go out on limb to announce that everything on menu tasty! You try! Tell me I'm wrong... but YOU CANNOT! Just don't be really hungry before you go, otherwise you may fall out from wait time. No even think about showing up without reservation... just go home. Orange Peel Chicken, Ginger Chicken... seafood, veggies... all so happy! Love them all. I give 4 stars but short one star just because wait too long. I know, I hard on them for that... maybe too much.

Basically, the frozen P F Chang's you find in the grocery store is better than the actual restaurant. I was so excited to eat there because of the hype. The dishes are either way too salty or they're just not getting the flavor right. I have no desire to ever eat there again.

Ketchup in Chinese cooking -- who knew?! Whenever my husband takes me to Somerset to waste money at The Gucci store we always end up getting sucked into the faux Asian fusion mall haute cuisine. What is wrong with us?! Not only do you have to wait 57.9 minutes to get a damn table, you have to do so surrounded by the mall (maul) fashionista crowd with their Halloween hair and French manicures, freshly dipped and clipped. And their screaming Ralph Lauren clad children. And like three 19 year old wannabee B-boys yammering into their cell phones and calling each other "Bra." And then maybe you get seated. The food is meh. I mean, yeah, it's like REALLY good food court Chinese food. But they should totally offer other food court items on their menus, like those really big pretzels and giant cinnamon rolls. Maybe popcorn. My husband would also like the addition of a giant cookie he can personalize. And an Orange Julius. I think they all ready serve those there, because half of their foofoo cocktails taste like they do NOT contain booze. They just call it a vaguely Asian sounding name, like he General Tso's Julius. We also never knew ketchup with such an important component of Szechuan cuisine. I think most of the items on the menu contain ketchup, sugar or both. Now, this is not a bad thing per se, but I usually like ketchup on my French Fries and sugar in my candy, and PF Chang's does NOT carry either of these things on their menu! I agree with the other reviewer, the honey chicken is good, as well as the orange peel beef.. but it's all sort of something you could get next to an Arby's and a Taco Bell, and across from a Webkins kiosk, just like 4 times as expensive.

We stopped in for a drink and a couple of appetizers while doing some shopping for our upcoming Vegas trip. This location is in The Somerset Collection (mall) south. I have dined here before and it's been 3 to 4 star. This time not so. One of the things that has always bothered me about the lay out is if you enter from the mall side you have to cut through all the tables for the entire length of the restaurant to get to the hostess stand at the street side. If it is slow, not a big deal, if the place is busy, its a pain. We ordered a couple of NA drinks and two appetizers. The egg rolls were still cold on the inside, and not hot on the outside, So back they went and were fine when the food runner brought them back, a quick toss into the microwave. The pork dumplings were done fine. Service was very good, but there were not many people in the place. The review killer for me was before leaving I stopped in the mens room and as I was washing up I saw a cockroach on the floor, crunch, As I was leaving I told the hostess about it, she replied that they get sprayed once a week....no sorry...no I will let someone know.....no we will clean the body up....nothing but "we get sprayed once a week" OK .... I know most restaurants have or can get pests, but show some interest and concern when a customer says something. Not in a hurry to go back.

Like Cherice I dined at this restaurant with the love of my life and had the best time. I had some sort of salad and ate some of his food ( I don't remember what it was) I think it was the Orange Peel Chicken. PFC was not what I expected but I am happy to say it was more than I expected. Our server was great, it wasn't crowded for a Thursday evening and we really enjoyed the environment as much as the food. I am dying to get back to P F Changs but only with my love, I might jinx myself and end up with crappy food or service.

The food here is really salty and over priced. But sit at the bar for dinner, order a tall poisonous drink and the atmosphere will win you over. Great place for a date.

Probably the greatest server of all time works here. Patricia treats her customers to a 5 star restaurant dining experience at 2 star prices. I like her so much that I will call ahead to get seated at one of her tables. The Changs spicy shrimp is my all time favorite dish. The service and food at this location always seems superior

  • Nick B.

I love this resturant. After coming here, it is the only Chinese food that I will eat. The prices are very reasonable. Make sure you get a PF Chang card, it is an automatic 10% off. The atmosphere is fun. The decor is nice. The service is friendly.

  • Mike Y.

Let me start bhy saying the service was impecible. Our waitress was fast and we never had to ask for anything. The food tasted like it came from the frozen food section of Kroger (no slam to Kroger). Had lettuce wraps and Hunan pork. Had an almost freezer burn taste to it. I like oriental food, make it at home, but this was from another planet, not one known for acceptable food. We had been here on several occasions and while not expecting authentic Chinese, this was our last time. Not worth going back.

LOVE PF Changs - another good chain I've reviewed in multiple locations. This location is pretty good for lunch as it doesn't get too busy. Not sure how I feel about the new lunch bowls considering I absolutely hated the hot and sour soup that I picked over the egg drop as my starter. However, we still got the lettuce wraps which are an abolute must for first timers. The crispy honey chicken is one of my personal faves, although a lot of people like the Changs spicy chicken and the double fan fried noodles. You absolutely HAVE to try the banana springs rolls - they are soooo good. The wall of chocolate is good as well, but so many restaurants do some sort of chocolate dessert and as a woman, I generally think that as long as its chocolate, it's good in my book!

    (5)
  • Maria-Daphne T.

PF Changs is pretty predictable but generally has much more atmosphere than your typical chinese restaruant. Loved the martini menu and the lettuce wraps were tasty. I think it satisfies everyone and its a nice option at the Somerset Collection. Is it the end all and be all? no, but its decent.

  • Josh W.

I would be happy if some god like enity destroyed all the Applebees in the world then spontaniously replaced them with P. F. Changs Bistros. Good Veggie options, great appetizers! Only problems with this location is seating is a bit cramped if you get stuck at a table and service can be s l o w . . .

  • Haroun K.

I was skeptical about this place, but Somerset South usually has decent dining (e.g. the old Portobello). It was my first "chain" Chinese food experience, and it felt really really weird, and sort of wrong. When I think about a Chinese restaurant, I think about low lighting, and Chinese music (if any), and lots of my brethren. I can't take away a star for ambiance, because this is Somerset South, and the ambiance was perfect for the crowd. The food was quite extraordinary. There was a large variety of options for all diners, including gluten free items. Apparently the lettuce wraps are a must-order appetizer, and they are a good way to start off. The Banana Spring Roll Dessert (with homemade ice cream!!!!) was one of the best dessert items I've ever tasted. The prices are very reasonable, as well. The place does get really busy at lunch and dinner times, so it is a good idea to make a reservation.

P.F. Changs has a great selection of vegetarian meals, side dishes and appetizers. The food is very fairly priced, but the service could be better. This place is always packed, be sure to get to the restaurant before you are really hungry, because it will take a while to be seated and a little longer to get your food. But the wait is worth it! The spicy eggplant and the veggie lettuce wraps are must trys!

  • Brian G.

Hmm - Well I will admit I like more "authentic" places. To me clean and high end mall based restaurants are not quite right for good Chinese. That said I think they do a failry good job - food would give it a four stars, noise and prices kick it back to 3. But all in all a safe, family friendly choice for Chinese. You can do a alot worse for Chinese in Detroit.

  • Francisco C.

  • Tony H.

The happy hour deals are amazing. Get the Pan fried shrimp dumplings. Sit at the bar. Enjoy!

  • Michael P.

  • Scott K.

The food quality has diminished since our last visit. The garlic shrimp was very bland as was my past favorite..the orange peel beef. The Happy Hour drinks are way too unusual. Ultimately I chose their version of the Margarita...which was soo sweet and had virtually no alcohol in it. The service however was very good. Next time I think of going upscale for Chinese....I'm heading to Mon Jin Lau.

This place is the pinnacle of gluten free happiness. A distinct gluten free section in the regular menu (no slips of receipt paper!) that is decently sized, specially marked plates that are only for gluten free items so you can tell immediately which dish is yours, and tasty food. They even have gluten free beer! I will definitely be revisiting pf changs.

They had great service, great food, and was reasonable timing for getting food out, especially with how busy it was. Any other Chinese restaurants I've been to I haven't been to big on their food. This place totally blew me out of the water as to how good their food is.

I am frequent P.F. Changs visitor and usually love their food, portions, and prices but the last time I visited it was not up to par like it always is. We ordered crab wontons, which were good, and I had the egg drop soup which was also good. For the dinner, I ordered Chang's spicy chicken which I think it was the honey chicken (think there was a mix-up) because it lacked flavor and had no veggies as usual. The chicken was just nasty with fat and a nasty old flavor. I am very disappointed. Maybe I will go to another location if i am craving this.

The food and service at this PF's is good, not great. The Somerset Mall location keeps this place a rockin so it's not a quiet , relaxing place to dine. The manager Bill K. does a nice job in keeping the service and food quality up to par.

    (2)
  • Matthew D.

    (2)
  • Amy B.

  • Eve V.

I would be happy if some god like enity destroyed all the Applebees in the world then spontaniously replaced them with P. F. Changs Bistros. Good Veggie options, great appetizers! Only problems with this location is seating is a bit cramped if you get stuck at a table and service can be s l o w . . .

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
